Reservation at DFW made after a flight was cancelled. Waited in line 3 hours then was told they didn’t have anymore rentals. What is a RESERVATION for then?Will never use this company again.Don’t trust them.
Do NOT use Dollar car rental. You will end up regretting it. Their customer service reps are based overseas, speak broken English and have no idea what they are talking about. I should have used Enterprise like I normally do.I was traveling from NY to Lafayette LA. My flight was delayed so I was landing at 10pm instead of 4:30pm. Knowing this I called Dollar Rental to confirm what time their pickup counter closed. They told me it closed at 6pm, but as I called with a delayed flight someone would be there to give me my car. I called back a few hours later to confirm this as the first customer support rep was hard to understand. The 2nd customer service rep confirmed that someone would be there to give me the car and I did not need to cancel my reservation.When I arrived at the counter earlier than expected, nobody was there. I called Dollar on the phone and after a little back and forth I was told I could pick the car up at 10am the next day. By the time they told me this on the phone the Enterprise desk was closed. So I was stuck at a regional airport at night with no ride. I had a class at 7am the following morning.So to say Dollar Rental screwed me is putting it lightly. If they just told me they were not going to be open I could have made other arrangements.This is not the fault of the office in Lafayette, but the fault of this company in general. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was overseas.

Horrible service! Reserved & prepaid was a waste bc I get there to find out only 1 mid size SUV available which is the smallest one. So, I had to pay more to upgrade. Today, I called to ask how much for is a 1hr late return & CSR named Francis says $99. I asked him was he serious & he hangs up on me. So I called back to find out I will have to pay $121 for 1 extra day. Ridiculous!!

The experience was good. They had a small selection of cars to choose from. I didnt care for how the receptionist was trying to get my family to book a car we didnt reserve for a lot more than what we budgeted to spend. She was nice - but very persistent.I eventualy just said, Maam we just want to get into a car that fits in the price range originally quoted.I also dont like how Dollar has a different tier system when it comes to the difference between premium and standard cars. I reserved a premium car online (Buick or something similiar) - but when I went to pick up the car we were given a Malibu and told that it was their type of premium car for their company. Not that big of a deal - I guess because we had small children, but it may be an issue for someone else who was expecting a specific type of car.Not sure if this is standard - but it took like 2 weeks for the charge to actually show up.
I reserved a car on Feb 22nd, 2019 because I was planning a trip during Mardi Gras break. I wanted to get the car on Mar 2nd. When we get to the Dollar counter at Lafayette Regional Airport, we saw that many of the people were told that no car is available on that day. When we get to the counter, we were given a compact, small car, although we reserved for a full sized car. The lady at the counter told me that we can use the given car as a full size car! Which was impossible.
