Im a college student who lives away from home and knows nothing about cars. Back in July, I had to get my car battery terminals replaced. Everywhere else in town wanted to over charge me and make me wait at least 5 days. I called Stans and they fit me into their schedule so I could have my car back that day and save an Uber ride. I also got my battery replaced with an 18 month warranty. Today, my battery died and I called them to make sure I could replace it. I told them I had work for a certain time. They said it wouldnt be delivered until the afternoon, which was when I worked. However, they took time out of their day to pick it up themselves to make sure I had it done before work. Great people and service.

These guys took on my project and thus far have exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Tim and the rest of the crew for the rapid response and hard work. Cant wait to get my EG Coupe back on the road.

Heard this place was good. Called to see about service and alignment. Could not do it for about three weeks. And they do not make appointments. So you can just keep calling and hope for an opening or go somewhere that wants to make money and run a business. ????

The guys at work there are really nice and knowledgeable and accommodating. They do a good job for a good price. I dont think theres a better place in Lafayette you can go to for Auto mechanics.

I have used Stan’s for years and they have always done a good job. However, the last several times I’ve used them, they didn’t even start looking at my car until I called and inquired as to the status. This is even though I called ahead of time to make arrangements, dropped it off the day before, asked if it would be ready the next day, then called again to check on the status. I’m having to pick up my car (after arranging for a ride there, to borrow a car for the day, etc.) without my car being repaired. And the only reason why I I am able to pick up my car (unrepaired) before the weekend was because I called again before they closed. If this was the first time it happened, I would be a little irritated but I would let it slide. But this now seems to be a regular occurrence. And worse yet, it doesn’t appear that anyone there really cares.

Please how do you quote a person $800 to $1000 to change a 2009 vw Jetta radiator? I bought the radiator $109 including taxes at O reileys and u want to charge 10 times that for labor? At this rate how are these guys still in business? Flee from this place .

Really nice people but they had my car for 4 days (was supposed to be 1) and didnt even look at it until I called again and said I would just go pick it up without a diagnostic. I paid for The service and the info they gave me was not correct and came with a super high estimate. I dont think I would return.

This place deserves a 5 star!The staff made me feel like I was a VIP customer. My car needed a maintenance service and they take care of my vehicle with efficiency. The customer service was above par!I’ll never go anywhere else after today.

Three hours to change the oil and rotate my tires. Most expensive oil change and tire rotation I’ve ever had. $90 total and $55 just for labor. I usually get this done elsewhere for $50 or less. I could understand charging $50 (MAYBE) for an oil change at an express lube shop. This took three hours. Many places do a complimentary rotation with the oil change. I just can’t believe how expensive this was, and wouldn’t recommend it.

This place is awesome! I brought my wifes 2010 Camry in for service and even though they were really busy they were able to get her car fixed and out the same day and they also picked her up from work to get the car at the end of the day. We wont go anywhere else from now on. They were very honest and great at explaining what was going on with her car. Thanks again guys!

Awesome group of people at Stans. They always take great care of my vehicles and have always been honest about what was wrong with my vehicle. I appreciate that the most. But their customer service is also worth raving about. I could go anywhere, but I will go to Stans because, not only do they do great work, but they make me feel like a person, not a number. A+ across the board.

I cant say enough good things about Stan and his shop. Stan, his son, and team went above and beyond to help us. This is the most honest auto repair shop Ive ever experienced. I recommend if you have any issues with your vehicle to take it to Stans. They do really good work and are willing to take that extra step to help.

Super friendly and helpful. Blew out a tire on the way to work and had my car towed there. Were super courteous and when i found out my wheel couldnt be fixed until the next day,the guy Tim working the counter even gave me a ride to WORK all the way across town. Dwf will return there if i have any more car issues. Good and trustworthy mechanics are hard to find!

I just moved to Lafayette from Wisconsin in January. The first month I was here, I got a nail in my tire :( Took it to Stans and got it fixed right away. 2 months go by and my tire pressure sensor fell off my wheel and was rattling around. Got it in and fixed same day! These guys are great and are super nice, honest, and helpful! Definitely have my business for my time here!

Amazing work and super professional people. Whether it was my sister needing a new tire on her Civic or getting an custom spec alignment on my track car that sits low to the ground, they were fast, good, and well priced. Stans is the best place out of many that Ive been to in Lafayette!

I love this place! Ive been coming here for almost 10 years now. The staff and mechanics are honest and dont create problems where there are none. Other places I have been for oil changes tell me I need this and that done to my car. I always come here and get a second opinion and 9 times out of 10, I dont need what was recommended by the other place.

They fixed my 10 y/o Ford Focus that has over 100,000 mi on it and I could afford it‼️ it ran like new afterwards. Thanks to all you TRUE PROFESSIONALS

Took my truck here for help with my ac that went out. of course they told me the whole system needed to be replaced for a whopping 1800. luckily i decided to take it to a different shop for a second opinion. second opinion assured me that stans didnt even look at the ac unit. total costs from the second shop was 600 bucks and now my ac blows cold again. if your looking for an honest mechanic to work with, this aint it. I rarely write reviews but i understand how hard it is to find an honest mechanic.

Sorry Vickie Pham it is not our fault your car is equipped with illegal tint. All window tints are checked with a meter recommended by the State Police. Just because a different shop would give you a sticker doesnt make it legal. You were told if the tint was removed, we would issue you a two year sticker at no charge. We did nothing wrong.....it is the law!

We have been repairing cars in Lafayette for 40 years. I have thousands and thousandsof return customers who are happy to wait for our service. We are not perfect but to give us a one star because we did not diagnose it fast enough is disappointing at the very least. I can only hope you have found a mechanic shop that meets your expectations.

Id stay away from this shop entirely. Went to get an alignment and got a call saying my tie rod lock nut was frozen and wouldnt come off no matter what they did, including using a torch. They then proceeded to tell me they wanted to charge upwards of $500 to cut it off and replace the tie rods. He also said all that is needed for my alignment to be finished was toe adjustment, I asked if it would be free since that can be done in no time at all and since apparently my alignment is finished except for that, he said no and theyd charged me another $100 for another alignment. I said no thanks Ill do my tie rods myself. Before going to the parts store I decided to try to get the lock nut off and I literally got it off within 2 MINUTES. Use a more reputable alignment shop that atleast warranties their alignments, like almost every other shop in Lafayette.

Went in for inspection, was nice about it but didn’t give me my sticker bc my tint was too dark. went somewhere else and they gave me my sticker. wasted $20 on this place and got no refund

Horrible experience with Tim at Stans Auto Shop. Dont expect a courtesy call or even to have your vehicle back in a timely manner. The very least this business can do is communicate with their customers. Do yourself a favor and go to Acadiana Transmission for a free diagnostic in a timely manner.

First off I should have known better when I seen Tim working here, I had experience with him at high end with my Jag, my Cadillac sts, and my Lincoln. So now he has put his claws on my range rover, and my 1967 Lincoln continental, paid for starter to be changed in my Rover but after he let us pay him then he says that I cant take me key out of it or it wont start, REALLY, then 1,000 spent on the Lincoln for it to run worst than when it went there, and had the ordasity to say bring it back, how you did all that work and didnt see the gas leaking around the seals under the hood, for old skools stick with Rick Rods, and my Rover is @ high END motors being that Tim dont work there any more.....

I honestly wont be going back to stans, they told me that I needed new break rotors and a new catalytic converter and it was gonna run me about $1200. They told me that my car was really unsafe to drive and when I went to get a second opinion my converter came out fine and the guy said I still have 15,000 miles left on my breaks.

I brought my car to stans to fix a blown spark plug. they fixed the problem, but had to zip tie the heater core hoses to the firewall to have room to do so. that caused my heater core intake spout to break off at the base. I called and let them know about it, and they replied its common and did not offer any restitution.
