I found them on line and gave it a try. My hair is more challenging than it looks to get a nice cut that will lay down properly due to the several cowlicks. Chris listened and then performed the cut I was hoping for. Recommend Reds Barbershop and of course, ask for Chris. Great price too.

Shes does a great job on my husband and son hair. Very nice and patience. My son is only 3 year old and has ADHD really bad cant sit still or stop touching everything. Red does so well with him and theres very few people who can stand to be around him let alone handle him and be patience. Theres no where else we would rather go even if they paid us to go there we wouldnt.

This is a great traditional barber shop. “Red,” or the red-haired Penny, is the owner, and conversation is as lively as you want to make it.Great value for the cut, and each one ends with a brief shoulder massage. It’s a nice touch.

Reds Barber Shop has the best price in town for a mans haircut. They are doing the best that they can to be safe during this pandemic. You just give them a call when you get to their parking lot and put your name on the list, then they call or come outside to let you know when its your turn. They only let two customers in at a time, and clean the work sanitize the work station between each customer. When its busy, theres a bit of a wait but its worth it for the best haircut in Knoxville.

I have been getting my hair cut here for years. I love both Chris and Penny. If you are lucky, you might even get to meet Pennys awesome son.During the shutdown caused by Covid-19, I ended up going 2 months without a haircut. So when they opened up again, I showed up on day 1 with a full head of hair. They had signs up when I got there that explained how they were working with the restrictions. You call the number on the sign, give them your name and number. I stood at the window and waved so they knew I was there. They then just requested we wait in our cars until our turn.Considering the circumstances, I thought they did an excellent job and they worked hard to protect their customers. I am so glad they are open again and I recommend them enthusiastically.

I just love this place. Been coming here for a couple years now. Penny and Chris are both magnificent! Great old school feel. Be prepared to engage in conversation and laugh while waiting. Oh yea, you might have to wait but its worth it.

I am a woman who is in need of having her head shaved for personal reasons and I was turned down simply because of my gender. I called this barbershop because of its reviews. Because I wanted and even cut. Shameful how rude people can be just because a woman wants to shave her OWN head.

This place is great. You can walk in a get a cut right away sometimes and others you could be waiting 1.5 hours. The wait is worth it though. She plays westerns on the tv and the other fellas hanging out are good folks to converse with. Chris usually cuts my two boys hair as well as mine but sometimes Penny (red the owner) does it and I never have any complaints. Chris is especially patient when I change my kids haircut halfway through it and Im very grateful.

Penny has been cutting my hair for almost 14 years. I started with her when she was at Inskip. In that time only one other person has cut my hair and that was her employee Chris.Her 5 star rating as a Barber is deserved! Never had a bad cut from her. Over the years she has grown her business and she has earned the success. Now Penny has grown her business to a point where she often times has very long waits (in my experience). Guys its no exaggeration that she will will have 3 to 5 people waiting for her on a Saturday morning an hour before she opens. Yes, thats how good she is!If I can offer a suggestion, I know for myself and from comments I heard you make recently that you have clients that are very frustrated with wait times: I know I have been. Im seen comments about the wait here on Google. Ive also seen allot of apologies for the wait.Ive been with you along time and I would prefer that you continue to cut my hair. Ive come to a point where I dont have the time to wait an hour to an hour and half or more depending on the time of day.My suggestion is that you start accepting appointments. A $10.00 hair cut is a great value Penny and if you created a policy where you accept appointments I would gladly pay $15.00 or even $20.00 so that I can have you keep cutting my hair. Please consider my suggestion. I mean that as a compliment and a solution to mounting frustration that you and some of your clients have been experiencing. Also. . . an appointment policy would mitigate the need to apologize.Penny you are great! I love the way you cut my hair. You have a great barber shop and great atmosphere there. Ive appreciated the years you have cut my hair. I will miss you if I decide to move on and right now thats where Im at. So I first visited Reds around a year ago and boy am I glad I did. Got there on a Saturday afternoon and learned real quick better get there early. No problem to Penny or Chris . Told me who I was behind and said have a seat. It was late in the afternoon and I felt as though I should leave as closing time was coming closer with each additional cut. They explained if I was in the door before they turned around the closed sign I was good. THIS IS A BARBER SHOP PEOPLE. You dont make an appointment, you dont get to watch in the mirror ( which was one of the first stories I heard ), and you dont need to be in a hurry. Sit down . Enjoy the stories and just watch all the people come In and find out how their kids are or their families are. If you are in a hurry the parking lot has 2 entrances / exits. Ive pulled through many times . Even gone in and asked about how long, and said thank you. Ill be back. THIS LADY KNOWS HER BUSINESS. She knows how to cut hair and most times she skips lunch so YOU can keep your busy schedule. Sorry for the long rant but I was there today and heard a story that just plain made me mad. Did I mention she is Pro- second amendment. If she doesnt run the business the way you think she should. Get your own barbers liscence and start your own shop. Otherwise take a number (its on your right as you enter the door. ) Sit down and enjoy the people.You might figure out there are others in this world besides just you.Trim the brows but leave the middle please.Yes maam you remembered.Not a surprise

As soon as I walked in the lady told me they only cut mens hair. I have always gone to a barber shop to get my hair cut. I have been to several. I felt like this was a discrimination thing. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE. Never has any place turned me down as a customer to get my hair cut just because Im a girl. Most horrible experience ever. Not only did she make me feel uncomfortable, this was in front of others around in the shop. I would rate this place in the negatives if I could! My family that usually gets their cuts done will which I was recommended by will not longer getting their hair cut by red anymore.
