My short time at The Grove so far has been great. My apartment is like my own little piece of heaven. The walls are thin and the maintenance takes a while but those are small adjustments. The staff, neighbors and amenities are all excellent. I have glad I decided to make The Grove my home.

Weve been residents at the Grove for almost a year and we love it. The staff and neighborhood are very lovely. Issues are taken care of immediately. Everyone is just very friendly and give off positive vibes. We plan to extend our lease once its up. The community really feels like home. The grounds are always maintained beautifully and its just pleasant to be able to walk around the neighborhood and watch kids playing, families out by the grills, people exercising all the time and pups all over the place (either at the parks or walking by their owners) that are well behaved :)
Overall a good experience. The people in the office are super sweet and accommodating. I wish the building planners took a bit more time to insulate the walls. You can year your neighbors very easily and that can be rough!

Service request response was fast (24 hours) and accommodating (same-day). The two repairs we requested were handled skillfully and completely with complete resolution of our issues.
Great apartment, great response from staff and wonderful amenities. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that my neighbors are SO LOUD. There seems to be a dog constantly running around above us and a dog below us that starts barking at 4:30 am. Two dogs are constantly meeting outside and barking at each other. I referred one friend to this place but told her only to apply if she could guarantee a top floor apartment, preferably at the end of a building. The noise is the only thing keeping it from being a perfect living experience.
Lived in our first home here for almost two years. The property staff are always on top of the community events and keeping us informed with important information. Maintenance is timely and respectful and the community is Family and dog friendly with 4 dog parks, even if you do not own a pup, you can still enjoy seeing other furry friends. Our experience was a wonderful experience in our first home, with a shift in property managers and staff we have had the most wonderful stay. We will sorely miss calling the Grove home. Tucked away in Guilford County with a rural landscape and beautiful scenery. You cannot beat living at the Grove. 15 minutes from downtown Winston Salem, 20 minutes to Greensboro, you will never miss a beat.
When they finally show up service is good. It just takes a week or more to actually get around to coming. You would think with over a week of work backlogged they might have a better solution in place. Our AC went out in Spring both years. It’s a nice place if you don’t mind being without some amenities for an undetermined amount of time.
I love the staff at The Grove. Everyone is always professional, pleasant and helpful. My maintenance requests are always handled in a timely manner. Al is very polite, professional and capable. The Grove at Kernersville has quickly become the perfect place for me. I am so comfortable in this quiet and small community, with beautiful apartments and great people.
I never worry when i have a maintenance issue as ALL my experiences with Ricky and Al have been above exceptional. I appreciate that they are professional, friendly and very capable.And with regard to my experience over-all, I’m thoroughly satisfied and content raising my children surrounded by friendly neighbors and an office full of friendly and professional staff who seem very interested in making my family’s living experience fantastic. I’m continually grateful to have found such a lovely community.
We love it here! The dog parks are amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the residents AND staff are friendly, and we absolute love the variety in gyms and gym equipments. Would definitely recommend leasing your next apartment here!
We love calling The Grove our home. We recently moved from Maine and we couldnt have found a better home. Our children have a blast on the playground and in the pool thats open all year long.The events hosted by the staff are very impressive and we always have a great time! Definitely the best place weve ever called home from the apartment, community features, and the staff!The staff is extremely friendly, outgoing, and dedicated to the best customer service! We visit the office weekly for coffee, hot chocolate and snacks with our kids and always have a great experience.
Super slow response to maintenance issues which happen pretty often due to old appliances. You can certainly find a better place for the high rent youd pay.
Living here at the view has been amazing, the neighbors are extremely friendly. Management is top notch they are always willing to help. The area is well clean and kept up to date.
I am absolutely in love with this place, I moved this summer. From the moment I pulled in to tour, paperwork, to move-in both Abby and Kayuana provided stellar customer service! Each question I had they answered fully with a smile and were very helpful. They truly went above and beyond! I had been searching for weeks and this place is not just an apartment it is my luxury apartment home. My apartment is gorgeous, the dog parks are great, the pool is magnificent, the grilling areas, hammock park, tanning bed, and fitness center really make living here feel like being at a resort! The location is great, close to High Point, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro. I highly recommend The Grove, it was the best decision I ever made. Each and every single time I need anything I put in a service ticket and the maintenance team are absolutely awesome. PK and the entire maintenance team are so awesome. They are speedy and resolve issues quickly.
Went to their website, leaving a message, asking for a tour with a specific date and time. After 3 days and no contact I called. Spoke with the young lady that answered, I explained we wanted a tour of a two bedroom. I explained the date & time I would like. She said just come on in, no appointment was required. When I arrived, we waited on another group to finish talking with the ONE employee. When they were done we asked about seeing a two bedroom. She said none were available to see and looking at a one bedroom wouldn’t be worth our time.This told us all we need to know about the management of this complex.
The Grove at Kernersville has been a fabulous place to live. The apartments are spacious and bright, the staff is wonderful, and the workout area and pool are top notch. I would highly reccomend living here, especially if in need of a 3 bedroom apartment, as they are hard to find.

The location is awesome, everything that is essential for living is less than 10 miles away. The reason its not 5 stars is because there is not enough parking spaces. Neighbors are loud at night and are not considerate of people that have to get up early for work. I would recommend this to college students but not for people who are family oriented and want to have peace and quiet.

I dont think the owners of Grove have any idea how covid affected families. Such a shame for asking unreasonable fees for short term extentions.Reply to Groves comment below. We asked not once twice your manager to extend our lease 3-5 months due to uncertainty I was having with my job. You literally asked us to pay $250/month exra to do that. I asked the manager to check with the company as the covid negatively affected us just like it did anybody. She said she did and her exact words were if we did this for you, we had to do it for everyone. We didnt ask a discount! We just asked to extend the lease with the same conditions for 3-5 more months. So stop pretending as if you had no idea what I wrote about.

The front staff has worked with me well. Parking on my side is tight but not all over. Pool is pretty. Grills are convenient. The reason it is not a 5 is because of earlier experiences with different people at the front, parking, and personal neighbors. I’ve met some very nice people here. I’d encourage you to try the place out when looking. I’m not sorry I moved here. No place is perfect but I’m not unhappy. It’s close to work and the front really has worked with me.
Love this place! Staff friendly and helpful! Apartment is spacious, modern and up to date. Has wonderful amenities with nice playground for children, grilling area, pool, hammocks for leisure and entertainment. Workout center and walking trails. Social gatherings for tenants. Too much to mention.
We have lived at the Grove Apartments for almost a year now and have had a great experience! The apartments and community are well taken care of - the gym and pool are of resort quality and are a great bonus for our family. There has recently been a change in ownership of the community. We initially had concerns about the transition because the office staff under previous ownership was phenomenal, however, we have been pleasantly surprised to find that the new management is working hard to maintain the same quality of living in this community as we are accustomed to. We have already enjoyed the pool this season and are looking forward to the events that the management is planning. We are happy with our experience here and would recommend The Grove to friends!
We recently came from New York to visit our grand daughter at the Grove. They apartments are spacious and modern with everything one would want in a new home. The girls in the office were extremely friendly, outgoing in greeting us at the down and really made us feel welcome. The apartment complex was well kept and clean. The office was bright and welcoming too. We are thankful our granddaughter has found somewhere she feels safe and excited to call home!
The Grove is a great place to live the amenities really sell it! My only negative review would be you can hear people talking outside your Apartments. The lighting comes on too late in the hallways and I dont feel that its a kid friendly place, not much for them to do. But definitely more geared towards adults. Which is fine with me!
Wonderful amenities. Friendly staff who care about the feedback they receive. Love spending the summer at the pool and taking my small child on walks around the grounds. The new hammocks are a great addition and my family always feels safe here.

My partner and I flew in from Chicago, IL to view apartments near and around Greensboro, NC. We were relocating due new job/school opportunities. The Grove was the very first apartment complex that we visited and immediately knew that after meeting the office staff (Paul) and viewing the property that we would end up here. While we did see several other apartments with in the next 48 hours, The Grove was the only one that we submitted a application for. We received approval as well with in 24 hours which was fantastic. Paul is very knowledgeable and professional and is a delight to talk to. Comparing the pricing and staff here versus the pricing and staff at our Chicago apartment, we are beyond satisfied with the treatment that has been extended to us and they helped make our relocation a breeze. The area is quiet and tucked away but everything you need is just a few miles away. So glad we made this choice.

We love living here. The process has been easy and the community is quiet. There are great paved paths for us to walk our dog, plenty of dumpsters and pet stations. We live in the 1x1 and have more than enough space for the two of us. It is a place we love to call home!

The apartments itself are pretty good. If you dont take into consideration the walls are thin and you hear everything. The complex is under new management had I known this I would not have renewed my lease .Parking is the worst ever not big enough for the size complex . THE old staff is what made this community great . Always cleaned before the office opened community events planned by the manager. Pool was always spotless now there is dirt on the bottom . I still have plenty of time before my original lease is up but unfortunately the purchase of this property was not disclosed to the residents so looks like Im stuck but I will happily count ever day until I can leave this place .If I knew they would just let me go i would gladly pack up today . However I believe the only reason they did not disclose this buyout was so that everyone would not leave at the same time from how crappy this place is now.
They have no mercy during covid. Our lease is about to expire so we asked 3 month extension on the lease with our regular rent but were told we have to pay $300 extra/month if we do anything less than 12 months! Owners must be proud of themselves!
The staff is very helpful and friendly. The amenities are spectacular (beautiful pool, multiple gyms, tanning bed, dog parks, and a dog wash station!!) I honestly couldnt imagine living anywhere else!
Skinny lady at the office thinks she too cute to take the 2 seconds to find your package while she speaks for 30 minutes to someone else. finally she acknowledges me and yells me to go get my own package meaning any body can go grab any package they want so she doesnt have to get up. horrible management, do not live here. no wonder she was fired from my old apartments, thisbpkace has lowered their standard on who they want working here
Awesome place to live. Near to Volvo trucks, Qorvo, XPO and many other IT firms. Good for youngsters to work out and hang around the BBQ area with friends during weekends.
Came in for a tour of the apartments and this place is beautiful!! Staff was extremely friendly, professional and polite. You cant beat all the amenities Hawthorne offers. Hoping to move soon!
So far.... So GREAT! I have loved everything since the day I stepped in the front doors. The grove staff was extremely polite and spent plenty of time showing me the property. I came with my family and she was more than willing to show us multiple floor plans and take our time until we found the unit we wanted. We decided to move in shortly after due to the awesome move in specials! The best part is the rent is the full rent price. No extra fees for parking, trash removal, maintenance, etc. The rent is 899 and we pay 899- and WELL worth it!!We live in the 1 bedroom now (two of us) and it is beautiful!! Its always exciting to be the first one to live in your apartment (since they are new) and it really feels like a luxury home/condo. Granite counter tops, brand new appliances, plenty of space (900sq. Feet) and custom touches. Our one bedroom came with a HUGE garden tub with plenty of room to bathe and relax (with a curved shower rod too!)Plenty of paved paths in front, behind and around the buildings and amenities makes it easy to walk my dog too! Handfuls of pet stations make it easy to clean after my pup as well.Havent had a chance to use the pool but it is truly beautiful. Now, the gym is honestly an adult haven. They have practically anything anyone could want when it comes to equipment. Ive never seen a gym with more goodies in it. 24 hour usage with key fob.Cable and Internet is through time warner and the property rep has been great helping us set up.Gated community with fobs to enter. Intrusion alarm in my apartment too!Parking is open and we havent had an issue parking in front of our building yet.Our mail boxes are located in our covered building walk way which makes it super convenient to check each day after work.Needless to say, my experience at Hawthorne at the grove has been stellar and I am so happy I have decided to live here!! We were a little unsure about the prices but it is absolutely worth every penny in the quality service and comfort. It truly feels like home!

Very clean and spacious apartments, with a beautiful swimming pool, and a great workout area with new equipment the lounge area is gorgeous and staff was very friendly and helpful the price was fair the area was quiet and relaxing it was one of the top on our list of many that we had looked at

The Grove has went under new management and it shows! The lawns looks like trash, the dog waste receptacles are overflowing . We never would of renewed lease if we knew things would go downhill. They are expecting premium pricing without premium services. Looks decent from the outsiders view, dont fall into the trap.
Five stars doesnt begin to touch on how much we love living at Hawthorne at the Grove. We moved in back this summer back in July and our only regret is that we didnt move in sooner!! Every single member of the staff are absolutely wonderful! I have lived in many apartment complexs in the past where the staff was horrible, they always made me feel as if was bothering them if I called or came by the office with a question, maintenance issue, or even to get my packages that was delivered that day. At the Grove this is not the case at all. Zina, Bret, and James work so well together to make sure this place feels like a family. They truly Go the extra mile to customize every experience to the individual resident or customer. The other residents are super friendly and courteous to one another. All the facilities are kept in top condition and fully stocked around the clock. Bret is constantly coming up with new ways to cater to needs I didnt even know I had at the time! Everyone should at least stop by and see all the great things you are missing out on by not choosing the Grove!!
I must say that the new ownership and initial management change from Hawthorne to Stoneycreek was very rough on many of us residents. Many of the issues and reviews were during the transition and with the manager Stoneycreek original had in place. Now that Paul has been put into the management role it has been so much better! He and his staff truly do care about their residents and it shows. We are back to enjoying our resort like living and the grounds are back to being taken care of. We just enjoyed a wonderful social at the clubhouse for Halloween and what a wonderful spread it was! We can finally say that it is back to being a community feel. If you are hesitant to explore The Grove at Kernersville I can ensure you the issues have been resolved.
When we moved to Hawthorne at the Grove it was phenomenal, and I actually enjoyed apartment living for the first time. Hawthorne staff went above and beyond to address any issues that were raised. We never had anything that was questionable happen with our billing/agreements, the apartments were safe and residents were of the same mind like an actual community.This is NO LONGER a Hawthorne property. Hawthorne sold Hawthorne at Grove to a company in St. Louis.Firstly, the transition to the new property owners based out of St. Louis, WAS NEVER DISCUSSED with the residents before the leases were renewed. After everyone was locked in, Everyone received a letter saying there are new property owners and things are going to change. Within the first month (may 2017) our online billing was totally screwed up, and several times we had to get them a cashiers check to pay our rent.then after they finally figured out how to bill online (June), I arrived at my doorstep with an ALREADY OPENED letter in my door. Inside the letter was a bill. All it said was you owe the grove 30 dollars. So I brought this paper to the office and asked what this weird bill was about, and the attendant claimed it was our water bill, however our water is included in the rent according to the lease, then she nervously said Im sorry, your rent went up. I told her again we were slated in at our agreed price, as stated in the lease. She disappeared and talked to the manager and then replied with sorry something is screwed up in our billing AKA I have no idea what Ive just been saying to youThis one incident has been a small picture to how the entire property had been run as of May 2017. The office staff rarely replies to anyone, (I keep in touch with the remaining original residents). POLICE are regularly being dispatched into the complex, the residents that I knew have started moving out and being replaced with larger families with problematic friends accompanied.This apartment complex will be an awful mess of a nightmare in about a year and a half. Do yourself a favor and look at another complex. Were looking at Hawthorne at the meadows, hopefully Hawthorne wont sell these residents out too.
Recently my friend just moved into this apartments, and I was the lucky one that help her move in! I was amazed with everything being brand new. You have got to see the water jets shooting up in the pool!! My friend just got a new job at Novant, down the street. I am sad she moved so far away but I cant wait to visit!

Apartments are new and great inside the were recently bought by a new company. Employees are unprofessional and not knowledgable. There have been a number of problems since the change in management.

I used to love this property when it was managed by the prior management company. Thank GOD I heard it was being sold and found a new place to live because the new staff / owner is horrible! (I had the pleasure of a 2 week overlap between when they bought and when I moved. They dont respond to phone calls or emails, I had MULTIPLE packages go missing that were delivered to the office. They sent me my deposit refund check with my name of the NEW resident in my unit as well as mine (so the bank wouldnt deposit it), and now I cant get them to respond to me via email or phone to find out where my NEW check is. The staff is super unfriendly, immature, and unprofessional. Its like a shopping experience at Abercrombie & Fitch. If you went in expecting to be ignored, looked down upon, and treated like trash... then your in the right place!
Upon move in I fell in love with the helpful office staff, pristine grounds and spacious, brand new apartments. Unfortunately since Hawthorne at the Grove became The Grove at Kernersville, I cant wait for my lease to end so I can get far far away from here. Being on the second floor has been a nightmare, I can hear every single footstep of my upstairs neighbor and conversations of the people below me- the walls are about as thin as the bags provided for pet waste. The lawn is mowed maybe twice a month so Im thankful my dog is tall enough to not be lost in the jungle of foot tall grass. What was once a community of professional individuals with monthly events of pizza and wine nights or corn hole tournaments has quickly changed into a McDonalds play-place filled with slime-parties and screaming children roaming about unsupervised. The new front office staff are not only entirely awful to deal with, they never answer the phones, return emails, or are available during their normal business hours to help people get their packages. Theyve been managing the grounds for over two months now and have still yet to figure out the online rent portal. Im counting the days until my lease is up so I can join the daily entourage of U-Haul trucks loading up to get the heck out of here.
I totally agree with all the most recent reviews. A year ago I wrote an outstanding review for Hawthorne at the Grove but now that new management has taken over and it became The Grove at Kernersville everything has gone downhill quick. To sum it up as the others did: we had to ask for the grass to be cut in the dog park, computers and printers were broken for about a month, the grill stopped working one weekend, they never answer the phones and youre lucky to be noticed when you walk into the office. I put in a service request for light bulbs to be changed and got home that evening and of course no new light bulbs. Called and was told they were out of light bulbs...would have been nice to know. Put in another request SPECIFICALLY for a Friday so that I could have my dogs out of the place but they decided to come on their own time. Everything is extremely unorganized and these people have no idea how to run a luxury property. My boyfriend and I joined the MANY moving trucks and got out of there as quick as we could. I would advise anyone to pass on paying the almost $1200 dollar rent when most amenities are not properly working a majority of the time.

Cannot agree more with the most recent reviews of this place. From the unprofessional staff to the mysterious bills left at my door with no explanation to the poorly taken care of pool (which is supposed to justify our 1200+ rent/month), this place is trash. Renters beware...
