This place is absolutely amazing! We needed somewhere short term to stay while we were selling our house/looking for a new one. Heather was incredibly welcoming and made sure we were well taken care of. If you are looking for a new place to call home give them a call!

Amazing customer service from the staff, Heather and Celeste since the very first day I inquired about the property. They were very easy to contact and made me feel like I was important which instantly let me know this place was for me and my family. The property is always clean and management handles issues in a timely manner. Great place to live!

The residents of Kerner Mill are exceptionally wonderful & make my job enjoyable. Our community is nestled in a great residential neighborhood. I have been living here for about three months and have no complaints. The office staff has been great to work with, very nice, polite, and understanding. Maintenance has been quick to respond and polite if there is an issue. The grounds seem to be well maintained and beautiful. The Townhouses themselves have a good amount of space and a good layout. Having a covered patio is great when it rains to have a place to sit and relax. So far it has been a great experience and will continue to live here for the foreseeable future.

Celeste and the Kerner Mill Townhome Staff were wonderful to work with. I was with this community for about 6 months while I was making some life transitions. If it was not for those transitions I would still be with this community. if I am ever in the market for another town home this will be my first stop. Thank you so much Celeste for the wonderful service and easy transitions.

The townhomes are located in a neighborhood that is very quiet and private. The administrative staff is very professional and easy to work with. The maintenance crew is quick to respond and fixes things right away.

Fantastic place to live! I’ve been here a couple years now and it’s quiet and so peaceful! Celeste and Heather are the absolute best! Always attentive and giving outstanding customer service! Maintenance is exceptional and quick to respond. Definitely recommend you come and see for yourself.

Kerner Mills Townhomes are awesome!!!! The staff of Celeste and Heather is an excellent team, they go over and above and beyond, with their service, their friendliness and always prompt with any maintenance situation that may arise. They treat people like its their own family even the maintenance men. ( Malik and Diego). This is a very peaceful area it’s very quiet and it is a great place to call home. This is a community where the management staff of Celeste and Heather through the newsletters updates the residence of not just things that’s going on in the community, but things that are going on throughout the world since the pandemic of COVID-19. I gave them two thumbs up it is a great place to live!!!!!! :-)

Best and safest place to rent in Kernersville! The office staff are very sweet and really care about the residents, they actually remember who you are. When my garbage disposal broke and I told them no rush maintenance showed up the same day and fixed it! You constantly see maintenance guys running around making sure everything is good. They installed security lights outside, new toilets, new shower heads and new faucet aerators in bathrooms. Besides that, everything works, the neighbors are great, and I highly recommend renting from Kerner Mill Town Homes!!

I have never been so disrespected by a leasing agent before, but Celeste, you take the cake. The TL;DR of this review is do not trust them, their professionalism, or their website.On Wednesday, I left a message for someone to call me back to make an appointment for a tour on Saturday, because, per their website, they are only open on Saturday by appointment only. I never received a call back. I called again on Thursday and had to argue with Celeste to make an appointment for a tour on Saturday because me and my boyfriend work Monday through Friday. Saturdays are our only option to tour any apartment. Only after pushing did Celeste say okay for an 11am appointment. I was appreciative and cordial and I looked forward to meeting them on Saturday.We got to the leasing office on the rainy, cold, Saturday morning at 10:50am and found no one there. We waited in the car in their future resident parking spot. No one showed up until 11:30. We walk in and Celeste said, Oh are you Sarah? No... Im Angel. I made an appointment on Thursday for 11am. Oh, okay, and she welcomed us and asked for our details. She filled out a form and asked again if my name was Sarah. What on earth, I just told you not 1 minute ago that my name is Angel. Then she asked what our budget was and I said that we were looking at the $825 townhome on their website. Oh all of our units are renovated, so they will all be more expensive than that. I said that their website was misleading, which was putting it mildly. Their website is a complete lie. And I have never been more disrespected in all my life. I hope Celestes boss reads this and is appalled at the way we were treated. This unprofessionalism and disrespect is unbecoming of any company. Do not even try to reach out to them, they are a waste of your time.EDIT: I just received a call from their leasing agent asking for Summer and if I was still coming for a tour. They have my number on file for a completely different person. Everyone reading these reviews, be warned. This place is completely unorganized and no one should have the misfortune of having to deal with their incompetence.

New owners are greedy crooks. We’ve lived here for 2 years and love our neighbors. New owners took over and are forcing current lease holders to purchase a cable package when they renew. No grandfathering. In America you pay for services you want and agree to. In order to stay living in the community being forced to buy something you don’t use which is an example of money hungry leadership out of touch with the source of their income.

Super friendly staff. Beautiful townhomes. New pool and clubhouse. Dogs allowed. Gorgeous neighborhood. If I ever have a problem they are quick to respond and correct.

I chose Kerner Mill Townhomes because I wanted to be in a quiet area. It is so convenient from 40 Business Highway. Maintenance is always on top of things when you need them. Ive been here for one year and will continue to stay this is home for me.

The units are fairly nice and the grounds are generally well-kept, but both management companies have given us problems from day one. The original management under Pope Companies was incredibly slow to respond to maintenance requests. I took a list of small list of basic requests to the office shortly after moving in and it took no less than two weeks for even one of them to be addressed. One such request had to do with water pressure in the shower. The fix involved opening a large rectangular hole in the wall in the bedroom on the other side of the shower. After it was taken care of, it took more than a month for someone to show up (unannounced, by the way) and repaint the wall where the hole was repaired.The new management, an apparently independent company in place as of October 2017, may actually be worse. After a fairly heavy snowstorm in January 2018, many of the sidewalks around the complex were covered in snow which eventually became compacted into thick ice by foot traffic. They remained in this hazardous condition for around a week with no attention from the groundskeeping crew. Some tenants eventually handled it themselves. When pressed for a reason, management said something about taking action to remove the snow leaving them liable in case of injury afterward. Weve also been stuck for the last couple days in an argument about whether or not theyll honor a free month originally promised to us on the lease signed with Pope Companies. Naturally, Pope Companies cant seem to do much for us on the issue and the new management wont budge. According to a few other tenants, this is actually not an isolated case either.Overall, though the living spaces are nice, I would suggest skipping Kerner Mill Townhomes and looking elsewhere for a place to live.

We relocated from Arizona and needed a place to rent while we searched for a home.So we rented sight unseen and are very pleased with the people we have worked with and the neighbors are very friendly.The Townhomes are extremely nice and are in a nice quiet location.If any problems arose which were few, maintenance was very quick and efficiently resolved the problem.Maleek in maintenance is a very sweet young man who is always pleasant and does a fantastic job and has vast knowledge.Celeste and Jackie who are the complex manager and assistant manager are very friendly and always are very polite and considerate.They both have very welcoming and warm personalities.I instantly felt instantly at home here.Celeste and Jackie treat you like you are more than just renters and I felt that way while making calls from Arizona with questions as well.They never were irritated with me over the many questions I contacted them with over and over.( Myself personally, I would have been aggravated over the endless calls)I have not rented for over 25 years so I didn’t know what to expect.)I was pleasantly surprised.They also have a brand new pool which is beautiful and even has a handicap lift for those who need assistance getting in and out of the pool.There are ample umbrellas with tables to get out of the sun if you want to and also ample lounge chairs to tan on.There are also padded couches to comfortably relax on.There is also plenty of parking and even a dog park.Before the units are newly rented to another tenant they have professionals who thoroughly clean and the Townhomes are like they never even had an animal ever lived in it.So for anyone who is wary of renting somewhere that they accept animals there is absolutely no issue with that at all.There are so many positives to renting here that I cannot list them all.I would gladly recommend these Townhomes to friends or family and would not have a problem making this complex my home if I have not been looking to purchase a home.SincerelyKaren S

I have lived in Kernermill Townhomes for three years now and I love it! It is clean, safe and we now have a pool, a dog park and a playground area for children. It has been a wonderful place to live and I will reside here until I purchase my home. I loved Gloria who was our previous manager and now I am grateful for Celeste and Jackie. The townhomes are beautiful inside and well kept on the outside. If you are a professional, or a small family looking for a safe environment for your children or an older adult looking for a low maintenance place, look no further Kernermill Townhomes is YOUR place!

There are several reasons I would not recommend renting in the Kerner Mill Townhomes community.First, there are no security alarms or security practices in place as is advertised. There have been other forms of dishonesty from the property managers as well. We signed a 13 month lease with the understanding that one month was guaranteed to be rent free. The property manager working for Pope Companies did not complete one piece of the required paperwork, that renters are unaware exists, so Pope and the new property managers, Gateway, are all too happy to refuse the rent free month...even stating, Do what you want. Its your credit.Maintenance has been a joke. Some issues took nearly two months to be addressed. Two issues have still not been addressed a year later.Most recently, property managers have refused to clean or treat icy sidewalks. All of the north facing buildings shade their sidewalks and they remained treacherous for nearly a week. Residents have fallen. We pay a $50 a month Maintenance Fee in our rent. I am not sure what we have been paying for during the winter months.Last, no one is mentioning the fact that a major highway is being constructed along the back side of the Kerner Mill property. The construction noise is very loud. I am sure the traffic noise will be even worse and 24 hours a day when the highway opens.

It is rare that I ever leave a negative review because I know how it can affect the business, but in this case I couldn’t wait any longer. After ownership changed for these townhomes a lot of other things did as well. I have been renting since 2009 and have never counted down the days until my lease was over. Even though here it doesn’t matter when you’re lease expires if you haven’t let them know 60 DAYS IN ADVANCE that you may be moving out then they will charge you afte your lease expires. Even though they never contact you or let you know when that 60 days is happening. I have never lived in a community that didn’t accept a 30 day notice. Pope companies cared about the individual and their reputation in the community, as did the manager who worked on site. Unlike our new managers, from countless empty promises(like a pool, dog park, and community center by spring 18) to the lack of willingness to help their residence. As the last two reviews started during the winter it was a complete hazard to walk outside your front door. Multiple complaints have been made about owners not picking up dog droppings around the apartment but you will still find a mess if you even try to walk through the grass, and the countless spiders, bees, and other bugs that surround the community(even though pest control is supposed to be included). The trash and debris that is behind my building seems to be increasing by the week. There are fallen trees, old Christmas trees, and just plain trash dumped behind my building. For the price you would pay here I can almost guarantee that you will find a better fit anywhere else.
