We moved here two months ago as of this review. So far we’ve loved how quiet and friendly the community has been, as well as how convenient having everything in Kernersville be so close. We love the layout and design of our one bedroom, but what pushes this review to 5 stars is the staff here at Hawthorne at Main.Kelly leased us and she was considerate of our needs and knowledgeable. Since then, Madalyn and Lyndsay have been accommodating and professional in transitioning our apartment into our home. Nathan went above and beyond to fix our AC over the weekend. Eddie and Alan worked on our fridge and did a quick, but thorough job. I love the team assembled here and they really make our life here easy!If youre looking for a new home, keep HM in your sphere of consideration; we love it here!

My girlfriend and I rent an apartment in Cardinal Townhomes owned and operated by Hawthorne. This review is NOT for their main complex. Id like to start by saying the staff experience Ive had with them has been nothing short of amazing. Due to covid money has been extremely tight. They will work with you on your rent and honestly the best staff Ive encountered in the four other apartments Ive rented over the last 12 years. High praise to them for sure. Now to the reason I gave a four star is because even with a great staff theres problems with their maintenance team. Slow, disorganized, and seem to be lazy. They have had two mandatory maintenance checks since we moved in to change filters check for leaks ect.. Assuming they were doing their jobs I did not check behind them. That is till our AC unit went out. I decided to check to see if the system was frozen over and to my dismay I discovered it was and that the filter had NOT been changed and was back dated to before we moved in. To make matters worse it has been five, yes 5 days since I called telling them the AC unit was frozen and during the thawing it was not draining and pouring onto the floor. (They did say that they tried to come the day I called) However my girlfriend was home the whole day and she said they never came. After ruining my own towels to soak up nasty moldy water that clearly wouldnt be if said filter was changed like it should be. It has reached a peak temp of 88 degrees in the apartment with a avg of 82 since it went down. Not one ounce of urgency has been seen in regards to the issue. I also hate to say it but the damages now caused by this issue will most likely to fall onto us to pay for once we move. I will update review when the issue is handled.Update-- After a fast response and explanation by the once again amazing team, I have updated to a 5 star. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, this is a great company to rent from. I look forward to the remaining time I have to spend here!

Please be aware before you sign your lease! I was promised when I re upped my lease for a carpet clean, a sink faucet updates, and blinds were going to be fixed. I also put in multiple request for things to get fixed it never happened or poor job was done. I was moving, they kept all of my deposit almost and stated I left stuff unfinished and etc. I didn’t leave trash they were new detergent, paper towels, I was okay with them charging the trash fee. Before, I moved, I gave them my new address. They owed me deposit and nothing was mailed to my place. I even had my mail forward it to my new place. I called multiple times. I asked them to send out my deposit over and over they made false promises. I moved out in July and now it’s January- still didn’t get my deposit back. I was told how they were going to overnight it. Still waiting... Please do not rent from here. They will do everything in their power to keep your deposit and maintenance issues are never resolved! Also, please get everything in writing because when I re upped the old manager left and new one came. Nothing was documented in my file. If I can give this place a 0 I would! Do not rent from here.

Katie gave my roommate and I a very pleasant experience touring the community today. She was informative, friendly, and we felt confident in the information she provided. We drove around the grounds and there was no trash, residents were friendly, and there were plenty of amenities that were well cared for and clean. This felt like an A+ property and Katie sold it beautifully!

We have lived here about 6 years. We enjoy our amenities very much as seniors. Coffee, hot chocolate, fresh baked cookies daily. Bus. Center and gym open 24/7. We enjoy our warm season cooking out at Pavillion and pool Deck.

Great place to live in Kernersville. Office staff and maintenance is always caring and attentive. only good things happen here.

My god daughter moved in with her fiance and they had a house warming...this is such a nice complex!! The apartment is very spacious for a one bedroom and I loved the layout! Overall, a great place, plus now she lives nearer!

I have family that live there and is continuing dealing with issues from there office... when it snowed heavily there was no shoveling and cleaning of snow... mind you that my family living there also care for children and a disabled child... it was impossible to move and when called for help with this situation they did not care or even try to help with this situation... a situation that should have been no problem to fix... other tenants have pets, and do not pick up there droppings... the office again can easily help this situation at all...my next step is to call there corporate office with many complaints... do not move here if your looking... there are better places...

Im writing this for my relative. She says there are too many shady characters hanging out around the apartments and parking lot. The loud music from the neighbors keeps her up at night. She said it use to be a great place to live but now its just about filling up the apartments with anyone and collecting the checks.

You can walk to the shops, grocery store, church. Location is in the thick of it. Im sure they win awards for their staff. They are always nice, helpful and accommodating. Property is well maintained.

My 88-year-old mother lives here alone in a ground floor garden apartment. She loves it there!

Just left Hawthorne after a few years. When we first rented the management was great. Over time we have gone through change in management at least 5 times. No structure. Certain residents who have been there for years try and run things and make it very clicky.Upstairs noise is very bad, so just understand if you are on bottom level it will be loud.Our dog has been lunged at by a pitbull in the housing. Which to me isnt the dogs fault, but no control by the owner.Our building had what most called the apartment snitch..basically watching every move made.Yes grown men urinated by a tree by the grill center..not cool at all..kids were in the pool that night.I guess every complex has these problems, but for the price you may as well live at Lindsey..we also just had two ottomans stolen from right in front of our door that were delivered..this was during the day. What a shame.I guess things change..

They need some renovations, the outside of the facility needs tender love and care. Staff is really insightful and kind.

Worst place to live since new management company took over. Staff is uncaring and rude. Overpriced complex with horrible maintenance staff. Seek residence elsewhere to avoid the staff and managers. You have been warned. Been here 13 years. Getting out of here before it gets worse, if it possibly can. Stay away if you can.

People living here that havent gone through a criminal background check. So its a roll of the dice as to whos living beside you.
