My hood release was damaged after going to this service station and I am having to repair it right now. I am furious with the service received, not only could they not do the repair I needed but they damaged my car, wasting my time.***********Reply to owner:It is true that I don’t have definitive proof that you damaged my car, but I do know the following:On August 4:- Your team discovered the damage.- You and your team did not inform me that the hood release was discovered as damaged .August 10:- I discovered the damage and returned to your shop- You confirmed that the hood release was discovered damaged.- You advised me to go to a body shop to get it released and then come back.The problem I have is the following:- Letting me leave your shop with a hood release that was broken and not informing me of this that day. I need to trust that the service shop I use will fully inform me of the condition of my vehicle.- Advising me to go to a body shop to release the hood shows the lack of ability or willingness to solve the issue. If I were to get it released at a body shop, I would then have the issue of getting the vehicle back to your shop without it being securely held down.My solution:- I found a service shop to fix the issue.- I left this post since I received a survey request via email.- Not sure why you are negatively describing my 2001 S4 Avant, it has been a great car for me and I wish to keep it on the road as long as possible. Same with my 2017 Audi Q7 and my 56 Ford Victoria.All of the above are facts. Maybe you didn’t damage my car, I don’t have the proof either way, but the above experience is disappointing.

I needed cv boot and possibly axel replacement. I called around for many different quotes. They were so kind and very informative right off the bat. I asked uneducated and educated questions about the service, the cost, the timing, the parts and many more.They were patient, knowledgeable, and very thorough with their explanations and did not judge me, as a woman, asking uneducated questions about the service.I dropped my car off when it was time for my appointment and they assured me that my car would be ready the same day. It was! And even better yet, the price was fair and lower than everyone else’s. Other’s told me they had to include other things in the service in order to preform the service that I needed. Dykstra’s explained to me that they will not perform any service that does not need to be.I 100% will be back to Dykstra‘s if the need ever presents itself again.

The staff with whom Ive interacted are extremely welcoming, professional, friendly and take time to explain recommendations and also answer questions (especially grateful since I dont know a ton about all the mechanics of cars). I used this company once 5 years ago to repair a flat tire I had. I was actually happy with the tire replacement and speed at which they did it. When I went in, I mentioned two other specific issues that I wanted to know if they could fix.When I got a call, they had done a full inspection of the vehicle for $100 and highlighted $3,000 worth of things needing fixed. It was a beater car, this was not what I asked.I told them that I had not asked them to do this, and had to argue for hours with staff and managers about it. Eventually they did opt not to charge me for the inspection.Since that time, I have received e-mails, phone calls, and text messages from this company about oil change services, brake services, and other random advertisements. It has been over 15 separate advertisements. Every single time i try and OPT OUT of being contacted in this manner, and yet its still 5 years later and Im still getting messages from them.I will never use this shop again.Edit: theyve just claimed their opt out system isnt working. Thats 5 years of me telling them to stop spamming me, opting out, and unsubscribing. Quite the system failure over 5 years. Wonder how long it will take them to get your car right.

I had new shock n struts installed and an alignment. They did end up becoming faulty and they performed warranty fixes on the parts and I could not be happier. They care about their customers and they do good work. Will definitely keep going for repairs that I cannot perform myself.

Came in with a dragging heat shield after a snowstorm, that was just picking up snow and was going to eventually just snap off. Not being from the area, I lucked into finding this shop near our hotel, timing worked out and they got me fixed up and back on the road within half an hour! Saved my wife and I’s trip. These guys are great. Called in the morning because I had car problems. I got there they didn’t know what I was talking about, well I had called the wrong place but they got me in checked out my car. I was having a very bad week but they took care of everything for me, gave me a loaner car. I will definitely go back to them again.

I came early and they took my vehicle back right away. And then they completed the job 10 minutes before they had said it would be done! Her facility and waiting area is pristine and clean. Love the coffee and the sitting area.

Dykstras Auto has the best customer service, whether its over the phone or in person. They give you their full attention and make sure all your questions are answered. After each visit, they send a Conditions Report via email with a full work up on what was done on the vehicle. How do I even start. The service and workers here are so nice! We went in because the belly pan of our car was dragging on the ground and we didnt know what to do. We called ahead of time and Nick answered and was super accommodating about appointment times since we got out of work after their hours. When we got there they quickly took a look at the car and fixed it on the spot. They didnt charge us anything for it. Definitely a place we will return to if we need future car fixes.

Dykstras Auto Service provides the best of service with friendly and helpful staff. They provide a detailed report and consult before fixing anything. Their Fix N Fly program is an added bonus for the Patterson location and provides convenient shuttle service while your car is being fixed while you are on a business trip or vacation.

We had an emergency come up at the airport parking lot and they squeeze us in before the end of the day so I didnt have to make an extra trip back. I cant express how happy I was that that was able to work out saving me time and money.

Not one to usually write reviews, but this one takes the cake. Not happy at all with the service I received from Dykstras. I had my car worked on a month ago by them and everything they “fixed” I have since had to have redone. They forgot to do a portion of the repair and had to go back a week later for them to take care of it. It was at that time that they told me when, not if, the check engine light came back on, everything they had done would need to be redone... It is safe to say I will not be bringing any of my future business to them and will tell anyone to avoid them as well. Wish there was an option for negative stars.

I regularly used their Hudsonville location for two years because they were right near my work. I could drop off my car and walk to work, so it was very convenient. They have always been very honest and open. They tell you what the issue is before fixing it. If they are not sure what the issue is, they will not just fix things to figure it out to get your money. If they fix something that does not fix the issue, they will take it back and look more into it right away at no charge. They always make sure to schedule you so you never have to go without a vehicle, either by fixing yours that same day or by getting you a loaner car. They have always been amazing to me and their customer service is incredible.I have since switched jobs so they were no longer used for convenience. When I started having issues with my car one day a few months later, I learned of their other office in Kentwood which is where I am at regularly. I stopped by on the day before new years and they willingly took my car in and got it fixed that same day, even though they were booked out an entire week. For how incredible their services are, they are prices are very good. They will continue to be my go-to place if I have car issues. I highly recommend them.

Unfortunately for the kind people at Dykstras my service experience was not a good one. I had taken the car in for a grinding noise in the front. After assuring me it was the tires and $400 later I got the car back with the exact same noise. So I took it back in. This time they said it must be the front wheel bearings -- so another $600. When I picked the car up and drove it way it was making a different scraping sound (worse than before and easily noticed by my 16 yr old daughter). Sure enough they did not put the heat shields on correctly. What amazed me is that on 2 different occasions they gave the car back claiming it was fixed while clearly not driving it to be sure. I am not a car guy. I need to trust that my mechanic can do the job and is doing what they say they are. In this instance Dykstras did not.

Ive been using Dykstras for eight years and have never been disappointed. Their service is fast and reliable. I love the way they explain what needs to be done and why in a way that an average person can understand. They have helped me many times to prioritize repairs so that I can budget and plan. Theyve always tried to provide me with a loaner when possible. A couple of times Ive shopped around to see if the work could be done cheaper elsewhere and Ive always found Dykstras at least few hundred dollars cheaper than the next quote. Highly recommended.
