I recently moved from Liberty to midtown KC and was getting tired of driving several miles multiple times a month for my nails and pedicures. So I looked at several reviews for nail salons and decided that I would try Lux. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and it was okay.Pros: It was very easy to make an appointment online. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was able to get the manicure done at the same time as my pedicure so I got in and out. Vivian did an excellent job shaping my nails as I asked.Cons: The gel polish did not last long. After 3 days it started chipping but that could have been my error as gel never lasts long for me. At my old nail salon they open a new package of tools for each pedicure. They did not do this here and so I questioned the overall cleanliness. I did not like having to pay a tip using Cash App / Venmo. Of course cash is preferred but I didn’t have any that day. Also, I went back a week later to have the gel polish removed as it looked terrible, but they were not open. Per Google and the sign on their door they open at 10am on Tuesday. I was there at 10:30 and they were not open. See the date and time on my car dashboard and the non lit open sign in the storefront window.Overall: I think I’ll stick with my old salon T&V nails in Liberty. They are amazing!

Hands down best nail salon in Midtown- if not the whole city. This salon offers top notch service and a personable attitude. Ive never felt awkward at this salon ONCE and they always listen and deliver on my crazy design ideas. Plus the owner is a gem. Highly recommended!

The staff is unprofessional when you ask them to correct a service or provide a refund. My gel manicure started chipping after about 3-4 days. The technician told me it was because of my nails but upon seeing other reviews, I see that others received poor to mediocre services as well. Upon asking for a refund, Nancy proceeded to make a spectacle by raising her voice and was unapologetic and quite defensive.

Amazing nail salon! Clean, runs on time. I saw Nancy and she took great care of me, but everyone on the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Really like how my nails came out the tech fix some issues I had with my nails from a different place without me even asking. I said I wanted something rainbow and she came up with a design o really love. She also did my daughters nails for the first time and was quite patient with her. And her nails came out super pretty. Definitely will go back.

I left HALF done. This woman was so horrific and greedy. I asked how much the nails would be she said “let me think” “35 for full set and 5 for sharp shape and 10 DOLLARS for length. These nails were nothing special not super long not super short. I don’t mind paying extra I have for years but NO OTHER SALON has asked that much. I even asked if it would be 5 dollars less to get no color. NOPE. What a horrible place it looked disgusting inside and so we’re all of their personalities wasn’t just the price.

The lady was Very unprofessional my nail broke within three days. The quality wasn’t as good as either . Still left a tip!

This is a great place! I felt very welcome. Ms. Tina and I think JJ took really good care of me. Especially during my pedicure. I have had other nail techs that were kind of aggressive around my cuticles but here it was just right. I will be recommending this place to my friends.

A little disappointed 😓 I had always wanted to try this place. I had an appointment around 5:45pm on a weekday. I scheduled a brow wax & mani/pedi. They didnt seem very organized. Only 1 girl already doing nails so guy came out & hurriedly got the foot spa going. The pedicure was decent. Massage part was great but the product used & grooming part not the best. While waiting for my toenails to dry, he hurriedly did butch job of a manicure. This was about hour & a half & I wasnt feeling like sticking around for the brow wax & I felt like they hoped I didnt either. $75 total Sorry to say, I dont think Ill be going back.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I got my gel polish removed here. The nail tech didnt seem to want to wait for the gel to soak off with the acetone and aggressively took an electronic nail file to my nails. It has been over a month and you can see how far down he stripped my nails from the ridges that are still visible. My nails are very brittle and wont fully recover until theyre grown out. Very disappointed that a simple gel removal ruined my nails for a good 3 months.

Prompt, friendly service and in my neighborhood, and they have some of the best prices in town. I went to another salon last week because it was convenient to the other errands I had to run, and after I got over the shock of paying over twenty dollars more for the same manicure I get from Jenny, but without the friendly conversation and a pedicure from someone who barely spoke to me, and I had to ask for something to drink when my throat got dry from breathing the dust of grinding off my old manicure. (I never have to ask for a drink when Im here. Its always offered, immediately and it never runs dry.) As I was walking out the door I said to myself that I would never make the mistake of going anywhere else to have my nails done again. Ive never cheated on my husband, but I feel like I cheated on my manicurist.

First time in since COVID-19, they are doing a great job at keeping everything sanitized and utilizing masks. The service was great as usual.

Loved this place! Was having a rough morning when I came in. The tech offered me a drink, I took a wine at 9 o’clock in the morning!! I’ve never felt so more relaxed in a beautiful setting salon. Quality nails I’ll definitely be back!❤️

I was first nervous coming into a place I’ve never been into before but the staff was super friendly and made me feel at ease. As a Mexican, I grow a lot of hair on my face but I had such a great experience. Jenny did great giving me a facial (wax) and she was so kind. Not only did she do amazing but she went out of her way to try and make my skin feel better, stopping the stinging sensation. No other salon I’ve gone to has tried to do that for me! 10/10! I’m definitely coming back. Would recommend.

I love my nails. The ladies there were amazing. Even though they were under staffed they were still great. They offered me something to drink numerous times and conversed with me to make me comfortable. If I hadnt moved to Dallas, TX this would be my regular spot but I definitely will come back whenever Im in town!

This is the first place Ive gone where my nails actually dont chip, peel, or bubble. They last until they grow out. They have a really nice Cat Eye color palette. They arent the cheapest or most expensive but they are worth it because the nails last. Ive been going here for over 2 months now, every time its been positive.

What I loved: 1. The website works flawlessly, It was super easy to register for an appointment and the place was available in less than 24hour notice. 2. The building is new, nicely decorated and looks clean and modern. 3. The stuff is friendly and polite. 4. THEY WORK ON SUNDAYS! Thats awesome, guys. 5. They have a great choice of polishes, competitive prices and the place was open on time. So, nice organization, business practices, etc. *********What I did not like: the quality of the manicure. The gentleman who performed it did not seem experienced at all. Even though he was trying, my nails do not look like I went to a nail place. I had an errand in the city and no time to address the imperfections with the manicurist. Overall, I would probably try them again, but request a different specialist. P.S. On day 7 of my gel manicure, the gel started peeling off all nails. So, I probably wont come there again and definitely wont recommend this place.

I’ve been to this salon four times for dip manicures. My first experience was great! The gentleman technician helped me pick a flattering color and the manicure lasted three weeks. However, the last three times I’ve gotten dip nails here I was helped by a younger woman and the manicure has never lasted more than a week. (This is without me picking, washing dishes, etc.) Considering the manicure is $40+, this is extremely disappointing. I wonder whether something in the young lady’s technique is incorrect considering my first manicure done by another technician lasted so long and any of the ones she has done chipped off very quickly? Regardless, since this has happened three times now, I think I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Went in for a pedicure and acrylics with my sisterGot my pedicure, went by faster than usual but honestly I was excited about that! Until she suddenly walked away, and worked on others and I was left sitting for 30 minutes after my pedicure was doneAnd just decided not to do my acrylics anymore...My sisters nails were for her wedding and were done rushedAnd sloppy and they didn’t dry them before they rushed us off

I’m a newbie at Lux Nails & Wax, and I had the pleasure of getting my nails done by Jenny. She did an awesome job on my nails. I had got a Fullset and the popular “coffin style” done. I will be coming back as a regular!!

We had appointments and were the first and only customers but still had to wait. 1 of the 3 manicures was not good, very quick and much more basic than the other two. They were quite pushy about getting dip when we said many times we wanted the gel.

Super disappointed with how this salon handled my appointment, and I will not be back.

1st visit (2 stars) : The younger girl seemed to know what she was doing and was going to do my nails. Then I was passed off to an older gentleman who took forever and did a bad job with the dip powder. Its thick and lumpy. What was supposed to be a quick visit over lunch, was a disappointment.I may try again but only with the younger girl, I think someone called her Jennifer.Clean, nicely decorated salon.2nd visit (4 stars) : Jenny did my nails and did a very nice job. Very aware of how long it took and made sure to get me done over lunch. I would go back to her.

They cut my foot with a pumice stone and did not perform any form of first aid. They also did not throw away the pumice stone, which is extremely unsanitary. I gave two stars instead of one because everyone was very pleasant and friendly, but maintaining a clean and safe business is extremely important. I will not be coming back.

Went in to have my acrylic nails soaked off and asked to have a pedicure while they soaked. They didn’t want to soak them at the same time so waited until nearly the end of my pedicure to start. I was clear when I arrived that I had just under 2 hours until I had to pick up my son. Plenty of time. 2 hours later I had to leave with my nails only half-way soaked off to pick up my child. Nail techs kept bouncing from customer to customer and not in the order in which they arrived. My nails look worse now than when they started and they still charged me full price. Please get organized.

Got nails done at foxy nails they did horrible looked like a child practiced on my nails honestly. I asked them to just remove the horrible paint job n jewels that were on my nails and try to paint them to look decent till I get a new set. The girl did good she of course removed the terrible polish and jewels. She tried to even out the acrylic and make it look some what decent and managed pretty well they look basic but proffessional not child play. Thanks to her last minute fix sucks I paid for a hole set at foxy nails today they did horrible and a quick fix lux gave me now they are decent enough to live with till they come off.

I was there Monday and I wanted to treat myself...so I walked into this beautiful place👀..it is soooooo beautiful n relaxing...I felt the Zen...truss...I got this set called the dip set..it was new to me but my manicurists did it like a pro💅💅💅💅💅...she had my once man hands looking all fabulous and stuff..yes its pricy..but truss its so friggin worth it♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️..thank you Lux Nails...Im coming back ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
