Acton’s is a quality establishment. They’ve never tried to trick my wife into paying for things she doesn’t need (like other auto shops have done), they are honest, hardworking, and always do their best. Happy to take my car there, even though I’ve moved farther away since I started using their services.

Show up this morning to get a state inspection and did know you were supposed to make a appointment. Guy was nice enough to go ahead and do my car. Location was very out of my area but definitely would recommend

Went for a state inspection ($12), they failed the truck for 2 reasons: REASON 1 Power Steering pressure hose leaking (that was legit, so they earn 2 stars). However, I can’t handle REASON 2: They said my tie-rod ends were TOO RUSTY and brittle (RFQ = $350) In the picture, see the part hanging down? That’s my tie-rod end, I went home and took it off to inspect myself. Only SURFACE rust, structurally sound. Took to another place for inspection and it passed. (BTW, I fixed the leaky hose myself.). So why did Acton “rust out” my tie rod ends? Either too lazy to rub off a little rust or dishonesty, but I don’t appreciate people selling me unneeded services. Never going back.

About 10 months ago I hit a large piece of steel on the interstate right by Actons that totalled my transmission. I had no idea where to go, I was just passing thru from Iowa. I looked for a nearby shop and I was very lucky Actons was just down the street. They replaced my transmission and, long story short, almost a year later its still running perfect. Very fair price & very happy with the service.

Started going here when I move to the neighborhood four and a half years ago. Been taking my car there for everything since. Really nice guys offer to give you a ride home always squeeze me in last minute. Ive had them do oil changes, alternator, inspections, and suspension work. Every time it was done quickly, correctly and at a fair price

I have been taking my cars to Acton for over 20 years. They have always done great work at great prices. As a single woman I am confident that they will never try to overcharge me or do unnecessary work. The prices are fair, they get my car back to me fast and all of the guys are very friendly and helpful. I always recommend them to any of my friends that need work done on their vehicles, and they are never disappointed.

On the extreme high end of cost. Plenty of other options out there that will give you a better price. Took my car there in a pinch because it was the closet tow job and then I had to decide between towing somewhere else or paying their high prices. Not sure if they took advantage of the situation or if they are always priced this high.

I have used Actons for 10 years now and I have complete trust in what they tell me. Ive had my dealership try to talk me into hundreds of dollars of maintenance and when I seek out Actons for a second opinion they have the integrity to tell me what is really necessary and what is not, even if it would be more lucrative for them to confirm what the dealership told me.You can trust Actons. They do great work and are incredibly kind and helpful. Wouldnt dream of going anywhere else.

I heard about this shoppe from an aquaintance. I was told that they were honest and fair. Both of these are very true.I have a really old car and do not even know if they can get parts but they have already taken the time and effort to actuakky find what the problem is.

I found Actons one day while passing the garage and thought I would give it a shot. Ive been going there for over 5 years to get my oil changed and other car maintenance. Keith is always fair, straight forward and they do a great job.Very comparable in price and heads and shoulders above everyone else in service.

I was facing the prospect of a replacement engine due to a badly rusted exhaust manifold. Several mechanics rejected the job because they were afraid of breaking the bolts which could possible lead to head removal to correct broken studs (very expensive). I called Keith and he told me they were not afraid of breaking studs. If that happens, we will just drill out the bad studs and insert new ones. I was relieved to say the least and my worry level was now at zero. Now instead of an engine replacement, I am considering new tires for my 20 year old Ford Explorer. Keith, Justin thank you.

Weve had nothing but good experiences with this repair shop. Weve brought several different vehicles here over the years with various problems and theyve always helped us out at a fair rate. They even gave us a loaner car on one occasion and a ride home on another when their loaners were all out - very considerate!

I wont go anywhere else for car service. Its such a good feeling when you know youre being told the truth, and working with a mechanic who tries to save you money rather than run up the bill with unecessary parts and service costs. They stand by their work, too. If something isnt quite right, they make sure to make it right. Just a first class place.

I would not recommend this place. Labor rates and mark up on parts are higher than any other shop, including dealerships. They also apparently like to run up their tickets for work that is not required. I think you would be better off going about anywhere else in town.Oh, also when they checked the car for a brake job, the front tire was left dangerously loose,because they didnt properly tighten the lug nuts.

I have used Actons various times to repair my Daughters car as well as my own car. I have found Actons to be excellent in finding the problem, repairing it in a timely manner and charging me a very reasonable amount for their services.

Have my vehicles inspected here every time and I have been extremely happy with the work they have done on my vehicles.

Got brake work done. Replaced Pads, Rotors and also some Studs. Brakes are working very well. Price was excellent and service was excellent.

I highly doubt why they have so good reviews!? As being a regular customer of this store, It makes me more qualified to give a real comment for this store. I use to change machine oil and transmission oil here several months before. one day In early October, I smell something like burning toast, so I drive my car to this store, they told me I need to change 12 parts in one time, which include Oil filter, oil SYN BLEND 10-30, Valve cover gasket set, exhaust gasket, exhaust gasket 1EA WLKER, 90 degree elbow from rear valve, cover to bottom of intake manifold, front cam plugs, water pump, auto motive timing belt, anti freeze prime global gal. Plus total labor fee they were going to charge me $1,722.98. You know I just spend $3900 to bought my car in 2012. Although I confused why I need to change so many parts in one time, I still agree to do this, cause I trusted them.Im not complaining about the price, even worse, when the following day I pick up my car from the store. My car began to vibrate violently when I driving it, I always feel something keep rattling under my car. It was so scared! I was pretty sure that they didnt fix something right, In the other word, I just spend $1722.98 to bought a new horrible problem. I immediately went back to Actons Auto Service, they say they did nothing wrong I need spend extra $443.97 to change a Tailored Resistor ignition Wire Set and 6 spark plugs. It left me no choice, cause I feel my car was too dangerous to drive. I agreed to pay this by installments.You cannot believe that, after they done this car for me, all problems remain the same!! Now I felt I was the most stupid customer all over the world, they trick me over and over again but I keep trusting them.Finally I figured why the car keep rattling, I sent my car to another Car repair store, and just spend $131.5 got it fixed . Guess what ? Actons Auto Service didnt get the water pump of my car installed properly!To put it simple, I spend $1722.98 to fix an $3900 car, just because I smelled slightly anxious burnt flavour, and they also give me an extra problem which worth $131.5, finally the charged me $443.97 again but fail to solve this problem they created. My suggestion is that you can change your machine oil there, but never do other things in this store. Otherwise you will get to know what is the worst experience of repairing a car.
