One of the most responsive rental properties I have had the pleasure of living at. They have great after hour services, they accommodate their tenants and get back to you in a timely fashion and their employees are always helpful and polite. They also have great events that they host for free that their tenants can attend! Even after moving out, I had a few misc. things that I needed to revisit and they were more than happy to help. Would highly suggest using them, and would use them again.

Do not waste your time. The only thing convenient was being able to access the highway (which is now filled with detours and construction work constantly) and the area.Do I believe you can find better housing at a affordable price? Absolutely.The rent is over priced, hardly any space nor are there amenities, and the washer and dryer consistetlntly did not work.They look for many ways to finesse money out of you and get with by taxing on fees.Would I move into another MAC property? No! They do not have affordable housing and the amenities they do offer is constantly not accessible which is unacceptable given the amount of rent they are charging.After living there for almost 4 years they decide to tell on my move out date that $275.00 deposit was non refundable.Ask questions. Get copies of everything. They are getting over on people by charging obscure fees!

Jasper was INCREDIBLY helpful to me during the process of looking for an apartment. There are a few rental companies around Hyde Park that are appealing to incoming students, but Jasper really sold us on how personal the Mac office is. He gave suggestions for good units for my roommate and me that reflected our needs and preferences, was prompt with communication, and just all around a fun and helpful person to work with. Thank you so much! We are looking forward to moving in a few months.

Moving is stressful and knowing I had to be out my previous address. He made it as painless to get into my new apartment. He calmed all my concerns and was very helpful. I cant so enough he is an excellent asset to your company. He is a very compassionate person. I will continue to rent from you all as long as he is an employee he is great.

I’m 100% sure I’m being discriminated against! First I asked for a walk through for and apt at the ambassadors and I geuss the apt was taken off the market shortly after, the didn’t even give me a courtesy call (which is bare minimum professionalism) I call 1 hour before my appointment (because usually in business for appointments they will give you a courtesy reminder ) to confirm our appointment and he said it gone and just sat silent on the phone I just hung up! Confused why I wasn’t told this before heading that way! So I requested another agent and the agent hung up in my face so I called back and he said he said he will have someone call me back and if course didn’t and I had to call back a 3rd time to inquire about another apt the agent took me admin move in fee and I didn’t hear from him for a few days I had to call back to get leasing information and he advised that the agreement will cancel out in a few days I advise I still haven’t received the lease to sign he advised he will be sending it the next business day and it is literally the day before it expires and he still has not sent me the documentation to sign! After numerous reminders it feels intentional! Then I just called to get information the agent basically told me he can’t help me and I asked to speak to a supervisor they advise “I will let them know” so I’m being blocked to speak to management and offered no help it’s absurd

Im sad to leave a negative review, but heres my last ditch effort for someone to take the smoking issue seriously.I have called numerous times and spoken with probably every employee at this point to get the smoking issue taken care of. Curiously, any other maintenance problem gets addressed right away and with lovely staff. But the moment I mention needing to have the cigarette smoke addressed, no one wants to follow up or take action. This is a health concern. Its not my issue that I dont know who is doing it. That is yours with a smoke free policy. Yall need to enforce this and take it seriously. Its not just my complex either.Other than the above, its been a good experience. But this issue has really soured my opinion and I see Im not the only one complaining about it either.

I would give them a 0 if I could. Building 640 has bug issues and major pipe leaks. At least 7 apartments have flooded in the last 4-5 months. My apt had a pipe leak and they allowed me to live with black mold for 10-11 days and didn’t fix it until I called the health department. I lost $3,000-4,000 in items with zero apologies from management. Someone threw a brick at an 84 year old woman’s car and they haven’t done anything about it. Someone threatened to kill people using the N word and that man is still living here. No one should be living here. Worst apt experience of my life.

It seriously pains me to leave a negative review as the staff seems pretty great but PLEASE do NOT move into a MAC property managed facility. I signed up for parking and whoever was helping me dropped the ball and didnt process my request correctly. The result of this is my car being towed out of the lot and me paying $300 to get it back. I begged MAC to fix their egregious oversight but with no luck. They essentially called me a liar and that I never requested parking. I have a very ill daughter and am a single mother. Having this happen to me is a huge setback. Additionally, I moved into my apt with a major ant problem before I even stocked my pantry or ate in my apt. They told me the ants were my fault and that I must be leaving food out.

I wish that I could give negative stars.have been a resident at a split-level house owned by Mac Properties for 6 months, and every possible thing that could go wrong has. We lost heating and had 2 pipes freeze and burst in freezing weather, there are multiple leaks within the wall that they refuse to repair, no smoke alarms in sight, and mold has been growing in our walls for so long that there is visible mushrooms and fungus.Every time I reach out about an urgent service request, I am promised that maintenance is on their way and nobody shows up. Its become a full-time job demanding that health code violations get repaired, to the point where Ive had to contact the Kansas City health department to intervene. Maintenance has lost their keys to my unit and refuses to rekey the locks. My old service requests are deleted before theyre ever addressed, and then staff tries to gaslight me by saying that I never communicated my maintenance problems. Staff has gone as far as to tell myself and my neighbors that they have bigger problems to deal with than the mold in our walls.I cant emphasize enough how much you should not rent from Mac. Save yourself the headache and the health problems.

The location may be great, living in gentrification central may look great at first, but this property management company doesnt give two shots about anything other than your rent. They sent emails saying the would work with residents laid off during Covid... I never got a response. It takes weeks/ months and multiple work orders to get any response to fix the poor workmanship of these hastily refurbished units. Not worth it. Turning in my keys was one of my favorite days.

I’m 100% convinced this apartment practices discriminatory housing. I have been trying to find an apartment for my family member who is coming to stay for a couple of months. After speaking with the leasing office I found that this apartment was capable of providing the short term lease options I desired. I even spoke with Raqayyah Harvey from the leasing office that I could pay the full amount of the lease upfront. Throughout conversation I spoke with Raqayyah, over the course of a week and after touring in person and Raqayyah told me I needed apply to this apartment. And after not hearing anything back for over 5 days. After repeated calls and emails. Raqayyah called me around 9am this morning (the 5th day) and said my application was denied because I couldn’t afford it. Raqayyah said I needed to make 5x the rent ($1073). I asked how could it get denied when I make over $5000 from one of the job a month. Raqayyah said I didn’t make enough. I asked if I could add more of my income to the application as there wasn’t a space for people who may have more than one job, she said how much do I make from the other. I told her if I add one more of my other jobs it would be about 8k a month. But I’d like to add my additional sources of income as well which would make it almost 10k a month. Raqayyah said she didn’t need the additional sources of income.Later I received an email saying my application was approved and to pick my move in date. Also I need to verify my income. Then not even an hour later Raqayyah then says the apartments have been taken.Am I suppose to believe that, an apartment building I was looking at suddenly doesn’t have any space to rent? That my application was “approved” and that I need to reply with my move in date BUT I need to also verify my income despite the “approval” of the application? Am I too believe that despite income actually not being a barrier to entry and that I am more than able to pay $1073, in fact I wanted to pay the apartment money upfront so that my family member could have a comfortable seemingly beautiful place to stay that there were other factors at play to me not getting the apartment?How is it that in 5 days of not replying. Somehow suddenly someone else was approved, and what exactly was their income if that’s even what is was based on?Should I have not taken a tour of the place would I have gotten approved then?

I have had a phenomenal experience with Mac. If I have any issues they promptly fix the issue. Ricky, Matt, and Jose where amazing and even tried to help me move my couch in. The have been kind and already go above and beyond. Nathan helped us today and he was also very kind and worked quickly and efficiently. I believe the other gentlemen that helped when my daughter locked my doors name was Joe. He was also very kind and they all treat my daughter and dog with much respect.

Lived here for a year in a shoebox studio, for about $800 a month. Youd think with a price like that for a tiny apartment, that they would bother doing actual repairs on their apartment building. But instead theyre going to be building yet ANOTHER apartment building that theyll undoubtedly neglect like every other one. My best friends apartment had black mold in the bathroom and they didnt even bother taking care of the issue. The walls were falling apart. Do better, scumlords.

Do not rent at MAC! Roaches do not pay rent! Management and maintenance are not on the same page. Im waiting for a month for a service request. No communication and empty promises. If you dont mind filth, bugs and run down buildings then MAC properties are the perfect fit.

Ive lived in the Kenwood Apartments since August 2019. I have plans to move out later this summer so I can have more office space and a bit more insulation/sound proofing in my apartment :)I think Mac Properties has been good during my time here. Maintenance responds to service requests pretty quickly. If they have to hire an outside vendor, like to resurface my bathroom tube last week, that may take more time. But talking to the friendly staff helped that work happen faster. For me, an ideal experience with property management is only needing to talk about getting repairs done in a reasonable amount time. There are very few incidents, and if they happen theyre minor inconveniences (e.g. fire alarm, shutting off water for repairs, etc.).My one bedroom apartment is relatively in expensive and is in a good location. I dont have to go very far for groceries and entertainment (pre-pandemic, that is). The neighborhood is safe but you can see big things are coming here because of the construction you see on every street, it seems.I think my only gripe is that my apartment unit doesnt seem to have good insulation/sound proofing. During my first year this wasnt a problem: my next door neighbor would some times rummage in the kitchen or the shower head would screech through my kitchen wall. I think the real trouble started when neighbors moved in above me in July 2020. I could hear way more noise above me throughout my apartment whenever they were home. The neighbor and I texted a lot about the noise for the last year; theyre quieter now but I wish this didnt happen. A bit more insulation or something would be great to make the experience better. So I give the building like a 3.5 stars or so.I recommend Mac Properties, for what its worth. Happy apartment hunting, reader! :)

I dont know why my review was removed but I will say it again. DONT MOVE HERE!My car was broken into three times. My bike was stolen. You will only know your car is safe if you spent extra money to park in the private parking. The apartments are already expensive. My heaters broke in Oct. and no one came to fix it. They just gave me a space heater. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINTER! Windemere is where I used to live and I left as soon as I could. Not worth the price. There are much better choices out there that are safer.They reel you in with fancy promises. Not worth it at all!

I live in their Bellerive property. For what I pay, everything is fine. Minus the clean up crew, they can be lazy at times. However, the maintenance is good. If I have an issue someone promptly comes to solve my issue. Ricky Taylor helped me this time. I’ve recently moved in and I guess they repainted the walls. So, there was paint on my kitchen tile. Ricky got rid of the paint. Thanks Ricky.The building is quiet and most of the residence are friendly. Now, if they would make sure their Janitors weren’t lazy when it comes to the trash, I would give them 5 stars.

These properties are not managed in a way that is safe or secure for the tenants. They allow access to buildings that makes theft easy. They allowed a front window to 3435 Main to be broken for weeks, allowing access to anyone walking by. Do not recommend.

I originally had a good experience with Mac. All of the office staff and maintenance were very helpful. Up until 6 months ago, someone began smoking cigarettes in their apartment. The ventilation is poor and the smell goes directly into our unit. I’ve been asking Mac to fix this for 6 months and continue to get a run around. Why is it taking so long to find out where the smell is coming from? Very poor property management. Every time we call they say they’re going to take care of it and it just continues.

I lived at a Mac building for a few years, and overall, it was really positive. Especially grateful for Lisa K, Terry, Ryan H, and Steven C at the offices. Staff are great. My biggest tip would be not to live on a first floor or any high floor in a building with an elevator. First floor is loud; for the higher floors, old elevators break and youll be climbing stairs for days if youre way up.Gym/laundry were always clean. Mostly secure buildings, sometimes side door would be broken for days.One major thing to consider is Macs policy with renewing a lease. They require 60 days notice renewal, which is fine, but if your plans change during that time (say, you want to buy a house?), even if its 59 days out from your new lease starting, they will make you break it. Its strict and its their own policy--some other corporate landlords in town are more flexible. It added a lot of stress to my life but it worked out with full info from staff.Move out went as expected - we left it clean and there werent any charges for things.

During my end of my lease tenant review, maintenance noticed I had a dirty air filter and was very quick to replace it. Terry showed up early the next morning to make sure I was breathing filtered air and was super understanding and sweet to my scared dog. Thanks Terry!

If I could give this review zero stars, I would. I have had an absolutely miserable experience with MAC this year. I live in a basement unit (one of their randomly selected income adjusted units--of course they randomly select basement units for their poorest residents), and my apartment flooded four times in August 2017. I’ve included photos of the damage in this review. Anyone can see that there was a ton of mold. Management refused to do anything to resolve the situation until the apartment molded, and I got sick. I had to order an air test before they would even consider replacing the floor.Additionally, I began reading a parking space a couple months ago, and I have had two flat tires from nails left behind by construction workers in MAC’s parking lot.The mail room sucks… In spite of owning so many buildings, they insist on receiving all the packages and one location which often turns two-day shipping into five day shipping. I have literally seen a package with my name on it, and the package room employee refused to give it to me because it had not been “checked in yet.”The staff is generally unhelpful and rude (though, there are exceptions). When my apartment flooded so many times, they showed no empathy, strength of character, or any desire to progress through the project at anything faster than a glacial pace. One staff member (Nathan Wallingford), in particular, lives in my former building with a terribly aggressive dog (who has shown aggression towards my dog) and had the nerve to tell me that I was in violation of my lease when I accidentally dropped my dog’s leash from my hand as he stepped out of the elevator with his unsocialized dog.They’ve also attempted to fine me for absurd charges that aren’t outlined in the lease. I’ve also read a lot of Mac’s responses to these views, and I’m incredibly disappointed with the amount of victim shaming and blaming that I’ve seen. It’s clear that the management is not willing to take responsibility for their actions. I don’t know how these people sleep at night knowing how miserable they are making their residents.Now that Ive moved out, MAC is attempting to charge me with additional damages. Note that these charges come after I have paid a move-in fee and two $200 pet deposits. I have provided them, therefore, with more than 1 months rent in fees, and they continue to extort me.The once “saviors of Armour Boulevard” have become glorified slumlords. I do not recommend living here unless you are willing to fight for your rights on a daily basis, especially if youre poor.

I just want to take the time to write a review about my maintenance experience. One person in particular, Keith Martio is really awesome! I met him a few months ago at my building at the Ambassador after having some concerns. He was quick to jump right in and help me rectify all situations without even having a request. He told me to contact him if I ever need anything and he stayed true to that. He is very approachable and honest. The fact that he took the time to hear me out and handle all my needs made me want to stay and renew/transfer my lease within the property. I have been at several different complexes before I came to MAC property and never been treated like this before. For them to manage so many properties in the area, they are very punctual and professional in handling your request. Thanks to Keith he has made my living experience even more enjoyable and look forward for many more opportunities with this property. Thank you Keith! 😊

Ive had to endure one thing after another w/repetitive noise issues in the building. Here&@Park Central. I wld also love to give more stars, but the constant issue of one noise popping up after another gets resolved is too much on my nerves,& that is overshadowing every thing that is good about living here. 1st, I was on the 7th flr @ Park Central & I happened to be close to the roof where the AC UNIT that cools the entire high rise is & it sent a sharp high frequency buzzing sound throughout the entire unit & the sound was so deafening, I had to switch to a different building. I was by the elevator & next to me was a unit where 1 (sounded like 2) dogs who barked constantly& 1 dog on the other end of the hall barked at 1 a.m like clock work.Upon moving into Clyde Manor, the first 4 days, I had to deal w/2 smoke alarms w/dead batteries in them that chirped every 30 seconds, one in the apartment next to mine & the other on the other side of me! After that, construction was going on in a unit by me, & then floors were being pulled up, around that time, I started hearing this jarring sound, I thought it was the neighbor above me, but now I dont think its him. Unless, he moves furniture around every 15 minutes at times! But I went up there &he doesnt have any furniture except his couch/bed. I can hear the same noise in the hall& I went to the floor below me & can hear it there. It sounds like sneakers against a school gymnasium floor or heavy furniture being moved, but who knows what it is. It also could be in the pipes. But how can I figure this out? I called the office twice. I also put in a request today. I can deal with regular noises of every day living, but these are extremes. My leasing agent told me over& over, the walls &floors &ceiling are concrete. You wnt hear a thing! Yet, Ive been hit back to back w/every repetitive sound that cn be heard! I havent even lived here a month&Im totally over it. I feel like I made a huge mistake signing a lease here. If I would have known what I was in for, I would have run far away from this place&as fast as I could!Most of the maintenance staff are super kind&helpful. Only one, I felt like made a joke over my stress, which I do not appreciate. The staff in the office are mostly helpful. The residents are cool. The common areas are clean. There was a crazy guy outside late last night yelling stuff about murdering people, which was pretty scary. I could hear him from my window.I wish that these noises issues wld cease. I shld b enjoying my new apartment &I want to be! But instead, its just been one stress after another &already, I feel like Ive reached my wits end w/this latest issue (which actually has been happening for the past 3 weeks! I thought it had to do w/contractors pulling floors up. But that was done awhile ago!) I dnt know how Ill be able to hack another 11 months of ths. Because right now, living in this place is making me miserable.10:40 p.m same day, someone has recently made a habit of slamming a door by my unit. I got woken up from sleep this morning by door slamming. So, concrete floors& walls you wont hear a thing shld never have been told to me by a leasing agent. Its a completely false statement. I think I pinpointed the current constant sound issue. I pray someone will get it fixed. Were living through a pandemic. If I cant get peace at home, &theres no peace outside, where is my respite & refuge?Current noise issue frm the soda machine that echoes upward 2 floors still not taken care of. I have a new neighbor who slams his door every time he leaves & enters his unit & it literally shakes my walls. It woke me up in the morning twice already.END RESULT-Cld hear car doors slamming all throughout the night, every night, once the weather got colder.The impact noise was so disturbing. I got such horrible anxiety&panic attacks while renting here for a short time. I had to exit my lease to save my health! I lost 14 lbs in 2 months, I was so stressed out! Management did not help. Now Im stuck with a big bill.Nightmare experience.

This is definitely the best Property Management Company I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve experienced a few issues in the short amount of time I’ve been here, but Mac Properties has handled everything much faster than I originally expected. Staff members are always super friendly and really care about finding a solution. Steven, Ryan, Charles, and Anthony have all been extremely helpful in handling my issues. As far as maintenance requests, billing questions, package information, and anything else I’ve inquired about. I would recommend Mac properties to anyone looking in the Kansas City area.

I can’t give ZERO stars! Sadly, a foul odor was present for nearly 1 month. After many many complaints, MAC associates (finally) did a wellness check, and found the person deceased. NEARLY ONE MONTH!! The smell STILL carries through the hallways and fly infestation and gnats are found all over! The window to this persons apartment is covered with flies. I am merely a visitor of this building and am appalled that there are people and children(!!) having to live in this building while the smell of decomposition is still present. This. Is. Unethical. Disgusting. And DISGRACEFUL! RIP to the soul that expired there, and god bless the tenants that live there. MAC- you are disgusting! THIS IS UNSAFE DWELLING.

I sent an email asking why I’m being charged for utilities after already paying for them prior To the lease ending and why is the bill 2x higher than any other month during my 12 month lease. As expected I get no response or explanation whatsoever. I would never live again, even if it was free. I recommend ppl find other places with better staffing and communication.

He fixed a couple of other things that I hadn’t even asked about, AND offered to take my trash that I was going to take out himself since he was going that way anyway. I have loved living at The Newbern the past 6 months. Our leasing person Clay was amazing. The management consistently responds quickly when we need them. And the maintenance guys are really fast and nice, they always show up ASAP if we submit a maintenance request. Terry & Larry have been awesome!!! :)

Mac properties is one of the absolute worst companies I have ever dealt with. I was a resident with Mac Properties for about 2 years. For a year we had problems in our guest bathroom with a leaky shower. After every shower I had to use an entire towel just to soak up the water. The leaks became such a problem that our tile in our bathroom started to crack and were coming up. At one point I was able to pull an entire tile off the floor revealing bugs under my tile. With all these issues a maintenance man finally came over and calked my shower and fixed my tile. This solution worked for maybe a week and the shower started leaking again. I stressed this to Mac several times that my shower is having this problem again. Once again a maintenance man came over and calked my shower again. I told him this is what they did last time and it works for a week. He responded to me, there are so many problems in this building, I dont know how else to fix it. Shortly after this my shower started leaking again and the problem became so bad that the second floor bathroom became flooded and we were not allowed to use our shower for a couple days. Recently, I havent been able to use my shower again because of the plumbing problem in the building. For the last month and a half now, I have not had the use of my shower and my shower has been ripped apart with all the materials just sitting on my toilet. My bathroom wall is in such poor shape now that I have had to put mouse traps in it because mice are living in it. I have gone in several times in the past month and a half, stressing my problem and even showing video footage of my bathroom and I keep getting told they are waiting on the contractor. This problem has been going on for over a year now and if it would have gotten fixed correctly the first time all these issues wouldnt have occurred. After several months of complaining they compensated us with $25 for not having the use of our bathroom for 2 months.

I know they are in the middle of a reno, a new build, and all the buildings they have! April was my leasing agent two years ago and she is always such a delight! Stephen is always responsive with any issue I might have. Lisa has been incredibly attentive when responding to a parking spot question. I have had nothing but a positive experience. I cannot wait for a third least term!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I rented an apartment in one of their high rises for one year and the amount of days I actually was able to spend in my apartment over that year was minimal. I was advised by a Mac apartments employee which renters insurance to purchase and that is what I bought. Well when my apartment flooded due to a crack in the foundation of the building I was absolutely shocked when I was told that neither Mac nor the insurance company would cover my claim. The insurance company stated they do not cover floods caused foundation issues... fair. So the building owner, Mac should be responsible for compensating me for the $4,000 worth of damage to my things right? Nope, they cite some line for my lease that they have interpreted to fit their needs that they do not cover damage for any floods in the apartment caused by a number of reasons... foundation damage not being one of them. Not only did they tell me to purchase a specific renters insurance, but they denied any responsibility for the flood. AND when this flood happened I was not notified (I was at work) no note was placed on my door, maintenance turned my heat up AS HIGH AS IT WOULD GO and trashed my place. They did not clean up at all and they threw my nice wool rug into my bathtub creating a bigger mess. When I got home from work it was 98 FREAKING DEGREES IN MY APARTMENT. I took a picture of my thermostat because I knew no one would believe me. I literally thought I’d experienced the weirdest robbery of my life. My plants died as a result. Thank god my cat wasn’t home because he would have literally baked to death. So if this wasn’t bad enough, my place flooded THREE MORE TIMES. Mac continually made it difficult for me to get my apartment back to living condition. It took a very long time for them to come replace all the moldy and water damaged trim. They did not fully clean up the damage as I found mold and water damage jn my cabinets when I moved out. So many of my things are ruined from either the flood, the insane humidity and temperatures caused by maintenance turning my thermostat up, and maintenance coming in my place and getting my things dirty or damaging them. All my art, important documents, certificates, awards, and art that I painted were all ruined and I’m unable to replace them. When totaling up my damage I’m out about $4,000 and that’s not including how long I spent cleaning up the mess all three times and the things I cannot replace. Plus not being able to stay in my apartment for an extended period of time. This company is a scam and I suggest staying very far away.

I love living at MAC Apartments. I feel very safe and very taken care of. From the moment I met my leasing agent, I felt this way. This company must take care and value their employees in such a way that makes them feel valued and empowers them to they can take very good care of their customers. Every time Ive worked with a MAC employee, they go above and beyond to make sure my experience is top-notch and that all my questions are answered. I also love what they are doing for Kansas City--renovating and caring for historic buildings that have fallen into disrepair, plus giving beautiful, clean, affordable apartment living to residents. I also love the sense of community I feel by living here. I have not yet attended any of the MAC events, but I hope to one day, and even just knowing that these events exist, that there is a monthly newsletter, as well as a well-organized FB points system, where I can participate and be a member and an advocate for this company, makes me feel like a part of a larger community working for good. I love that they send out information about their staff, whether it be new maintenance worker hires or staff baby showers. All of this works to add to my sense of being a part of a community, and one that cares about all of its workers. I love the cleanliness and design of my building and my studio apartment. I love the appliances and gorgeous kitchen in my studio as well. The only thing I need is a studio with a better angle to the sun, and Im working on figuring out how to do that because I plan to stay with MAC Apartments for the foreseeable future.

If you have a nice flexible schedule and like cold water, this building is for you! Dont need to a warm shower before your 8 - 5 or to clean up before a hot date on Friday? Move right on in. However, if you like hot water and have a schedule, this building is not for you. On 1/25/19, Mac Properties told me to alter my schedule as there is a water heating problem during peak hours(ie. 6-8 am Monday through Friday, or 5 -7 PM on Fridays). I logged my first service request for this issue on 11/30/18. It is now 1/28/19 and cold showers are still a part of my daily routine. The leasing office has even gone so far as to ask me to personally change my routine because thats more logical than fixing the water heater issue as the current set up clearly does not support the population of the building... If I didnt have a job, one I must have to pay for the exorbitant rent associated with living at Mac Properties, Id be much better suited to live in this building. The folks who have asked me to alter my schedule have been nice, but nice doesnt cut it when you spend one grand a month in rent. I have reached out to regional support and continue to get the run around, so holistically, Mac Properties is not a business I would recommend or endorse.

Overall MAC apartments are a good place to live. Although the area can be shady at times, MAC does a good job of trying to make residents feel safe and secure by offering secure entrances, gated buildings and parking. The finished in the buildings are lovely and most have amenities and character that defines each property. Although the price is higher than most properties in the area the price is comparable to non-MAC properties with similar finishes. Recently MAC has taken strides to show their appreciation for residents by hosting various resident+guest focused events that are quite generous. Its a good opportunity too meet other similar people while taking advantage of a good time.

I have lived in a Mac Properties apartment building for nearly 2 years now. The apartment was a perfect blank slate for me to make my own. My maintenance requests are often fulfilled quickly; recently, both Bryon and Terry have fixed small projects in my apartment very promptly. I have few complaints about my apartment experience through Mac, but the renovated buildings occasionally show their age. For example, the heat has gone out in my building in the middle of winter and the AC has gone out in the middle of summer. These larger issues never get fixed as quickly as one would like, but the company is good about keeping residents in the loop.

I was apprehensive of Mac at first as they called me on my scheduled move in date to say that my studio apartment in the Bellerive building would not be ready at the time they previously stated. I got this call 15 minutes before I was scheduled to pick-up my keys and move in. With a loaded moving truck and a limited time window within which to unload, I was displeased to say the least. However, 30 minutes later they called again to tell me that the unit next door (2 bed, 2 bath) was available and that I could move in to this unit temporarily at no extra cost until my unit was ready. Not only did I get to vacation in a much bigger corner unit for a week, the maintenance team even helped me move everything next door once my unit was ready! Like 8 maintenance guys just showed up at 4:45 in the afternoon to help me. What would have been an arduous all day affair alone turned into an enjoyable 15 minute move.Fast forward 10 months into my lease and I continue to be pleased with the service I have received from Mac. I have had virtually no major issues and any issue I have had has been handled promptly and professionally. Specifically, I would like to thank maintenance man Chris Roper for his assistance with a recent drain clog. Chris is always courteous and I enjoy conversing with him when I meet him in the hallways.My relationship with Mac has been stellar so far, so much so that I intend to continue renting from them when I relocate for work in the near future. Three years in and still loving it. Very responsive maintenance staff and beautiful buildings. Kitchens and bathrooms are very modern as well as the lobbies. Google Fiber is great and there is also a pool. Rent is reasonable for what youre getting. Only downside is the few neighbors who have no regard for neighbors, but such is expected in a place this large.

Had two maintenance requests over the weekend - one of which was a broken furnace when it was going to be cold overnight. Larry responded within 10 minutes! Though he wasnt able to fix the heater (needed a part) he was kind enough to bring a couple of space heaters by to get me through. I expected Monday to come home to a notice that a part had been ordered and it would be fixed in a couple of days... What did I find instead? Terry had completely fixed the problem! Both Terry and Larry are outstanding on the maintenance crew!

Do not lease with MAC Properties! I loved my apartment when I first moved in - it was everything I wanted. And then I started hearing and noticing mice. I cannot even begin to explain the large quantities of mice feces I found all over my apartment - in both closets, behind the fridge and stove, in the a/c, ON MY NIGHTSTAND. Pest control was supposed to come but they had a warped key and could not get in but nobody notified me of this and they CLOSED the incident report. When we finally did manage to resolve this problem - about a whole month later, maintenance set traps and we caught a whole bunch of them. And last week, I was told everything had been sealed up and that the problem was resolved. It was not resolved - I found a dead mouse in my bathroom last week after coming back from a business trip and another one in my a/c unit area. I am so done, do NOT LIVE HERE because they will not solve your problems and they will not help you!!

I have been requesting a window be fixed in my apartment since Dec. 22, 2018 and it is still broken. I have been in contact with multiple people in the Mac Properties office on the phone and over email and have never been able to get a straight answer as to what is being done about it. Sometimes they need a specialist, other times the maintenance supervisor will be in to take care of it the next day. Long story short, its been almost four months and its still broken.To add to it, I came home after being away for a week and was locked out of my building. My key card would not work and my name was no longer in the system in the call box. Ill be going into the office tomorrow morning to get the key card resolved but I am completely fed up with getting the run around on the window fix. Absolutely ridiculous.

Security and parking were the only real major issues, though MAC at least tried to address them.Overall it was a good experience as a recent college grad wanting to live close to downtown and MAC has done a great job revitalizing the stretch of Armour between Broadway and Troost. Mac Properties:!!! AlertThis place does not worth any star at all. I have moved in only for a week, but in this short period of time, I have suffered a lot.1. Bug problems: The first day I moved in, I got 3 bites on my right foot. I did not pay much attention since it looked just like normal mosquito bites. Later I got more bites everyday I woke up and I was in a deep panic and fear. I went to the doctor clinic immediately and my doctor told me that I should talk to the apartment manager and get an exterminator to investigate the apt. Now I have 22 bites on both of my feet and legs. Flip-flops are the only shoes I can wear now. And I have to wear them to work; I feel embarrassed some times.2. Bad attitude of management team: I went to the leasing office. I showed them my bites but they didnt seem to care that much. I insisted that I need them to take action immediately and they promised that they will have an exterminator come in today (Monday, 07/18/2016), but no one showed up. And they have been avoiding my phone calls. They do not want to fix the problem but they just simply ignore me.I want to break the lease and just get rid of that hell as soon as possible. But I was told that the only option for me is to pay two-month rent penalty and then I am free. Even though it is their fault and I am suffering so much.3. Bad living environment in general: They claim themselves as pet-friendly apt, yet no one cleans the common living area and there are pets pee everywhere in the hall way. It stains and stinks.I am preparing to sue this place, and I hope my review can be helpful to whoever is looking at this. I trusted Mac Properties before I moved in because I thought that as a big corporation, they will have proper process for pest control and carpet cleaning. But I am really surprised and angry. I lived here for a year and in total it was a horrible experience. The crime around the apartment was terrible. Vehicle break-ins and gun shots almost ever night. This was not what I was told it would be like from the agent that showed me the apartment. Keep in mind he was a prior marine, so I took his word on some things. next, the apartment they showed me had orange accent painting throughout the apartment, but when I moved in they gave me an apartment that was blue. BABY blue.Lastly, They have a clause that allows them to charge you $10 a day in late fees if your auto pay doesnt cover your rent. SO, If they raise your gas and electric bill and you dont notice... they will charge you $10 a day in late fees until YOU catch it. They will not inform you they are doing this. DO NOT RENT FROM MAC

The maintenance man at the ambassador building I believe his name is Richard, he is awesome. I had my whole entire sink fall off the wall and he came and fixed it the next day. My sink was also leaking and he came and fixed it not once but twice in a fast manner so my water bill wouldn’t raise. He is friendly to my two dogs when he is in my apartment fixing things, when I’m at work, and my dogs have grown to like him a lot. I would highly recommend Richard to fix anything that breaks. When I run into him in the hallways or outside he always says hi and he is just super friendly and is a hard worker. Thanks for your work!

I had practically no drainage in my tub, and whenever I showered the water would always somehow get on the floor. I put in a request in the evening on Saturday, so i was expecting Wednesday or Thursday they’d come and fix it.Monday around 14:00 I come back to find that Chris Roper had already fixed both problems. He had installed a new shower head (ahh!! Nice) and cleaned the drain out. Super quick, clean, and easy.

I moved into the Hamilton about a month ago. There were some issues that needed to be addressed on my move-in date, but I was impressed with the response of staff. I value communication, so its been wonderful to receive responses to my inquiries in such a timely manner. The premises are clean and I feel safe. Other tenants are also very respectful-I have never had to complain about noise levels. I like the fact that my apartment is so conveniently located, right between Troost and Main on Armour. Its close to work and also city life.
