I called a week prior and got a $80 quote, they showed up 2 hrs late and charged me $150, unbelievable.Type of car was stated, locations were stated, and was told to call when ready, pretty simple.

They fixed my vehical and 30 days later I needed a new part, defective and calledto ask about it and the next time I drive up there I hope the man is of his word and refunds me all the defective parts

Ive been doing business with Tim on projects big and small, routine and custom, for almost 20 years and have never been dissatisfied. On the one occasion where something wasnt done properly, Tim insisted that I bring the vehicle in immediately and had it taken care of - no argument, no excuses; he insisted that it be done right. Theres a very good reason hes always busy - even during our lockdown.

I took my car to Carmens to get an inspection! HUGE MISTAKE! Carmens told me my car was horribly dangerous and I needed $700.00 worth of new tires and thats the cheapest tire out there for my Chystler 300..well that was a LIE! So I was driving up Scalp Ave and figured that Id stop at Advantage and see what they had to say.. never been there before in my entire life! Mechanic came out and said it had about 50% tread left but recommended (not required) that I get a new set before winter so I get better traction in the snow and ice! I asked him if the tires were dangerous or a safety issue..he said no but once again recommended new ones before the snow and ice hits for better traction but could get by with what I had! On top of all this because of Covid my inspection was 30 days expired! The guy at Advantage got me in as soon as possible,didnt try to take me for expensive repairs that didnt need to be done and NEVER tried to up sell me on the most expensive tires they have..didnt try to sell me on tires at all! Its nice to walk into a place where they dont try and take advantage of you! I couldnt recommend this place more especially if youre a Woman..they dont try to take advantage of that or a lack of knowledge about cars!! Definitely will be returning for future business! Visit Advantage with confidence that youll be treated with respect,great service and not be ripped off! Thank you everyone at Advantage!

Took 2 hours to get a guy to come ump start my car called the guy at the garage was rude and said he’d look for the paperwork so he’d get paid when the get back from lunch. when the guy finally got there it took one try for my car to start. Wouldn’t have been too bad if they could’ve showed up earlier and I wouldn’t have been late to work

State Farm outsourced to Advantage Auto Services to help me out with an unusual lock-out situation with my vehicle. Tom arrived confident and ready to get the job done. His first words youre going to be amazed at how quickly this happens. After a morning of google and basic helplessness I was skeptical. 90 seconds later the car is open! He stayed with me to ensure the lock functioned normally and also listened to my sob story. Despite the cold, in the 20s, Toms attitude was great and his ability to empathize with my situation made me feel like today was a small victory instead of what seemed like a defeat. Thank you, Tom!

Advantage is great for all car things big or small. They do some custom work, and going to Advantage instead of a dealer for fixing a cracked exhaust piece saved me hundreds. If you want trustworthy and dependable people, Advantage cant be beat.

Terrible experience getting a tow. John arrived promptly as expected which was a pleasant start. I was asked to pay up front for the towing charge which he initially said was $40. He refused any payment but cash. I had a $20 bill, three $1s and a $50. He didnt have change so I gave him the $50 and was out $10. Then I calculated the amount he said I owed and came up with $38. When I confronted John he said it was easier to round up the amount. Still no change given. Then I calculated the mileage the car would be towed only to find hed inflated the amount so the total was in fact $32 so the total John skimmed from me was $18. He asked for the keys to the car (it is a manual transmission) and must have left them in the ignition in the run position, for as the car was being pulled onto the bed the engine started and the car moved forward towards the cab. Who leaves the keys in the ignition in the run position??? I called AAA and registered a complaint with them.

I used to recommend Advantage Auto to everyone. I had great experiences there until recently. Something has changed. Absolutely no customer service. Everytime they say they would call they wouldnt when it came time to talk to me about estimates they made me feel very rushed and like they had no time for me. Had my car there on 2 separate occasions for the same problem... This last time I got my car back it ran horribly... There is no way they test drove it after repairs. All but refused to test a part that is easy to test. With some advice from another garage and a little YouTube we have been able to identify a few small problems that have been contributing to all our issues. I cant figure out how after speaking with us they were unable to diagnose and repair my vehicle. I dont think the mechanics I spoke with even heard half of our complaints. Seriously considering switching garages.

Worst experience ever! Rude, and very unprofessional. Swearing around children, had no care for the vehicle. Said it was a waste of his time. Very rude to the police also.

DO NOT take your vehicle here. Ive had nothing but probls with this guy. Every time I take something there is comes back with more problems. Had an engine replaced, 40 days after I found out that a valve stem was tapping on the piston and totally destroyed it. He refused to cover on warranty, ended up paying for Another engine because his parts guy wouldnt cover it past 30 days. After receiving vehicle back for the second time I had no first or fifth gear. Guy is a crook. This is your warning. They replaced my bro in laws radiator and installed fan backwards!! It could be seen where they forced it to fit. After removing it and turning it around it was a perfect fit. Go elsewhere. If you are up for a drive take it to Laughlintown garage. Great people great service.

I called my insurance company for a tow 15 mins from johnstown pa and the proceeded to get advantage auto. It stated that it would take and hour. Well an hour went by and nothing so I called them to see what going on and I get they will be there in 10 to 15 mins because they had a 911 call. He was completely rude, but whatever That is fine so I waited there another hour mean while having my two young children in the car with a car that overheated and the battery went dead. We had no air conditioner or anything on the side of 219n. So I called my insurance company back told them no services yet and they called the company. Once again I was told another 10 to 15 mins. By this time I was already there for 2 and 1/2 hours. I was furious. I also was sitting in direct sunlight with no shade at all. Aka so you know now I have severe sun burns on both shoulders, my leg and my left arm. I finally called bacl the company and he acted like I was a complete waste of his time and he didnt care what happened. Finally at 350 the driver for the tow company called me to tell them they were gonna be there in another 10 to 15 mins. I was fuming by then and I was able to get my friend to come and bring me and my kids water. Also to be able to sit in the cool air since I had no one that could help me. By the time they arrived I was there from 12:57pm til 4:11pm before they finally arrived. The driver told me he didnt get the call from their dispatch until 3:22pm which was bs since I already talked to them prior then that. He stated he didnt understand why they didnt call him sooner since he drove by me 3 times and could have helped me any of those times. so finally I was able to get my car home by 5pm. So just so you know this is the worst company ever never using them again.

I like the prices, but theyre always in a hurry and NEVER take the time to actually listen to whats wrong. Its hard to argue with the prices, but whats the point if the problem never gets fixed?
