Id like to take a moment to recognize Cedric Martin. I honestly dont think Ive ever seen someone working so hard and being so positive and courteous. I was impressed. It was the same great service when I came back to return the trailer I had rented. It was very hot outside, it was clear they were busy, and again he was still wonderful with everyone. It not only impressed me and made my day, but also made sure that this will be the U-haul location I go to for future rentals. Very much recommend. Thanks Cedric!
Friendly folks but understaffed. Expect unreasonably long waits to get anything done here. 20-30 mins to buy boxes. Or return boxes. 44mins today to get programe.Day or time does not matter. Most staff are friendly but overwhelmed daily. Ashley does a fantastic job wrangling the crowds, but definitely needs more help.
Great experience at this location renting a truck. Store was very clean, and staff was SUPER friendly. Especially Cedrik - exceptional customer service! There were two other girls during my visit; also extremely friendly; didnt catch their names though.

I moved from SoCal to the Jacksonville area and used a U-Box to transport my items and I had it delivered to this address. My box was several days late arriving (not their fault) and Ashlee was amazing at keeping me informed and being proactive with contacting me. She fixed me up with a truck rental, everything was clean and ready to go. I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone needing the service. Everyone was friendly and professional and I would use them again.
We stored our stuff there for two months and now theres roaches in it. There were roaches all over our stuff when we started to empty the storage unit. We NEVER had roaches befor we put our stuff into the storage unit. What kind of storage unit doesnt spray regularly? Weve used cheaper storage units and havent gotten bugs from them. Im beyond mad because now I have to come out of pocket for an exterminator! If i could give zero stars i would.
When I was visiting u-haul rentals a few days ago to talk to customer service they were extremely slow felt like she really did not want to be there the equipment is all worn out would not recommend them. The customer service is horrible they need to work on their customer service skills
Ashley is a super knowledgeable manager & friendly customer service rep. Easy scheduling and pick up (I did every pretty last minute). I paid cash which made getting the deposit back really easy. This is a busy location so bring a little patience but it moves quickly. Truck drove great, was clean, and got good gas mileage. I really feel like I got my money’s worth. Thank you! Tips: make sure to take pictures of the mileage & Gas level — the contract they gave me showed more fuel than what was in the truck, luckily I had a picture so I didn’t get charged for it. Also take photos of any damages before you leave the lot. The truck I rented has stickers marking damages, so look for those to be on the safe side. Enjoy!
Ariana is amazing. When I was there yesterday to fill my propane tank, she helped me immediately. She is an asset to that location. She deserves a raise!

Lose the attitude and if you don’t like working there then get another job! Thank goodness I ended up at the other location down the street. They were excellent. And your team members could learn something from them. Call Cedrik and Tiana at the other store and get tips from them.
Ashley William Is very unprofessional. I will never go back to location and suggest no one else do. Ms. Ashley told me to check the contract over and over after she put the wrong address. I had to call U-Haul costumer service to get my money back. she put my wrong address then tried to charge me with the dolly. Once I explain to customer service that I was going do a police report and take this to my lawyer a lot of things started to change. I already know by that being a max facility they have cameras and I not going to risk my 10 year law enforcement career for a dolly. I watch another lady cried in the store about checks that she was giving them that was not showing. this lady taking care of her terminally ill parents. please if any area manager from U-Haul see this please save your company. when you go as far as to lie to make money you have no form of customer service or self respect.
Worst Customer Service. The manager Ashley Williams have the worst actitud. We lost the key and need to get a spair one, she treated us like we wanted to steal the truck, she had an actitud with us since we picked the truck at 7am. I even felt bad for the others employees. If I can give none stars it will be better. The rest of the employees were good.
The worst Uhaul to deal with. Nothing more I could said. A 45 minutes wait for just one trailer. I made a reservation online in a different Uhaul and when I went there the trailer was not available so they send me to a different one and in this one that have the trailer and I waited for 45 minutes one of the employees did not serve me because she was in brake and the other was so rude. After I waited for good 25 minutes just so they can take care of me she ask If the trailer was hooked up to my truck... of course no FKN they ignore me. So then I waited another 20 minutes so they can finish my reservation.
I normally dont post Reviews but the manager in charge tried to rip me off. She upcharged me for changing my zip to a closer address. I decided to go to another uhaul and got a cheaper rate with a discount. Dont come to this location if you want to be treated like trash by trash customer service rep.

Changed my preferred location. Without so much as a phone call. We had to drive across town after surly counter help told us made the reservation for another locationWe did not and I have email to prove our preferred location. Why the big deal? Our preferred location was not open at 11AM our scheduled pick up. We had to wait 45 minutes for her to return.Email also informed us of a phone call from local dealer. Which we did not recieve. So had to drive to other location. Moving is bad enough without having to figure out your truck is across town.
Awful staff, disrespectful to customers. I had an appointment and they told me they could not fit me In after 40 min drive and arriving on time. I showed up the next day and they took my car and told me they quoted the wrong car and it would actually be almost twice as much as initially quoted. They didn’t apologize for any of the inconveniences, keep in mind i drive 40 minutes 4 times for this nonsense. These people have no idea what they’re doing. Please don’t waste your time here. Probably one of the worse experiences I’ve ever had at a place ever.
If I could leave a zero star rating I absolutely would.I have used U-haul many times in many moves and I have NEVER had so many problems as I have had with this location. We rented a one way truck to empty out my deceased mother-in-laws apartment and were informed we were able to get a free month of storage at the drop off location. Awesome, sounded good. We rented the truck for one day initially, then added a second after we realized it was more work than anticipated. We were told it would be an extra $40 (We had already paid $155.33 which was $50 more than we were quoted, so that would put us at just under $200 for 2 days)We were told we could return the truck at 10a. We arrived half an hour early to return the truck, empty our things into the storage unit and move on with our lives. The manager at this location was completely unprofessional from the get go. She demanded 3 contacts with home addresses in order to obtain the storage unit. As we had never needed this to rent other u-haul storage units we were not prepared to give 3 addresses but we had 2 we could use. This was not enough and we were denied the unit. We had to drive the truck back to our home, empty the contents into our garage and then drive back to this location. We filled the tank twice just to be sure there would be no issue and returned the truck still with 10 minutes to spare. The manager made no indication there would be any further charges.A week passes and we get a bill for $197 in additional charges. They charged us for 2 extra days, fuel, extra miles, the most expensive insurance I mean just every extra charge was put on there. We called and opened a claim with U-haul to figure out how it was possible we were expected to pay $352 for a 2 day rental. While the claim was open my bank account was emptied by U-haul and over drafted so now I have $64 in overdraft fees on top of the alleged $197 owed. They said there was no way to stop the auto withdrawal so I had to cancel my debit card. So now we are looking at $400 for a 2 day rental truck.At the time of this review I had to call and get the claim re-opened and expedited to the Regional Office as the manager of this location stands by all the additional charges. So in addition to dealing with this tough emotional time I feel deceived and straight up robbed by this establishment.I will most likely never use U-haul again. Most definitely I will never use this location again and advise anyone considering it to pick literally any other location. Its no wonder they have a 3.5 rating. They need to hire a better manager with better social skills and actual customer service experience. What a nightmare.
Do not choose this location.I choose uhaul thinking they have a better customer service than any other truck rental company. I rented a cargo Van and drop it of after hours. At the time of pick up the lady showed me the gas gage and it was at 3/4 but she said that 7/8 because they go with lines! I did not argue with her,but I took a picture of the gage and kept it so I can refill exactly at the same amount before drop off. I filled the tank made sure the gage its exactly at the same spot right before drop off. But guess what next day I got a bill for $63 including $8.5 Gas refill!!!! I called the location and spoke with manager Derrick asking nicely about double checking the situation. He was extremely rude in the phone and said I pick up at 7/8 and returned at 3/4!I attached my picture of pick up!This uhaul location has zero customer service.
I was in town getting stuff from family and needed a truck with an auto transport. I went in and they seemed to be very busy but Connie and another young lady was being as efficient as they could and dealt with customers in a quickly manager. I was prepared to be in there 30+ minutes but between the two they cleared the lobby and I was only in there about 15 minutes and that was including getting everything completed. I would definitely comeback if I’m in Jax and in need of more equipment.
This is the most mismanaged branch Ive seen. I put in an order for trailer hitch & Installation on the online portal for 3pm and when I get there they tell me, they wont do it. They said there store system doesnt line up with the online times and my appointment was actually scheduled for 12:30PM?? I asked why they didnt call me if they knew theyre system doesnt sync and my appointment is actually at 12:30PM and they didnt have a respond. Get your business together because Im never returning
6 or 7 employees are watching 1 person assist people. Been sitting in line with no acknowledgement for the past 30 minutes. Absolutely terrible customer service. At least explain why Im sitting in line while all 7 of you check 1 person at a time please.One of the employees just stormed off telling his co workers you guys need to get your $#|¥ together man

I have used U-Haul over the years, this location and others, and expect to be disappointed when I go in....lots of people waiting, slow service, poor communication, un-happy employees etc. Therefore I tend to avoid using them. However in this case I had to have an auto transport and chose this store due to convenience and inventory.I walked in early one morning and had the very fortunate event of meeting Ashley Williams. 100% A+ Customer service. She did a fantastic job helping me get set up and out the door in a hurry. Do yourself a favor, call ahead and see when she will be at the store. Take some time up front to meet with her and you will avoid all of the headaches.
This is the worst U-Haul I have ever been to. When you get inside there is no organization, the employees seem to choose customers based on who will be the easiest for them to process not the order you arrived. There is also no communication between employees. When getting a trailer, one person hooked it up to our car and then another employee seem confused when we said someone already hooked us up to a trailer. Overall it was just a frustrating experience. U-Haul as a whole is a great company but go to literally any other U-Haul in the area before choosing this one.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS Phillips Hwy and University Blvd PLACE!!!!!The guy lied to me several times and terrible customer service. One of the lies was that a 10 truck was not available and tried renting me the 26. I was able to rent the same truck that I was looking at online. Then upon returning the truck and only runing 19 miles when I paid for 31, and filling it up with more gas than I received it.i was charged an additional $169 for leaving it at another Uhaul.my original rental was only $61. Never again will I use Uhaul.

If youre moving, storing, or just need to secure something, these folks have what you need. Ive gone in there several times looking for one solution, and found solutions for other situations I had as well.Their propane service is also terrific! Pay by the gallon, like at the gas station, and their service is fast, friendly, and professional. I love these guys!
This was my worst experience with moving & storage. I would not recommend this location or Uhaul. I spent an 1.5-2 hours each visit to picking up U Boxes. Even after I reserved pick up of empty and my full boxes. Nothing was correct in their system and they have no respect for your time. Yet they continue to ask when will you be returning the boxes. Its 2:30-3pm and they tell you the full boxes have to be back by 6:30pm. You still either having to load/unload these boxes. If can ever get out of here maybe I could be back before you close. Now to top it off they have charged my card for monthly services and I have nothing in storage with them. In addition I didnt set-up auto pay. I would not give any stars as a rating zero stars from me.
If looking to skip lines then dont go on Saturday or the first of the month. They will be busy. However the staff are knowledgeable and do their best to assist good as efficient as possible without making the customer they are with feel rushed. Which is hard to do with a line behind them.However they are woefully understaffed
I recently visited U-Haul on Phillips to rent a truck to move across town. The check out process was really easy. I was seen right when I came in the door and I was driving out of the lot within 10 minutes. The truck operated just fine. The check-in process was a bit more cumbersome. It was obviously a rush hour to check trucks back in. I was third in line, but I was not seen for at least 15 minutes. There was only one person checking people in and it was clear that he was new (white shirt). However, once I was seen, this employee helped me get in as quickly as possible so that I could be on my way.
Great store and great crew. I walked right in they had my truck ready with everything I reserved in it. Moving is stressful enough and Im sure glad they made the rental part easy. Thanks guys!!
U-Haul a electronic autopay system didn’t work and U-Haul is charging the customers 30 more due to this error. Also trying to call customer service they are not available. There is a 30minute wait to talk on the phone??! This service is very inconvenient and not customer friendly. Not many has 30min to wait on the phone. Again bad customer service.
We ordered a trailer with insurance online. My mother had to pick up the trailer because she has a truck. They cancelled the insurance without our authority. When we tried to reinstate it, they refused to do it. They told us to come to the store in person to fix it. When we did, they still refused. They threated to call the cops if we didnt leave. Tyrone is the store manager. He laughed in our faces and then refused to help.
Horrible horrible customer service !!!! I waited in line 15 minutes before anybody even came to assist me then waited another 20 minutes just to turn in my rental van !!!! There’s a line of people who waited even longer than I did !!!! BEWARE!!!!
The picture they have up is of the old staff. They were awesome & goo, great people with real good personality. Not like this new staff they have now rude, & racist especially the new woman supervisor. I pay ever month on my storage.... I went to clean out a few things and was told I have to haul off my trash & thing to throw away somewhere else... they have a big Bend that we customers who pay cant use. I never been treated with such disrespect til u-haul got this new rude & very unprofessional group...
This is my 3rd time coming to this location. Its terrible. Wait is long if you get waited on at all. I stood for 35 minutes waiting for trailer light hook up. Still didnt get service i left..the same situation the 1st 2 times. Do not go here they are terrible at customer service.
I was very satisfied with the general manger ashley very polite and helpful but when i went to return the rental this morning one of her employees stopped me pulled me aside to threngthen me and tell me of a tv show i like and im a die hard fan of tht if he wasnt working he would rip my jacket off and beat my a#* if this is how uhaul hires help and lets there employees talk to customers bout a fictional tv show and threngthen customers tht come in and rent and pay money for truxks vans box trucks and this is how they do business then i will not be returning i felt very offended and i beleive he should not work for uhaul if he threngthens customers it is very unprofessional and unacceptable i was a manager and if one of my employees talk to a customers like tht they would be fired on the stop js so i love uhaul everyone else is great there except tht one guy i did not catch his name
Busiest day of the month and there is one guy Derrick here and he is slow as molasses. Taking his time and angry at something. Come on guys your the busiest store here. Smh
This is absolutely the worst storage I have EVER used!!! The employees are rude as hell, they will put new locks on your unit and lose the keys and then tell you that they gave them to you just to get all the way home and get a call that they found the keys they supposedly already gave you. When you move out of your unit they will continue to charge your debit card and not call you back when you request a refund.
Derrick dixon is seriously an awesome manager. he makes sure his customers are fully satisfied. if i could rate more than 5 stars i would . truck was clean when we rented and it drove perfectly with no problems. i definitely recommend this store to anyone . best uhaul place in jax .

Very dissatisfied, my rental truck was not inspected properly. The picture I posted was of my rental truck moments before the tire blew. I was scared to death, and the owner showed lack of concern. When i question them on why they would rent a truck with a tire in this condition, I was told that they would have to put the truck out for service and when they are busy, they can not do this. I was not even given any consideration when i used extra mileage just to go to the nearest uhaul for the tire to be changed. Which might I add, only took 20 min or less to change. It would have been better to wait for the tire to be fixed before I got behind the wheel. There was no hurry, I had a 24 hour reservation. Very very poor customer service.
Even tho there werent any trucka available in the size I needed they were super helpful and nice and gave me directions and a phone number for another place that had what I needed
Waited here for four hours for an hour and a half hitch installation. Whenever I would ask about the amount of time left I was told thirty minutes left and an hour later and my car still wasn’t ready. The service was slow and it seemed like they wanted to do everything but help me... even when there was no one here but me! Really disappointing visit.

These idiots put the trailer on my wifes vehicle wrong and sent her across the country. If not for a good person at a gas station who noticed it my wife could have been in serious danger. Dont use them they are very incompetent.
I had a scheduled drop off at my home for 2 U-boxes. I phoned to get arrival time and after the woman figured out what I wanted she said she spoke to another woman who said she would call me at the end of the week to let me know when they would be bringing them to me. I then asked to speak to the manager and the woman responded he us just going to say the same thing, put me on hold for 10 mins, I hung up and I called corporate office to make the formal complaint and cancelled my order. Manager hasnt even phoned to find out what the issue was, this proves these people do not care about customete service. 1st rule in customer service a happy customer will tell 2 people an unhappy customer will tell 2000. Well Jacksonville UHaul on Phillips Highway/University provides the worse customer service -go to Beach Blvd or better go with a different company.
Quoted 1.5 hours for hitch. It has now been 3.5 hours and they still are not done. Not recommended if your time is valuable
The greatest store out there ..... if they dont have the truck or rental that you need ....they will look at other stores for you ......the help they provide with a smile is great very nice crew and i rent alot from them for personal reasons and for business never ever had an issue .....they are the place to go ....and a shout out to the manager there she is very nice and great at doing her job and running her store

Love this U-Haul store and storeage!! I have used them twice now for truck rental and had a storeage unit both times Ive been here they have been very busy yet the staff had greeted me when I entered and were very helpful with my rentals! The crew is so personalable they joked, laughed its nice to go in some where and see a staff that is working and able to laugh with each other and the customers!! I didnt use the storage service ... but the customer service for a rental was FANTASTIC! Situation: I rented a trailer in St Augustine to pick up some furniture my wife bought on Ebay on our way home from vacation. Got to the pick up location and realized Trailer was not big enough. Called Uhaul central number and spoke to Jamie, who found another location (this one) with an available truck. I show up, Mike calls Jamie to get the details of my situation, they refund me the original Trailer and Mike takes over and finds me the best deal on Truck rental and we were on our way. Though I dont live in Jacksonville ... If I did I would use Uhaul and this location.
The folks at the Philips Hwy. and University Blvd. store have never failed to accommodate my needs! We have utilized their services numerous times over nearly 15 years and will do so again.

We got a trailer hitch for our GMC. stacey promised us a uHaul PowerTow but i come to pick it up and Kayleigh tells me okay, then ADDS the cost of that to the total. This is the problem when there are multiple associates and dont keep track of the promises they make to their customers.

Customer Service was Horrible... very slows processing in and when I called to say I would be just after their closing time for drop off, I was charged an entire extra day even though the rep on the phone said it was ok to drop off... I could have kept the trailer for the extra day instead of rushing back for the return! I would NEVER want to have to use this location again! Not a good experience at all.
