He’s working out of a minivan and I was supposed to meet with him at 1600 at a different location than where I dropped off. I even paid extra for same day service. I was stuck in traffic and showed up at 1625 and he said he left at 1620 and he’s not turning around and that I should have been there. A mobile business should be a little more flexible. Literally hung up the phone on me after I pleaded that I needed the uniform item for the next day. Didn’t mind charging me for same day but didn’t budge to make an extra effort because I was running late . TERRIBLE SERVICE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Store is closed. Working from portable location. Will only alter Navy and Coast Guard. Will not change out rank or name tapes on other military uniforms.

This is the ONLY person I trust with my uniforms. very attentive to detail, fast quality work and charges a great price even for an E3. Highly recommend.

If youre going there for uniforms, you made the right decision. This place is veteran owned so the guy knows the importance of following uniform instructions. Theyre qualified to embroider name tapes for type 3s. I took a brand new type 3 uniform to get everything on it and my dress blue top to get my new rank sewed on and I got all of them back in two days! And the work was beautiful! I was incredibly satisfied. Ill definitely go back if I need to.

Very rude and unhelpful. I went in to do a simple hem and said that they couldn’t help me whatsoever. I tried explaining how simple the hem would be because I had a separate pair of pants in hand that was the right length they could of used as a template. They still refused and were rude about it the whole time

My son-in -law is Army. He was just promoted and needed a simple hem. They refused services on the phone saying they couldnt. He thought if he went in to show them they would see how simple it was to do and explain to them the regulations he needed for his branch it might help. However they blew him off not even trying to listen. Nowhere on the building does it say NAVY only. They may specialized in military alterations but clearly no one there has any common sense.

If you are currently deciding where to go to get your uniform items sewn in Jacksonville, do yourself a favor and just go here. They are friendly, fast, and reasonably priced. Ive been going for 5 years and will continue to go for the foreseeable future.

I’ve been to this alterations shop several times and I always get great service. Sure some days the owners are nicer than others, but isn’t that how everyone is? Some things they are unable to do like zippers and stretchy material but that is understandable as you have to have certain equipment to do that. These people know what they are doing.

Great service! I always take my uniforms here, sometimes a few days and sometimes a week. I use to work at an alteration place and some days are busier than others. Veteran owned and family ran. Never rude and very knowledgeable about the navy and coast guard uniforms (obviously)

Veteran owned. Great prices and they are quick with any alteration. They do same day and next day sewing. They also make name tapes for all kinds of uniforms including the type 3. If you just made rank they have a bin of used crows you can pick from for free and theyll sew them on for you. Never had any issues here.

I called ahead to see how much it would be to sew on name tapes and rank insignia on an ODU blouse and a man on the phone said $6 per blouse. There was an error on the sheet they quoted me so I didn’t catch the price difference. Ended up charging me $41, extremely outrageous for two blouses that I had provided everything for. Lady who rang me up was extremely rude and couldn’t be bothered. Go somewhere else or learn to use a sewing machine.

I have attempted to have my work uniforms altered on two separate occasions and both times they were unable to help me. The first was to hopefully correct some alterations that were poorly done by a different place. This business refused to even look at my jacket to see if it could be corrected and offered no help or even suggestions at all. On my second attempt to have a uniform shirt altered I was turned away once again because they were too busy and told to come back after the holidays. There will not be a third attempt. Apparently they dont need my money.

Come here for the better name tags otherwise let the NEX sew your stuff on.

Brought a uniform in to sew on two shoulder patches on the shoulders like any other law enforcement, fire department or rescue department uniform for them to immediately say I do not know how sew that.

Mayport Alterations is not worth the time. They are incapable of doing any actual alterations, including hemming pants! If you need a new nametag gir your coveralls, great. Outside of that, useless. They should just be called Mayport Nametags.
