Food seemed to be home cooked . Just found it amazing that we were there before two other couples and we received our food last. Many children working there and owner micro managed everything. Honestly this is not a good Italian place to go for people of any color than white. Political views not good in business place. Server was good but I notice all said the same things as if they were actors. But wait are they
The food and drinks were both very good. However, we waited nearly 2 hours for our party of 2 to receive our meals. They were rather busy and our server was polite (though rarely accessible). However, I will definitely return. It will probably just be on a slower night.
What a pleasure. We believe we have found one of the best Italian Restaurants in the Southside of Jacksonville. First the location is great with plenty of parking. We arrived at 5:30pm and were seated right away. Our server Angela was attentive all evening taking our orders and checking if all was Ok several times, even though they were busy, including offering us additional Blue Cheese Dressing when we asked for our extra wedge salad to go. We ordered a of a cup of Corn Chowder 5 🌟 and the Salad Wedge which again was so huge that we took half of it home and an outstanding 5 🌟. The Entree menu offers a good but not overwhelming selection which means they can be attentive to the quality of food that leaves the kitchen. Bill ordered the Eggplant with a pasta side. I decided on the Stuffed Shrimp Special both were excellent 5 🌟 and so large that we had take home boxs. Had a chance to speak with the owner who thanked all those who leave comments on this site as she said my customers are my eyes and ears as I cannot see all that is going on behind me. A native of Rome Italy she has brought the flavors and quality here and we will surely visit again and again becoming a regular for the future.
Good Pizza, Service was decent, Broccoli tasted previously frozen, mushy and unflavorful. The house Merlot was pretty bad. (I could not drink it) The garlic rolls were absolutly HORRIBLE. They tasted like stale regular dinner rolls that they added butter and garlic to.(see pic) But I have to say; despite the above thier red sauce and marinara were on point! and the pizza and crust were good. Thats why im rating a 3 and not a 1 for the other stuff. If you need a pizza i can see it but the rest I would be cautious.
Awesome FOOD and Service. Valerie made us feel at home and made the best recommendations for our dining experience. Even with the low staffing level the service was fast and satisfactory. Our first visit to this restaurant but it won’t be our last. Thanks again Valerie
The food is okay however the pasta that we were served was way overdone. You cannot call yourself an Italian restaurant if you cant cook pasta. A meal in a restaurant never leaves the kitchen unless it is right, hope that the pizza is better. Further the marinara sauce is recycled pizza sauce, an Italian restaurant makes their marinara from scratch. Note: scratch does not include a a can of in the recipe. Gia Russa out of the jar is better, and they are also from northern Italy. Pretty good wine list. Nice selection of dishes and friendly staff. However the owner never came by to talk to us which is indicative of someone who doesnt care, seems too busy for customers.
Great food, great service, and very friendly people. The portions of food are more than enough, the prices are fair as well. If you like Sangria, I highly recommend theirs.
Had the longest day ever, ordered take out here and it was everything I wanted. The rolls were yummy, the minestrone was AMAZING, and the rosalia’s white wine pasta we got was good but bland. I’m not sure if we got a weird batch- it didn’t have any salt or really any seasoning in it. All in all it was filling and inexpensive, I’m happy!
First time eating here tonight not sure how I haven’t heard of this place before. The food was Great the garlic knots were the best I had in a long time. They actually use chopped/sliced garlic not the minced jar garlic. Pizzas tasted great also they were a little cold by the time they came out. We will be back for more.
If I could give this restaurant a negative star I would. Do not waste your hard earned money or time going there. The service was absolutely horrible. The daughter of the owner (Elizabeth, our server) was very disrespectful and rude. After not being served and waiting for 45 minutes we decided to leave. She then had the audicity ot tell my husband, 8 month old son and myself that they dont need customers like us when what she should have done was apologize. Get in a new line of work Elizabeth and Rosalia, reevaluate your staff.
I’m a family oriented person. Across the board what I expect in an Italian family restaurant. Homemade everything. Tell your friends.
The food was hot and on time. Delicious was the only word that came to mind as I ate my meal. Staff here were very friendly and very professional. A very nice Italian gem. I will be back for more.
These guys are great. Love going there for dinner or just grabbing a pizza to go!!
Very good place to eat. Smelled so good inside and was clean and quit and had the Italian wedding soup. It was very delicious. Our server was excellent as well will definitely eat here again. Recommended to anyone that wants great dining.
Being from up North I have to say that the stuffed mushrooms 🍄in tempura is an awesome appetizer. The Margarita Pizza was delicious. I loved everything about it. The owner is such a sweetheart too! Wonderful staffWell be back soon ❤
We walked in as an employee was leaving.....come to find out the employee put in a request for vacation two months in advance and was told no. So she quit and walked out. The food is definitely not worth the price. $32 for blackened grouper....was definitely not worth the price. Top shelf prices for low to middle quality food. Needless to say....we wont be returning.
We have been to this location before with the previous owners and we were not left satisfied. I always try to give places a second chance and I am glad we did! New owners make a difference! I noticed the employees in the kitchen constantly washing their hands, I take that as a good sign. Coming from someone who has a background working in the food service... clean hands and food safety are a must. We were very impressed with the food and how great it tasted. The wait was a little long when it came to getting our orders taken after we placed our appetizer. Crispy pizza, great sauce, amazing tasting deserts... what more could you want?
Just awful. But I expect this was an anomaly. I was going to write about the extra crispy, dry Italian sausage or the chicken breast wrongly served as chicken parm. But when we paid the waitress apologized for “the kitchen”. She said there were only 2 people in there. The place was crowded with what seemed to be locals. So while I would not go back I expect this was just a bad day. Ps. I see the owner attacks commenters and claims they should complain in the restaurant rather than on reviews. That would defeat the purpose of reviews.
Shelby took care of our order. She carefully took the time to help guide us through our order and thoughtfully prepared it for us before calling to let us know it was ready.I know to-go orders are usually seen as secondary behind seated customers but you couldn’t tell from this service. Myself and my wife now look forward to visiting with friends in person. If that’s how to-go orders are processed, we have to try dining in!Great job all! We’ll be back. Happy new year!
My husband & I went here for dinner tonight for the 1st time & it was fantastic! The service was a little slow, but you cant blame them for that when theyre short staffed because people dont want to work these days. While it took a little longer than usual, it didnt feel like too long considering we ordered an appetizer, they brought delicious rolls & we also had the soup & salad that came with our meals. I got the penne alla vodka with chicken & my husband had the chicken parm.. both were delicious. Came out nice & hot which is a must for me & were both so tasty. We love to support family owned small businesses & will definitely be back for more & tell all of our friends & family about it in the mean time!
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Had the traditional favorites Spaghetti and Meatballs and my wife had linguini with Alfredo sauce but you could taste all the fresh ingredients. Will definitely go back to see Rosalia.
Our first experience here. It was very good. The restaurant came highly recommended and we see why.The food is very good; Chicken Parm, Calzone and the Stuffed Mushrooms. Sinatra and Martin music playing in the background was an added touch. Our Server Melissa was excellent and attentive. If you are looking for a very good Italian restaurant this is your place.
Just finished eating here. The food was delicious, portion size was generous for the price. Pricing was on point. Atmosphere was quite and comfortable. I would recommend Rosalias 100 times over. Keep it up!
Great service. Good live music. Good food
My wife and I stopped here for dinner and were greatly disturbed. No masks were worn and when we asked our server to wear one came with attitude. Owner was incredibly rude and was continuously yelling and correcting the staff during our dinner, very unprofessional. Food wasnt great, disgusted that the cooks dont wear masks or gloves when there is a virus going around and are handling food. Believe in masks or not, its unsanitary. Would recommend going somewhere more friendly and clean.
The food was excellent be prepared for a leisurely meal no need to be in a hurry come to enjoy. This is Italian cuisine for the family atmosphere slow down relax.
Stopped here after a long drive.Food: scale of 1-5, two and its that high because I was hungry, red sauce taste strange like is missing an important ingredient.Community health awareness: scale 1-5, zeroEmployee health awareness: scale 1-5, zero
Pizza, salad, garlic bread! All excellent with awesome service!
The best experience I have had in a long time. It was amazing to see real people, their faces without fear. The people here are angels.
I visited Rosalia’s for the first time 12-18-2020 and was amazingly impressed. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Grace was our waitress and she was so personable and professional. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with a Caesar salad. The salad was so fresh and the eggplant was piled high and seasoned to perfection. It was my birthday and had a complimentary dessert of which I choose cheesecake. It was delicious. The owner, Rosalia came to our table to introduce herself and wanted to know if all was ok. She visited all the tables which I thought was very admirable.I highly recommend this restaurant for great Italian food and I will definitely go back.
Its been quite a challenge to find good pizza in this area... Glad to report that we have a winner! I dont miss much of NJ but the pizza was pretty good almost everywhere so to find Rosalinas is a blessing. I also had the calamari which also hit the mark being perfectly cooked and tender. The marinara sauce was perfect. My daughter ate here last week and couldnt say enough about the homemade tiramisu. Great job. Glad we found you. We will be back. Very nice to meet you Rosalina!
Amazing food and A+++ service, from the bread to the balsamic that i could literally drink I was blown away, would recommend 10/10
Some of the friendliest service I have experienced in a long time. Food and atmosphere nothing short of outstanding!
I had the desire for some good Italian food but did not know where to go. I did what most of us do nowadays, a Google search. With all the positive reviews that Rosalias received, I suggested to my girlfriend, we give it a try. One of the first things you notice about a restaurant is the ambiance. When we walked in, we immediately noticed how nice and quite it was. The restaurant was 3/4 filled with happy patrons talking and eating in a civilized manor. Right away, we felt at home.As for the food, my girlfriend had the Lobster Ravioli while I ordered one of the specials. I forgot the name but it consisted of shrimp and scallops over linguini in a cream sauce. It was simply to die for. My girlfriend accompanied her meal with a cabernet and for me, I ordered a Limoncello Martini that was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was nice, friendly and attentive which was no surprise when we found out her name was Rosalia! This is the kind of restaurant you want to tell your friends about so they can share the excellent experience.
This restaurant has such a great atmosphere. The staff is so friendly, polite, and attentive. The Italian Wedding soup is really good. I have loved everything I have tried. I absolutely recommend this place if your craving Italian.
Service is amazing! Food is even better! Came here because we saw no mask mandatory and it is very refreshing to see! Highly recommended!
Excellent service wonderful people. I hope the rude individual that is upset because her children were out of control and screaming while we were enjoying our meal good doesn’t return. That will ensure a great atmosphere for all of us who know how to behave and respectful to everyone!
First experience we had there was going to the restaurant and being seated and no one came over for even a drink order after 15 minutes. The table behind us was seated 5 minutes after us and had their full order taken and we had not even seen our server yet. We decided to leave. We tried to give them a second chance and ordered take out. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, lobster ravioli, and chicken Marsala. The mushrooms were plain and was nothing special. The lobster ravioli had a horrible fishy flavor to it which made it inedible. The Marsala was extraordinarily bland and was a true disappointment. We won’t be going back.
Love love love Rosalias. Rosalia and Dante are amazing and are always very friendly. Love that they give us the choice to where masks and are willing to put one on if you ask them to. One of the most friendly people I have ever met. Thank you for coming to my side of town.
Service was great owner was so rude. Will never go back. Not kid friendly at all.Response: my kids were not continuously interrupting other guest. In fact the table of 6 that was closets to us said the kids were behaving just fine. It’s funny how you have time to reply to a google review but when it counted you were too busy to talk while we were there. I believe your response what and I quote “I am busy and do t have time for this” then preceded to walk away. Very unprofessional. As a business owner I would never handle my customers the way you did.
I was looking for a new pizza place in the area but then I read the reviews.. Yikes on bikes. PASS!
I did a curb side pickup so I can’t speak to a dining experience but the service from the gentleman who took the order to the gentleman bringing it to my car was friendly. The server even thanked me for supporting Rosalia’s during this odd time. I would certainly return! Plus they have vegetarian options!
The food, wine, atmosphere, and staff were all excellent. I would highly recommend Rosalia’s if your looking for a family friendly Italian restaurant for lunch or dinner!!
The reason I give it three stars is because its Charming and the service was great I would give it five stars if the food could only match its appearance!
DoorDash does a pretty good job of pairing ordersAnd in this case door dash does not allow me to go deliver one order first and come back for the second which is why I was making you aware of the situation after you’re rude remark. Which then I proceeded to speak with support.BTW I do know who I work for I work for MEI provide a service to DoorDash that then DoorDash provides to YOUI’m a INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORNot a EMPLOYEEI have a 4.92 rating on DoorDashI have delivered 1200+ times successfullyActions like mine!?1. Spoke with the owner of the restaurant over the situation2. Speak with support about the situation3. Post my experience on Google reviewAt what point was I disrespectful!?Ps. you have a attitude on a holiday that’s what it has to do with it.*Disclaimer*this part has been added after the owner responded.1. Google review is for everyone.2. YOU should take care of YOUR Business(again I’m a independent contractor)3. YOU should be nice every day because you’re the one with the attitude problem just like all the other negative reviews saying that you’re rude.I have no business going to your establishment at no point have you tried to Deescalate the situation and now you’re being offensive calling me a coward. No take your review. learn to be nice.Maybe if you ask nicely I’ll think about it.
I bought a specialty calzone pepperoni, green pepper, mushroom. It was huge and delicious and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back to try other things.I tried a calzone at another place I wont mention their name but its a one letter name 22nd letter of alphabet. Theirs wasnt as big and cost quite a bit more. AND Rosalias tasted better.
Haven’t tried anythin other than the pizza but they make some of the best pizza in Jax. I went in for a pick up order went home ate some and had my father come home a little later and tried it and immediately said where is this from ?!? I told him this place where Roma’s previously was and he said wow they make pizzas very good order another .. picked up two pies back to back that’s how good they are. Wasn’t a fan of Roma’s the restaurant that was located here before but Rosalias came in and gave this plaza a great Italian food and pizza spot... this is my go to from now on for pizza. Ran into the owner today and let go know how much I enjoyed their pies and to keep up the fantastic cooking. Nice people good customer service and most importantly amazing food!Highly recommended
Excellent food, excellent service, and our srver Veronica was polite, and a beautiful young, woman.
Great Pizza and customer service.
Since I arrived from NY, Ive been craving for good Italian cuisine. I had no luck. When I heard of Rosalias restaurant, I was a bit skeptic. But I said to myself how bad can lt be. To my suprise, it was great. The waitress, Angelina, was the best. The food was fantastic. Last, but not least, the place is the best I have seen here in Florida. It was that good, that I will be going back with my boys and grandma. Its a must if you havent try it.
Im there at least twice a week..Food and service is excellent. Two nights ago there was a little problem of someones children not behaving. Happens.. But we moved to the Bar so as not to hear them as much..The customer should not give Rosalias a bad review after saying the service was great. All because Rosalia had to go and speak to her after other customers were getting upset.
I Ordered 2 calzones by phone and the person that took the order was very nice, when I went to pick them up the employees quickly welcomed me. The restaurant fell warm and cozy. Finally I got home and the calzones had a great taste, size and were packed with cheese/ meat. Will go back soon
This is authentic Italian food, the kind my grandma used to make. Great food, excellent service and all the comforts of home!
Very disappointed. No masks ANYWHERE during a pandemic. Saw commercial on TV, decided to give it a try. Placed a to go order, got there and the pizza was sitting on the marble counter, cold. 14 pizza measures about 13, couldnt feed 3 people, had to order a 2nd pie. Waited outside for 30 minutes in front of the door, guy said he would bring it out, went inside to find out where the pizza was. Rude guy said he went outside looking for me 3 times, BS ! I was watching the door for 30 minutes like a hawk. 2 cold pizzas and $40.00 later NEVER AGAIN ! Fool me once. Owner responded 99% of the customers like the mask optional. I guess I am the 1%. I sat outside of your door for over half an hour, no one came out. $40.00 for 2 small pizzas/ LOL. Much better pizzerias in Jax. Will stick with Tonys on Beach. Better pizza and less attitude
Great little Italian place. Friendly owner and staff, and great food!
The restaurant was well lit and drinks were good. The chicken picacta we ordered was undercooked however and we didnt notice till we got home and went to heat up leftovers. The steak was good though.
My best find yetI am an Italian food junkie, always looking for a good Italian restaurant wherever I go or watching for one to open in my city. I have found, in my opinion, the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten at Rosalias at the end of St Augustine rd at Phillips highway. People, if you haven’t tried it, you must, you will be pleasantly surprised with the food, ambiance, prices and friendliness of the staff. It’s a very comfortable place to eat, never rushed and a very complete menu of authentic Italian dishes. Not a high priced place where you always have to wait and need a reservation to get in, just a local family owned restaurant, but with all the amenities, white table cloths, a very nice bar, and a lot of attention. I highly recommend the Lasagna, never been a fan of lasagna, but Rosalia’s has me hooked. The cheesiest lasagna I’ve ever had. Ive tried most of the menu now, but I have to say, her lasagna tops any I’ve ever tried, and it was recommended to me as well by another of her happy patrons. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry.Lynn Byron, very happy to find yet another fabulous Italian restaurant, and it’s in my own home town.
Made a dish for me not on the menu. Rosalie came to our table of 11 and thanked us. We already have plans to return.
Love Rosalias!! Excellent food, service, and the people are the best. Very family friendly ❤️❤️❤️
Went there last night with family,we tried Olive Garden but it was packed so we decided to stop at Rosalias on our way home.we ordered appetizer, antipasto,i could do a better plate arrangement, all look mushy and old.We ordered also meatballs for children, chicken parm and chicken franchese for myself, thinking of Maggianos franchese.Oh lord, what a disgusting taste, even the smell,i gave a tiny bite and couldn’t do a sec one,i can’t explain, its like a raw chicken flavor, the pasta was so creamy and wet,My husband liked the meatballs tho.Children barelly touch the chicken parm.Nevee again, plus place is a free zone,no one wear masks, not even the workers, very uncomfortable place to be at this moment.Awful food.My mom can cook way better.Just 🤮 gross
Great food and great ambiance! Rosalia completely attentive to all customers! Love this place!❤️
The hardest part was choosing what I wanted to eat. Freindly waitress and great cook. 12/10/2020
Didn’t like anything. I would not recommend this place!
Best Italian food around! And to the the woman who said the owner is rude, we were there that night and the owner was very upset that she had to say something to you. You are rude for letting your kids ruin our night out and every other patron that was there that night. The way you let your kids behave you should take them to Chucky Cheese.
Finally found a great Italian restaurant in the area! My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight and had a delicious dinner. Spaghetti with Italian sausage that had a generous amount of a bright marinara sauce and perfectly cooked sausage. Eggplant parmigiana that was lightly fried, stacked and topped with sauce and mozzarella. The light breading and frying was just right- this wasn’t the heavy or greasy dish that many places serve. My boyfriend couldn’t get enough of the melt in your mouth garlic rolls. After chatting with Rosalia and learning the desserts were made in house, we decided to take a few cannolis home. They were perfect- crispy and tasty shells that were filled when we ordered, smooth and creamy filling made just right. We will be back!
The experience was fantastic great service from Mrs. Rosalia herself the food was authentic Italian great food great wine and great service what more could you ask for
Yummy meatball sub and their fries have olive oil, garlic and a sprinkle of spices on them! Did not try many things; lunch date had philly and it looked good. Ranch dressing for dipping fries was spot on. I need to go back and try for dinner.
First time dining there tonight. Packed house! Staff was amazing. We did not feel rushed. Food was well prepared! Shrimp cooked to perfection. We had appetizer and main course. We would recommend this place to all!
Grouper special was fantastic.
I work nearby and have never eaten at this place before, but I love pizza so I thought I would try them. The restaurant was very clean and well organized; the server was polite and quick. I ordered a small cheese pizza and a slice of cheesecake. I do not like strawberries on cheesecake, so they substituted raspberry for me. The server was spot on with the cooking times – I was in and out in like 15 minutes – Awesome job. The only reason I did not give 5-Stars was the cheesecake. $7 for a slice of cheesecake – it was very dry and had little to no flavor – even with the raspberry drizzle. I could have went next-door to the baker and gotten a slice of cheesecake twice the size for half the cost. I would definitely go back – but not for the desserts.
The greatest service and Italian food in the area. March is amazing bartender. You better come early.
Great atmosphere and great food. Portions are very generous. I’ve been there twice in the past two months and the service is super slow. I think Rosalia needs to help the restaurant and not be a server. She was the waitress both times and tables with other servers got their food in half the time. Both visits food took nearly an hour. I really want this restaurant to be successful!
Out of town and came across this gem. Great service and amazing food! Good portions! Excellent service! Thanks March for a great experience!
Saw all the great reviews on the internet so we decided to try it. (We had previously tried it under the old ownership) and it was great! Had great gluten free options and the waiter was knowledgeable. My husband loved the $3 draft beers. We will definitely be back. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because their cheesecake isn’t gluten free. :)
Best pizza Ive had in years. Good food. Has full bar too.
Best pizza I’ve had in a very long time.
Great food, great service
We got there around 7 on a Saturday so we expected a wait. Hostess told us about a 30 minute wait but it ended up being about an hour wait. Thats understandable, obviously she cant predict when other tables are going to leave. Once we sat our server was awesome. He came to the table right away, got our drink orders, and an app. App and drinks came out super fast. We ordered a 14 inch pizza and the lobster ravioli. LOBSTER RAVIOLI WAS AMAZING. also good for breakfast the next day lol. Didnt get to try the pizza. Drinks were a little overpriced... $9.50 for a single Crown and coke.
Food is excellent. Atmosphere is warm and friendly. Employees and owner are a delight.
I had a specialty pizza last night and it was excellent. The entire staff makes you feel like youre family. I will be a regular customer.
The bill was fair. They have so many good reviews for a reason.
This place is amazing from food to servers and even the owner is great and down to earth. My daughter even loved how personalbale they all were. We definitely will be going back. They made customers for life with us!!
Excellent food, great service, nice venue.
Outstanding local authentic Italian food, daily specials, not overpriced. People dream about having a romantic Italian food spot near them - this one delivers. My wife and I like to pickup food after work (Lasagna for her, MEATBALLS for me). There are always friendly people at the bar in conversation, families getting together over pasta and couples enjoying a glass of wine. Do yourself a favor and check out this local gem. Seriously though try the meatballs!!! (and the cheesecake)
Shocked to see sign on door todayMasks Optional ?? Law mandates masks in DuvalCounty plus 100% occupancyWow. No one working there had masks on. We left feeling very unsafeAnother couple walked up and read sign, turned around and left also!
It is casual dining and yet the tables have table cloths, nice silverware, good service, a fine bar selection and warm atmosphere. We had lasagna with a delicious salad and soup. The very nice owner, Rosalia, served us!
At last we found you again! We had Italian Wedding Soup, Chicken Francese with angel hair pasta garlic and oil. Also had Eggplant Parmigiana with salad and garlic rolls. Absolutely the best food ever, could not rate the food more highly. Restaurant itself tasteful decor, and service was very friendly and attentive. GLAD to see you back! A definite come back place. So we DID! We got there for lunch another day and ate a delicious PIZZA!!!
Rosalias was just perfect. They accommodated our large group with ease. The food, atmosphere and yes even the prices were awesome. The staff was like having dinner with your family. Clean wholesome goodness when you dine with Rosalia. Oh yea the sangria was fabulous! Thank you for providing the perfect place to gather and celebrate with the best of friends.
Appetizer of calamari were excellent. The garlic bread knots are fantastic. The entree Frau Shrimp Diavlo was well prepared. The red sauce lacked somewhat in seasoning but may have been overpowered by the crushed red pepper. The waitress was pleasant and was attentive without being intrusive. Will return as we may have been there on an off night.
Great food love the atmosphere great service
Best italian place around Jacksonville and Saint Augustine ...if you wanna enjoy a fresh meal made by the nice owners definetly this is the place ..excellent service and really good food
Regular at Rosalia’s. However, disappointed that young man who brought pizza to car didn’t have a mask on. We are senior citizens who look forward to a good pizza, but no mask and having to sign receipt after giving credit card no. when ordering was disconcerting. Please be considerate of all your customers Rosalia.
