We’ve used Spencer for several projects, as well as AC maintenance. Our most recent project was an outdoor shower. Spencer and his crew are great! They were professional, prompt, and finished the project on time! The price was competitive, and the finished product was awesome! I don’t think I’ve showered inside since they finished it! We had a closet installed at the end of a hallway. Though the job took a little longer than expected, the final result is amazing and we are very happy! This linen closet looks like it’s always been there and a part of the original house.

I called this company for an estimate on a kitchen remodel on a home I planned to purchase. Apparently some jobs are too big because when I told him what I wanted to do, I was told it can’t be done. After I disagreed, I was told it could be done but it would need to be subbed out to a Plummer.That’s not the bad part- after walking around property I planned to buy but didn’t own yet, I learned that this business left 4 stickers on all AC units to advertise their business as if they did the work. Luckily, I found the stickers before they baked on the outside the AC units.After more than 4 weeks, I never received the kitchen Reno estimate that was too big for this company.

We hired Spencer to paint the inside and outside of our house and we couldnt be happier with their work. They power washed, primed and painted our entire house white, and it looks amazing. We had Spencer out to do some drywall repair, but ended up with so much more !! With his recommendations of a wooden slat ceiling and an accent wall, our homes entry hall/ foyer is now a showpiece and he did it for not very much more than a straight drywall finish would have cost. His attention to detail and safety (replacing an old outlet that could have been a fire hazard) amazed us. I strongly recommend DO NOT HIRE Spencer for hire. Theres no customer service what so ever. Once your work is done, they dont come back or help you out if a problem arises because of their work. I have had several handyman companies work for me before and I have always had good experiences. I end up using them more than once for different projects in my house. I have also referred them to friends. But, this guy, Spencer for Hire handyman company based out of Jacksonville left me with one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The reason I hired them was because I am new to the area and did not know about them. Should have checked their reviews. Spencer, the owner of the company will come to give you an estimate and he talks really sweet and nice. But thats it, he will not respond or take care of you after you have paid him even if the problem still persists. Be careful before you hire this company.

I would highly recommend this company. They were professional and did a great job. They replaced a door, frame, trim and baseboard, cleaned the ac and replaced an over flow switch on the air handler. The cost was very reasonable.

If I could leave zero stars I would. This was possibly the worst experience I’ve had with a contractor of any sort, and I’ve had a lot of experience. I’m pretty handy myself, so I could do most of the things I hired Spencer for, but I was in a time crunch, so I hired him because he had good reviews. I don’t know if people don’t know what quality looks like, or just hired him to do really simple things, but my experience does not come anywhere close to matching what some of these other reviewers have said. I hired him to do a lot of things, from installing vanities and toilets, to replacing a large portion of drywall, to painting the whole house. Mostly because he kept saying “oh I can take care of that for you too”. The toilets were all installed incorrectly and had to be redone. The plumbing work he did all had to be redone in fact, and the licensed plumber that came out said it was clear “DIY looking” work. I was told a vanity “could not” be centered under the vanity light after it was already installed. I redid that work myself and now it’s perfectly centered. The new faucet I purchased to install in one bathroom was so damaged it had to be replaced. The knee wall I had them cut was not level and I had to work with Spencer to make it level, as he didn’t seem to understand how a level works. And then there was the painting...this was without a doubt the worst paint job I’ve ever seen - professional or not. Every line in the house was wavy. There were bare spots of paint, paint spilled on the floor, a handrail that was painted but not sanded, so it feels like sandpaper as I use it to come down the stairs. And they rinsed their paint brushes in my front driveway, so it was stained with paint. Ultimately I had to ask him to leave because I didn’t want him damaging anything ese in the house. Please please please, do yourself a favor and find someone that’s actually qualified to do this work.

Spencer and his team are outstanding! I would give them ten stars if I could. They pressure washed and painted my home, fixed some interior doors, installed a garbage disposal, cleaned my A/C unit and installed new exterior lighting and door hardware on my front door. He even discovered some wood rot around my chimney and fixed that as well. His crew, Nick in particular, were diligent, on time, paid attention to small details, were incredibly polite and knowledgable, and left their workspace cleaner than when they found it. Spencer will be my first call the next time I need some help around the home. Great experience and could not recommend them higher.
