My regular air conditioner company owner retired and we had used them for 15 years. They recommended TROPIC AIRE. I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. Fast! Great service. Technician was very professional, and knowledgeable. Provided upkeep advice to avoid unnecessary issues in the future. He worked in the rain! (now thats dedication). I did however have some questions about cost, as it was much more than I expected. So I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager after service was completed. The owner called me back the same day! was very respectful and helpful to explain, and put my concerns at ease. All said and done A+. Still pricey though 😉

I had an issue with my unit, and these folks were able to get someone out same day to fix it. I asked for a 30 minute heads up because I was at work, and they were kind enough to do this for me so I could make it home in time for the tech. Im sorry I dont remember the techs name, but he was super nice and informative, answering any questions I had. The price was worth the quick and friendly service! Id call them again if I have any other issues :)

They charged me $900 for a motor that costs $115. In a time when the economy was in bad shape. Thats called gouging. I dont appreciate it. You are crooked.

This company was absolutely great. Our AC unit gave up on us Wednesday and they had someone come out and check it within a few hours. The unit had to be completely replaced. Mike Sietsma Came out and did the estimate and he was phenomenal. He showed me everything and explained it so I understood what he was talking about. He set me up for the next morning to have it replaced. I am so thankful because it was 82 degrees in the house. Great company and would 100% recommend them.

My A/C went out on a Sunday when it was 90 degrees outside. I contacted Tropic Air Monday morning spoke with Cheryl Jones, she was very professional and had me a quote in about 2 hrs. They were booked that day but was able to come out and install new unit on Tuesday. The technicians that came out were very polite and efficient. Just wanted to give a BIG shout out to the whole team, great work and I LOVE LOVE my new A/C.

He performed the most detailed annual maintenance of any tech who has ever visited us. I believe we were his last call of the day, and with temps approaching triple digits his entire day, followed by torrential downpour while performing his service for us, I would have forgiven corner-cutting. I saw none of that. He was extremely polite, seemed very knowledgeable, and exhibited an impeccable attention to detail. The team from Tropic Aire were great! From the salesperson to my installers, all my questions were answered and I could tell they have the experience and knowledge that only comes from years of doing HVAC. My inlaws had a similar Mistu Mini-Split installed in their FL room and once I saw it and realized how QUIET and EFFICIENT it was, we had to get one. We have a large 34x15 FL room that got pretty miserable in the FL heat. We went with a 2Ton 20.5 SEER unit that has no problem keeping the all glass porch comfortable. When my main house unit needs to be replaced, I will be calling the team at Tropic Aire!! Thanks again, the Hortons!

Extremely disappointed in this company. I would warn everyone to bring your business elsewhere. After having some problems with our AC we called out Tropic Aire. A technician came by and told us everything was working properly and that there were no problems. This was mind boggling to me as the AC was making a horrific sound every time that it ran. Sure enough, about a month later the entire unit stopped working. We then called out a different company as I no longer trusted the work of Tropic Aire. This second company informed us that it was apparent that the problem had been going on for some time. I then reached out to Tropic Aire to inquire about receiving a refund for the service fee we were charged. If I am going to pay a service fee, I expect the service provided to be quality and accurate, which in this case it was not. I got on the phone with a manger who was extremely condescending and very unwilling to make the situation right. I understand that mistakes happen and maybe their technician happen to miss something. However, the manager never offered a refund and was insistent that they did nothing wrong.If you are looking for an AC company I HIGHLY recommend reaching out to Donovan. Their technician was beyond professional and very polite. He took his time to offer us advice moving forward. The quality of work was outstanding from Donovan.

Tropic Aire just installed an entire new SEAR 16 system for my home and new ductwork. The process from beginning to end was fantastic. Their team of professionals were exceptionally knowledgeable and patient. They were extremely focused on ensuring I understood each step of the process before, during and after the install. After retiring from a lifetime in architecture & construction, my wife and I decided to add a glass-enclosed sunroom to our home. We researched the available contractors in Jacksonville that met my exacting requirements which included both the quality of their work and willingness to resolve problems. Being in management with an electrical company I know what to expect from my electricians at a customers home and these guys hit a home run with me.They did a phenomenal job with my mini split units, they were thorough with explaining what needed to be done and followed through. Once the job was competed they cleaned up behind themselves looking like they were never there.....very impressed with this company. They are the only A/C company Ill allow back in my home and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Go figure our AC would go out the wknd after Christmas with 80+ degree heat. We had been using Shaw Heating & Air for years but found Mr. Shaw had retired. He recommended Tropic Air and his recommendation was good enough for us. They arrived promptly - and on New Years Eve no less - and quickly diagnosed the problem which was severe. For the amount of work done, we found the price extremely fair & were very pleased. They were prompt, courteous, tidy, and affordable. So glad they were recommended & we will use them next time.

This is the second time I have used the service of Tropic Aire. On both occasions, I have received the best customer service I could hope for. The office staff is top notch, the repair and install crews are respectful and on time, and the prices are good. Today I had a new Rheem A/C system installed. The appointment was for 0900. The crew showed up at 0835 ready to work. Not once did I see the crew standing around - they stayed busy. When they broke for lunch half the crew stayed behind and kept working while the other half ate. At the end of the day the crew lead checked all the vents in the house, instructed my wife and I how to use the new Honeywell smart thermostat and ensured all our needs were covered. I inspected the work and it is all buttoned up and clean. They left no mess behind and ensured my furniture was covered where they put new vents in. My new A/C is now blowing at 53.5 degrees F.TL;DR: Tropic Aire will get my business again. Wonderful company and excellent work. Would recommend to anyone needing Air or Heating work.

Will always recommend and use Tropic Aire going forward. After we realized our heat wasnt working with expected lows in the 30s and 2 children in the home, we reached out to Tropic Aire. Our landlord was in a panic because she was out of state on business and asked me to call a company I trusted. A technician was dispatched moments after I hung up the phone. Before long we had a functional heater thanks to our tech Craig who was respectful and very informative. When I texted our landlord the summary and total cost she was shocked at how fairly we were treated. Shes now going to use them in her own home.

**Update*** I called to try and amend things with the company and have them come out and service the unit following their response on Facebook but was then told very rudely that they would not come out to my residence until all posts about them were removed. A little sensitive to the truth I think, but Waychoffs heating and air was more than happy to right their wrong and was much friendlier about doing so. Jim Jones pride will be the demise of his company and trying to keep your customer from having an opinion is not the way to grow as a business. ***Update***Have a unit that is less than 3 years old. Unit is not working or putting out any cold air at all. Have changed our air filters every month and kept area around unit clean. When I called to let them know of the issues I am told that all that is covered is parts and basically all labor has to be paid and they will do me a favor and throw a diagnostic fee in there (hold the favors please). Nice to know now that the people selling this unit don’t even stand behind it. Will not be using them for any further services and I am terribly disappointed considering these are people that my grandparents held in high standings. Bad business practice and I would rather pay to have a new unit put in then let this company get another dime. This is not how I was sold on using their services.

We had a new air-conditioning system installed and they sent a team of 5 -6 people. The completed the job in one day. They were polite and hard working gentleman, Id recommend them to anyone!

Weve never had a bad experience with this company. Ive called them out thinking I needed a costly repair only to have them tell me I only needed something inexspensive. Its wonderful to be able to work with a company you can trust.

Micah was great, he answered all the questions I had and went into thorough detail. There is a fee for them to come out as a heads up, about 60.

We called for an estimate because our AC went out in the middle of the Florida summer which is miserable. If it were just my husband and I we could handle a few days however we have a new born at home who has been miserable in this heat. The tech came out today and was extremely stand off-ish. Told us we need a new system didnt really explain anything to me to relay to my husband and they probably couldnt help us for 3 weeks. Which is fine however I was charged $60 for this great advice and I was promised a quote today and still havent received it. Needless to say I called another company who had someone here tonight free of charge sat down with me at the table explained my options and is going to start work on Saturday. To be honest Im kind of glad it didnt work out as judging by my expierence with the initial appointment I have a feeling the replacement process would have been even more of a hassle.

After another company I called and failed to show up, I called Tropic and they arrived within a hour and had my unit up and running in no time at all and at a very fair price! I will be using them now for all my units. Thanks guys!
