My husband and I recently called Five Star. They were able to make it out the same day as the call. Brandon and his dad are very thorough. Honest. Dependable. They will not try to steer you wrong. The community where we live at also trusts in them and uses them for heating and air needs. We had a issue with our a/c duct runs and return. In March 2016 I had an annual tune up and inspection from the company who installed my complete heating and air unit (inside and out). Two weeks later in April the unit stopped working. I called the company to have them come back to inspect the unit. They did and wanted to charge me for the visit. In which I did not pay, it was about 3 weeks since it stopped working. I was told that I needed a new unit a minimum of $5600. This is when I contacted Five Star Heating and Air!! They took the time to inspect my unit inside and out. Brandon is very detailed and advised me with a diagnosis; part, Freon, and preventive care for a very reasonable price!! I would recommend Five Star to EVERYONE!! They care about the quality of work they do not the quantity!! Call Five Star Heating. They DESERVE their name.

I’ve made the mistake of trying other companies including those who installed my unit and the ones offering their services at the big orange store. Five Stars, by far offers reliability, really competitive prices and most importantly, honest service. My AC went out last night, started calling AC repair all over and no one could get to us until this afternoon so the house would really be hot and take a while to cool down. Called 5 Star and they could be here in 20 minutes. They were and fixed the problem fast and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend you call them if you have a Heating or AC problem. The service men were quick and efficient and kept me informed every step of the way. Cant ask for better service!

I would recommend Five Star to everyone in need of a new unit or repairs of an old unit. Chris visited a couple of times in the past few years and we were able to keep my unit going until I was able to afford a new one. When I was ready for the new unit Chris came by to double check everything and got the permits the same day. I had my new unit installed and my house was cool by 2pm that day. Awesome job and great guys!

I had another highly rated company out first. He correctly diagnosed the problem but quoted me a repair of over $1000 and quickly reasoned that it would be wiser to replace my 10 year old unit. So I called around and found 5-Star. Chris gave me honest advice over the phone considering the repair option with me before replacement. He came out that day, and really went out of his way to repair it for me at a fair cost. That was almost two weeks ago and its running fine now, in the heat of summer! Who knows, I might last several more years before replacing it. For me thats well worth it.

Very professional, courteous and friendly. They are real down home people and very easy to work with. They explained what I needed and kept to their estimate. They didnt give me anything that I didnt need.

We called 5-star after we had another company come out 3 times without properly diagnosing the problem. The team was extremely knowledgeable and spent a significant amount of time inspecting every piece of our system and even cleaning things up here and there that they did not feel was perfect. They communicated with us every step of the way so that we understood what was being done and why and gave us a heads up on things that might need to be done in the future. We never felt like they were trying to pressure us or trick us into purchasing unnecessary services (which we have experienced with other companies before). When we have concerns in the future, we will absolutely be calling 5-star. Thanks for all of your help!

After calling around for various quotes and dealing with some poor service with previous providers, we stumbled on 5 star and their raving customer reviews. The came out to check our unit two hours after the call and showed up on a Saturday morning at 7am to replace our system so we didnt have to go all weekend in this Florida heat without air. This was exceptional service and quality work. I will be recommending this company to anyone who asks, we couldnt have been more pleased and impressed with their professionalism and attention to ever detail.

Just happened onto 5 star when I was looking for heat pump/air handler repair. Chris was very upfront about keeping the system running, not ditching it for an entirely new one if it wasnt needed. He checked on what I needed, had it with him when he showed up, and took time and care in installing it, checking it out and making sure everything exceeded what was considered acceptable performance levels.I am moving to Ocala and will need an entire new system there, and am sorry 5 Star doesnt cover that area. I would call on Chris again in a minute....VERY pleased with the service I received.

Before Chris and Brandon came my A/C was having major problems. They came and diagnosed the issue thoroughly and got me a new system in here. I have never had my air blow so hard and so cold that bags were moving. If you need your house cold in the summer. And hot in the winter. These are the two men you should be going to. I had a horrible service call from a different company who came out and told me i had a leak. They didnt even pull my filter. So I asked my friends and they all told me to contact Chris at five star. I did and boy was i happy!! He came out on his off time...completely checked out my system. Found out I did not have a leak like the other company said i did. My coils were just filthy! Chris got me back up and running for a VERY REASONABLE PRICE.i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND FIVE STAR HEATING AND AC TO EVERYONE!! As a matter of fact Ive already referred one friend there. Best HVAC experience! We had a snake crawl into our unit and fry the electrical board. They were able to come out within 2 hours of calling. The owners son arrive and patiently answered all my questions and explained the diagnose process as he went though. He also taught us how to prevent future issues. VERY PROFESSIONAL!!

Back in January 2018 3 1/2 years ago they tryed to rip me off by technician stupidity, Funny thing unit is still working perfectly. Its been a year now since Brandon misdiagnosed stating need for new system, It still works perfectly since I got another opinion. My unit was 5 years and 9 months old when it quit. Buyers beware dont let them ruin your day with their errors.If they tell you your system is old and best to replace.Call someone else you will do better with almost anyone else.I got another opinion and saved 4,000 dollars.Their technician is either a thief or unqualified for leaving valve closed and telling me the unit was shot.

I highly recommend using 5 Star Heating and Air. My ac froze up and when the technician came out he did a wonderful job. He didnt try to upsale me and recommend a new unit even though it is 7 years old. He was very honest and fixed the issues all while explaining to me what those issues were. When we do decide to install a new unit we will be giving them a call because of his thoroughness. Great customer service. Great company.

I called 5 star after having issues with my heat staying on constantly. I called and Brandon was out within an hour (during the MLK holiday weekend mind you). I was expecting to be jerked around - but pleasantly it was a great overall experience.It turns out the company who originally installed the heat pump system didnt properly wire the unit. Brandon explained the issue and quickly rewired the unit and got it functioning. He ran a diagnostics on the system and determined that the condenser coils were in need of serious cleaning. The system pressures were out of spec and so he took a video and showed that the coils had been covered in pet hair from the prior owner (we have only been in the house for a year or so)...we decided to proceed. After hours of work we felt the price was more than fair for the high quality service we received. Our system is now fully functioning and operating efficiently.Its rare to have an unexpected cost arise and not be disappointed, but 5 Star Heating and Air was honest, fair and very reasonably priced. I will use them again for any future repairs or installation of my next HVAC system.

I am really happy with my experience with Mr. Chris Null and his company. He made the process of replacing my heat pump so easy given my circumstances. A little background info: We are a military family currently in Virginia on orders, our Jacksonville home is rented out. We have a property management company that is worthless! Chris made the process so easy and stress free for me. He is honest, I started our conversation by telling him I know my system has a leak and it uses the R22 refrigerant that is going away in 2020. I wanted a quote for a new heat pump. He let me know right away that if I am only concerned about the type of refrigerant that there are other options other than replacing the whole unit and if someone jumps right into the you need to replace the unit then they arent being 100% honest. I wanted a new unit due to the leak and the type of refrigerant. He gave me a quote based on what I described regarding my house, he told me it could change a little after he was able to gain access to the house and put eyes on the existing setup and breaker panel. The hardest part of this whole process was getting my property management company to cooperate and contact Chris to let him access the house. They eventually just gave him my tenants information and he worked directly with my tenant. After viewing my existing unit I wanted replaced, the final price was LESS than he originally quoted. To do the job, he required 1/2 payment upfront and then the equipment would be ordered; final payment was due after job completed. Since, I am out of state and didnt want to delay the installation process by mailing a check, I instead went to a local bank branch in Virginia and asked to deposit directly into his business account. Within a few minutes of me making the deposit and letting him know, I was informed that his son was ordering my equipment to be picked up that afternoon and within the hour he had already pulled the City of Jax required permit and sent me copy. The next day, he completed the install. After the install, he sent me copies of the invoice, registered the unit for the warranty, photos of the inside and outside work completed. This was so smooth and Im happy and my tenant is happy and cool. Chris was great with either calling or texting me every step of the way to keep me informed and best of all he was HONEST! Thank you!

I have called Chris more than once over the past 5 years. No matter how busy he is he seems to make time. I called on a Monday morning at 8 am and he was at my house in less than 2 hours (and its a 45 minute drive.) He diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and had the problem fixed by Wednesday morning. Support small local business and give 5 star a call.
