Please do not rent from this company if you can at all help it. Despite deep cleaning my apartment before moving out, I received less than half of my security deposit back. They charged me $45 for 6 light bulbs... (they must be golden light bulbs, right?) They also charged me ~$260 for 3 hours of cleaning. For context, my apartment was in a very old house in dire need of repair. Prestige Properties clearly just charges tenants for the things they SHOULD be taking care of and are not.

When we moved into our house, it was not cleaned or prepared at all fo my r us to move in. We were literally told by Mike that he had simply forgotten about us moving in. The inside was covered in black mold, no working showers, and there was carpenters tools and paint buckets were scattered around the house. The was a literal 4 inch hole going straight from the basement to the back yard, in the sense I could stand in the basement and see my car parked in the back. Prestige refused to come fix the whole. We were told our gutters would be put on the house the fall we moved in and when we moved out two years later our house still had no gutters on it and flooded regularly. Upon move out I personally walked with one of the managers through the house for the inspection and she led me to believe that it would be minimal, and we would not be charged anything more than our deposit. Now upon receiving our receipt they have placed blatant lies as to the time and activities they had to perform and have charged us $700 OVER our deposit. This is the most incompetent, disgusting, and unprofessional management company I have had an experience it and I hope anyone considering from renting from them runs far far away.

I lived in 310 N Clinton Street Apt 5 (which is absolutely adorable) with one of my best friends for a few years during undergrad. Prestige was constantly receptive to any feedback or concerns that arose for us as tenants. The property was secure and cleaned/maintained regularly. We requested a few amenities (i.e a deadbolt, a newer shower head, a garbage disposal..) and Prestige was quick and helpful in accommodating. Upon move out, the wonderful property manager Nina was willing to do a walk through with me before their final walk through to help us avoid any unnecessary charges on our security deposit. Overall Mike, Nina, Jake, and the whole staff at Prestige have been such a source of reliability within an otherwise hectic college life. Thanks, Prestige!

Prestige was wonderful, the people were always attentive and quick to respond to service calls, questions, etc. After living with Apartments Downtown for 2 years it was very refreshing to have a company that seemed to care for their tenants. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a college apartment in IC.

Better than most but still not great. Old houses that they do the bare minimum to make them livable, then charge high prices for what you get.Pretty quick with maintenance, but only if you email 2 or 3 times. If you call it will not get fixed.Better than Apartments Downtown / Apartments near campus, but thats not saying much.

I strongly recommend this company if you are new to Iowa. They have the fastest maintenance team. Also, they checked their property regularly for seasonal change.

I just moved into my apartment a few days ago and am very happy with how conscientious Prestige Properties has been during my transition. All of my emails were answered quickly. They have been attentive to my concerns and needs. Im impressed by how clean and put together the apartment was when I walked in for the first time with my keys. My experience with them so far has been a nice welcome to Iowa.

I lived in a studio apartment on Clinton Street for two years. Prestige Properties offers good value for the location, though the main trade-off is the house was a little bit aged. Still in a livable shape but need to sweep more often :-) The heating system of the building is quite good, so that helps me passing through some serious freezing time. During my leasing period, Prestige Properties upgraded the refrigerator in my room and washing machine downstairs. On one occasion, my bathroom accidentally locked me out. The situation has been solved in about half-hour after I called the maintenance, which is impressive. Nina also helps me in transferring the security deposit after I left college. Generally speaking, Prestige Properties is a decent choice for renting in IC downtown.

I have lived in a studio in E Jefferson for 4 years. It is very close to school. They always take care of maintenance requests quickly. They also help me with my move-out arrangement. They are the best!

I just moved in to my new apartment managed by Prestige Properties, and it is fantastic! Ive never moved into a rental space that was so spotless and clean. A big hand to the cleaning staff for all their hard work -- the move seemed less stressful when the apartment was so beautiful. These folks are great!

Absolute worst property company in Iowa City that Ive ever dealt with, and that includes Apartments Downtown and the like. They show up regularly without any prior notice. When a spotless and fully functional property was vacated after the lease ended, they still charge you for things that were already clean and not broken so they can make a little extra off of you. Not to mention, if you have any sort of disability, the office workers will belittle you if you ask for any sort of accommodations to be made. Id avoid them if possible.

Prestige properties is very good. People there are very nice, whenever you need help, just let them know, they will be very happy to help you. Im a student and live in an apartment of Prestige Property, the location is good, price is good, and the house inside is good. Im very satisfied of my living here and I will extend my contract. Very pleasant living experience .

I know the owner and his family personally. They are honest people who are always willing to give a helping hand to their friends and employees. The former employee who has been posting negative comments via different account names recently must stop spreading rumors and solve any disputes through legal approach.

It is really good and people work here are all kind and willing to help me while living in their house.

Lived In one of their houses 5 years ago, had no problems with management. Only one problem with the place and they fixed it quickly. If Im ever back in Iowa City i would rent from them again

I enjoyed the management company. They were always responsive and helpful.

When I moved into my apartment, it was a rough start. I had a gas leak, pieces of paint peeling off the wall the size of my head, I couldnt fit my box spring up the narrow staircase, and my fridge clunked out after a week of living there. Prestige went above and beyond fixing it all. I came home the morning after I called to three people repainting my entire place. The gas leak had been fixed and they even assembled my bed that I couldnt get up to my apartment! When the fridge stopped cooling, I came home to people hauling in a brand new one the very next day! Very fast maintenance and always there whey you need them! Truly a luxury when renting in IC!

The apartment is near the downtown which is very convenient, and people work in the Prestige Properties are always helpful.

The apartment is near downtown, Ii is Very quiet and safe, and near the mann school, the toilet And Curtain were changed freely and quickly when they were out of work, they always reponsed efficiently if I called for help

What an absolute sham of a company. Customer service is laughably bad. Mike, the general manager, is a buffoon and deals with customers in the worst possible way. Maintenence is slow and does not do a good job. If I had to do it again, I would absolutely not rent from Prestige. Totally not worth the hassle. It would better serve Iowa City if this company went under and the management was banished from the town. show lessUpdate: so some egg google users write five star reviews right around the time new leases start 🤔. gotta respect the marketing efforts I guess?

Prestige properties name is a misnomer. Their management and properties are anything but. The property I lived in was infested with cockroaches and other bugs that were never delt with, even after repeated inquiries on my behalf. On top of that, the appliances in the unit were barely functional the whole time I live there. They nickel and dimed me for every defincency of the unit though they preceded myself as well. Hindsight is 20/20 but, I warn anyone who will read: DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THESE THEIVES.

I felt abused after renting with them. They essentially stole from me, there was nothing ambiguous about it. I would say avoid this company, theyll hook you with niceties and then screw you in the end.

Decent rentals

I rented the company’s house last year. I felt that it was pretty good in all aspects. The facilities could be repaired in time if the facilities were broken. In the end, the deposit was refunded, and the communication with the landlord was very pleasant. Lived well for a year.
