Maintenance completed work requests pretty quickly. Recently Justin took care of two issues in my apartment and left the area clean after completing them. CJ followed up with me after to make sure everything was done properly. Very satisfied with the staff
I have nothing but a good experience with this community. No break ins, robberies or suspicious activity at all. The leasing office staff or always helpful and willing to see your prospective with any issues you may have. Longest place Ive ever lived in.
I absolutely loooove them. Dejanae is always so sweet and extremely helpful whenever I call. They literally respond to my every need and call. Any time I have a concern, they give constant reassurance and I’m very thankful for them. It’s been a pleasure living here. I’ve been here less than a year and I haven’t had any problems with them at all. Definitely recommend The Villages of Bent Tree as a first time apartment. They are awesome !
This community is very well taken care of, the staff is respectful and listens to you, they are always available and go above and beyond for the residents. Our work orders are done in record time and getting things delivered to the apartments is made easy by them willing to hold items. They have great amenities and the apartment layouts are all very good. Live here!!! Its worth it!
LOVEEEEE Emmara !! She is very accommodating and informative. Makes sure you get exactly what you want. She helped my family get the perfect home! Everyone at the office was friendly and easy to work with. If you are looking for a safe place for your family this is it! Remember to ask for Emmara
I recently moved into the villages of Bent Tree apartments and love my newly renovated two bedroom, upon moving in the staff was very helpful and professional.
I went in to see about an apartment and this lady, Emmara Storey, helped me by calling all her properties and the north west and south sides of Indianapolis. Way above the the call of duty in my book. I give her Five Stars!
If you are looking at these apartments it’s a great move to make . Office staff very professional maintenance always there if you need something fix . I had a great experience with these apartments for it to be my first apartment after moving out of my mothers house all the amenities that I needed . I did have a little trouble with the one of the officers that was on duty but the property manager fixed it quick fast in a hurry ( PS THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW for the ones that have that mindset)
Dejanai she always very helpful and very sweet.I love the apartment and Dejanai is amazing.
My husband and I were greeted very warmly by the leasing staff when we first came to view the apartments. Signing the lease was easy. This complex is close to all shopping and easy to get to the highway. We have been here 2 months and are very happy so far. Maintenance has been responsive and timely. They shoveled and salted walkways during the snowstorm too. My only complaint would be the pavement- the potholes are pretty bad in a lot of areas on that main street in.
Bent Tree is friggin awesome! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The office staff is very nice and professional. The maintenance staff is equally fabulous, if not better! :D The fitness center is amazing! Ive never even heard of a tread wall before! Keep up the great work guys! It really shows how much you love your community! - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
I moved into this complex back in 2015 and only leased for 2 years with them. When it was time for me to move I notified management that I would not be renewing my lease. For all future and current renters **BE WARNED** this complex does not like when the residents leave. after I paid my final months of rent, returned keys, etc. I get a call months later from a collection agency saying I owed Bent Tree thousands of dollars because I damaged their property. I lived there with my 50 year old mother and my dog. The only thing they would have needed to do was the standard items, clean carpets, paint the walls, etc. I never damaged their apartment and I told the collector that. I explained that before I pay anything Ill need photos of said damage and an itemized list of just exactly what Im paying. The collector took all my new information and advised that the property would send the information to me within 30-days so they can resume collections. NEVER heard from the collectors or Bent Tree EVER again.Im currently looking to rent closer to my job and I find out I cant rent because Bent Tree lied and reported my moving out as an eviction and falsified the reasoning stating that I was late with my rent 14 TIMES!!! This property charges a daily fee for everyday that youre late with your rent so I made sure I was ALWAYS on time. There are no court filings of an eviction and no documented proof that I was late. So now I have to get my lawyers involved to clear up these false implications all because Village of Bent Tree is ran by unprofessional, wretched (ratchet) people who are petty and will nickle and dime you for every single penny they can get out of you.I wasnt even surprised that the first google review for this property was a similar story to mine by Allison M. I can back up her claims with my own experience and provide actual proof, unlike Bent Tree who cant provide any proof because theyre an office full of liars. Dont rent from them if you can avoid it, this property is in the semi-hood anyway and theyre always sending around notices about break-ins so its not even wort the money that they charge, you can find similar priced apartments in better neighborhoods with better property managers that wont be petty when you dont renew your lease.
It is not ODD to leave one star based on only reading reviews, like the apartments said to another reviewer down below. When people search for apartments and love everything they see in their research and then come to the reviews and see awful feedback, its disappointing to us. The fact that these residents have to complain about simple things that should be fixed is ridiculous. And they come on HERE because they obviously arent being heard by the office. The frustration is through the roof in these comments and it shows. Shame on you for not taking accountability and caring for residents! Word of mouth is HUGE. learn that
Dejania was very nice she helped us find the right apartment for us. She made sure that our apartment was brand new and it had a fireplace. I would highly recommend these apartments because they actually care about you and not just the money they do whatever best for you. Thank you guys
Big Thanks to Miss Olivia! She was quick to respond to my emails on a Saturday afternoon and arranged a tour for me the very next day - on Sunday! I was impressed. Thanks again!Cassie
Wonderful apartment complex. Olivia made things go by so fast and smoothly. Will definitely be referring her to friends and family who might be apartment hunting. YOU ROCK!!!!!!
I really liked the photos, floor plans and price of rent but the detailed bad reviews have convinced me not to even consider moving here. Sorry but it sounds like new management is needed who put the resident’s needs first and not just collecting rent and fees. I’ll look else where.
Ill try to be very honest about my experiences with this apartment complex but a little bit surprised by how I was treated after I moved out. I hope my review comes through as being factual instead of emotional.I moved into an apartment at this complex about 4 years ago. I just moved out early January 2021. I broke my lease early as well as I wanted to move to another state. When I first moved in the apartment was not as nice as the one that was initially shown. My apartment smelled like cigarettes and really cheap paint. My eyes stung the first day I walked in. All appliances were from the 70s at least. The oven was not plugged in. The bathroom door was broken. A shower bar was hanging loose off the wall on one side. Vents were painted over with dust still on the vents. Extremely gross. I had to put in several service requests right when I moved in. The only new appliances were the washer and dryer. The dryer vent wasnt cleaned so clothes took several cycles to dry. If I wanted the newer appliances I would have to pay more in rent. As I renewed my lease my rent was raised each time. They raised my rent during COVID-19.The area itself is pretty nice. Safe. Although several reviewers stated their cars had been broken into, mine wasnt broken into at all. Not denying that it didnt happen. But I hadnt experienced this. A lot of shops and restaurants are near here too.The leasing company loves fees and has poor communication. Utilities are added on top of your rent. However youll be charged a billing handling fee. Youll be charged a fee just to pay rent online. Youll be charged a fee if you pay with a debit or credit card. When I ended my lease early, I was charged fees for having one mail key (which was all that was given to me), another fee because I put in a notice 58 days in advance instead of 60 days, and for blinds that were broken mainly because the bottom of the blinds were stuck to caulk after the windows were replaced. My deposit also was applied to my relet fee without them saying so. Do your research 100% with this company. Even asking for my final fees in writing were a chore to request. I was literally told we wont nickle and dime you dont worry.Leads to my next point, they gave notice that the windows would need to be replaced. My furniture was moved and not moved back to their original positions. There were boot prints all over the wood floor clearly visible and pieces of white paint or caulk. I have pictures. I called and asked for them to be moved back and for the floor to be cleaned. Only my table was moved and not in the right spot. The rest of my furniture was not moved. There was dust as well all over my sheets and bed when I got home. My floor still had boot marks and white paint chips.I usually had no issues with neighbors. As time went on things got a lot louder. Not talking about yelling in the hallway or slamming doors. I heard dogs barking for 8 hours a day with the unit across the hallway away from me and very loud music at one point. The complex has a good neighbor pledge but it is not enforced. I did end up having to make a complaint. The response was lukewarm and they said theyd contact the tenant. That was it. Noise and music still did not stop.Im not sure about the other buildings. Maybe theyre newer. Maybe theyre a bit cleaner. Id come out and it would smell like urine and garbage in the hallway. Sometimes dirty diapers. The smells didnt come into my apartment. Not screaming luxury to me at all.I wouldnt recommend this complex. There are a ton of other options out there. You shouldnt be charged fees just to pay rent online and with a card. Its 2021. If you do decide to move here, do your due diligence or theyll charge you quite a lot of fees.
This place is great. Ive been here for about a year and a half and just renewed my lease. The apartments are really modern and updated. The location is great. Close to Park 100 if you work in that area. The office staff is great and always helpful. Maintenance is always prompt to address any issues. I would definitely recommend.
The complex is huge but seems quiet and safe. They have a lot of amenities. Ask for Jessica, she has made this dreadful process a lot easier!
I lived here for a little over a year and a half. I moved out about a month ago and had only had a few issues. First apartment flooded due to old pipes. Wasnt the best handled situation by the office, but I eventually got moved to a different apartment. My biggest problem Im having now is that they only gave me a tiny bit of my deposit back. I lived alone and was only home 50% of the time to sleep or just sit around and I wasnt a messy or destructive person. I left the place better than I found it. Being a reasonable person I emailed them about it, just to see if they could at least tell me why they took all the money they did. Its been awhile and Ive still yet to get a response, which really disappoints me, because I really didnt dislike living here. I would have just appreciated a cost list or something to at least explain it to me.
Good afternoon, the tree company did a good job cutting down that scary tree in back of my apartment. Just a FYI. Thank you have a great day 👍🏽
Overall it is a great place to live in. It is pretty quite and laid back. They have pretty nice features that not a lot of other complexes have. Like their dog park, they have very well taken care grounds, the gym is also nice, the gym is kind of small but it has everything you need, it also has an awesome racket ball room. We have a 1000 square foot apartment and it was given to us very fast and it was also very clean. some of the appliances could have been properly fixed before us moving in, and also they forgot to turn on our hot water but i figured how to do that myself. I did call the maintenance men to come and fix my appliances and they were very quick with the response time, just make sure to tell them to call before coming to your place or even schedule a time because they will come unannounced. We are happy living here and if we need to renew our lease then we would again.
Staff is friendly, maintenance is very responsive and efficient, security on the area is great, and the neighborhood is quiet. Love it
Ive lived here for 3 years and every year has been great. I love the closet space in the master bedroom and the size of my apartment. They are very quick to respond to issues and the office staff is always so nice and friendly. The down side is parking. Parking is very limited. I feel safe at the Villages.
I have been here for about 6 months or so and have to say, the staff have been amazing, and super nice, Veronica was super easy to talk with and set up showings and ultimately picking an awesome apt.The maintenance staff is on point! Richie was super cool and easy to work with.Dog park is awesome to have and have had zero issues or worries with my area or neighbors. I will be renewing my lease for sure when it’s up.
BED BUGS!!!.....we were in two units and both got bed bugs...took 5 months to fix! One of maintenance guys moved out because he was tired ofbed bug situation. This place is horrible dont be tricked by the amenities. They dont care about tenants.
Love my apartment! The staff is nice and the location is perfect. I would recommend to my friends, family, etc.
Great location, walk-able to different stores. Great place for dog people!! Cool pool on hot days, awesome clubhouse/gym/racket ball court. The office staff always remember my name (but more importantly, my dogs names!) which is welcoming.Jenny and Deja are my favorites! Jenny was my leasing agent and she was great through the entire process. She was professional, but easy to relate to and personable! She was honest about some things I was concerned about, which is hard to find when you most agents would tell you whatever to get you to sign the lease. If you decide to rent, they are who I would recommend you talk to!TL;DR - 8/10. Would rent again.
I really enjoy living here! I will renewing my lease in April. My apartment is pretty nice, our fridge and stove are older but you can always pay for a newer upgrade. We moved in and it was in good condition. Any work orders I had, they come out as soon as possible and do a good job. There is one maintenance man that always comes out for us and he is so nice and does a very nice job!The office and amenities are nice. The pool is a great place to hang out at during the summer. The lakes are beautiful and the property is very well taken care of.I would definitely recommend living here! :)
The apartments here are not very nice for the price. The model shown to me for a 2 bedroom was nothing close to the apartment I ended up moving into. There were no ceiling fans, outdated appliances that aren’t always very functional, and the washing machine doesn’t work half of the time. Maintenance will come into our apartment to fix something even when no one is home, which doesn’t feel secure at all. Also, don’t get behind of your electric bill! Unfortunately this happened to me and the apartment added an extra $400 to our bill each month to keep our lights on, so it was hard to cover extremely high rent and an overdue bill. Not to mention the hallways are constantly filthy. There are better places to live for a better value than this place. You are paying more for location than quality.
I am a current resident at Bent Tree, I am pleased with my overall experience. The staff has been nice an easy to talk with. I havent had any problems that required me to need things fixed. The plow company that came out did a horrible job removing the snow from the parking lot. I was stuck in a parking spot and had to get to work, not being apart of his job description one of the maintenance workers Tyree came to my apartment an helped push my truck out of the spot. Above an beyond his duties just willing to help. As a single woman I was very appreciative he took the time. Bent Tree should make sure to appreciate their employees that are willing to go above an beyond because its a good look for what can be expected from current an future tenants.
I lived here for 15 months just moved out in Feb. Within the first 3 months I made 28 calls to maintenance. The amount I signed to pay in rent was 869 but several months my rent was over $1000 with the water. $980 for other months. I love Veronica she is a doll but there were so many issues with my unit. Once they had to knock an entire wall down and it wasnt fixed for several days. I was put in a unit in the back it was very outdated and the parking was always overcrowded and there were no spaces. The unit had ants, a bad case. Watch out if your light bill goes into disconnect and you don’t pay by the due date the light company charges fees plus the deposit to put them back in your name, plus the apartments charge $75 along with the same bill IPL charges. When it rains, you’ll lose power for sure. I can write a book about how petty the office staff is. Nice area but be careful I did not renew my lease due to the fees increasing for my unit. Beware once your lease is up the rate goes up.
So far so good! A great place to live. Ive lived here since August. Theyve already replaced all of the windows and the large sliding glass door for the balcony. Its an older building so it has work to be done, but at least theyre working on it. I would expect some more improvements like the carpet being removed and cabinets being replaced. But I knew what to expect when I signed the lease. Office staff is great, gym is great, cant complain. Just dont be a dummy and pay your rent when its due and there will be no problems! Cheers
Overall it’s a nice place to stay for the price. You can find nicer amenities and better attention to detail in other apartments, but that will cost you a lot more. The staff is the reason I chose the location in the end. Very polite and helpful through the entire process. 3.5/5 Overall, rounded up because google sucks.
Ive lived in this community for 3yrs. The staff are helpful and friendly. The grounds are well kept. Any and all problems that you may have is attended to quickly and professionally. Besides the great staff, this location cant be beat. You are minutes (less than a mile) to fast food, restaurants, shopping and car repair. If youre looking for a place to live, please consider The Villages of Bent Tree.
Lived here for 3-4 years. Good deal for the price and location, but they are older apartments so keep that in mind. Neighborhood is fairly quiet and havent had any issues with crime, but have seen notices about break ins and such. Maintenance is fairly on the ball, though most fixes are just patches so dont be surprised if you eventually need to make another call. Office staff is nice also, and usually speedy in helping you retrieve packages. All in all just about what you expect from an apartment home.
Worst experience I have ever had. Got an email saying my final balance was unpaid and about to be sent to collections, however, I called three month after moving out to verify I didnt owe them anything else. Also, I have never received a notice until this email saying it would be sent to collections. The people at this place can go screw themselves.
This is an adequate place to live. Amenities are nice and abundant, although I think the rent may be a little high for the neighborhood. I’ve lived here for 4 years and in that time I’ve had some poor neighbors. Although once I’ve reported them to management they have addressed the situations. Overall I would recommend the complex.
I moved in a few months ago. I have had several issues but overall I love my apartment and I love the community.I believe the issue is training. Proper information is not being given. The staff is GREAT!! But training needs to be improved.I addressed this issue with a staff member, not sure if something will be done; but something NEEDS to be done. This is a GREAT community, great complex and a peaceful place to live, dont let it fall by the wayside. :)
Lol. The manager herself is a joke. The apartment complex is a joke. Staff’s nice. But that’s about it. I’ve lived here 3 years. 2 separate units. Look nicer on the outside than what you get when you move in. I’ve lived in my current unit a year and a half and had to make countless maintenance requests. My apartment was NOT ready when I moved in. There was a stream across my bathroom floor during move-in day. I walked through and named 10 things off the bat that needed fixing. it was like they didn’t even do a check to make sure my apartment was ready. The parking is a nightmare on the townhome side. More garages than parking spots. Causing people to park sporadically through the parking lots. I know so many residents that are upset about this also. And they have no qualms towing you. -I don’t recommend moving here. Pay slightly more for a better place. Or just not THIS PLACE. can’t wait to move.Oh, and there was a leak from my upstairs neighbors. And while they came quickly to find out the issue, they did not come to fix the drywall on the ceiling yet. So I have a drooping slit in my ceiling going 3 months strong. Shout out to The Villages at Bent tree✌🏽
I like that its a quiet neighborhood and close to everything you could need, including interstates, shopping, and restaurants. Maintenance is usually quick to fix problems. I dont like, however, the lack of parking spaces. If youre not home by 9pm, good luck finding a spot near your apartment. I think they should tear down some of the vacant garages and make more parking, or make garages more affordable.
I have lived here since 5/2017 and I love it so far! I have read bad reviews but I have nothing but good things to say! Staff has been great to me!They stay on top of repairs. The community is clean. I now know almost all of my neighbors and all are very friendly! The amenities are great as well!Would highly recommend living here!
Lived here four years. Area is convenient and safe. The office has always taken care of all of our maintenance needs. Friendly staff as well. Arridzone group has recently made investments into the property such as brand new heating and cooling units for all of its units. It has really helped our electric bill.
Great location and service from maintenance crew. Have currently updated some things in the apartment and makes it look a lot better. Just wish they would fix the entry way into the complex, since it is filled with potholes
I have lived here since January and I’ve had no issues. The staff is very nice and when I need maintenance they come quite quickly. The only 2 issues that I have is lack parking late at night and the hallway to the building, if it gets dirty for any reason, there is a long time before it gets clean. These are not big deals to me, but if I had an issue that would be it.
As any places there will be issues but the staff does what they can to get them fixed as quickly as possible. They work with you on many of the issues. They hold events for the community which are a blast. I have lived here the past three years and havent had an issue that couldnt be addressed and fixed.
My roommate and I had a great experience while living here. We both graduate in May and are leaving Indianapolis or we definitely would have stayed at Bent Tree. The office staff were always friendly and helpful. Maintenance requests were completed quickly and quietly. Definitely would recommend this place.
Lived here for two years. Staff was not helpful, heat was constantly going out, made multiple complaints about cars being broken into and drugs being sold. Nothing was done. After we moved out they did not contact us for SIX MONTHS. No emails, phone calls, no attempt to contact whatsoever. Then they sent our information and the information of my family members to a collections agency and claimed we had an unpaid bill. Do not do business with these people.
If you love mold and an office/ maintenance staff that does absolutely nothing this is the place for you. Our a.c. leaked when it ran and they refused to replace it. The air grate started to fall the last week we were there otherwise so we didnt even know what it looked like otherwise I would have called the health department. They also force renovations on you and their construction crew will break things in your home that youll be charged for when you go to move out. Do not live here.
I havent even lived here a month and Im already having trouble. On Sunday, my washer gets flooded. I make a call to report this and was told it would be fixed on Monday. Today is Friday, and still nothing. A week is passed and still nothing is fixed and Im sitting in an apartment with dirty mold-infested water occupying the same residence where I sleep, eat, and breathe. Its awful I have to apologize to guests about the smell and explain that its because of the staff thinking its acceptable for a tenant to endure such terrible conditions and service. The smell is so gruesome that this water makes rotten eggs smell like a Glades plug in. I had a friend over for dinner and 20 minutes after he comes in the door and starts eating he runs into the bathroom vomiting because the smell of the moldy water sunk into the food. I have been having carry outs since then. Currently, its not safe for anyone to eat in my apartment. This is a definite health risk which I addressed to the board of health. If you care about your well being... dont live here.
We have lived here since 2010 and we love it. The staff is amazing and personable. It is close to everything you need and a very good neighborhood.
Lived here for a year, tiny apartment was way overpriced, nothing worked, insects everywhere, our air conditioner, was literally creating mold in the utility closet, they then attempted to rip us off by showing us a much smaller more expensive 2 bedroom apartment over the, much bigger and less expensive one we asked to see, Theres pan handlers that constantly walk through the neighborhood and beg for money, and the nail in the coffin after we moved, we received a letter from a debt collector, rather than just sending us the bill initially when we clearly gave them a forwarding address. Believe every negative review about this place, and dont waste your time and money here.
Terrible office staff. Not worth the hassle. Had countless problems ranging from safety concerns to large maintenance issues. It was always a fight to get them to do anything about it. You always feel like you’re an inconvenience to them. The quality of the apartment was definitely not worth the rent they are charging. The best day I had there was the day my lease was up.
I have lived here more than two years and love the privacy for my dogs. Low quality appliances are made up by the friendly staff. They show their concern with issues and are willing to fix/replace anything they can. I would recommend this place for singles and couples, maybe not a great location for families with kids. The location is convenient for grocery shopping, BMV and storage units across the street. Overall, I am very happy with The Villages Of Bent Tree!
I lived at Bent Tree for a little over two years and did not have many problems at all. I felt that you get what you pay for. The one bedroom and den with a fireplace was a good deal for what I wanted to pay. I felt that the maintenance staff was awesome! I made several calls to maintenance for small things and they usually came that day or the next. While there was reports of a few vehicle break ins, nothing happened to my car or my husbands car, and we were there for two years. I felt perfectly safe in the apartment--even though heading toward downtown on Michigan Rd gets a little sketchy. I thought Brandon at office was always very helpful and friendly. I did like the tennis courts, I liked the fact that they allowed large dogs. They do have a large pool, but I did not use it, so cannot attest for that. The only complaints that I really had were the parking situation. It was really difficult to find a parking spot close to my apartment or when I had friends over. I would also say that I wished that the snow maintenance was better. It was really difficult for my car to back out when they plow right behind the cars. If I would have to choose to live there or not again, I would choose to do so. We moved as we bought a house, not because we had any qualms with Bent Tree. It was also a nice surprise when we received some of our deposit back two weeks after moving out!
The only reason Im even giving Bent tree any stars at all is because the roof didnt fall in. Everything bad that you can think of in renting with a place happened! Dont let the nice smiling faces and first glance fool you. The apartment looked amazing when we first moved of course, but we shouldve known there was a problem when we went to the main office and there were already angry tenants in there. Bad choice. They hit you with all kinds of hidden fees. Ive had nothing but problems with this place since Ive moved and Im only staying until the lease is out. And ohh DONT DO THE EXTENDED LEASE!!! Its a trap! Youll wanna get out of here ASAP when you find out what theyre really about. They act like they care about you but when your air doesnt work in the summer emergency maintenance will tell you that its a luxury to have working air like they told me and that after a certain period of time the sun goes down which makes it cooler inside so after that time he doesnt get paid for calls like this so Id have to live with it. Moral of this story just dont rent at bent tree. 7/27/15
I’ve move here February 2015, It wasn’t a good choice, firstly I didn’t get the unit that I was shown I received one of their old units that haven’t been updated probably since the 80’s everything in here is old and worn out need to be replaced.. and the maintenance SUCKS here as well..I am ready to move hopefully in 2018 I’ll be out of here I haven’t been happy since I moved into this unit I feel like I am living in a dark Damp cave.. but the Office staff are nice!!
I lived here for over a year and have nothing but GOOD things to say. The staff have always been responsive and professional. Deja, Brenda and Lionel are wonderful to work with!! I would recommend this community to others. Having had renters in my home, i have a very deep appreciation for the work this crew does and what they have to put up with from people who do not respect the property.
I have been her 3 years I love that it is close to a lot of places. The staff in the apartment is pretty helpful and nice. The apartment I’m in is outdated with chipping paint on the walls and ceiling and in order to get an up to date apartment and appliances you have to pay extra fees. There are also hidden fees when you get your bill. Your bill will be much higher than what you are quoted for monthly rent. Also every year your rent will go up too. The walls are pretty thin in these apartments you will be able to hear your neighbors and smell their cooking too.
I have only lived here for a couple weeks, but it seems pretty nice, and the staff have been accommodating so far. The apartment is good, and comparable to the model I was shown.I have put in 3 service requests for minor things, and they were attended to promptly.
Way Overpriced for what you get! you wont get your deposit back in full, I was charged $70 for last month water bill (normally it is less than $20), They will lie to you all the way until you sign the lease. The apartment I leased was supposed to be all electric, but it wasnt.Frequent car thefts.Maintenance: I was without water for 2 days. AC was fixed promptly.
Feb 2020 Roaches. Contacted office staff about treatment but no one came out. Based off of previous response times to issues our lease will likely be up before any real action is taken. Also, mail is often delivered wrong and I’ve found the mail box wide open before.July 3, 2020 we receive notice that we would have to rearrange our entire unit to accommodate window replacement and toilet replacement in the same day, over a holiday weekend. On top of that the office was closed for the holiday and we could not reach them to discuss the situation. We had to come back early from our weekend plans to reorganize our entire apartment. Had we been on vacation when the paper notice was taped to our door, we would have been slapped with $150 fines.July 12, 2020 Came home from time with my in-laws to find one of our potted plants smashed on the floor. We have no pets so my assumption is maintenance came to work on something unannounced and some how broke our plant. I’ve posted a picture as well.July 28, 2020 Contractors used external caulk indoors again. Entire foyer is filled with really strong fumes. No notice was given.
All in all, not a bad lower costing apartment. Get a balcony facing the woods and you will be set. Maintenance always comes right away, and the staff is really friendly and not afraid to get to know you. No problems parking, getting mail, or having a pool day. Not the nicest place, but for what you pay for -- I mean really not bad. Shouts VOBT!
Have been living here since September of 2017 just a couple of months, staff are very friendly and maintenance normally come quick. Haven’t had any problems with anything but my heater hasn’t been working properly the apartment is very cold and supposedly they came and took care of the problem seems like they didn’t do anything to it. Also another thing i noticed are the hidden fees, rent went up a big amount.
While the apartment itself is pretty nice, the staff is inexcusably incompetent. Before I had even moved in, they lost my paperwork three times, and tried to cancel my lease. They also asked me to provide false personal information to make my income lower than it actually is, and pay them an escalated deposit. After much effort, I managed to have this fixed, only for them to try and charge me the extra deposit money a 2nd time only 3 days after I had moved in.If the complex had a staff that understood their jobs more, this place could be great. But currently, I am still recovering from the stress that the staff has given me after a couple of weeks.
Truly enjoyed living here for 4 yrs. the maintenance was always great and timely. The property is well kept and constantly improving. The reason its not 5 stars is the move out. They will get over on you if you dont stay on top of them and keep good records. Dont get me wrong they are very polite and helpful but Ive seen them screw ppl over when they moved out. Overall its a great property but upon moving out make sure your on top of things. Honestly i would still move back in, cant beat the location.
Where do i start? They dont fix things In a timely manner and if they do attempt to fix them they are half-ass fixes they dont actually come and fix things unless you go into the office and threatened to leave then God forbid something happened and your late on rent once they file eviction paperwork when you called to work with them or find out whats going on no communication and the office no one knows what the other is doing the apartments are nice but there are so many repairs that need to be done they also like to pretend they havent spoken to you about something oh and if you get really lucky youll get a really cocky maintenance supervisor who will cancel your service request and then they bill you for the damage that it causes since they never came and fixed it so if you want to live in a place that sucks your money then come here
Best apartment community ever!!! The office staff is friendly and maintenance is on point!!!
Horrible place to live. My fiance fell twice over winter because they lacked on salting the front of the apartment. Hes lived there for 4 years and has never missued a payment . We recently bought a house and on the last month when rent was due, I took it up there a day late and they refused the check and wanted $50 for the late fee. Wouldnt compromise or anything. The lady kept rolling her eyes and just being extremely rude. The turn over rate for the office is on a monthly basis. There are always police in there. Last summer a man was walking his dog and got robbed, then shot to death. Unsafe, unfriendly. Save yourself the time and look some where else! Your welcome in advance!
The management failed to cash my check and I got to pay for it with time and energy. They refused to process the perfectly good check they had. They wouldnt take a new check because they wanted to make sure I was good for it. They credited my account $1 to pay for a money order. I recently moved from another state so my bank isnt here so I had to go to an ATM, then a place to get a money order, and then go back to their office. They just want their money and dont care about the customer. No where once did they own up to their mistake.
How it feels to really live in Bent Tree ApartmentsPlease dont ask for any utilities to be replaced! My oven caught on fire last week I had to call the Fire Department and they are refusing to replace it! They also increase your rent on a monthly basis due to the price of water/gas/sewage. So, one month you may pay as little as $20 for those utilities in addition to rent then, the next three its almost $100.00 extra. This past winter, my furnace stopped working so, I had to spend an entire month w/out heat! I am currently pursuing a lawsuit against Bent Tree and will moving as soon as my lease is up!!

Although maintenance comes fast... Ive been having a MAJOR ant issue! They came and sprayed but theyre here more than ever!i come home to about 30 ants in my bath tub EVERY DAY!
Im a satisfied resident of Bent Tree. Safe, quiet community w/ reasonable pricing. Staff is friendly and the one time I needed maintenance, they were there within 24 hours. Good location...lots of stores, restaurants and 465 near by.
I really enjoy my stay at Villages of Bent Tree. The staffs are friendly. They take care of repairs quickly.Very clean and safe environment.
The staff never answers any calls, it took over a month to receive a key that was already paid for on spot, and theres paint all over the bathroom floor with prints of the rugs left from the people befor the thermostat hasnt been working over two weeks we have it at 90 and it stays at 60 degrees and they never come to repair it. This isnt worth the money they ask for!!!
Moved in 11/2014- THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE HAD WITH AN APARTMENT COMPLEX EVER! THE FIRST APARTMENT I SIGNED A LEASE FOR WASNT EVEN UP TO MY STANDARDS ON MOVE IN DAY. THERE WAS PAINT OVER-SPRAY COVERING THE CABINETS, FIXTURES AND SINKS. THERE WERE LOOSE PIECES OF WOOD UNDER THE CARPET, THE COUNTERTOPS WERE PAINTED WITH A FLAT WHITE PAINT. I LET THEM KNOW I WAS DISSATISFIED AND I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT ANOTHER VACANT UNIT IN WHICH THE RENT WAS $100 MORE. AND MAINTENANCE IS SO SLOW, IT TAKES 4-7 DAYS TO COMPLETE A WORK ORDER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I PLACED A WORK ORDER 4 DAYS FOR AN INOPERABLE DRYER... NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I CALLED THE LEASING OFFICE AND WAS TOLD MAINTENANCE WILL GET TO IT WHEN THEY GET TO IT WTF?!? MY TUB DIDNT DRAIN FROM DAY ONE... THEYVE MADE 3 ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE DRAIN WITH NO RESOLVE. I HAD TO HIRE A PLUMBER AND PAY $131 TO UNCLOG MY BATH TUB. ITS LIKE ONCE YOU SIGN THAT LEASE AND PAY A DEPOSIT, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE GOES OUT THE WINDOW. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE APARTMENTS TO ANYONE... STAY CLEAR!
I cannot communicate clearly enough how negative an experience I had living at this apartment complex. Where do I start? The apartment was not clean when I moved in, and I had to push the office task repeatedly to have someone finish the cleaning job. The paint job was sloppy and you can see that it had sprayed on the inside of the closet doors and the windows. The windows failed to trap heat or cool air, so the money that you pay for heating in the winter or AC in the summer literally goes out the window. Your AC Bill and your heating bills will be unbelievably high. my fridge broke down multiple times, even though they claimed that it was working properly. When I asked if they would reimburse me for my spoiled groceries because it had failed for the fourth time I was told probably not.Not only are the office staff unhelpful and rude, they are also painfully unorganized. I saved my banking information with the office so that I could be billed for my rent. My next rent I was billed a late fee because they lost my paperwork.. this happened again later on in the year but they didnt tell me until late charges had accumulated to over $500 which is vastly above what I should be paying monthly in rent. When I called the office to talk through the issue and find out why I was not contacted when they lost my information, I was told that it is not their responsibility to reach out to me and communicate that they had lost my information. The manager of the facility then accused me of being too poor to pay the rent and that I had purposefully submitted inaccurate information from my bank, which was untrue. They added fees for literally everything. Upper management at this complex has an attitude and is not willing to work with you for any sort of help. My first month I submitted 16 maintenance reports because I did not have working AC in June. It took weeks to fix. Maintenance crews dont communicate with each other and show up at any time during the day. We had people showing up when problems have been fixed, and we had people showing up months after we had submitted reports. The office staff are unprofessional and unwilling to make a personal connection with their residence. The lighting in this complex is sparse and unsafe. Constantly people are coming and going. My car as well as the cars of my roommates were all broken into more than once. Someone even crawled underneath my car and cut out my catalytic converter. When I brought this problem to management, all they said was that they werent going to do anything and it is my problem. The buildings are old, do not be fooled by the fresh coat of orange paint. Residents living here do not care about their messes and they leave trash out on their lawns and in the middle of the street. I saw a drug deal at least once every 3 days.Parking is very slim, especially on the weekends. Most of the spots were taken by cars idling while people were smoking pot inside of them.Upon leaving the complex, I was given a list of charges dating back three months of water sewer and pest control that had not been added to my months rent. I cannot understand why it was not added to the rent on the previous months. My balance with the complex had been at zero reliably for months. Instead Im faced with an additional $200 bill because they failed to add these charges to the months previous and kept them hidden from me.Take your money to a different apartment complex. There are better options in this area where you can get much more for your money and much better customer service. Bent tree is about bringing people in, taking their money, and doing nothing for them.
Nice place to live and the staff are really nice. Most of all the location is awesome as everything is nearby and within walking distance.
Ive been living in BentTree for 8years, its location is with in minutes of every thing . The people in the office are so nice
The apartment size isnt bad at all, however the apartment are not well insulated, you can hear thhe people above you talking if they have deep voices. They dont actually repair things they just bandage them.So you end up calling about the same thing more than once. If you request an appointment for maintenance it doesnt mean you have any sort of priority which makes making the appointment mute. Why make an appointment and they come whenever, if ever.I stay because I am a full time student and I do not want thhe added headache of moving while trying to finish my degree. Once I am done all bets are off.
I would likely not recommend this place. I have lived here about 9 months and will not be renewing our lease. The apartments are outdated for the price you pay. Updated units are available if youre willing to pay. Keep in mind that the rent price quoted is not what you will actually pay - there are fees added to your monthly rent, along with water/sewer/sanitation which fluctuates also. The hallway in the building is never cleaned, people are always throwing their unwanted mail on the floor (as if they cant throw it away in their own trash can). Ive submitted two requests to adress mold issues in the apartment. The maintenance man just left a spray can of KILZ in the bathroom because he couldnt see mold even though I included pictures of the mold in my maintenance request submitted online. Our outdated appliances do work but Ive read a number of reviews where people have complained that they stop working, then arent replaced in a timely manner or at all. As we approach the winter months, our hot water heater began to only run hot water for about 10-15 minutes or so (mind you it never did this until the winter weather approached). Maintenance at first replaced element. While I am unsure of what all that entailed, the issue still remains. I submitted a second request and the office staff called to advise that they could go back and run the water for 10 minutes but the only result would likely be an increased water bill as they probably still wouldnt replace the water heater. Apartments are very drafty in the winter months as the windows and sliding glass door are outdated, so you will likely need to turn your heat up increasing your electric bill unless you want to wear your winter coat around your apartment all day. Most of the office staff is very nice but Im not a fan of the maintenance staff. I was uneasy after the maintenance man attempted to come fix something (cant remember exactly as you will submit them so often). I opened the door before he came in and asked if he could come back later as I just hopped out of the shower (I did have my robe on completely covered up). He looked annoyed that I asked him to come back and just said ok. He didnt return until 2 days later to fix that issue. Outside grounds are decent but could be cleaned more frequently. There is often trash on the grounds that people leave behind and is not cleaned regularly.
Dont live here unless you have an uneventful and peaceful day to day life. Laughable security. Ten thousand renter agreements that are more like restrictions. Not to mention little to no sympathy from managing staff.
Been here a few days still waiting on maintenance to fix things that need to be fixed. Sort of weird that my washer isn’t working right and there are other things that need to be fixed. I don’t think this apartment was inspected thoroughly enough before I moved in. Also I am now getting a low battery on my air unit so that’s not good.. hopefully these things get fixed by tomorrow or over the weekend. Wouldn’t have no complaints really if I at least got some sort of ETA of when my apartment would be inspected and at least patched up.
Please stop with the admin fees. The fact that it cost me .64 cents for my sewage usage, but am being charged $4.00 for an admin fee is ridiculous. But wait, it doesnt stop there. Water consumption .76 cents, but being charged another $4.00 admin fee. Trash fee $10.00, admin fee: $4.00.This is my second month, and I will be moving out as soon as the lease is up! When asked how much rent was, they give you a number. But what they exclude are all these extra fees you wont notice till after you sign the lease. OH, also when we moved in, the apartment was disgusting. Our washer/dryer had hair, dirt, and whatever else you can imagine left inside, for who else to clean other than the tenant. We had a list of things that needed to be fixed. ie: different colored paint droppings throughout, plug outlets not working, water heater is extremely loud, fridge missing shelves, (blah blah blah the list could go on). Just dont stumble upon this wonderful apartment (#SaidNoOneEver) complex without 100% full knowledge of how much your rent will be, and what fees will you encounter.
I love the Bent Tree! I am love the apartments and the staff is amazing, thank for all you do!
Staff is awesome and apartments are spacious
I just most recently moved from Bent Tree Apartments. At first it seemed like a nice neighborhood, it seemed quiet, it seemed as if the property management has everything together... 😒😒 Or so it seemed... My fiance, son and I moved in at 3119 Chadwood Lane N Dr. Apt 3D and within 2 months we dreaded or decision. The stove wasnt working, there was a leak in the kitchen and the rail on the balcony was missing the top nail support which couldve potentially killed someone, deeming that we were 3 levels up. Thats a long fall!! These were 3 of the many issues we experienced in the first month that were never fixed until the end of our lease. From the smell of marijuana every time I walked into the building; to a neighbor choosing to sing on this home based karaoke until wee hours of the night; someone breaking into your car; to someone literally checking your apartment doors to see if you forgot to lock the door behind yourself. No individual should ever have too feel this way at home. Bent Tree management did a piss poor job in a nice neighborhood. I wouldve stayed, if we received better service, however, it wasnt worth it. I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. Thank God that lease ended. We gladly removed ourselves and all of our belongings from their property. If you want cheap and you dont care, go to Bent Tree... But if youd rather not waste your time, your money... Go somewhere else!! Save your sanity!!! Save yourself!!!To name a few other most recent incidents:#1 WE HAD ANTS... EVERYWHERE!! Indeed, we complained, they came out and sprayed.. Once!!#2 One day we were vacuuming and the carpet just came up... What kind of cheap carpet is this??? They came out and just replaced it with some cheap laminate flooring...#3 My fiance complained about the overload smell of marijuana in the apartment... They sent a letter out... But they said they knew where it was coming from... A letter didnt change anything... Maybe for a few weeks#4 About 3 weeks after my fiance and I moved in someone tried to break in our apartment, thank God for that top latch.. Although it barely hung up there.. Managed to spare me some time to get a little more reinforcement..#5 A Saturday afternoon.. Maintenance had to come out and fix another carpet issue that we had... Im relaxing, watching some ESPN, and enjoying a beer... The maintenance guy jokingly asks for a beer.. I state if you werent on the clock Id offer it... His response will blow your mind... At Bent Tree no one is really, technically, on the clock.. Wow!!!!Dont waste your time ppl!!! Go to the others around the corner
Constantly hard to contact via phone or office. Office staff members will give you different answers to questions based on person or day.Maintenance was called out multiple times for a backed up dishwasher leaking al over floor/carpet. Continued to smell of raw sewage, and push up waste water during cycle.
Staff are friendly but my experience living here have not been that good for the amount of money you paid.Maintenance: They are not fast enough they will let you waiting for 2 days to fix your AC.Security: This place is not safe for car you will experience Frequent car thefts. The apt dont have new rugs their dirty and they will not chage it, the bathroom tiles and caunter are painted. You will experience a lot of spiders.Activity area and gym are not the best also.It so sad since the Staff are really nice and try to be helpful.
Best part about this apartment was really the location for the price and Daisha was nice; but except for that everything else sucked.Appliances would break down often. Half of our stove and disposal didnt work past week 3, our screen door to the balcony would pop out on the regular, the air heater would sound like the dryer all the time.Apartment staff would walk into our apartment most of the time with a notice but sometimes without leting us know at all, till after which is not okay. Some of the staff are argumentative and do not work with your schedule. They will tell you to stay home from work for a day and not even come to your apartment that day making you miss multiple days at work. They have hidden fees like pest for one which is a fee for doing literall nothing since there were 2 cockroaches in my apartment when I was gone for a week and a half. Also the electricity bill didnt seem to go below 70 towards the end, even though I stayed for about a week per month for the last 3 month.Roads never get repaired, parking in a garage is a waste of money for the space. Parking spots are open to everyone so expect to park in the back if you work late. They also dont take care of their lawn at all so expect your backyard to look like a swamp. Also no matter what they say about personalizing the apartment they will charge you for EVERYTHING including light smoke marks from the fireplace and even damages that were already there, so take pics and be careful.I have yet to meet someone from these apartment who got their deposit back and didnt get charged more for it lol. I ended my lease early and paid the fee.
Very pleased with Bent Tree apartments, maintenance & office staff are great!
Its a little shady that my account that Ive always paid rent with suddenly wont go through and they thought to tell me by putting notes on my door after Id informed them I was moving out of state. I only received a call on the 11th when they would start legal proceedings. Oh and echecks arent suppose to have fees, but this place will find a way to fee for everything. Fees on top of the eviction threats for having people over and my dog barking (when she was at dog daycare where I worked), the leasing staff will try to impede on your privacy. The apartment was nicish but not worth this stress. They even spray painted the stove drip pans so when I went to clean up after dinner the first night it revealed old, burnt drip pans. Pretty much a metaphor for this place, shiny at first and ugly when you get a closer look. I had 3 people look at my apartment because they wanted to move in and warned them off after the first threat in the first month.
I HATE IT HERE! I am a current resident but cant wait to move out! When we moved here we were never told that they will charge every fee they could find plus renters insurance! I was suppossed to pay here $735 and with fees and all i end up paying $830! Thats INSANE! Almost $100 more! Plus apartments are outdated stoves are old and dont work ! There are NEVER parkings! People in my building are always Smoking marijuana and i can smell it all over my apt! I have a baby and thats unhealthy! And dont get me started on THE RODENTS! There are rats here we already trapped 4! And u can hear them within the walls scratching or walking. They come thru the laundry room! My house is never dirty and i keep catching mice! Carpets are a mess they are old and have no cushion anymore! You can see the fold lines from all the wear thinning and they refuse to change it! And yes there are always insects in the window and spiders everywhere! Soo leaves me wondering where does the pest control fee go??? There was a time that they charged me $50 because apparently I wasnt paying my light and supposedly they were paying it for me on top of all the fees plus rent plus renters insurance plus the ipl bill which i was not paying! i asked for my money back when everything got cleared up and they refused! OMG and dont get me started on the break ins and robberies! My husband has a work van and they broke in and stold damn near everything! We had to put a $300 alarm on the van! Neighbors are always screaming and banging on walls and floors.. you can hear EVERYTHING! Also our dishwasher flooded my kitchen and they ever fixed it so my husband had to. They replace the vent pads every year when youre supposed to replace it every 6 months or less. Mail is always all over the place in the hallway it looks dirty. Omg dont get me started on the dog owners! They take their dogs to do their thing and they dont pick it up they just leave it their i complained about that bcuz there was this dog that always used to poop infront if my porch and during the summer it smell really bad! Nothing was done about it! Plus neighbors from the third floor threw stuff down and it looks like a trash can down here.
I haven’t had a problem since I’ve been here. I moved in and they have been super helpful with everything, love this complex!
Husband went inside to apply for apartment. And right away I noticed staff was snobby and not polite. And some old tenants where in the office complaining about their deposits. And they told me this place is a scam with a bunch hidden fees.So I went and walked to my husband and said forget about paying for application here.Well they already process it and they came back saying that his social security has a block and cant run, it. So then we asked for the money back they refused. So I ask to speak to manager and she was useless. She said the same .they process it and couldnt go through. They just a scam us, for application fees.if they where professional they would say we having some issues let us try running it later on this week or call headquarters. Or give money back.Because I went apply to some other apartment community and they had no problem.
I have lived in apartments for over 12 years....and this is the first one I can honestly say I would NEVER recommend to my worst enemy.During the winter months, snow removal is non-existent.Maintenance will not even throw salt down on the ice.I was on a limited budget and I just wanted a basic apartment. No woods view, no lake view, no fireplace. Just a bare bones apartment. After signing the lease, the leasing agent took us to the apartment and he was surprised to find it had a fireplace, which I believe was an extra $25/month. I didnt want a fireplace, I wouldnt use a fireplace, but that was the last apartment of its type they had available. A few days later I got a call from the property manager stating I still owed them $25 for the fireplace. I explained everything to her and she really didnt care. I informed her I requested a bare bones apartment. According to the lease I signed, the apartment did not include a fireplace. She actually threatened to evict me if the extra fee was not paid. After a letter from my attorney, she dropped the issue....and fired the leasing agent that made the mistake.I had the office misplace a package left for me. It was actually a text book I had ordered for one of my college classes. I had to attend the first couple classes with out my text book because the incompetent office staff misplaced it. I contacted the carrier with the tracking number and they confirmed it was delivered to the office. It did turn up 3 days later....in the office.I had a dead bird stuck in the dryer vent. The smell was awful. I placed numerous calls to the office about the horrible stench. Nothing was done for about 4-6 weeks. I began calling on a daily basis and the property manager got tired of my calls and she came to my apartment. She smelled the rotting bird smell and began dry heaving. Only then did she agree to have the dryer replaced and the vent cleaned out.As other reviewers have mentioned, parking is a nightmare. Vehicle break-ins are common. Safety is also a concern. Im a big guy, 66 and just under 300lbs...and I felt unsafe. If you value your possessions, health, safety, or life...dont live here.
Pretty safe community. Maintenance is quick.
BEWARE...THE WORST, experience I have ever had. Dont be fooled by the pictures you see on line or on the website it is ONLY pictures of inside of the office. If you notice they do not have pictures of the apartments and what they look like on the inside-WHY.. because the apartments are old, outdated and the infrastructure is very weakened and crumbling. The staff is unprofessional, incompetent and flat out lazy. Im being really nice by saying all of that. PLEASE do not move into these apartments. I promise, you will regret it! You will do better staying at an extended-in. Only lived there 1 year and had more problems than I can count. Alot of hidden fees that they dont tell you about till you ask about your deposit. Needless to say, they kept the deposit stating it needs to applied towards the cleaning fee and the months that they did not bill me for water, sewer and trash. (Oh yeah, I cleaned the apartment very well, it even still smelled like carpet fresh when I moved out). The secure doors are all a front, people were still breaking into apartments and stealing people cars when I lived there. Below are all the issues I had.#Ants, that would not go away, all in the bathroom, kitchen, microwave and cabinets. The office only sprayed my apartment and refuse to spray the entire buiilding.#My car was broken into and items stole.#Mainteanance is cluessless and only puts a bandaid on the problem#Heat went out, air went out and I was without both for at least 2-3 days at a time.#Neighbors are nosey, insecure and jealous. Dont dare come out your apartment looking halfway decent, they will mean mug and snuband stare at you like they are about to rob you. They watch ever move when your coming and when your going. I will never forget when I told my renters insurance I was moving there, they told me that the complex had already had 3 robberies the past year. I paid more money for renters insurance than I have ever paid in times past.#Dont dare have visitors, they stare and scope them out as well.#Neighbors sold drugs in my building and had prostitutes coming out the building and the office did nothing about. My whole building smelled like weed to the point it was coming through all the vents in my apartment in every room.#Hallways smelled of urine and the mailboxes are often left open only cause the mailboxes need to be replaced. Often times people go in your mailbox and take your mail.#The walls are thin so think of having a conversation or doing anything in your apartment, any kind of noise will be heard and repeated to the office staff.#Alarm in the building would trip itself and the IFD came out and had to evacuate the building many times-at night when your in bed and sound asleep..this happen at least 4 times. The mainteanance crew-clueless, had not idea how to shut it off.#The building leaked/smelled of gas and the building was also evacuated because of this. There was one time we were not allowed into our apartments for about 3 days and even then the smelled lingered and gave me a migrane.#Unsafe, overall, I heard a woman in the building next me threatened to kill her boyfriend over $800.00. The patio was open and they argued for a very long time.
