This was the repair of the burner elements on a Kenmore gas grill. The tech was on time and nice enough. However, within 3 minutes he tells me we do not carry these parts we cant fix this. But I had already filled out the info on Sears service request with Make/Model etc. .... SO... it was 95.00 to tell me cant service this because we dont have the parts. I would not recommend Sears service to anyone. It was a complete ripoff.I ordered the parts on Amazon for 26.00 and they arrive tomorrow and I will repair myself. Save your money or call someone other than Sears service

We originally complained that our cloth dryer is taking very long to dry clothes. They sent a wrong person to diagnose that there is no problem with the dryer. Inspite of our complained to our warantee co, they did not do anything and so we still have the problem of clothes not drying. We could not complain to A & E factory because it is very difficult to talk to someone there. It takes foreever to connect one telephone # they provide. We wish they had sent the technician who serviced out clothe washer who is very experienced in diagnosing the problems and resolving the issues to customer like us satisfaction.

Needed to have a leak on my refrigerator looked at/repaired... Made an appointment that was almost two weeks out and given a 4 hour window (10am-2pm). At 3:45pm I was called informing me that they werent going to be able to make it out that day but happy to reschedule me... the reschedule date they wanted to give me was 3 weeks later. While still under warranty, the freezer stopped working. Sears sent someone out and we were told that he had to order parts. He never returned even though we kept calling. Finally contacted another repair company and we were told that the freezer couldn’t be repaired because it freezer unit had burned out. The repairman said that he had 23 years experience and knew what he was talking about. We called Sears again and told them what the repairman had said. Sears insisted on sending their own repairman out. He spent 3 hours trying, but at the end of the day, it still wasn’t freezing. My unit is still under warranty until April ‘21.Sears has not contacted me a since that day. The Sears repairman suggested that we tell Sears that they should issue a recall, but Sears isn’t accepting any calls from us. I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General’s but Sears isn’t responding to them either.

I requested an inspection for a washing machine that was showing an error message, in the online request I checked that it was a stacked up model, when the technician arrived he said that I should have called and say that it was a stacked up model because they need to send two technicians to be able to take the dryer down to be able to open the washing machine. I explained that I checked that option and he said that I should have called because they cant see that information in their order (like I should know what they can see in their own system). The technician did not open the washer, he just turned it on and said that the problem was the motor (without seeing it). The price of the repair was around the same price to buy a new washer so he offered me to buy a monthly program for which I would have to wait 30 days to use. I didnt get a proper inspection and I still was charged $89 for it.I called to complain and request a refund but they dont have any phone numbers in the US. All you can get is a call center in India and they barely speak English. I am very patient with that as I am an immigrant myself, but it was very hard to communicate. Finally they took my complaint and said they would contact me back. That was 2 months ago and nobody ever contacted me back. I have called back several times and they always say that I have to wait for them to send me an email. I guess I just lost $89.

Repair (replace an ice maker arm) has been going on since June 25 (this is being posted on July 30). Cannot reach a service representative by phone; wait 30 to 50 minutes for someone to answer, then always transferred to someone else (with additional 20 to 50 minute waits each time). Last attempt I was transferred six times! Original repair company (a 3rd party subcontracted by Sears) has been a no show and will not answer messages left on his personal mobile phone or his office. Called Sears warranty- the unit was out but covered by a Master Warranty- 2 hours on hold to them. Told to make an appointment through the appt number. Another hour on hold. Made an appt 5 days hence (the soonest). Repairman says needs a compressor- orders it- 5 days to be delivered to me. Made another appt.- 5 more days- he reschedules at the last minute. 6 more days to get it repaired. 21 days no refrigerator.I called and called during those days to get another repair company, to get something- anything. I had to buy a small fridge for $180 to keep my wifes medicine cool. Spent $30 on cooler ice. Filed a claim for the food- have yet to hear about that. Not holding my breath on that. The worst customer service- terminal holds, hang ups, handed off to another hold, escalation groups that never answer, promises of returned calls that never happen.DO NOT BUY SEARS!

Ok skip to a week later for the new appointment which was 08/31/2020 the technician calls me asked me what’s going on with my dryer and says I can’t fix that, so I say why not ! You guys fixed the same issue on this dryer 4 years ago, are you not going to come and look at it first ! He says no because I can’t fix that. So he never comes. It took Sears THREE MONTHS!!! to get my two year old (still under warranty) Kenmore fridge fixed. It was a failed compressor. And it still cost me $440 under warranty!! I will never buy Sears products again. fyi, Kenmore is actually made by LG which has a class-action lawsuit against them for this very compressor. My refrigerator had been acting up prior to the Sears repairman running a diagnostic. I took it upon myself to unplug the refrigerator since it had developed some ice on the freezer coils. The freezer section was working but the rest of the refrigerator was warm. Anyhow, I called Sears to have the refrigerator evaluated. The repairman was very thorough and ran several diagnostics. He said that the refrigerator had checked out well and couldnt find any thing wrong with the system. He informed me that by letting the ice around the coils melt, this made the defrost system reboot itself. I feel the repairman was honest because he could have charged me with new parts and I never would have known the difference. You dont find this type of honesty in the repair business now-a-days. He charged me for the service call plus I was able to qualify for a discount since I had a discount coupon. Sears Appliance Repair will be my first call next time one of my appliances acts up.

We are in the midst of an ongoing struggle for responsiveness, accountability, competence and closure with this company. Our broken, under warranty refrigerator was partially fixed the first time; inspected but not improved on the second visit and debilitated on the third try - that is, it was working but needed improvement before the tech arrived and completely non-functioning when they left. Trying to reach any resolution is difficult as the company has built multiple, impenetrable layers between the public and anyone who can resolve a problem on our behalf. We are currently in another long waiting period as parts need to be ordered and delivered before they can try another repair. Everyone I have spoken with is a first tier representative - they have a script and non answers. I have yet to speak with an empowered manager who actually cares about my experience and/or represents the company with integrity, action and accomplishment. This includes terms of payment, as we were told by the technician we were charged for something we should not have been and that the nature of the problem entitles us to free service or replacement. Again, only the tech (who is a good guy by all accounts) has given me any direct feedback ... theres been no engagement by the company (companies) involved. Unless they show up as heroes soon, theres simply no we we would buy from here or recommend them to others ever again.

Warning - when the website says that a service call is $87 (even if they cant repair it), its not going to be $87 - we were charged $180 for a 15 minute assessment of our washing machine, noting that the drum needed replacement, and that the part is not available to them. Complaints about the unfair additional charges can only be addressed to a foreign call center whose employees read stock answers (We have a 30 day guarantee on repairs, would you like the technician to return? was useless unless he could economically fabricate and replace a washing machine drum!), are incapable of understanding English well enough to address your complaint, and arent authorized to make any refunds.Bottom line? If you run into any problem, the only recourse youll have is to sue Sears. Good luck getting paid before they go bankrupt.EDIT AFTER CONTACT WITH SOCIAL MEDIA REPRESENTATIVE:Yes, as you can see from below, someone from social media management contacted me after my review was written. They quickly reviewed the record, and decided to refund everything but the $87 diagnostic fee.So, was this all a terrible mistake? No. After being contacted, I asked what I could do in the future to make sure that I was not charged above the $87 diagnostic fee. Turns out, its deceptive - the fee isnt to diagnose your problem. Once the technician walks into the room and opens the machine, youre being billed extra. In other words, they feel fully justified in charging extra to diagnose a problem once a diagnostic fee is paid. When I asked if they would like transcripts from my discussions with the regular customer service email, to point out that no one was able to answer my questions - I was told that they would love to, so that they can flag my account and make people note that I was a demanding customer. So, in the end, yes, I got my money back. But the problems that earned the one-star review remain - that they are intentionally deceptive in describing the $87 diagnostic fee, and that customer service is not trained to do anything other than parrot stock lines that have nothing to do with the customers complaint. My rating is unchanged.

Explained what the problem was and started shipping parts to my house. So when they were to come back to fix the problem i was contacted by text to say that the technician had an emergency and will need to rescheduled. okay fine things happen and that was mothers day wknd. I reschedule and the 2nd technician called at 530 and asked to be rescheduled because he was going to be at my house after dark because it will take a while for him to fix the problem. I asked could he come out the next day he then stated yes, which I just knew he was lying. Because the next day I contacted Sears and they said I was rescheduled for 05/23 and I never knew or confirmed that date. So after speaking to a supervisor through a chat and filed a complaint, and was advised that someone would call me but they never did. I rescheduled for today 05/20 and to date still no TECHNICIAN. So far to date I have been rescheduled 04/25, 05/13 & 05/20. And all they can say is I apologized and ask would you like to reschedule.I say this because Sears was a house hold name that was respected and was loyal to their customer. I know sears went through bankruptcy and closing stores. My question is it legal to lie flat face to your customers and think it is okay. Its like who ever sears sold their company too, have let Sears Brand and services down. They are not the Sears I grew up with.

Sears failed to repair my washing machine under contract and accused my wife abusing the machine when a noise occurred and I phoned for service. Mind you, this machine has been under a Sears service contract for eleven(11) years and this accusation was their attempt to not repair or replace the machine. Three days of being constantly placed on hold amounting to several hours, talking to at least three(3) supervisors accomplished nothing even after their promise to send a second opinion repairman to service the machine. It has been two weeks since the phone call was made for service. I have now purchased a new washing machine and the Sears purchased machine will be removed and I will be cancelling all business and credit card business with Sears after over 35 years as a customer. I completed a survey for Sears and noted that I was dissatisfied. I was contacted by a representative who advised that she could have a repair person come out for another service charge. I let her know that I was unwilling to pay another charge for a service that had not been performed correctly the first time. I was told that she would speak with the Regional Manager and contact me with potential solutions. It has been 3 business days without a follow-up from anyone at Sears.

VERY DISSATISFIED. This repair has been going on since mid-November. We have had four repair visits. Three times they claimed they repaired the ice maker. On one visit the technician stated he could not do this repair and we would have to reschedule to get someone who could. They have now scheduled a FIFTH repair visit. I am extremely disappointed and cannot find anyone at Sears to discuss this with. Every time I call and ask for a supervisor, I get the same apologies and rescheduling of another visit. The next repair is set for January 6th. I have Craftsman mowers, snow blowers, tools; Sears appliances, etc. It has been some time since Ive had a warranty/service call. I doubt I will ever buy from Sears again.

Our dishwasher is broken. We had to wait a week and a half for a repairman to come fix it. Within less than an hour of the repairman leaving, the dishwasher stopped working again. He hadnt fixed it. We tried calling Sears, but it was after 5:00pm when this happened, so they were closed. We called the next day. They said the soonest they could get someone back to look at it again was in another week. We had already waited for our turn. The repairman didnt do his job. They should not make us wait again. It was Sears fault. This should have been a top priority for them to rectify. But it was not. The scheduler refused to get us in sooner. The schedulers manager refused to get us in sooner. The managers boss refused to get us in sooner. Customers and constomer service are NOT a priority to Sears.

I had a really good experience in having one of your technicians come out to diagnose and repair our Craftsman riding mower. He was punctual and was able to get us up and running again.

Sears personnel are always so professional and prompt. If they tell you they will be there at a certain time, you can depend on it. More importantly they know what they are doing and are very thorough. You can depend on them to do it right!

Overall the service was just as advertised. The website and appointment system worked well and the repair man was quick and the price was fair. This is the second time I have used the service and both times worked well.

I am very unhappy with Sears repairs. My ice maker was not making ice. All that needed to be done was push a reset button that is hidden underneath and they charged me $85 for that. It took the repair person less than 2 minutes to do this. Then the repair person said I am not suppose to show you this but there is a reset button hidden right here. They could of told me on the phone to check that first before they came out and charged me a service call fee. And I feel this should be in the trouble shooting section in the manual. Then he took another 5 minutes or more to try and sell me a service contract even after I told him no thanks, he kept trying to sell it to me. Will not use them again!

Sears provides the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Tech. came out to fix a leaking washer and in turn after replacing a piece, it leaks worse and he didnt even confirm that before leaving. Now maybe a week later they will be out to fix it, but every day we they change the appointment. I will NEVER use them again.

Refrigerator repair man was professional/polite/on time BUT the repair on our Whirlpool bottom freeze failed - still defrosting and leaking (but this is a design problem.) Yet we still have to call repair to come back after $250 repair.

Service was not very good. We had water everywhere. They ordered the wrong water heater which caused a delay on receiving the 75 gallon we needed not commercial. Found out the water heater had been available in store. We had to pay a plumber 235.00 to have water detached from water heater since the long delay almost a week later when i had to call to see if it could be expedited. Thats when lady told us they rang up wrong item and that we could have had water heater the prior week. The installer did do good work when we finally got it.

Technician was polite and called us the morning of our appointment to let us know about what time he might arrive to look at our Kenmore refrigerator. He felt we needed a new ice maker which would cost us $350 for a 5 yr old appliance which we were not willing to do so, our refrigerator was not fixed.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SEARS APPLIANCE TO MY WORST ENEMY! This has nothing to do with the technicians, it has everything to do with the customer service and scheduling. After the technician diagnosed the problem, he then told me it was a 7-10 day lead time on the parts, so we ordered the parts and scheduled the repair on 4/2/18 between 8 and noon. The parts arrived on 3/29/18 and we kept the same repair date for 4/2/18.........noon came and went so I decided to call Sears around 2 pm to see where the technician was at....I was told he went ahead and cancelled and I was given no explanation nor could the customer service department get ahold of him. After 3 phone calls between 3 different customer service reps and 1 Supervisor I still had no answer on to why my install date was cancelled and the Best date available was going to be 4/10/18. This was un acceptable to me and I was told I would receive a phone call back from the said Supervisor and what do you know, I received no such phone call back. I called back this morning on 4/4/18 and after 45 minutes of going back and forth to explain to them the 10th is not an option for me and it needs to be sooner, I was then told Ok sir, we have an opening tomorrow between 8 and noon I accepted and went about my day. Well here I am at 2 pm and I receive a phone call that my apt for tomorrow between 8 and noon is cancelled once again and now the best option is 4/11/18. I talked with a Supervisor once again, and all I get is the typical Im sorry sir but that is the best we can do.I have never received an answer on why my 1st apt was cancelled and now I have to wait another week..........I will make sure that EVERY SINGLE PERSON I TALK TO WILL BE TOLD TO NEVER USE SEARS APPLIANCE REPAIR!!!!!!!!

They sent the wrong repairman to my house. He was supposed to do maintenance at someones house but I had a repair request for a malfunctioning icemaker. Instead of trying to get the right repairman, he tried to figure it out himself. He couldnt repair it. I should have been able to get a whole new frig but because he turned it in as a maintenance, not a repair, I dont qualify. So after waiting 2 weeks for this appointment, I have to wait for another appointment in 2 weeks. The extended maintenance program that Sears offers is a joke and waste of money and your time. I hope you will see this and not make my mistake.

We have had good service in the past, but this was a nightmare. The first two times after taking off work TWICE, no one showed up and I didnt even get a call to tell me they werent showing up. I had to call and go through several telephone transfers to find out they werent coming. I spent Thanksgiving with huge boxes in my dining room with the washer parts as a result. When they finally showed up the third time after a month had passed, they had the nerve to leave the used parts in my dining room. I am disabled and they expected me to arrange the disposal of washing tubs?? I ended up having to pay someone to dispose of the defective washing machine parts-which was basically the entire inside of the washer. As a result I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears. What good is an extended warranty if you cant get quality service?

This is the 5th or 6th time I have had to have them out for the same problem. The repairmen have given a different diagnosis every time, they never order the part by the next visit, and the appliance has continued to damage my property for months on end. I am still trying to get the repair completed, but I will never call Sears again after this transaction is complete.
