Edit: Since my initial review, I learned that there was an issue with my insurance company. Im learning that having an employer with an out of state insurance company can cause confusion and delays if Im not extra careful to make sure they have the right info 😊 This really is a good clinic. Blame the health insurance system for being so complex to navigate I guess.The doctor herself is extremely nice. The procedure went very well and had minimal, very little pain. The lack of transparency about the price is what bothers me. I asked about price before coming (because I knew insurance may likely not cover anything) and was told one price from the clinic for removing the mole. They were upfront about how much the lab may charge for biopsy and that the price couldnt be predicted exactly, which is understandable. I get a bill from the lab which is about as high as expected. Then I get a balance from the clinic that is much higher than expected. I was then told that there were charges for the removal and two visits that I hadnt been told about beyond the copay and initial cost previously. I suppose Im learning that I have to ask every specific question under the sun to know the proper expectations.My advice to my future self and other patients: Ask whatever clinic, Im going to ask you to tell me every single cost as if I have no health insurance--the visits, the copay, the procedures, the tests, everything. I want to plan for the worst because Id rather be pleasantly surprised when I get the bill. And after they tell you, ask again, Now, again, pretend I dont have health insurance. Have you told me every single cost for every single step? And dont give them your insurance info or set an appointment until they do.
