We have been here 3 months and love it. It’s quiet and tucked away. You get a pleasant view of the well kept courtyard from your patio instead of facing a garage or parking lot. The residents are so fun and unique. Very pet friendly and even has a dog park! We have had no issues with getting anything fixed or getting responses to any questions. Very satisfied with our experience thus far.

I have to say I’m a little surprised with the negative reviews left as I have nothing negative to say about living at Huntington Vista. Tanner was awesome during the move in process and answering any questions through out and after and so far living here has been great! I’ve seen reviews about the laundry room problems and clothes being taken but have to wonder if these are the same people that leave their laundry in the machines for days lol Any apartment complex I’ve lived in has machines down, they’re being run all day long, pretty normal to have maintenance issues here and there. So far I haven’t had an issue plus the app makes it super easy to use and also report if a machine is down. The gym has pretty much any equipment you’d need and so far anytime I’ve been there, I’ve had it to myself! Friendly neighbors and with the amount of dogs I see being walked outside it’s surprisingly very quiet! Maybe it’s the area of the complex we are in but overall we have loved living here.

5:45am in the morning, my 3 year old, wife and I got ambush by 2 pit bulls running wild in the complex without their owner by my carport. It was the scariest scene ever. This should not have happened. That same night, a dog, in a unit across from us, was barking out of the windows all night begging for its owner ( obviously not home). So many irresponsible dog owners this is out of control. Its also due to the fact that management has no rules. The dog park, a few feet away from our unit, is open 24 hours. Thats not fair to us, the dogs always bark and we are paying more than $3000 a month in rent we deserve a peaceful night of sleep. This is just the tip of the iceberg with this complex. This is by far the worst place we have ever lived in the US. We travelled coast to coast. Dirty, dated, chaotic living environment. The single word description for this place is filthy.

Maintenance guy is the only thing good here. Got our laundry stolen because their machines were down for a week. Management was zero help. I still have 12 months here :(Reply to 1st Response: if the machines were down that is something that HAS TO BE communicated to your residents. It was not. Clothes were sitting in the wet washer getting funky and management told us to call the washer and dryer company! Isn’t that their job? We did anyways, and they were no help either. This review is the only way to get any help with anythingUpdate jan 30th: I sent an email on Wednesday. Still no response. They literally asked me to send them an email and they still don’t respond or even acknowledge that they’re working on it.

I’ve seen and listened to a lot of the residents here complain about the laundry rooms. Somehow half of them still do not work correctly. They act like they reach out to you on your review but they don’t actually fix anything on the property. Prices are wayyyy to high for how terribly this complex is ranUpdate 3/9: so you think that the machines you own I should have to call and get them repaired? Hahahhahaha AND THIS is why you don’t want to live here

I chose this apartment knowing little about the area and without being able to visit. It was a massive mistake. There are many issues making it unpleasant to live. But the worst part is the major safety issues that arise routinely and management doing nothing about it. I have found homeless men sleeping in the hallway twice in 6 months and have seen others wandering the complex going through trash. There have been other violent domestic fights, my car has been rummaged through and people often complain about things being stolen from their patios. Ive reported issues to management and have asked for next steps to be taken for resident safety; cameras and a security guard. But nothing has been done and despite escalating my concerns Ive been clearly told nothing will be done. The worst part was after the second time I found a drunk homeless man outside of my door I tried to warn other residents on our community board to be careful and lock their car and apt doors. Management conveniently didnt post my warning while posting items for sale and other communications. That was the last straw. Not only is this place unsafe but the management wants to hide the issues. Be warned if you are considering moving here and if you live in HV please lock your doors, be aware and stay safe.

I loved living at Huntington Vista. The community was friendly and I felt all of my neighbors had compassion and looked out for each other. Mark and the rest of the staff were amazing. I am a single mom with teenage girls and I felt it was a safe community. I moved out last month as I needed to move closer to downtown to be near my daughters school. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I’ve only been here three months and the laundry rooms are never in service and IF they are, 4 out of the 5 washing machines don’t drain water so your clothes just get tossed around in dirty water for an hour. In addition to that, my laundry basket full of my clothes got STOLEN from said laundry room. They have cameras in there but I got lucky and the cameras just so happened to not have view of my items that were stolen. On top of that, my mail can’t even get delivered to me. My packages are currently sitting in someone else’s mailbox and the mailman literally laughed at me and said he doesn’t know what to tell me.

The security in this place is awful. I just had multiple items stolen from my front porch and carport. The police weren’t helpful and the complex does nothing. There are so many homeless people that come in and raid the trash and roam around the complex. Too expensive for the “quality” of the complex.

Lived here for a year and all in all it was a great place to live. At times the dogs in the complex can be loud and the traffic from the road (a lot of very fast and loud cars lol) will scare you out of your sleep. But aside from that all the location is amazing. It’s in the perfect place to be able to reasonably enjoy all the amazing parts of OC. The beach, the bars, the mountains.... everything. The staff at this place is pretty good. Although, I did not appreciate Chastity, the old manager, she was always very rude and condescending. But the new manager Mark is awesome and very helpful. You can tell he really cares about his job. I also wanted to point out Savannah, she is the sweetest most welcoming office attendant I’ve ever dealt with. She was always so helpful and friendly. So thank you Mark and Savannah for all your help ! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to live in a great spot in Orange County. Thank you Huntington Vista !

Huntington Vistas looked like it was going to be a good place for us but turned out completely the opposite. Multiple neighbors having physical fights outside our place, the trash and energy bills were crazy high and they will make up totally bogus charges when you move. Never given a bad review in my life but this place totally deserves the bad reviews they have. Good thing is we’re in our new place and it’s way cheaper with more amenities by far. Be very careful getting lured in by their cheap move in specials, there’s a reason they do this. We were there one year and left place perfect and they came up with almost a thousand dollars in charges.

The apartments really aren’t nice the bathroom in the master bedroom is a pretty good size but I’ve seen better I don’t know the people there aren’t the best and it’s overpriced but hey if it’s the only thing you can find it’s livable I never really got bad vibes or anything but I have to say there was a problem with one of the neighbors which happens it’s rentals you’re not going to get the best people or have those neighbors for a long time and sometimes this homeless person on a bike would come in and go through the trash which I don’t have a problem with it’s actually pretty normal for Orange County but what I’m saying is you can’t come into this place with high expectations the location is great it’s super close to the beach, schools, Trader Joe’s, close to Costa Mesa and Newport I do have to say that they also gave me a beach pass

We have been here roughly 5 months and we love it just as much if not more than the first day we moved in. We are lucky to have an upstairs corner unit in the back so it’s not very congested. Everyone we have met has been so nice and helpful, way better neighbors than a lot of the other complex’s around town. When we moved in our neighbor helped us move our couch up over the second floor patio since it wouldn’t fit through the door. Everyone is always offering to help out. It’s close to a lot of things and the beach which is a plus. You do get occasional riff raft but honestly, not as bad as our “nicer” complex we previously lived in. the apartment inside is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful hardwood floors and pretty updated cabinets. The vaulted ceilings are to die for. The living room is ridiculously big. The bathroom had some lazy shortcuts you can tell but it’s nothing worth complaining over. For the most part it’s quiet, minus barking dogs, all the time. It’s definitely worth the price. It’s double the size of our last place and about the same cost. The only downside is all the extra fees for parking and pets which is common. Extremely high utilities here. I’ve never paid nearly $100 a month for just sewer and trash. Office staff is the best! In every apartment I’ve lived I have never had office staff that was just so nice and helpful after you move in. Savannah and chassidy really are the best. Overall we love it here we don’t plan on moving anytime soon.

My opinion of this complex has drastically changed since renewing my lease. Signing the original lease was smooth and moving in was quite easy; but the leasing staff is wildly incompetent when it comes to executing a lease renewal. My new lease has been overcharging me every month; and despite having proof in hand of what my rate should be, the leasing staff refuses to fix it. At the end of the day, this staff will do what they want and expect residents to just stand by idly. DO NOT trust this staff. The maintenance crew is great and there are a lot of wonderful neighbors; but I cannot stress enough how incompetent this leasing staff and UDR are as a whole.

Jaime has been an amazing property manager. Anytime Ive had an issue or problem, whether my fault or something else, he has always been very attentive from the very beginning. For example, I have an incredibly common name and my initial application process was extremely frustrating as it was crossing other people with the same name as mine and halting the progress. It took some time, but instead of renting out to someone else, he kept on it until it was sorted out.Since Ive been here, theyve fixed a few maintenance issues in my unit, always the next day, and also renovated the pool. They also repainted everything and it was done quickly and it looks really nice.I would definitely recommend coming to live at Huntington Vista. With everything they have to offer a community and the family-style management, being close to the beach could not be easier. 5 Stars!

Been here for several months now--everyone Ive met, both neighbors and management, have been (at minimum) polite/friendly, helpful, and reasonable. A neighbor went out of her way to help me move a heavy dresser in her flip-flops! Plus, if you like cats, theres always a friendly cats or two lounging around the walkways.Management is a pretty small group--just 2 or 3 people total, and only 1 person manning the front desk on any given day--so they are much easier to reach if you find the time to go to the office in person, but theyre pretty good at picking up calls, too.A couple of complaints. My bathroom smelled a little odd when I first moved in, the thermostat control for the heater is absolutely ancient and hard to fine-tune (its not even a dial--its a slider) and reserved parking is a little expensive--plus, I dont think the parking rules are very clear, so Ill come back every so often to my parking spot being used by someone. It doesnt bother me too much, so long as I retain the right to get them towed if they dont move by a reasonable time. A bigger issue for me is that the office closes so early--6PM--because if USPS/FedEx/UPS drops a package off at the office, and you arent there to pick it up, no dice. You have to go in during open hours and pick it up. Usually the mail carrier will drop it at your apartment door/in your mailbox, but sometimes certain packages get dropped at the office.A lot of the bad reviews seem to be from people with skewed expectations of life in an apartment. Its an apartment complex, not a hotel nor a privately owned condo. This isnt a luxury high-rise. There is no HOA, nor are there daily cleaning staff, which is reflected in the fact that the rent isnt mind-bogglingly high. Management does their best to keep the peace, but its a pretty big complex so not everything will be perfect at all times. And even then, the landscaping and facilities are generally well-kept and pleasant. Yeah, the walls are thin. Yeah, there are kids playing. Yeah, the facilities are communally used and sometimes someone forgets to clear out the dryer lint. Deal with it, thats part of the trade off of living in an apartment. Did you not realize this when you took the tour?A couple other pluses--Its super close to the beach, and a stones throw from Trader Joes and a decent Thai place.

I am basing my three stars on the front of the complex, the rear of the complex would receive one star. There are different sections to this complex. At the rear of the complex, there are rude and inconsiderate neighbors. We did move from the rear to the front of the complex and were happy to find that it was much more quiet. It is safe to say that the age range of the occupants is late 20s to 40s.Children:In the rear of the complex, many units send their children to play outside unsupervised. You can have up to six children running around screaming, playing volleyball, basketball, slip and slide, leaving their toys, shoes, bikes on the lawn, running up and down stairways, climbing on other people railings, playing handball, tearing property flowers to toss at each other etc and not one parent reminds their child to keep their voices down. I pointed it out MANY times, but parents didnt have a problem w/this behavior. These parents were also part of the problem with their loud parties. My baby was constantly being woken up. I did ask if they could keep the noise down, but I was told by a neighbor, this is Huntington Beach and if you want quiet then this is the wrong area. Another neighbor responded by saying that they can make as much noise as they want up until 10 p.m. The lease clearly states, noise should not be disruptive to others.Windows:They recently installed double pane windows to help resolve the noise issue. These windows are terrific! However, the downside is that the units dont have air condition, and when the weather is hot, you will need a heavy duty air conditioner.Smoking:Update (8/2017): New management has sent a notice to all tenants that smoking is prohibited. There has been an issue of some units smoking marijuana as the smoke drifts into other units.Railing:New patio railings were installed to deter people from hoping in and out of their units and also to deter parties from leaking onto the lawn. However, parties still leak onto the lawn at the rear of the complex.Dogs:There are dogs of all breeds and sizes and some neighbors allow their dogs to be off of a leash. I have heard some dogs who bark excessively while an owner is away so look out for this when you are looking to rent. There is a dog park located in the complex and there are doggy stations which supply bags and trash cans for poop. All of the grass areas are used by the dogs for their business.Laundry Room:The facility does have a regularly scheduled wipe down of the machines. However, tenants do leave clothes on top of machines and can be messy. I did have my clothes stolen out of the machine once.Parking:Each unit comes with a parking spot. You can pay additional fees for added spots. There is guest parking.New Management:There is new management: Chassidy and Marcell are very helpful and courteous. Maintenance is professional and nice.Appliances:The units have used appliances and when one breaks down it is replaced by a used appliance.Rent and Costs:The rent is lower in price than other apartments in the area, but keep in mind that you will share utilities with other units and will pay a certain percentage. You will have additional fees on top of the rent such as dog rent, car parking fee(s), garbage, cable etc. We pay about $400 extra on top of the amount of rent.Update: We moved out if the complex and I am truly happy that we did. I do not recommend this complex unless you are in your 20s and enjoy noise, partying, lose dogs etc. It is definitely suitable for a certain personality and lifestyle.

Deciding to move here was a mistake.I complained to the office about dog urine raining down on my patio from above. Urine-soaked dog pads are a common occurrence on my back patio. And Huntington Vista office staff did nothing. I submitted complaints 3 times in a period of 4 months about this issue. I was told that the neighbors upstairs arent suppose to have pets, as they didnt have them on their lease. Still nothing happened and the problem persisted. Now, Im being retaliated against by the neighbor (who is personal friends with members of the staff) with aggressive, hostile comments from the balcony. The same neighbors also have a cat (not on their lease, Im told by the management). They now intentionally stomp around at all hours of the day and night because they dont like me. Additionally, I was held against my will in a locked office by the manager to explain herself when I submitted a complaint about her ineffectiveness to UDR Corporate in Denver. She then told me, after I complained to corporate about being held against my will, that I was no longer to have any direct contact with the office staff. Why are the upstairs neighbors favored by the staff, to violate their lease terms? At my expense (dealing with animal urine raining down on my BBQ and bikes)? How am I now the problem?I will contact the Fair Housing Board about this situation. Im the bad tenant because Ive complained, and now Im being punished. This isnt all. The lighting in the complex is dim and it does not feel safe to walk around the complex at night. As a single woman who lives by herself, I definitely dont appreciate this factor.Parking is always a problem, and the parking rules and regulations are not enforced. The laundry facilities are filthy, too.Ive always paid rent on time. And Ive never had a serious problem living here until the situation with these horrible neighbors and the incompetent office management staff. Now, Im fearful for the issues that I will have to deal with for telling the truth.Ive been retaliated against by the insane neighbor who started all of these problems with the dog urine. She is a friend of the management, by the way. There was a nasty note left on my door in retaliation for posting the truth on Yelp.Luckily, Ive found another place to reside and will remove myself from this situation. Its been very stressful and Im looking forward to the relief of not having to deal with this any longer.I URGE YOU --- DO NOT MOVE HERE! UDR is a horrible management company. Youll see: Search Google reviews for Huntington Vista Apartments in Huntington Beach, CA. Youll see that Im not alone in this.UPDATE: Moved out. In the interim, went to retrieve some personal items from the apartment and the door would not unlock (broken). Called in to complex maintenance. They came and fixed it. When I came back the next day, I saw that the management TAPED MY NEW KEY ON THE FRONT DOOR!!! How completely moronic! Please let this be a testament to how unprofessional and stupid the staff is at Huntington Vista. Never, never again.

This is the most depressing, unsanitary, noisy, cigarette smelling place to live. I have been living here for over 3 months and its so terrible I have to move. First. There kids yelling all the time outside yelling in front of your apartment untill 930pm. No adult supervision at all. I have complained to the front office and the kids just acted worse. The kids eat in front of you front door and leave their dishes and trash all over. Forget it if you work at home or need any kind of quiet. I have kids too but I take them to a park and the beach every day and I work. The dogs are barking all hours of the day and night. There is no air unit so you either bake or the smoke pot and or cigarette smoke comes in your bedroom window untill 11 pm them you can open your window but you hear the dogs barking. Dog poop is everywhere no one wants to clean it up. Its the size of a full Adult mans waste. Its still sitting outside on the walkway for over 2 weeks. Big dogs are allowed here and some people have 2 dogs. The common areas smell like pee and poop. Trash is everywhere I saw used tampons on the ground too, the trash area is always full and spilling out.Inside the apartments are old popcorn ceilings and really old windows so you hear everything even when the windows are closed. The walls are thin you hear your neighbors at 6am so you wake up at 6am. Mold is present and my fire alarms needed to be replaced it took them 2 months to go so.This has been my experience. I feel unsafe and my car has been vandalized while being here. Also the illegally towed my husbands car which I read was a common practice.I would never ever rent here or have my enemy rent here. Its worse then aweful.

I had signed a lease and paid for an apartment for 3 weeks before I moved in. I had driven 19 hours and walked into my new remodeled apartment and within 5 seconds, saw a cockroach run on the floor and looked down and my legs were converted in fleas. I had been in the apartment for not even two minutes and walked right back out. Not only was Jaime manager inconsiderate, but refused to let me out of the lease although the apartment was uninhabitable and infested apt 20. I had spent 3 nights in a hotel dealing with Jaime and corporate who didnt see anything but the dollar signs they were getting from the lease. Instead, I was forcefully moved into another unit since my options were the roach apt or a new apt which the tenet had just moved out of the day before and he had knocked on my door to tell me that they had told him he had to move out because I was taking the apartment. So the apartment was NEVER cleaned or even touched and Jaime had promised it would be. Although my apartment has issues, the other units are just the same. The units in building where apt 20 is have a huge infestation of rats and mice. One women saw a rat in her refrigerator. There is mold growing in the ladies apt in my building due to a water issue and it has never been treated although the tenet has asked multiple times. As my photos show, there is always trash piled up. There are some people here who dont have issues with the apartments and that would be Jaimes fiancé. Her apartment was completely renovated with new appliances and cabinets and all done by an outside contractor, not even our Maintance guys who are the ones who do that Meanwhil I have had 4 old dishwashers.Since living here, my car was broken into and my stuff was stolen along with 5 other cars, COCKROACHES are everywhere. But if your trying to reach Jaime, good luck. He never returns phone calls or emails. He had left early and sneaks out frequently and a few months ago had left the office door unlocked with everyones personal information at the disposal of anyone who walked in. There are sooooo many better places to live then to live in a place like this.

Note: Barcelona is 2 bedrooms and 1 3/4 bath, not 2 full bathrooms. It would be nice if they provided what was advertised, especially if specific apartment isnt available for viewing prior to move in. Moving cross-country doesnt give leighway for finding another apartment.- Refrigerator was not operational upon move in, required replacement- One heater did not work upon move in and continued not working for 4 months (despite work orders submitted)- Stove knobs x 2 were not secured to stove (one fixed, other still not secured properly)- Dishwasher was not operational, replaced- Second dishwasher was not operational, replaced with smaller used one- Kitchen sink flooded with disgusting, horribly smelling water on multiple occasions (I have it on video of anyone is interested)… two of my personal rugs were ruined and required to be thrown out related to these multiple incidences- Both bathroom sinks leaked, ruining items under both sinks multiple times- Master bathroom and other bathroom had nasty water coming in those too, which I had to clean regularly, but the smell permeated through the whole apartment- New blinds were installed backwards (from left to right, not right to left), also they had missed putting up two of the individual blinds, AND the large, heavy plastic cover piece landed on my head when I was attempting to walk outside- Our water was shut off many times during this lease period, as well as hot water being turned off multiple times without notice (I work at a hospital and REQUIRE a shower after work, no excuse!)... they did not properly notify people of these issues, otherwise I couldve showered at work before coming home- Electricity went out several times without notice as well- Extra fee for pet, parking, trash, water, sewage. Apartment utility fees are based on size of apartment, not number of people in apartment or specific usage- Washers are constantly broken; wasting time and energy rewashing clothes***Also, community church next to complex is VERY loud and disrespectful... music, screaming, loud speaker, etc***This list is not all inclusive of the issues at this complex, but it gives an idea of why I’m moving as soon as my lease is up.⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars are for the following:+ Location is awesome+ Neighbors are nice+ New office people are nice+ Dog friendly

This is the worst apartment complex ever!!!! When we first moved in our entire apartment smelled like paint since all of our cabinets have been painted over so many times and as the time went on it eventually chipped everywhere all over everything. We also had our bikes stolen from right outside our apartment door and they were locked up, we complained to the office and all they said was do you have renters insurance? This was so infuriating since of course we have insurance but thats beside the point, they dont even have a bike rack so you can lock your bike and if you live on the bottom floor all of your belongings are exposed so there really is no other way to protect them unless you store them inside your apartment.Wait theres more, we had mold in our shower and all management did was re-cock it over and over. Our dining room window was not secure and we asked to have it fixed because it was easy to break into and all they did was buy a cheap part from probably home depot which didnt even work. Security here is non existent, the front gate never works and management does nothing about it so if you have valuables beware. This place is horrible with terrible customer service even though they swear they try, dont consider moving here look elsewhere.
