This place has the most sensitive fire alarms and if you work from home they have monthly Fire Alarm Testing which can range up to two hours non stop. Dont stay here if you get headaches or if you have pets. But if you love the relaxing sound of fire alarms this is the place for you. Will definitely not be renewing my lease.
I had a great experience here. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful complex. I would definitely recommend this place
Went on a tour, friendly and fun guides. The community is nice and we’ll maintain. I’ll definitely recommend to friend.
I went in for a tour and it was a great experience. Both Monika and Anna are a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend and excellent community.
Nice property. Ultimately decided to rent in Irvine because of location to my work but worth checking out if your looking in HB.
Wonderful. The leasing office team - specially Monika - helped me and my friends so much on applying for this wonderful place that made us wish more and more on moving in. We look foward on living here, thanks Avalon!
Touring this community was such a breeze. From start to finish the office staff was helpful and very informational. Looking forward to possibly calling AvalonBay Home for the next year or more.
Wow! I saw this place online, booked a tour and applied immediately! I had the pleasure of speaking with Chris, Geneva, Blake and Anna! The entire leasing office was very helpful and polite. This property is secure, clean and has everything I want and need. They even left me Lucky Charms on my counter for St Patrick’s day! The team is well rounded.. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
Yesterday I had 2 service gentlemen come for a work order I had placed and then today I had 3 other service people come to complete the task. They are all so sweet and down to earth. I have a pup Johnny Cash who has EXTREME anxiety who is being rehabilitated and I had some interesting requests to assist with Cash so that they could comfortably perform what they needed to and they had no issues or questions. They were super polite and friendly and everything went really well. Most important is they do NOT rush to get something completed, they actually appear to care and want to help versus it being a job That is hard to find. So maintenance team!!!!
I want to share my experience at this wonderful complex. Let’s start off with the 1st person you will met when u come by or call. Geneva!! Upon arriving she made us feel great over the phone when making first contact. Very professional and informative. Her knowledge of the Avalon procedures is outstanding. We were transferring complexes and she helped us every step of the way. When I say she made us feel like family that’s a understatement. She has made our stay here very pleasant and I cannot say enough things about her. I would also like to mention that the maintenance and grounds staff is the best I’ve ever experienced living at any Avalon in southern Cali. I will update this review with each of their names tomorrow. Thanks Avalon HB for a great experience hope to live here again one day!!!!
I cannot BELIEVE how helpful and professional Octavio was. I had thrown my iPhone into the trash chute, which is embarrassing enough…I was flabbergasted and upset at myself, of course. But I sincerely thank Octavio…he literally spent almost two whole hours digging through the trash bin and actually found my iPhone! I cannot express my gratitude to this person! He truly went above and beyond and I can’t be more thrilled. This person should be given an accolade of some sort as he saved me that much and even saved me from delays with my business! He is amazing. Thank you Avalon, for hiring and having Octavio…he is truly an amazing man. ThankYou thank you, Octavio!
I have lived here for a few years now and really appreciate the professionalism, friendliness and attentiveness the staff takes here. The maintenance employees do a great job of keeping the grounds looking nice.
Avalon Huntington Beach has been nothing but AMAZING! They have the best customer service and the staff has been so welcoming and helpful! Not to mention the property is stunning and has so many beautiful clean amenities.
Avalon Huntington Beach has many things which contribute to it being a great place to live - amenities, location, parking - and the maintenance team is top notch. They are prepared, fast and friendly and defintely set a great example during the pandemic.
Made an appointment for self guided tour last month and the experience was not pleasant. Upon arrival, there was no staff in the lobby. After mobile check-in, we were instructed via email to open a box with our name which contained the keys to the apartment units along with directions. I kind of understand limiting contact during covid but all of the other apartments that we toured at least had a person who greeted us and introduced us to the complex and was able to answer questions. At the end of our tour, we wanted to speak with someone to learn more about the complex but that wasnt possible. After touring the property for an hr, I really needed to use the bathroom; only to find a post on the lobby bathroom door saying its only for management associates. I peeked my head into the office door behind the lobby counter where a staff was located and she immediately told me to get out of her office and go behind the security belt gate as if I’m a contagious person although I wore mask and was fully vaccinated. They did not seem like they wanted to do business. Too bad I would actually seriously consider living there given the units and amenities were decent. But, I’d rather give my business to someone who wants it.
I just moved in to this apartment complex and I have to say I was extremely impressed with Geneva!!! She absolutely handled herself in the most kind and professional way. She was very accommodating to my unusual requests and helped me in any way she could. This complex is lucky to have her as part of the team. Thank you everyone at Huntington Beach Avalon. We love our new place and will be recommending this location to everyone we know. Big thumbs up!!!!
It’s been over a year and all the buildings amenities remain closed. The building allows homeless people to walk around with impunity, and uses covid as an excuse to take away the reasons one would move here in the first place.
We moved in two months ago and love everything about it. Geneva was very accommodating and she answered every question we had she made the process as stress free as possible for us.
Terrible cooperate management. The pace is literally managed from 2000 miles away, and policy makes no sense at all. Gym is by reservation only, and opens late and closes early. They let crime go unanswered, but ban you from gym if you don’t wear a mask.
I lived here about a year ago. Genuinely enjoyed living in this location. Really nice amenities and the quality of the apartments are great too. Great area to live in. Thought it was well managed for an apartment complex.
Worst place i ever lived :the building usually not cleanthe office never answer the phone also during the night the area is very loud.there is trucks coming in and out all tight to the costco near by.because the poor customer service experience i had a feeling i will not get my security deposit back and i didntthey charge me $400 to paint the walls even it was same condition when i moved in.another $60 for carpet cleaning and i already paid 170 for cleaning fee (doesnt make any sense )luckily i have pictures before i left the apartment and im going to file a complain with the state.im sure there is more people like me
Beautiful newer apt building close to bella terra costco and golden west college
We had our eyes on this place last year. Due to unforeseen events we were unable to move. BUT we did finally this year! We are in a two bedroom two bath and are really enjoying it! The facilities are BEAUTIFUL, well kept, and have a tone of recreational rooms! Tristan, our leasing agent, is not only hysterical, but made the move in process super smooth. 5 Stars! Oh, plus you can WALK to Bella Terra and forgo all the parking madness :)
My current experience at this property is average. I will say the amenities and the apartments are of good quality but due to COVID-19 theyre not accessible. My two biggest concerns is that management is not as responsive to emails from tenants as I have emailed them several times about a parking situation that they told me was resolved but I find out that they really didn’t do anything since the vehicle is still violating the rules. Another issue I had was dealing with my things being put in a temporary storage locker and then were misplaced while I wasnt notified that my locker was even accessed before by the staff. I will say that this issue was due to a former community consultant that no longer works at the property.I also think that management needs to keep residents accountable for helping to keep the common areas respectable by cleaning up after their pets. There have been numerous times I found dog feces or urine in the stairwells or elevators. Also, living above the F45 gym studio is not ideal if you have your windows open and dont want to hear music blasting at 6am on a weekend.
Maintenance team is on top of their game! They always come in a timely manner and solve the issue right away. Tristan in the leasing office is extremely professional and helpful. He takes his time explaining everything, showing all options and made transferring apartments for me a breeze. Thank you for your time and attention to detail, Tristan!
The maintenance staff here is so superb! They are so friendly, professional and get the job done every time. I really think they are the best I have ever met in my entire life and I am in property management industry too.
All and all i love this community but someone should fix the fact that a lot of my amazon and ups and special packages my mother sent me were absolutely stolen from the lobby there has got to be a much more full proofed way to secure your residents packages...
This is my 3rd year renewing my lease here at Avalon! It has been such a great experience here mostly due to the great people who work at the front lobby and the rest of the maintenance staff. They are always quick and attentive to answer my questions and maintenance requests within 24 hours. I love the cleanliness and modern style of this complex. Its really important to me that I am living somewhere that values cleanliness, style and safety. 5/5 would recommend to all my friends! In fact, I have already referred some of my friends to live at other Avalon complexes, and they tell me they love it too!
Christine Helped us with our move. We are extremely happy. She was great, patient, and helpful. We love the Avalon community. They are way better then the AVA Toluca Hills community.
Beautiful and modern apartments but at these prices, I prefer to rent in hotels Including breakfast, electricity, water and everything. Besides, there is a constant hassle at night from Costco, they want me to file a complaint against Costco, but they dont want to make this complaint. They know that Im leaving in a few months, but the inconvenience will last forever, very funny.Im afraid to buy online because some shipments dont get to the right apartment due to the large number of apartments and because the difficulty of the mailmans access to the apartments and the difficulty of identifying the right building.
I have lived in Avalon properties for over five years, and refuse to rent anywhere else for some very distinct reasons:1) The properties are clean, modern and updated. I have lived in three separate units, and each one surpasses my expectations in terms of amenities.2) Maintenance is quick, effective and cheerful at all times. I havent had an issue they werent able to solve in short order, and with minimal impact to my life.3) The leasing staff is phenomenal. I absolutely love them to death. Not only are they knowledgeable, considerate and exceptionally helpful, but they have a pretty incredible work ethic. This is coupled with the community events they put on every so often, which are above and beyond whats required as a property management firm.4) Price. Ive found that the price point for what I get at Avalon is far less than elsewhere.Until I buy a home, Avalon is definitely where Ill be hanging my hat. For those that will be good neighbors, I highly recommend it.
Amy Crawford is one of the main reasons I moved here! She provided superior customer service since day one. She was so patient and kind, followed up when she said she would, and was very thoughtful in her approach. The property itself is so beautiful. I love coming home. The neighbors have been friendly and the complex is very quiet. I am happy to call Avalon my home.
The Avalon is an awesome place to live!! Its close to Bella Terra, a short drive to the beach and has all the amenities you could imagine in a resort style living. Great place to host friends and family. We had a great time here and the staff was awesome, especially Maggie who is the supervisor. They are always there to help and go above and beyond to make sure you the best stay. Highly recommend!!
BEWARE!!! After one year of living here, they tried to increase my rent by nearly $200 per month. I was told that a 6% rent increase is standard for this residence. I would be very careful and think it through thoroughly before moving here. Please insert generic apology response without actually fixing the problem below.
I just renewed my lease here and my wife and I are so happy. This place is very elegant and peaceful to live. Close to tons of entertainment as well. The staff thats works here is very helpful and accommodating. Maggie is always a pleasure to work with. Since the day we moved in she has been fantastic.
We had car break in’s on Sunday 08/02/20. They smashed the window to my car. We have had a horrible experience with the lack of security. Twice before we have ran into drunk men sleeping inside the lobby, because that door does not shut properly at all and no one is patrolling the area. I wish someone would have told me this information before I moved in. It would have saved me the constant headache of living here.
This is our second year at Avalon Huntington Beach and it has been a wonderful experience. The office staff is really great. Justin in particular has always been extremely helpful and proactive. We appreciate the cleanliness, the modern feel and how well run the property is.
This is the worst place to live in HB. This supervisor Layla Madi is running this place like a prison. You have to make a reservation to use the pool and gym and you can only use it 3 times a week. If you are considering this place walk away. Plus you can’t even bring a friend with you to the pool if you do they will kick you out and ban you from using it. I never thought I would be paying 2,500 dollars to live in a prison. If I could I would put 0 stars.
I recently just moved in ( a week ago)I honestly couldnt be more thrilled to be a resident. The leasing office and staff are so professional and SO helpful. I know moving is stressful and a lot of us have questions via phone calls & emails and the ladies were so kind and helpful. I had the pleasure of working close with Kris and if i could give her 10 stars i would. When I got my keys, she took the time to actually show me the building and how things work. I have been renting from corporate residences for years and no one has taken the time to do that. I am super appreciative of the staff and so excited to be living there.I feel very safe as a female living thereThe parking is wonderful for residents and guestsThe amenities are beautiful and so well kept. The apartments are so clean and so luxurious.Thank you kris & Kerry for such a wonderful experience
I have been a resident here for 14 months. The apartment is beautifully designed and finished. The shared amenities are great, especially the salt-water pool. Any questions Ive had or issues Ive raised have been dealt with promptly by the office team. Maggie was the first person to show us our apartment and the complex and has been an amazing help ever since. She is always ready to listen and help. The maintenance team are excellent, theyre always cleaning and keeping the complex looking as it should. They respond to requests quickly. When we first moved in there was a lot of noise at night time from other residents using the facilities after hours. This has now improved due to management dealing with residents feedback. This is the second Avalon complex Ive lived in. I would highly recommend them for their service, amenities, and super staff.
Great, very new apartment building - good value for new, spacious apartment and clean building with great amenities (clean and almost always empty pool and hot tub, grills, rooftop, gym). The building staff is great. Whenever we had issues with anything, someone came up within 24 hours to fix it. The front desk (especially Maggie!) is friendly and extremely efficient.
We moved in to the Avalon around 4 months ago and have been loving it. The loft apartments are gorgeous, and I love being able to BBQ every night down by the pool and courtyard area. Maggie was extremely helpful in setting us up here and answering any of our questions, and the maintenance staff is always super friendly. Its right next to the 405 which makes getting around pretty easy, and its close to a few great restaurants/pubs/shops. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent!
If you want a 10% rent increase after a year of renting then this is the place for you! I was told that rent increases were typically 3-7% of your total rent(if they raise your rent). I received a renewal letter 2 months before end of my lease and my rent is being raised $226 a month(10% increase)on top of my current rent. I understand this is Orange County and rent increases are normal but an extra $2,700 a year is absolutely ridiculous for their “loyal tenants” as they state in the renewal notice. They say they try to balance the change in the market but there is no balance with a 10% increase. Also expect to pay the buildings water bill on top of your own homes water bill. Every month you receive a conservice bill for trash, water and sewage which general runs 50-55$. These charges for water on this bill are separate from what you pay for your own personal in home water usage. Lastly I want to mention the security. I’ve witnessed on multiple occasions homeless going through our garbage dumpsters because the loading dock gate isn’t shut overnight and there are also many instances where the gate to your secured parking is broken and stuck open for anyone to enter. I’ve also witnessed gang signs etched into common area doors by elevators. The apartment themselves are awesome if your able to overlook all the other issues.
Tristian was incredible on our tour of the Avalon apartments. My roomie and I had the most questions and he was patient and informative. We ended up getting plan B6. We appreciate everything that he did for us. Such a superstar
Great customer service. Thank you!
Awesome atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. Everything is brand new and beautifully designed. It comes with in-room washer/dryer, dish washer and refrigerator. There are three terrace areas, one in building were in and two in the main building. Perfect for BBQs and just gathering with friends. There is also a heated pool and the hot tub, which if needed caters to the physically impaired. They have chairs that can safely lower a person into the pool or hot tub; very cool! We are however still waiting on the completion of the Dog Park. My dog and I believe most dogs prefer doing their business on grass even if its fake grass, as apposed to gravel or dirt. At least there if finally a potty station which helps. Hopefully well have that dog park they promised soon. Guest parking seems plentiful, but the complex is only half-full so hopefully itll remain so. You can cancel your gym membership as this facility has a gym with everything you would need and the equipment is all brand new. The clubhouse, which has a pool table, shuttle board, refrigerator, sink, couches, and wide screen TVs looks perfect for a party. All that and an awesome staff, which gladly caters to your needs with a smile and great conversation.
I just moved here this week from The Residences at Bella Terra and I have never been happier...great staff, going to be better parking security, much cleaner, no crap hanging over the balconies like at Bella Terra. Resort living at its finest. In one week I have met 5 residents and thats more than I met the entire three years I lived at Bella Terra. Great friendly community. Looking forward to meeting more residents...so far so good! There was a blip moving in, where the dock was not open and the dock elevator was not working and I was not notified the day of my move, BUT to their credit the STAFF took care of me and helped me navigate an alternate route to move in and I was compensated for the extra time it took to move it...it all worked out to my advantage in the end...Friends that have visited so far, love my new place better than my other place...
I moved in a few months ago and love it except for one complaint. The walls are paper thin so I can hear every single footstep, doors/cabinets opening and shutting and chairs scooting around above me at all times. The people above me also have a dog that is always running around the apartment and it is so loud that at times it sounds like its happening in MY apartment. I havent had a solid night sleep since I moved in because its impossible to get peace and quiet and it wakes me up late at night. I do have to thank management for trying to help with this situation by reaching out to the neighbors to be more quiet, but unfortunately there has been no improvement. Unfortunately I am considering moving out because of this. I also had a lot of maintenance issues upon move in, but the maintenance team has been incredible on getting things fixed ASAP so props to them! The amenities are great. I love the fitness center and the pool area. Beautiful complex. Just wish the noise wasnt such a big issue that I may need to find a new place to live.
Dont ever live here!!! Run away fast and dont fall for the trap! This place charges way too much money for supposed luxury living. It is a complete lie.1. There is constantly dog poop and pee or some sort of nonsense in the stairwell, hallway, or elevator.2. The elevators take about a freaking year to get to you and they are always breaking3. They are constantly having the fire alarms accidentally go of or performing some sort of testing. They are painfully loud and force crying children and barking dogs out of their homes. They expect us to stay out of our homes for a day or two without any sort of compensation or alternate quiet space.4. They keep increasing the rent5. The leasing office does not really care about us tenants and if they do, they have a funny way of showing it. They are insensitive, unhelpful, and regurgitate policies back to you like robots instead of listen to problems in a human way and trying to help fix them. They are quick to threaten us with emails and letters on our doors to make sure we keep the community nice and free of concerns but dont keep it nice for usThe only person that tries and that I find helpful and pleasant for the most part is Maggie.6. There is no guest parking and they make our guests pay or constantly move the car. Absolutely no excuse for this! There should be free guest parking for as much as we pay.7.There is obnoxious music playing all the time. This is not Vegas or a club. We should be able to open our windows and patio doors and enjoy peace and quiet. We should be able to choose whether or not we want to listen to music and what type of music we want to listen to.Avalon, you should be ashamed of the way you are treating people and running this place. Total crooks! The only things I like about this place are the physical location and awesome maintenance crew who gets put through the ringer with these rude dog owners day after day.
The building is amazing and the staff is awesome! My wife and I got new jobs in the LA area and moved to Avalon because it is beautiful community and in an awesome location. We were in a bit of a time crunch for moving but the awesome staff at Avalon helped out big time and went above and beyond to help us get the keys and move in. We drove all the way from North Carolina and werent sure if we were going to make it in time before they closed for the day but Amy and Maggie are awesome and they came back after hours to let us get our keys so we could at least get into the building and didnt have to get a hotel for the night. Cant say enough praise for the staff and the amazing community that Avalon is and would 110% recommend this apartment complex to anyone!Jessica and Adam
Recently moved here from The Residences at Bella Terra. We are very pleased with the decision we made. Great staff and maintenance crew. The parking situation is well planned and guest friendly. Great environment.
I recently recommended Avalon to a family member, he moved in; the main reason is the service and attitude of Maggie Bolognini towards all tenants. 20 months ago, after checking (in person) about 15 apartment complexes in the area, the last one was Avalon, and the prior was Boardwalk, my daughters and I decided for Avalon. Even though Boardwalk has pretty good apartments and amenities, the employees attitude is awful. On the contrary, Maggie’s attitude and disposition to always help and resolve any type of issue, is outstanding. She is one of the main reasons we are still here and will recommend it to any one who is looking for a great person to deal with in addition of a nice apartment to live in.
**Buyer beware**Are you interested in staying at a place where you cant sleep because the management will do nothing about being terrorized by your neighbors loud pets and fights? How about paying $30K a year to not have any peace and quiet because theres effectively 0% sound proofing against the traffic below, which is legitimately quieter if youre in your car than in your apartment. If that sounds great then youve found your new home! :)BONUS: expect to lose your security deposit and have some wild claims about pet damage when you have no pets, just so they can get some extra money from you.
Please stay away from this place, the price is a rip off. I lived there for a year and half. New staff is very unfriendly and they will charge you and over charge you for everything. They also make up rules and change lease contract. Be aware. Check out many other places in HB will do you better.
Awesome community and super modern apartments! Management and staff are very courteous and prompt when needing assistance. Cant wait for the holidays and see what amenities they have to offer!
We are a family of 4 and LOVE living here. Very nice amenities and well maintained. Location!!! 1 min to the 405 and Bella Terra Mall. The staff is amazing, specially Maggie at the leasing office, she’s wonderful! Don’t think twice if you’re planing to move to HB area, this is the place to be.
I used to live in Avalon Studio City before. But for a few dollars more Avalon Huntington Beach is the best option so far. The building is newly built. Shopping plaza Bella Terra is within walking distance. Apartments are more spacious. 5-8 minutes drive to a beach. So its like living a resort, only its a everyday reality.
Each time we had a problem with plugging in some appliance or otherthe maintenance staff was great! It took a bit longer to get service this last time, but when she came, the worker was very polite and helpful so that maybe next time we can fix the problem ourselves. Love your maintenance workers!
Extremely nice and personable leasing agents and maintence team. New amenities, really nice pool and workout room, lots of outdoor grills for resident use, lots of lounging areas as well. My main complaint is that the floors and walls are thin so this complex can get noisy at times
Love living here. Staff is great. Live here if you want resort style living 7 minutes from the beach. Best bang for your buck.
**DO NOT rent from here**It is my first time living in an apartment complex. The parking for tenants has two gates, one of them being an arm gate that dropped on my car. I thought it had a sensor to know when a car would be there instead of it being timed to drop on my car.I took my issue with the leasing office only to get in an argument with the leasing office manager who was very unsympathetic when I told her what had occurred and mentioned it is obvious and should of known the arm would drop on my car when another car passes through. She mentioned this same issue had occurred one other time at the complex which is why they are getting a sign but there was no sign when this happened, nor was I told about the arm gate being timed to drop rather than stay up if a car is going through. They mention it is made this way so other people do not drive there car and sneak in... Well, that is why you need to have parking permits and pay someone to patrol parking instead of having this method. How do you expect everyone to know this? Obviously this is why the complex purchased a sign to notify people... Not everyone is aware of how certain gates operate...My experience here thus far has not been that great. Everyone at the leasing office is not really friendly, when being approached they act as if you are bothering them. This company should really look into hiring people who are customer service oriented because the amount of negative reviews on here, are true. This apartment complex company will say everything is in the fine print and do anything to take your money. They even make you sign for a cleaning fee prior to moving in should you decide to move out when your lease is up. The only way you can get out of it is if you right a letter 30-day before you lease is up.Avalon is an unexperienced business that does not take pride in customer service and seem to always be looking for a way to push all issues and faults on the tenants.
We absolutely love Avalon Huntington Beach! Office staff and maintenance staff are super friendly and helpful. Any issues or maintenance requests have always been delt with same day.
Very bad dog barking problem here. They dont seem to do anything about it. Expect some rude awakenings in the middle of the night.
Had a great experience, Amy was awesome good follow up. Helped us get the place. Would greatly recommend.
The leasing staff help me find the right apartment that fit my needs an then some ! 👍😊💯I am so happy that I moved here 🎉very nice people all the way to maintenance friendly nice atmosphere to live great staffAn Hey it is Huntington Beach 🏖Vincent Berry
Great place, very clean and it has a nice staff, especially Maggie the Manager. She is very pleasant and will work with you.
My wife and I have lived here for 4 months now and are really enjoying our apartment and the community. Having lived in several other properties over the last 5 years, I can say Avalon Bay ranks #1 in customer service and communication. We love the modern look our place and the polished concrete floors. The amenities are always well kept and available to use any time of the day. The gym has great equipment and lots of space. The best part about the complex is the location! Just a short walk to Bella Terra or Old World. No complaints here.
It was nice living here, even the inconvenience of the construction phase was tolerable but in the main building it is now the equivalent to living in an Animal House. The parties, total disrespect for the rules, bicycle stripped of accessories in the locked bicycle room, dogs off their leashes, no real place for animals to do their business which means that owners have them go in front of the building, in the garage, hallways, etc. Police called twice this week alone for two different neighbors. My idea of splurging on this very high priced apartment has been a complete waste of money. Big regret. Should have stayed in the original building.
The complex itself is awesome. Great amenities and staff. Just the tenants sometimes suck, but thats people for ya.
This is strictly about the security that is there. My family and I went to go eat at one of the businesses located below the apartments. We followed the signs to where we were allowed to park and when we entered, the gates at BOTH entrances were up. When we came back from eating about an hour later, the gates were down. We didnt have a ticket because the gates were up(no cars were in front of me) so we called the attendant, and that gentleman let us go. As we were leaving, another security guard accused us of having a ticket and not wanting to pay it and was saying the gates have been down since yesterday. First of all, the first 90 minutes are free and its like a $1 per 20 minutes after or something. His professionalism was deplorable and he wouldnt even listen to my husband and I about the gate. Check the cameras and he would have seen them UP.*future tenants park before the gate while shopping is inside the gate*
Dog friendly, NO Smoking 🚭 excellent, The Office has always been very pleasant and fills your needs when requested. Thanks to All Employee here 💚
Lived here for nearly two years. Staff is extremely unhelpful when it comes to things that are wrong with the apartment and when there are complaints. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. Most importantly, theyll steal all of your deposit and more at the end of your lease in whatever way they can. They lied and have stated that we had pet damage when there were 0 pets ever in our apartment, and are saying that we damaged the carpet when we let them know that the carpet was already damaged upon move-in in which they wouldnt replace for us at the beginning of our lease. Now they want to charge us over $1k for it. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Avalon replied to my last comment saying someone will reach out and no one has reached out to me yet and it has been over a week already.Seriously this place doesn’t know how to do customer service. Horrible.
Hi sir am interested, how can I contact you??
I was able to resolve my Issues with Avalons so I decided to update this review.I will still not award more Stars and I will still let this stand as a warning to anyone considers renting or breaking a lease there. Here is what happend:1) we had a seven month lease and got a month free rent when we signed our first lease.2) The month before our lease ended we talked to the leasing office about staying in our apartment and they updated our lease.3)They also change the dates on the concession we received with our first lease. (probably a mistake but if intentional this is really bad)4)we had to move out less than 2 month before our extension ended.5) we paid a lease break fee.6) we got a final statement claiming most of our deposit was used for repairs7) We were asked to pay a concession reversal of about 1200 dollars. This was super weird for to me. First of all our concession should have been done after 7 month when the original lease ended and secondly almost 1200 when you leave less than two month before your lease ends seemed wrong.Avalon called (harassed) me every day about when i plan to pay and i asked them every day if it is normal policy for Avalon to change the terms of an agreements after the fact and how the numbers comes about.I did not get any answers. They said they can not do anything about that. When i asked to speak to a senior manager they hung up or plainly lied about having the manager call me back. They were extremely unfriendly and absolutely unsupportive.I guess i got frustrated too after a while on the phone with them however is think i always stayed polite.Anyway, one day before the due date i got on the phone with Silvia.Silvia was the first person who after some attempts of explaining that made no sense at all agreed that something was odd here. She sent an note back to accounting to recalculate and suddenly we only owed 200 something dollar. Thank you Silvia for listening, you personally get 5 stars!Even though thats still not what the original agreement was I take it just so i am done with Avalon once and forever,Other than that:+Nice Pool+Nice Gym-Thin Walls-lots of street noise.-Renters that let their dogs piss in the hallways and elevators-Useless security system (key fobs)-Constantly broken garage gates that do not recognize light motorcycles.Summary: Never ever again.
My husband and I together with our two young daughters moved to Avalon HB from the east coast in September of 2017 and have loved every minute. We toured three other apartment complexes around the area and are so happy we chose Avalon, mainly for the reasons belowLeasing Staff: Maggie was our first point of contact and she has been amazing from the get go. She has been our go-to person for everything we need and is always responsive and eager to help in every way she can. It was a four month process before we finally made the move from the east coast. You can imagine how stressful that was! Maggie helped make that transition so much easier. Everyone in the leasing office is so nice and friendly.Maintenance Staff: We’ve logged a couple of minor service issues that were attended to very promptly. What really impressed us was when our fridge broke on Thanksgiving Day. Within 30 minutes of logging the issue, one of the maintenance staff came to our apartment with a replacement fridge. We were even offered compensation for any items that may have spoiled, which wasn’t necessary because that’s how quickly they responded! We see the maintenance staff around the building all the time and they are always so approachable.Facilities: The facilities here are top notch and everything is always clean. My husband loves the modern gym and my 3 year old daughter loves the salt water swimming pool (we have yet to try the hot tub). We have used the BBQ grills several times now and enjoy hanging out in the recreation room.Location and Community: The location is perfect for us. The 405 being so close makes my husbands commute to work that much more convenient. I love that we can walk to Costco, Whole Foods, Bella Terra and surrounding shops. Since moving to Avalon HB, there has been a couple of parties hosted by management staff which we really appreciate because not only have we met several of our neighbors - a few have become our good friends too.If you’re thinking about moving here, I highly recommend it!
Called to report that someone had defecated in the hot tub on a Sunday. Operator told me that would warrant an after hours respose. More than 3 hours after the call, no one came to clean, no one came to post a sign to not enter...nothing. I left after 3 hours so no telling when they came. Received and email the next afternoon stating the service was completed...I would hope it didnt take that long. Not a crazy deal but definitely warranted a response. Not the first time Ive experienced a maintenance issue here.
I am not happy with Avalon at all. The rent is so high and it is a total waste of money. The construction noise makes you crazy, it starts from very early in the morning and countinues like non-stop. You see the urine of the dogs all over the place, the floor of the elevators are filled with the dogs urine, and the drops continues in the hallways. In the elevator, you have to find a dry spot to stand on and hold your breath because the smell is disgusting. We have actually got used to this situation unfortunately as it happens a lot. The fire alarm is another story, it is so sensitive that it gets triggerred quickly. I remember all the residents had to leave the building at one AM for almost half an hour until they figured it out how to turn it off. At nights especially during the weekend, you hear drunk boys and girls shouting and screaming so loud that they dont let you go back to sleep. Also there are 2 motorbikes which make a very crazy noise on purpose when they leave or get in the parking lot. ( 6 AM and 11 PM is the time they commute. I wish we have never lived in here.
Avalon Huntington Beach - 5 Star Apartment LivingFirst of all, the staff at Avalon Bay is amazing. I have lived at the Avalon complex for three months now, and there is nothing in this community that is not near perfect. Maggie, Devona, and Amy in the office were so helpful during the application and move in process and always a pleasure to talk with. Every issue I had during my application and move-in was no problem, they addressed any concern or problem I had .1). My couch was too big to fit in the elevator during my move in, with no help available until the next day to take it up 5 flights of stairs and the office staff found a secure room for the night and locked it up. It was such a relief, as my couch was very expensive and I couldnt risk leaving elsewhere .2). I was asking Maggy about having the ability to adjust the music in the weight room during the evening hours because I was in there alone, it was pre-programmed and was not adjustable and I said thats ok its not that big of a deal. Maggie called me about 5 days later and said they were having the technician that works on the music system provide the ability to adjust the volume at night...which was unheard of, with staff following up on something so minor that I did not officially request. which makes my experience here as wonderful as it is. The staff is very energetic and responsive to all your concerns minor or major, meeting the needs of all who live in this community. This is just two of the many things the office staff has did to assist in my transition into the Avalon community.Secondly, the maintenance staff, security, and housekeeping I cant say enough for. The community is spotless, the floors are always spotless, the trash rooms are always clean and are never backed up so you cant dispose of your trash. The fitness room, roof top terraces, indoor lounge, and the pool areas are always immaculate. This is important to me in a community because I can be a little OCD when it comes to cleansiness. A couple more things that popped out at me versus other communities; There is always someone doing touching up painting in the hallways and any of the community rooms or areas. I moved in and had a few scuffs in the hallway from my mattress and furniture and two days later they were re-painted. On the following Monday after I moved in, I had the maintenance and housekeeping staff knock on my door and ask if I wanted my door touched up, if I needed any touch-up paint, and to make sure everything was working correctly. (It Is Great). Everything is always in working order, the fireplaces, the grills, the terrace kitchen and outdoor amenities are always in working order. The salt water swimming pool and hot tub are very enjoyable. The pool is always clean and when you use the hot tub it feels like the one you would have at your own home. No alcohol bottles laying around or cigarette butts, the water is super clean and well maintained. The residents at the community has a lot to doo with the cleanliness of these areas as well. Its residents respect the community and the residents respect one another. Finally my apartment, I have a 5th floor 1 bedroom with a loft and I couldnt be more excited to call this my home. It felt like new when I moved in, I could tell some of the carpet was new from the smell and when I was using the state of the art appliances some of them still had thew clear protection tape on the panel so I could tell they were brand new. I just love the layout of the unit, I am so excited everyday to get home from work and enjoy where I live. The loft is large enough for a full size bed, tv, and has a large size closet. We use it for a relaxing tv lounging room where we can hang out and watch TV at night and guest can sleep and have there own bedroom with privacy. The master bedroom, bathroom, closet is a really cool layout with a roomy walk in closet.I highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a community in the area. The Avalon Huntington Beach community is a great place to live.
I have been a resident at the Avalon in Huntintion beach for 4 months now and have absolutely Loved my Experience thus far!! The units are beautiful and the prices are fair. But above all the staff at the Leaseing office are the real winners. Maggie Bolognini & Amy Crawford have been so patient with me. They helped me set everything up!! From direct deposite rental payments to Parcel pending for my Amazon addiction. They make it a point to make my life as stress free as possible. Im so greatful for these women. If your looking for a beautiful, peaceful place near the beach to hang your Hat. Definitely look into the Avalon in Huntintion beach!!
This has been worst experience Ive ever had at Avalon community. The customer services non- existent at all levels. The parking gates are horrible not to mention you have to pay 9 dollars a day to pay in the quest parking. in addition the security is not acceptable my car has been damaged and I reported to the office nothing was done. And I have had multiple problem with the Aptartment when I moved in the the washer was leaking water thru the walls and the had to replace whole section of the wall. One of the worst thing is the dog poop and urine all over no one cleans anything. Wouldnt recommend this Apt complex over priced and no customer service. Esspically Kerry the main manager she provides no customer service!!!!!
Just moved in last month, prior to signing the contract to moving in, we were told I was able to park in the guest area while my sister takes the main parking for residents. We have one parking space and if we wanted another, it would cost an extra $100, which is at the moment full with a waitlist. There was no alternative option for us residents. We are given 5 tickets which gives you 10 hrs of parking. How does that work out for 2nd residents ? Not even guests can come and relax for 2-3 hours because only 90 mins is free and after theres a charge. No free street parking nearby, weve been picking up friends from their homes because of the parking issue. Stressed and now I have to worry as a resident as to where to park. I hope this parking situation gets resolved. Guest parking is basically empty during the day and I cant find a place to park near to the apartment.
My wife, daughter and I moved to HB a year ago and were so fortunate to find Avalon HB. The location is awesome with being next door to Bella Terra shopping, Costco, Old World Village and a beautiful community college across the street and close to the 405. 5 miles from the beach and the weather is incredible. The amenities in the complex are first class; well appointed fitness center, pool/hot tub, several outdoor cooking stations and recreation lounge with several big screen TVs, pool table, shuffle board and ping pong. A couple of areas to read/study and great roof top areas for relaxing and socializing. The apartment community is second to none with beautiful apartments with patios, washer/dryers, all appliances and nice flooring. This facility is very secure for an apartment complex; my wife and daughter feel very safe living here. The staff is always visible during the day and a security guard is around the complex over night. The latest technology controls access to the complex and we have always found the other tenants respectful of each other. The best part of the community is the staff of Avalon HB! Always professional and willing to help make your living experience the best it can be. Any need you have can be addressed by going to the leasing office or submitting an on-line maintenance request. The maintenance staff is very responsive to taking care of any issue and can always be seen keeping the facility in top condition. We are very happy with our decision to make Avalon HB our home and just signed another year lease!
I just moved here a week ago and have absolutely no complaints (I am very picky too!). I moved here from across the street at The Artisan Apartment Homes which was a complete disaster- too much to explain for a years worth of misery. Avalon at HB is exceptionally impressive, so clean, new, and quiet. It has everything I need, even a nice gym which I spend most of my days at. I work from home so its nice to be able to go to the pool, or meeting rooms, etc. to access free wifi if I am tired of being cooped up in my apartment. The staff is the best I have ever encountered. So helpful and nice! I want to live here for years to come, I may even switch to a larger apartment in the future! Right now I have a studio which is PERFECT size and the same size as the 1 bedroom I had at Artisan. Very open and has lots of natural light, not to mention my OWN washer and dryer in unit :). I am so happy here and wouldnt change anything about my decision to move to Avalon HB. Thank you AVALON!
Love Avalon at Huntington Beach apartment.. great location, nice apartments, great staff
Good location and nice neighbors and office team super friendly!!
It was very quiet here, so much more than the last Avalon Irvine complex I resided in. Things get done here in a fair time span. The dog owners are conscientious! (There is always those one or two that are lazy about picking up after their pets). The elevator FOBs are still ridiculous, and inefficient, since they frequently make the user wait for the doors to close before pushing the button. Ease of access for uninvited guests is still easy. The FOBs only make it hard for well-paying residents. These ridiculous FOBs also make ANY residential deliveries impossible or insanely time consuming. No designated delivery area, big enough for turning a truck around, why wouldnt they have designed such an area, since this complex is still newer. In such a mid-rise complex, deliveries are a must for many! The delivery persons all need a quicker access system, and reserved parking areas. The powers that be, namely the rich developers that never have to live in the buildings they develop, didnt even bother to put in proper entrance driveways for residents. Each and every turn into and out of the complex to enter the designated garage for resident parking, is done at high risk for collisions. With a NO LEFT TURN DMV regulation sign at the driveway entrance, is quite a liability for the complex and tenants. Parking is far too challenging for those that are disabled. Too few of these spaces are available, and those that exist are used for storage of an extra car! Nothing has been done to correct this. Now even guest parking is a problem, and a limited number of passes must be picked up prior to use, by the resident, as if they see into the future, as to how many friends come by to visit, oh thats right, its not a user-friendly complex. Storage units are spread all over, and assigned parking & storage units are not in close proximity to units. What were the designers thinking of? The construction workers, have made these apartments with good quality, and interesting floor plans. Amenities are nice as well. This complex is clean and well maintained. Hallways and elevators need a lot more regular attention as does the trash system. There are people going through overflowing trash dumpsters placed outside, as they await pick up by the trucks. This places identity theft at the top of the list of inconveniences of living here. And not to forget, that the trash chute doors get locked when the pile below is too big, FOR WHAT? Perhaps the attention to the number of trash pick ups sorely needs to be addressed, especially when the odors emanate from the trash room on each floor. We pay enough for twice-daily pick ups, if that is what itll take! To walk over trash already in the trash chute rooms, to push the green open button that many are unaware of, is also ridiculous. Tenants have trash! Its the nature of humans! Why this is a constant problem? It must be money, so this is a good pit stop on your way to somewhere else. We like living here a little less, since the price of doing so leaves much out of the equity in doing so. Rents are not as low as they could be for what we get here, if it werent for the amazing in-unit appliances!
Your maintenance rep solved my problem quickly and was very helpful.
Day one: We moved into a 2 bedroom w/ loft, too bad the apartment was dirty. There was dirt, dust, wood shavings in all the cabinets. The window that was at least 20 feet up the wall still had the construction sticker, maintenance had to bring in an extension ladder to remove it. Our balcony wasnt completely painted, again maintenance had to come and finish painting. The hallway cabinets and some in the kitchen had paint on them, maintenance had to come remove that. The stairs leading to the loft had paint on them, nothing could be done. The response from the office, she normally does a really good job. They were referring to the maintenance lady that makes an apartment ready for move in.Almost 2 months in: Our air conditioner started leaking water onto the hallway floor, the maintenance guy that came up was not qualified to touch or fix our AC, he then told us the supervisor wouldnt show up that day because he had already gone home. My wife had to place a bucket underneath.Start of month 3: We were infested with ants, thats impressive, our apartment was on the 5th floor. They came and cleaned up the dead ants with windex. We ended up fighting with ants until we moved out.Move out: We are now being charged for things they can not provide poof for. They charged us to clean the apartment, I would have been okay with paying them to clean my apartment if they hadnt decided to tack on additional items. They gave me a dirty apartment, am I not supposed to return the apartment in the way I had received it? They would like to charge me for pet damage. I asked for proof, pictures are not required apparently. I left the keys in the apartment, I could not find a drop box, so now Im being charged an extra day in the apartment? I dont think so. We are being charged an additional $383.00, which any way you run the numbers doesnt add up.BEWARE, WHEN YOU MOVE OUT THEY WILL TRY AND SCREW YOU! THANK YOU AVALON FOR ADDING MORE STRESS TO OUR LIFE!
Fast, courteous & efficient! Great maintenance crew!
I have to move out after being here for 16 months. Im sorry to leave as I like the management staff. They have always paid attention to my concerns, and comments and do as they say they will do.
OK
Hello!I would recommend this complex to everyone as it has a distinguished location close to the beach, near the Main 405 freeway and also beside the Bella Terra Mall.
