My strong advice will be to stay away from this company and find another vendor if you want the warranty to be honored. We built our covered patio from them and first had difficulties in getting it completed in time as the workers will promise but will not show up and later when I talked to them I was told that Ali asked them to work some other place. They have subcontractors who they assign randomly to different jobs. Ali and his company are the worst communicators in the world. You can leave voicemails and send text messages and if you have paid them the full amount, they will not return the phone call or text messages. As a vendor even if you are not going to take care of the issue, just for human courtesy at least respond to multiple calls and say that you will not honor the warranty you promised while getting the business. We have a crack developed on the tiles within a warranty period of one year. I sent pictures/videos to them but Colony builders have neither addressed the issue nor have responded to my numerous requests. Having spent more than $30 K with them, I strongly feel we would have been better off going with another vendor. I have shared my feedback with my neighbors who wanted to build a patio but felt my responsibility to share it with everybody out there after waiting for 7 months for Colony builders to respond to my numerous messages.I just hope this helps all the people looking out for a contractor to build their dream patio or remodeling their house.

The job went well, despite the delay with all of the rain that we had. The crew from the concrete pour to the framers were all very professional and hard workers, that know their trades and it showed up very well. I am very happy that I chose Colony Builders for this project and would definitely use them again anytime.

Colony builders built a patio with a stained ceiling and replaced all the Hardy siding, windows and painted. The quality is excellent. Ali (Owner) came out personally and surveyed the project and even recommended some ideas that made it look even better. Ali is a true pleasure to deal with. Unlike any other contractor Ive worked with. When he says hes coming over at 1:00 pm hes there 10 minutes early. Other contractors didnt even show up for their survey appointment.Hes stays on top of the job through completion and even had some corrections made because he thought it could look better which is just what you want in a contractor. His standards of quality are as high or higher than the home owner. Couldnt be happier!!!!!

After waiting for years I was finally able to get siding done along with some exterior mods. They were very friendly every time we spoke. They answered my calls promptly, resolved issues with confidence, were on time every day, used good quality materials, and basically offered more for my money than anyone else. I have no problem dealing with their workers when they build my back patio. They handled the job well. Whatever we request they listen and do what makes the customer happy and satisfied. The workmanship was of good quality. We did not regret choosing Colony Builders. I give good commendation to the group who did the roofing and concrete flooring. Good job guys.

I wanted to write everything that went wrong on my project, but there is a limit to the length of a review.I do not feel as though my project was given the care and dedication experienced by others. I did not appreciate any of the efforts made by Ali to correct the issues. He came across as dismissive of my concerns and the problems that came up. He also had an excuse for everything so that it was not his fault.The best part of the project was when they finally left my house for good.The worst part of the project is what I have to look at everyday. I keep finding little things that were not done correctly a year later.I would not recommend Colony Builders to anyone, ever.

We’ve used Colony Builders for several remodeling projects as we did a full home remodel in stages. Our last project was to give our older home a new open concept layout. We had our initial meeting and Ali got everything done to our satisfaction as always. We’ll definitely use them again if anything else comes up that we decide to do. We just had an extended covered patio done and we are very happy with it . It turned out as what we wanted, beautiful patio with stamped concrete floor. Guy answered on the phone when I call them today, and was transfer to Lydia. I was planning on doing a house project and started the first item on my list. She said the job is too light and should asked for an handyman. So, I then call another company which was also given a good review, and I have make an offer to do the job for $25,000. I dont know why Colony builders thinks that the job is too small for them? I didnt even finish telling them what need to be done.

Colony has roofed my house, tiled my floors, installed custom bookcases, added a sunroom & more. All the work has been top notch, and at a reasonable price. This is the only review I’ve ever done for anyone or any service, but I can’t say enough good things about them.

5 stars! We hired Colony Builders to add a 700 square foot addition on the front of our home. Now our house is finally the size it should have been from the get-go! Colony did a fantastic job... all of their workers are very professional and friendly. The owner Ali Zare is a super-nice guy and is easy to work with. I recommend Colony Builders without reservation, and I plan to use them again for our Kitchen remodel.

This is our third time hiring Colony Builders and they treat us like family. They did a siding job at our last house when we lived in Stafford. We were very happy with their crew and the house looked great. The next time we used them they added two patio covers to the house. One on the side and the other in the back by the pool. They came out and they knew just what we wanted and it came out beautiful! I was blown away by their work. After five years living with these excellently designed and implemented patios we decided to expand a little more and enlarge our back patio so we can have an outdoor living room with a fireplace and mounted television. They are going to install Austin brick on the fireplace and the covered patio space will also give us room for a dining area as well. The design is awesome and it is going to give us so much privacy. We think when its done we are going to have our dream space and are going to enjoy it well into our future retirement in our forever home! Thank you Colony Builders. We had a great experience with Colony Builders! The owner, Ali, came out and did our quote initially. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He had good suggestions about things we did and didn’t need, especially to get the project within our budget. It’s obvious he takes pride in his company and has built a reputation for doing high quality work. We had a covered patio added on to the back of our house. They started the project very quickly after our HOA approved, and Colony Builders took all the stress out of that process as well. They did a fabulous job on the patio. It’s very well built and looks like part of the original structure of our house. They did such a great job that we also had them replace our siding with Hardie plank. We’re very pleased with that as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this company. They always took our calls and any questions or issues we had they resolved quickly with no hassle. They always showed up when they said they would. I will definitely be using them again!

Colony Builders installed a Patio cover addition to my home. I am very satisfied with the results and my friends are impressed with it too. I feel that I got a great value. Mr. Zare was very knowledgeable. He provided me with good advice on how to fine tune the details of my project to ensure it would be both practical and look good. The crews performing the carpentry, roofing, painting, staining and electrical were are competent and left the work site cleaner than I expected. I would use Colony Builders again for future improvements.

The price was a great price. You get what you pay for, a year later I realize I can feel the sun. The whole point in getting new windows, was so I could open my drapes and not feel the heat in the summer time. I would not recommend NT windows. I was told there was a barrier, if that was the case I wouldnt be able to feel the sun.

Colony Builders helped my parents repair their home after Hurricane Harvey. The home had significant damage, and Ali and everyone at Colony Builders were outstanding to work with in every way. Colony Builders inspected the house, explained what repairs were needed and did quality work for a reasonable price. We plan to use Colony Builders anytime we need major home repairs or have home remodeling projects.

Would not recommend this company but I did like the project manager they assigned to me, Sam. He worked with me answered all my calls and came out regularly once they finically started the patio.Started in mid Feb and not completed until August first or second. It was not a pleasant experience. Make sure ALL the specifics you requested are written on your contract and make sure each specific is itemized line by line before you sign.

Please add me to the list of dissatisfied customers. Colony Builders built a room addition. The rod in the closet fell. I had to beg him to repair the rod. Needless to say, the job is half done because the wall did not get painted. The bathroom needs to be finished off. Good builders take pride in their work. They normally want to do a good job because they know that their best form of advertisement is from a satisfied customer. I cannot recommend this company because they do not do a job to the finished product. However, there was not a problem asking for payment. I did not know at that time I should have kept at least $1000-2000 until everything was completed as should be.

We chose Colony Builders for our patio cover/outdoor kitchen project and could not be more happy. Being an engineer i am very picky about any construction being done at my home. Their construction manager Sam was attentive and checked up on the job multiple times each phase. We did have one problem with the placement of a downspout we did not like but Sam had it taken care of free of charge. Overall Colony Builders performed above our expectations and we will most likely use them for our future projects around the house. The design for our kitchen they came up with was superior to all other companies while still coming in on the lower side of the bids i received.

We recently had a new patio addition added to the back of our house. We were very pleased with the attention to detail and quality of work that Colony Builders did. The custom look and color is beautiful and matches our exiting house color. The stamped concrete looks amazing! They even wired in the electricity for my outdoor ceiling fan and TV, and busted out my old concrete slab! Fantastic!! Then I called the project super Sam and they promptly came out and professionally installed my fan. My wife noticed a little spattered concrete on the ceiling after the slab was poured. Sam had one of the workers out the next day to clean it up and touch up with paint. Great service! In addition, all of the workers took great care not to trample any of my wifes plants. They laid down plywood sheets when wheel borrowing the concrete in so it would do minimal damage to my lawn and cleaned up the project site daily. Sam was a pleasure to work with and always kept me informed via text or phone as to the progress of the on going project. Did I mention the price? CB came in several thousand $$ below any of the other four estimates I got. Not once did they try to gouge me for any extra cash. What is quoted in the contract is what I paid. And I did not make the last payment until I was completely satisfied. Great customer service. Thanks Colony Builders!

Set an appointment with these folks that they did not keep. They also did not call to cancel. Their excuse was that they left 2 voicemails on our voicemail system that has never missed a voicemail; yet, it missed 2 of theirs. Cant speak for their work sine I couldnt get them to show up. Good luck.

We had used Colony Builders for a patio cover before so we have them a call to see if they could help. Our home is even better than before and they did it all at a reasonable price! We got one other estimate and colonies price was by far cheaper and we even added granite countertops, custom showers, and this really nice tile wood flooring. There are some points that can be improved regarding the house keeping, but I understand that some mess is expected during constructions. All the small issues I had during the process I was able to solve talking to Mr. Ali. I will definitely use and recommend this service again !

The snobbiest woman called me and informed me that the decision maker needed to be there so the MISTER of the house had to be present. SERIOUSLY! I divorced the MISTER of the house 10+ years ago because he doesnt pay his bills. Thats all I needed to know. I told her no mister and I didnt need one. She faked a computer problem and said shed call me back. No call. No way Id hire them. They evidently dont deal with women. There are some single chicks who are decision makers! It is 2018! LOL

We were looking to extend our patio and find a way to create some shade in our backyard, which is directly hit by the sun in the afternoon. Admittedly, we werent sure how to best solve the problem.We brought in five contractors for ideas and quotes. Most offered a few ideas and left in about 20 minutes. Ali from Colony Builders spent 2 hours helping us design and think through a plan that would solve our issue. He worked within our budget (no upselling) and his pricing was very competitive with others.The project has gone great so far, with the only delay being our HOA. The crews are professional and work hard. Ali and Sam have both visited to check-in on the work. I would definitely recommend Colony Builders to others and will post photos once the work is completed.

Was not impressed with Colony Builders at all and all we had them do was come out to our home for an estimate. We are looking at doing 3 projects in our home. These 3 projects will probably end up running us 150K. At that kind of money, I would think, or at least expect a little effort put forward from the gentleman that came out to meet with us. If you know EXACTLY what you want, they MAY be the company for you. I am not sure as I do not have any build out experience with them. However trying to get any design suggestions out of the salesman was like pulling teeth. I was told over and over, its up to you mamn. And I would say, I realize that, but you are the professional and have seen tons of jobs like this one, what would you recommend. They had NOOOO recommendations whatsoever. After the salesperson told me I needed to do my homework, I politely ended the meeting and asked him to leave my home. Not impressed at all!

Dont Trust and Stay Away from Colony Builders.Their poor quality work has caused serious damages to our property. And, they never came back to fix what they said they were going to fix.My new roof started to leak weeks after they were replaced by Colony Builders, the put Tarp but did not come back to removed the Tarp. Roof vents were not installed correctly causing damages to ceiling. They removed a large piece form the breezeway leaving a large hole causing all sort of creatures to come in to our attic.

Had a covered patio built in 2018.Negatives:Very disappointed that material shortcuts were initially taken. Bricks were thrown into my foundation piers to save concrete, which was explained to me when I asked the crew chief, ran out of radiant barrier sheathing so regular OSB was used, roof vent installed backwards, 1/2 anchor bolts were going to be used instead of the manufacturers base recommendations of 5/8 (not constructions fault as the dwgs showed 1/2). After finding bricks in my pier holes, I took off alot of work to supervise construction daily, very frustrating to make sure it was being built correctly. Luckily, I caught this, and issues were resolved on the spot. If going with Colony, I would suggest supervising them daily, and make sure they dont throw bricks in your foundation hole. Quickrete concrete had 6inches of standing water on top in my pier pour, I thought a sprinkler line broke.Fortunately, when the pier was redone because of the bricks, I had each bag mixed separately to the correct water/cement ratio per Quickrete instructions in my wheel barrow, then poured. Electrician was going to wire my light switches outside, but luckily I was there to instruct them to be installed inside. Ive never seen light switches installed outside before in residential construction. Electrician was very friendly and accommodated everything, and put the switches inside no questions asked.Positives:Larry in sales was very knowledgeable and made sure changes were executed. Architect who made the dwgs picked up all my comments. Colony was very receptive in making changes/updates to the contract, unlike new home builders. Carpentry framing was on point, hurricane strapping installed per windstorm requirements, and stain finishing came out really nice. Seamless gutters came out excellent, and the electrician was very nice, paint matches home perfectly. In the end, I had to miss alot of work to supervise, but luckily all issues were resolved after catching the issues, and now I have a well built patio that I will enjoy forever.
