Three days a week may not be enough time to get any work done. I have been waiting on my watch since June 2021 for a stem repair. I chose this place because of the repair quality emphasized in the reviews but I would have rather a more timely repair since Im not as comfortable with knowing the state of this business to the point I would leave a highly valued piece of timekeeper for such a long period of time. You may want to consider the turnaround time relative to other repair businesses.
I had 5 watches that each needed batteries and Mr. K knocked it out so quickly. The prices are very reasonable. He has a giant Swatch watch on the wall, that was the best part😉
Mr. K is awesome!Quality work, great prices, I have been his client for 6 years, there is nobody better than him.I am always back with batteries or repairs, etc.. .
Old school watch makers are sadly a dying breed, so to find someone like Mr. K in my own city is a gem-like discovery. I bought a vintage seiko recently, and dropped by to have him examine the movement. To my surprise, he did it immediately that same visit and only charged me $10 for an oil lubrication and gasket replacement. I was stunned by his honest assessment and incredibly fair pricing. To those that visit, please wear a mask as he is very old, and please be patient. It is easy to tell that this is a person that is passionate about his craft above all.
I dont often feel compelled to leave reviews but this occasion was certainly an exception. Took 3 watches in to replace batteries and they had the keen eye to see that I needed one resized. All done while I waited, though the time passed quickly amongst the many laughs we shared and taking in all the wonderful artwork and artifacts. I dont usually wear watches but now Im inclined to buy more just to come back. Truly a gem in Houston.
I’ve been going to Mr. K for about 30 years. He has worked on our Movado’s, Rolex watches, etc. He has moved a few years ago but as long as he’s somewhere in Houston, I’ll hunt him down. Heard he’s retiring end of the year. Sadly there are fewer and fewer craftsmen like him around. Thank you Mr. K for all you do.
Mr. K and staff was great. I more watches to have repaired. So once Im in Houston again Mr. K will get my business again. Great Job. Thanks
Great job and very cheap price. Battery replacement was only $5! I will say please wear mask when you come here, Mr. K is very old and has oxygen on so I know he has respiratory issues and getting sick will be a serious problem for him if he catch anything from customers coming here.
This is the best experience I’ve ever had with a watch shop, parking is easy, not too busy early in the morning and I was able to get in and out in less than 10 minutes for a battery replacement. It cost $5 for the replacement and I also found a gorgeous watch for more formal events for only $45. For as long as I live in Houston, this will be the only place I ever go to get watches repaired.
I wish I had more than two thumbs to stick up for this review.Of the many already-published reviews, none mention Mr. Ks stellar watch storage services. I entrusted them with two watches for over two years (mid 2018 to late 2020) and I can say with confidence that I am 100% satisfied. The storage service, however, is not advertised, but the trick is to leave the watches with Mr. K, pretending they need service/repair. Additionally, the job must be more complex than merely changing a battery—in my case, I asked to have the crowns replaced. It makes not one difference if your watch is actually in need of repair or not; just think of them as magic words to unlock this particular service.Mr. K did not charge me a dime (!!) for holding my two watches for this long, and while there truly are no free lunches, the only real cost to me was phoning them every several months to get status updates.Youll know your watches are safe indefinitely when Mr. K responds likewise with the magic words, should be ready in about two weeks. I retrieved my watches two years later in the exact same condition they were in when I had dropped them off. Unbelievable. Its no wonder they dont advertise this service because theyd go out of business if they did.Its a shame you cant find honest custodians of anything these days, but luckily Mr. K is still in business and I hope they stay around as long as possible.I will probably never need to store my watches anywhere ever again, but if I do, you can bet that Mr. K is the only place Ill even consider.
Very knowledgeable & nice couple that run the shop. Great attention to detail.
Very friendly atmosphere and expert knowledge. Definitely bringing more watches to this location.
I would give a lot more stars if possible! Super friendly and helpful to customers. Helped me fix a stuck cap for free and replaced a battery for only $5. Really knowledgable in watches and was definitely worth the 30 minute drive! 11/10 would recommend!
Battery replacement and extra links added for watch band. Quick, honest, and DONE RIGHT. Worth the oh-so-slight inconvenience to go in an office building. We showed up as he opened. The wait area was full when we left
Excellent service! Everyone working was very friendly and attentive.
I took my 1990s Omega Seamaster chronometer model for a routine service at Mr. K’s. The staff was very kind and professional, and the rate was very reasonable. However, the watch previously kept great time (losing one or two seconds per day at most). I requested that, if anything, I wanted the watch to run a little fast after its maintenance (gaining one or two seconds per day, rather than losing them). When I received the watch back this week, it was losing over 30 seconds per day! I am concerned about the quality of service that was done, considering that (a) I explicitly requested that my watch run fast and (b) the timekeeping problem is now significantly worse after service than it was before. It also took longer than anticipated to receive my watch back - I wasn’t counting, but I am positive that it was over two months - but this part is much less of an issue in my mind since I know Mr. K is a one man operation. I am overall unsatisfied with my experience, as my watch now needs additional repair as a result of its time spent here.
Mom and Pop shop with good service and great rates. My new go to for watch strap/bracelet issues....and maybe more.!
Mr. K and his wife offered great service .
This guy is the best! Awesome staff and not expensive.. i highly recommend that Houston patron his business while it last...
I don’t ever do reviews but this is the one time I believe a review has to be shared. At first i was looking for different places, i’m a very picky person when it comes down to fine detail. So at first i went through the reviews & the negative comments had me thinking a bit twice but i didn’t overthink. I took my watch & they gave a very affordable price compared to other places who tried to charge me $55 for battery replacement & $70 for crystal repair. Patience is key with Mr.K, did such an amazing job on my watch making it look brand new. One of the most honest people to work with, i plan on taking my second watch here pretty soon.
My collection of Hamilton pocket watches are gems of history’s past as they are all 1940 and before. I treasure these passionately and finely found a soul who equally feels the same. He is meticulous with every detail, fixing, caring for and preserving these relics. From cleaning to repair you can not find a better caretaker for your priceless treasure than Mr. K!
Excellent service! Change 4 watch batteries while I waited. $5 a battery. Best price in town!
Mr. K is the best . Always bring my watches to Mr. K. Reasonable price, fast and friendly service.
Very efficient and very reasonable
Initially, I went to another watch repair shop to address my watch problem. It was going to cost $167 to repair it and $500 to service it with Rolex.I wasn’t sure what to think, so I headed to Mr.K’s. When he had time to look at it, he told me, “There was a piece that somehow got flipped over, so I readjusted it. Here you go.” I asked how much I owed, and he and his wife said, “nothing, you don’t owe anything.” It’s been working beautifully ever since. They’re so honest. I’m so thankful to have found them and will definitely return.
Small business inside a busy office building. Take the elevators to the 7th floor and turn right it’s the last door at the end of the corridor. Check their new timings before you go. Got all my watches fixed at a fair price.
My opinion: the most honest watch repair spot in Houston with a helpful staff great pricing.
Quickly evaluated my watch and replaced the battery for next to nothing! This place is definitely where you should take any watch that is special to you. The people are nice and even better EVERYONE was wearing a mask.
Excellent, professional and friendly. Very knowledgeable and takes care of all watches. He fixed my mom’s watch, would recommend and come back when needed.
Amazing service and amazing people. The woman behind the counter and I had a talk about how it costs nothing to be kind to people and that spoke volumes. If you ever have any sort of watch need or repair, do not hesitate to come to Mr. K’s.
Very beautiful, vintage shop. Economical and fast service. Surprised to see lower wrist watch battery replacement charges.
I have had watch batteries replaced here several times. They have always done it while I waited, and charged a simple $5. My husband has a high-end watch and I used to send the watch back to them for battery replacement, which they recommend, but it takes weeks! I decided to try here, and got same day service and the battery even lasts longer!I recently decided to get a quote on repairing an old, antique clock that belonged to my grandmother. I wasnt in a rush, so it didnt bother me that it took several weeks for them to let me know the cost. $250. I appreciate that the review was through so there were no surprises. The fix after that happened quickly, clock works well, they even cleaned it up a bit. The new building may be a tad hard to find, but this is my go-to place. I had great communication with the lady running the front of the store. I cant imagine taking a timepiece anywhere else in Houston for service.
Mr K and his staff and extremely honest and professional - would wholeheartedly recommend. Couldn’t be happier with my watch repair.
Quick work! I went in for a watch battery replacement and I was in and out in just a couple minutes. They seemed very nice and polite which I like.
Most reasonable price for watch battery needs. Quick service!!
Mr. K provides legendary customer service and impeccable watch repair. He worked on all three of my watches while I waited, and he had all of them ready for me in a short time. Thank you for being the best part of our city.
Been going to Mr. Ks for years now. BEST watch repair in Houston by far. Quick, reliable, fast service. Ive tried giving other shops a try, but have been hugely disappointed with price and service. Ive recently moved to The Woodlands, and I still make the drive to see Mr. K for my watch repair needs. No one in the area can compare to this guy!
I have traditionally been an automatic watch guy. . . mainly because it is a pain to go get a battery replaced. I came across Mr. Ks Watch Repair just by accident. Walked in, gave him my watch expecting he would tell me when to come back. Instead it took it in the back. . . and even while customer after customer walked in, and phone call after phone call occurred, he ignored it all. . . stayed in the back working on my watch. About 10 minutes later he walked back up with my ticking watch, and only charged me $5. Since that first visit I have gone back numerous times and have never been disappointed. I am over an hour away from this store but am still happy to make the drive in because I trust him so much with my watches. He really values the customer who is there in front of him. Nice man, corky but cool, and does quality work at a fair price. It is almost like going back in time with the service you get. Highly recommend Mr. Ks!
Excellent service at reasonable prices.
Mr. K s Watch Repair is the only and best place to take your non working watch in Houston as far as Im concerned. His prices are very fair and he does a great job! I had one watched I took in that he could not repair and did not charge me at all. I highly recommend him. He has a new location that is a bit harder to find~its off 59 just inside the loop. If youre hungry Id stop in Annas Cafe in the lobby for some tasty Asian food.
Mr. Ks Watch Repair is excellent! You cannot beat the price and the amazing service. Its a little tricky to find (off of 59), but theres no where else I would go for my watch repair needs. I highly recommend.
I’m going to add to the stellar reviews which Mr. K already has on here. I brought in a Breitling AOPA edition watch (circa 1964) which belongs to my grandfather. This watch had been sitting in a drawer for decades and there was significant rust near the crown opening. Fortunately, after a lot of time and dedicated attention to detail, Mr.K was able to loosen the movement and replace the badly scratched crystal. Now, for more detailed and vintage jobs you will have to be patient and let the master do his work if you want a great final product at an extremely affordable price. Sending this to Breitling surely would’ve cost me in the thousands (if they even agreed to fix) but instead it was a small fraction of that. Mr. K and I got to know each other quiet well and I like to think he enjoyed my periodic check in and made for great conversation! I’m sad that I won’t have to check in on my watch any longer but know who I will go to for periodic maintenance and any future service I may need for my chronograph and automatic watches. Cannot leave enough stars for the service Mr. K provided!
I love visiting Mr. K to get my watch batteries replaced! He is so sweet and always does a speedy job replacing them for me on the spot-with a great price, too!! . I recommend everyone go to Mr. K for any of their watch needs. Thank you for always leaving me with a smile on my face too when I leave! See you again soon! Loved the new office view :)
Been a customer for years. Absolutely the best for any watch needs. Takes his time and does it correctly. Jeff is an absolute joy to deal with, and a true steward of horology. Really one of those people that inspire others to start sites/blogs like Hodinkee / Worn and Wound. Thank you for what you do Mr. K
Mr. Ks watch shop is great. You get wonderful, personal, one on one care in this watch/clock shop, and his prices are very affordable. Whether it be clocks, or watches needing repair, or a battery change, Mr. Ks is the place to go. Also, I live across town, and drive the extra distance for the terrific service.
Mr. Ks communications arent great (as others have mentioned), and his turnaround time for complicated jobs is going to be a long wait (his recent hours change to only opening shop a few days a week has been an attempt to alleviate this, but theres still a long wait because hes one of the few people capable of doing what he does and thus constantly has a huge log of jobs), but his quality of service is top-notch. I have some small experience in cleaning and servicing watches myself as a hobby, and I would absolutely trust Mr. K with any of my older pieces. He was able to service a 90-year old piece for me recently, and the results were most pleasing. The price was consistent with the level of work involved, as well, running $175 for cleaning and servicing (which required replacing several pieces). All in all, I was very satisfied.
They were able to change the battery on a watch in about 5 minutes for $13.50. They were very quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend
EXCEPTIONAL customer service! I have never said that before on a review.Another local watch repair place (Whos name I will not mention) quoted me $265 for basically an over haul on a 3 year old watch that I originally paid $350,3 years ago.Mr.K repaired my watch which turned out to be a minor issue for almost NOTHING.In this day an age how can you even find individuals like this anymore. You CANT! I will be back and continue to sing this his praises to everyone that will listen.Keep up the fantastic work!
Fixed a vintage Rolex that everyone else said couldnt be fixed because of its age. Very happy a family heirloom is restored.
Best in town
What a charming place to get a watch repaired or battery replaced. Mr. K appears to struggle with his health a bit, but he is kind and helpful. It’s in a bit of a strange location but well worth the visit. $5 for new battery and done quickly on the spot.
He moved but is a much more spacious office, fixed my watch while I waited which was nice, it was an easy fix, wouldnt take more than what I wanted to give him, super nice guy....
Great place. Such nice people.
Fast friendly family business.
This guy is great! Most other places wanted $40-$80 for a new Cartier battery. His price? $10. In addition to great pricing, he is also very knowledgeable. I have an extensive collection of high end watches and will only be coming back here for service. You have to be careful who you let work on your timepieces, and for a high quality repair at an economical price with no BS, this is the best place in town!
Great place, very reasonable price, $5 for battery change
Very welcoming! Will definitely do business in the future!!!
Awesome service and extremely reasonable prices. Mr. K repaired my two watches for $40 (both of them) whereas another shop quoted $399 for one watch and $150 for the other.Mr. K is highly recommended. A very friendly and skilled person. I wouldnt go to any other shop for watch repair.
I have taken my Omega watch to Mr.K. He is definitely the best at what he does. Hes no nonsense kind of guy. If its speed you want on a complex repair, hes not your guy. If its quality you want, you are at the right place. Price is unbeatable.Attitude unsurpassed!Highly recommend him...on my way back today for a second visit.
The to-go place for battery change and watch repair. Mr.K is so sweet and efficient and charges so little. Highly recommended!!
The service was excellent. When you you walk in, Mr.K is nice and sure to make you laugh. It was my first time going and Mr.K was incredibly friendly and helpful. He changed my watch’s battery in under 5 minutes and only charged $5. Will definitely recommend and return for any watch problems.
Lovely couple. Very honest in their work, and charge a fair price.
Extraordinary person and extraordinary workmanship! Honest, intelligent, talented and caring. He has helped me for more years than I can count. A privilege to know him.
Mr. K is great. He has worked on three watches for me. His work is flawless. His prices are considerable less than you will find elsewhere. He is always pleasant and courteous. I recommend him highly for any and all watch issue you may have. In addition, batteries and bracelet adjustments are only $5. Unbelievably excellent.
Great ambience, excellent service, the people we met were great, short wait time and just $5 for the battery replacement! Ive never been more happy..
Fixed my watch and replaced the battery for $5! Theres a reason this guy has been in business for 33 years, its a shame there arent more places like this open today. He really knows his stuff and is the nicest guy you will ever meet-an all around people person who makes you feel welcomed the moment you walk in the door. I have one of the more high-end models that Fossil makes. One of the pins came out, simple fix as always right? Nope. Took it to 5 different places, everyone including an actual Fossil store said its a complicated band unlike most other Fossils and will have to be shipped back to the factory to be fixed. So havent worn it for 2 years, and its my favorite watch. Finally decided to take it to Mr. K...took him 5 minutes. He also replaced the battery. The price? $5. This guy will have my business from here on out.
I went there to get my battery for my Nixon 51-30 replaced and he did a very swift job with professionalism. He even took the time to look for a band for the one that is wearing out. I will definitely return. FYI he replaced the battery for 5$ but gave him 10$ generously. He said he would replace my band for 5$ which is top notch. Thanks Mr k
I have taken 2 of my watches so far and the experience is phenomenal, never overcharge very professional and friendly people, you can leave your expensive watches here for any kind of service from battery replacement to a full service anything, and not have to worry about a thing. Will definitely be going back.
Outstanding service and a great price. I got the battery in my Seiko watch replaced for $5 and had a great time chatting with Mr. K. for a great overall experience. The shop is a little hard to see. Look in the Southeast corner of the small shopping center.
Mr. K replaced the batteries of three pocket watches and installed a face on one of them while I waited. Im so glad theyre working again.
I had a watch that needed a new battery. Jeff replaced the battery and reset the time for $5. I chatted with Jeff for a few minutes afterward until another customer entered the store; Jeff seems like a really nice guy. Fast, friendly service at a great price: Mr. K’s Watch Repair has a new lifelong customer.
Very friendly and fast service. I went out to get my watch fixed yesterday and they took care of me right away
Came Over in Need of Help, My Watch Being to Big. & With No Problem They Were Able to Fix My Problem at Ease & Remove the Extra Links. My Watch Now Fits Perfect!!!
Super quick and friendly service with a smile from Mr. K.Came in for a battery repair and Mr K took care of it within 2 minutes. Battery is 10 bucks and your in and out.If you blink you will miss this place. Its in a shopping center that looks like old brick apartments. There is a small sign on the glass that simply reads Mr. K watch repair. Hours of operations are funny! See photo. Apparently Mr. K liked to fish on Monday.Love supporting mom and pop local businesss like this! See you next time!
I have been to Mr. K’s Bissonett location at least 2-3 times over the past 4 years & have had excellent service! I realize that road construction makes it impossible to go to his previous location; however, when I tried to visit his “current” address this morning at 10:30, I arrived at a business office. The suite # did not have an unlocked door & my phone calls kept being disconnected/cancelled. Very saddened.
I brought a very convincing omega replica in to 4 other watch repair shops before going to Mr. k. These other professionals told me to take the watch to the Omega store, because they were the only ones capable of fixing it.Mr. K knew it wasnt a real omega within 1 minute. He Definitely knows his stuff.
I have been dealing with Mr. K for about 20 years. All around good guy. I trust him with all my watches, Rolex, Brietling, etc. I actually stored my gold and diamond watches there for 7 years. I trust him that much. Services all my watches and my friends watches too. Plus, you can learn a lot from this guy. Dont call though. He never answers the phone, he is always too busy. His prices cant be beat, most little things he fixes on the spot, bigger things you may need to leave for a week or two.
I went to Mr. Ks because of the favorable reviews I read online. They were absolutely correct and I would recommend that anyone in need of watch repair visit this shop. Simply good old fashioned service combined with great pricing (yes it cost $5.00 to replace a battery) - and really nice of find this combination in todays environment.
Extremely friendly and worked very quickly. Noticed exactly what I needed done before I could even say it, I will definitely becoming back.
Have been trusting Mr. K with my watches and clocks for over 2 decades. Amazing prices and complete honesty. Have taken fun cheap watches to expensive antique clocks. Best kept secret in town. Saw my jeweler bringing watches to him from their shop.
I would recommend Mr. K to anybody out there that needs his or her watch repaired (He does clocks repair and jewelry too, I think). He provided great customer service and indeed a very friendly human being. As what all other reviewers mentioned, his price is very affordable. I dont usually get excited and write reviews, but he provided a different level of service that I dont get that often, even among small businesses, that I have to recommend him.
Good service
Always a pleasure to come to Mr. K for work on my watches. He is a quirky and eccentric fellow who does excellent work. He has been able to fix a couple watches of mine that other places told me were lost causes! Highly recommend.
Absolutely tops. Mr. K is super friendly, helpful and proficient. Came in to have three batteries replaced and a strap reattached and was amazed at the $15 bill. I would have gladly paid double that, especially given the high quality of service.
This was my first time getting any type of work on my watches since moving to Houston. I trusted the high ratings and he was definitely worth of them. Very nice individual. Quick work. Only $10 for a fitting and a battery change.
Mr. K took very good care of my mothers gold watch and replaced her battery quickly and showed kindness and respect to us all. We are so glad we found his shop and enjoyed all the nice clocks and collectibles he had ad as well as artwork and photos for us to look at while we waited. It was an enjoyable experience.
This is a small, old-school watch repair shop. It almost feels like youre traveling back in timw. Very cool vintage feel. Mr. K (Im guessing is the name of the man in charge) was great. He charged me $10 for a service that I was quoted at $85 at a similar store at the mall. He was friendly, diligent and fast. I walked in an out happy with the result in less than 5 min. Fully recommend this place! He knows what hes doing and has a vast variety of watch bands and such, from what I could see.
Won’t go anywhere else. 5 bucks for a battery change on my Shinola. Mr. C’s told me 18$.. New location is nice and parking in the garage is easy.
Mr. K is the best! Theres always a line there because he does a great job and works quickly. I also personally enjoy his personality and the quirky shop. Its $5 to replace a battery and its a treat to come to the shop. Highly recommend!
Excellent little shop. Mr. K had my battery and gasket changed within minutes. Great price and great service !
A few weeks ago, I bought this wonderful Akribos XXIV watch online but discovered that it had a wrist strap that was way too large for my wrist size. I thought of returning it but I loved the watch so much that I began figuring out what to do.I found a reference to Mr. Ks as I was searching online for any reliable watch experts nearby. I walked into Mr. Ks shop unsure of what to expect and I was out in 15 minutes flat with my watch nicely fitted! It looked exactly as it had when I first took it out of the box-only that this time it was where God intended it to be. My arm!Service charge for such a wonderful job...wait for it...$5.00!!!I couldnt believe it! I havent worn a watch on my arm in the last 10 years and I know I will be visiting Mr. Ks very soon as I intend to built a nice collection.
Took my Tag Heuer in to get the clasp fixed. It took him some time to find the right size spring bar because it was a vintage watch and upon completion, I asked him how much he was going to charge for it. He said “it’s free” (just because I waited for 15 mins haha). I really wanted to pay for the service considering the great job he did, but he laughed and kept saying I’m good to go. Very nice man, and great watch repairer! :)
Unbelievably amazing service. Took a watch I bought off craigslist. He replaced the face perfectly and make the watch look great! Super friendly and amazing customer service. I felt bad paying so little for his superior work. Tried to pay him more and he wouldnt accept. I am already buying another watch just so I can go back. Amazing!
5 minutes and $5 to replace a watch battery! Great and quick service. A similar service provider in the Woodlands Mall, Its About Time, wants $20 for the same service. When I recently brought my watch to Its About Time, they said that my watch needed more than a battery and it needed cleaned and oiled and that would cost $60 and two weeks. That sounded fishy to me so I brought it to Mr Ks and the new battery was the only problem.
Mr. K lost a watch that had been in my family for 5 generations. My dad gave me my great great grandfathers pocket watch and I wanted to get it serviced to make sure it would stay in good working condition so I took it to Mr. K because of online reviews that said he would do a good job with vintage watches. That was in early December 2017. Since then I have gone back to his shop repeatedly to see if he was done with it or more recently since he admitted that he lost it and was looking for it to see if he had found it. I have emailed him almost a dozen times and never received a response and he has never answered my calls. Do not give this man your business unless you dont care about your watch getting lost in his mess he calls a watch shop.He did a good job fixing another watch of mine before he lost a watch I consider priceless but that doesnt change the fact I would give him negative stars if possible.
Amazing! Replaced battery for my TAG in 5 minutes. The sugar land watch store I went to cant even put the watch together. Another luxury watch store wants 80 bucks plus a 200 bucks maintenance. It will take 4 weeks!Mr K is the Best ever!
My 5$ watch batteries from him always lasted less than one year, is that typical? Then I went to Mr. something else ? on Bellaire, also less than one year. I will go to Mr Ks relocated shop because I always liked going there.
I have a watch which actually needed a pin in the wrist band. The watch also stopped working to my surprise because it was a brand new watch. So I googled cheap and best watch repair shops in Houston and Mr. Ks shop stood in front of everyone. So I went there and gave my watch to this elderly gentleman engrossed with his watches in his tiny room. He took my watch and said, it probably needs a battery repair. He went in his lil room and came back in 5 minutes with a working watch and, of course with the pin it needed in the wrist band. All of this for $5. I gotta say--cheap and best, and its hard to find people like him these days who offer quality service at a cheap price. I got to say this because a few weeks ago I took my other watch to another place just to get two band links removed, and they charged me a fortune for that. Mr. K is unlike others who charge you based on how expensive watch you got.
