A1 Allstate Movers is a top notch company. I had them move an entire household. They packed and loaded everything very professionally to ensure no damage would occur during the trip. They unloaded and not one single scratch or broken item. They are professional, courteous, friendly, polite, and cared about the contents of my home. Marlon from the main office was incredibly professional and prompt in calling me about a quote. He called one day prior to confirm all the details and ensure everything was set. On the day of the move, Pedro showed up with his truck and crew perfectly on time as scheduled. They worked with 5 push dollys and two flat carts, secured the furniture with clear wrapping before moving, worked efficiently and quickly, were considerate and communicative, and unloaded everything with care. I would totally recommend A-1 Allstate. This was a military move and appreciate their support of our troops and families!!

Horrible company; they took advantage of my mother, a disabled 90-year old senior citizen by refusing to reimburse her for damages caused by their movers, and taking over twice as long as necessary to complete a simple move. They are an unconscionable, corrupt and dishonest company lacking in integrity who exploits their customers. Review doesnt allow for zero stars; they dont deserve even 1 star.A-1 Allstate Movers was hired in mid-June 2018 to do a simple 1-bedroom move from an independent senior apartment to an Assisted Living facility, with a quoted time of approximately 3 hours. As the apartment did not include moving kitchen furniture, it was not even a completely furnished 1 bedroom apartment. Furthermore, all items had been packed, labeled, and ready for loading when they arrived at 9:30 am on June 19. Despite the 3 hour estimate, in actuality the 2 movers took over twice as long, 7.25 hours, and didn’t finish until 4:45 pm, 7.25 hours later. This was despite the fact that I ended up assisting in unloading the truck because they were so slow and it was getting late. Furthermore, the movers damaged a large piece of my mother’s expensive furniture, and to date have not paid restitution as per their contract, and despite repeated requests.A-1 Allstate Movers contract states that “damages will be reimbursed at 60 cents per pound”. After ignoring months of verbal and written requests for reimbursement, on September 13th they finally replied, but had the audacity to offer payment based upon a completely inaccurate weight of 140 pounds. This is completely unacceptable because it is an indisputable fact that the large Broyhill 65L x 56H x 23D entertainment center is heavy, and professional assessments put the weight at approximately 575 pounds. In doing the simple math, this would put the reimbursement for the damages to the furniture alone at $345, ($0.60 per pound x 575 lbs = $345), which doesn’t even include compensation for an outrageous 7.25 hour move. A-1 Allstate movers is in violation of their own contract.I am appalled at A-1 Allstate’s complete and total disregard for its customers, that any company would treat its customers with such disrespect, and not make prompt and appropriate restitution for damages which they themselves have caused. It is unconscionable that A-1 Allstate Movers would exploit and take advantage of a disabled senior citizen who, in good faith trusted their company only to have them damage her furniture and drag out the move to more than twice the time it should have taken, more than doubling the cost for a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income. It has been 4 months since the move, they ignore my letters and emails, and we still have not been compensated.

I wish I could give this company ZERO stars. What a mistake it was to choose them to move my things. I was simply moving few item in the house. IT TOOK THEM SOOOO LONG. Do yourself a favor and DONT USE THIS COMPANY. And if you end up doing it and have A1 as your movers, good luck, they are the WORST of the WORST. They wrap so slow and intentionally dragging. The third guy is on the phone most of the time . This company is horrible. Look elsewhere.

This service is the worst moving company Ive ever dealt with period. The movers were late and the head guy was being bullied by the 2 amateurs he brought with him. They didnt know how to pack let alone move a box. They dragged a dresser across tile floor and scratched about 12 tiles in a crooked line. They had to call another mover to come move my things while the other two amatuers sat in the truck. Do not waste your money and get ripped off like me. Last words for owner, statute of linitations - 4

HORRIBLE. They move very very very slow and take advantage of wrapping. They pick light item to move and left behind heavy for second trip, which end up left behind cause they charge too much time for us. At the beginning, My house was left with a few furniture only and simple stuff and it take them 8 hours to move to another house 10 min away. At the end of the day the move was not completed and we have to use another company to finish. NOT RECOMMENDED

A-1 Allstate made my move stress-free and even stored my belongings when my contractor ran over schedule. The owners could not have been more accommodating or helpful. I highly recommend if you plan to move anywhere in the city or even out of state that you hire this moving company. They are top notch and treat your belongings as if they were their own.

They took extreme care with my belongings and furniture. Wrapped everything very well, which put me at ease.I’m definitely using them again when I move to my next home!

They arrive on time and move really fast. Placing all stuff to places we want them to go. Also they are nice helping on the assembling of our new bench. Great experience overall. Took us only 2.5 hours to move and assemble a bench and a crib.

It was definitely not an easy move because it was from one high rise on the 21st floor to another high rise with a shortage of elevators.I highly recommend using their packing services because it made the whole process stress free. Rosie and her helper came to my home the day before my move and were so quick and efficient.The next day, Pedro’s crew were at my apartment on time and they were so professional. I have lived in Houston for over 35 years and have moved numerous times with mixed emotions about the different moving companies that I’ve used. However, the last time I moved I used A-1 Allstate Movers and they were hands down the best moving company I’ve ever used. From the supervisor Marlon to the lead mover Pedro they were courteous and professional. I have since referred them numerous times and all my friends agree with me. They are the absolute best Houston moving experience.

Movers confirmed appointment ahead of time, and showed up early. Rochon, the lead mover was fantastic. All of my items were transported successfully (with no damage). They covered every item, and uncovered every item after they moved stuff into the new place. From start to finish - I was impressed! I had a great experience and will definitely use again!

These guys were so efficient! I recently moved from a 3rd story apt to a 2nd story apt and realized the emense undertaking that was coming. My move need to be be completed in one day and the 3 guys that showed up made sure that it was done in the most safe and effective manner. They were done with the complete move in about 3 hours. CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! Marlon was nice to deal with but the movers are not anyone that I would recommend even if their budget was super tight. Miguel and his teammate were late. Then Miguel didnt even do anything the other guy did all the moving while Miguel stacked up boxes and talked to someone in my apartments about moving his house in Katy. It took 2 hours to get a one bedroom into their trailer. Then instead of finishing the job Miguel said they were entitled to a 30 minute lunch. I told him that Im not paying for that. They took an hour. By the end of this daunting process Miguel tried to charge me for 5 hours which included their lunch and their travel. I told Miguel I was calling the main office because I was clocking their time through texts messages and by using my security cameras he tried to act like he was cutting me a deal by reducing it down to 3.5 hours which was correct. To make matters worse I was asked to dinner when he was done and I was late picking up my son.

My fiancé and I recently had to move from our apartment to a new home. This was by far the easiest move ever thanks to A-1 Allstate Movers. They wrapped everything perfectly and were so fast, I was so pleased! We will be using them again for our next move.

The set my appointment time between 1pm -3pm. One of the movers called around 2:30pm stating he was still working another job and would be late. I called the company and stated this would not work for me seeing that they where the ones to give me the available appointment time . He said he would get some one else out to me sooner . No one showed up until 4:30pm . The workers where extremely slow and lazy.. they didn’t finish putting my items back together and they lost screws . To top it all off I got a call at 2:00 in the morning from the girlfriend of one of the movers accusing me of cheating with her boyfriend. We I called to report this behavior to the supervisor Marlon, he didn’t nothing to rectify the situation. I would strongly advise you to look somewhere else for movers !!!

Marlon sent me a quote and then spoke with me on the phone. He personally took the time to explain in detail what to expect. Offered to answer any questions that I had, which I had several. They provide everything, including wardrobe boxes.The day of the move I received a phone call letting me know that they were 45 mins out. They arrived early. They clocked me in and explained how they were going to be loaded on to the truck. Everything went smooth and with no issues. They wrapped everything carefully with blankets and plastic. They worked through the rain, making sure all of my things were protected. They never stopped and never asked for anything. Once we were loaded they clocked the time.Once we arrived at the new (long distance location) they clocked back in and proceeded to unload everything carefully. They asked where everything was supposed to go. They were the most professional two men I have had the opportunity to work with. I paid the price that I was quoted and not a penny more. I strongly and highly recommend these movers. Ask for Michael and his partner. This was a most excellent experience during a very stressful transition. Thank you very much for such a truly delightful and professional experience.

The guys that did the work were very friendly. However, I did get a little tired of hearing the two black guys talk badly about the white boy. Moving a 4 bedroom house was a 4 man job. Unfortunately I was the 4th man because they only had a 3 man crew. Will not be using again.

I used A-1 Allstate for a move on 5/30/16 and the entire experience was great! I originally had just booked the move, but when I started packing a few days before my move I realized how much extra help I was going to need. Marlon was able to recruit packers last minute to help with the kitchen etc. Let me preface by saying, i HATE moving. But this was definitely the easiest/best move ive ever done. All three men who came were quick, efficient, and kind. They were patient when I was scatterbrained trying to figure out what needed to be moved and packed!We had a mishap when we got to my new place (the landlord forgot to leave a key for me) and the movers waited patiently for 45 minutes until the landlord was able to get there. The entire move only took about 3 hours, and that was for almost an entire truckload of things.Definitely the best moving experience Ive ever had--Ill be using them for all of my future moves!

They moved our son to his first apartment. The movers were quick and efficient. Everything arrived without any breakage. He could not have been happier.

Extremely dissatisfied.....I scheduled my move 1-2 months in advance. In emails to Marlon, I expressed several times I needed movers that were experienced with sleep number bed/flex base install/uninstall experience. On my move day, 2 men came that could speak only a little English. I tried to express my question on the sleep number bed and they were confused. The lead person got the office on the phone to which I explained about the sleep number bed. The office then told him what I wanted. They took my booklets and took the bed down from it, so they did not know how to do it to start with. So they moved me. There were issues with the bed going back up. but they finally got it to air up, I tested the head raise and then the foot raise. A few days after I found my sister was to have open heart surgery. She was in the hospital for 4 days when she passed away. Then we had funeral and other issues to take care of. I called Marlon in the middle of all this as I found when I raised both the head and foot at the same time, the middle was not correctly fastened to the base. He stated he would get the movers to get back with me, they were very busy since it was a Friday. I stated no problem I could wait until the next week, I would just not raise the bed until they came. He also stated that If I did not hear from him in a day or so to call back. I called 3 days later as I had not heard anything. He seemed to be upset that I called back and that after so many days it was difficult the get the movers back out. Yes, a few weeks had passed but it does not change the fact that the bed was installed incorrectly. He stated he would call them and get back with me. It is now a week later and I still have not heard from him. Now I have to pay someone to fix their mistake. While the movers were friendly and the rest of the move (not including the bed) was ok, Im very disappointed in A-1 Allstate movers. I will be moving again when my house sells and I will not be using this company again. The movers were not at fault but Marlon was since he did not make sure they had knowledge of the type of bed being moved. I would give no stars but in order to post you have to click at least one.Update: Sleep Number technicians just left, to fix my bed will be just over $500 dollars. This is an expense I did not need after funeral expenses for my sister.Thanks a lot for your so called knowledge of moving a sleep number bed.Cyndi Aid.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Its been since June of 2015 when a claim was submitted due to damaged items. I spoke to Marlon who was curteous when I called to make the appointment but has been rude since I had issues with the move. I was referred to a contractor for the company which I was told today no longer works for the company. It has been a nightmare having this issue resolved since there is no one else I can speak to at this company other than Marlon. He cant tell me what the status is of my claim and said the only other person I can speak to is the owner of the company and the only way to get a hold of him or her is through correspondence. I feel ripped off and would NOT recommend this company to ANYONE. I had items given to me by my grandmother who is deceased. I didnt have any issues with the other company I used to move my belongings from Southeast Houston to Kingwood but had such a horrible experience with this one. He sounds hobest when you call but if you have damaged items take it from me it will be like pulling teeth to have anything done about it, his attitude will change. Dont learn the hard way.

I have over $16,000 worth of damage in my home. The moving company is refusing to claim responsibility / liability. First the company was hired to box my belongings. Items were missed from being packed; some boxes were half packed and rattling. Boxes collapsed once they were stacked due to this fact leading to items being broken. Second, on move out / move to storage day the 3 men crew was over 1.5 hrs late. The crew leader was experienced but had to constantly be distracted to help the other 2 movers properly disassemble items to move them. The driver of the van at one point swerved across 4 lanes of Hwy 290 traffic to exit for 610 Hwy when driving to the storage. The inexperienced movers stacked items inefficiently in the storage unit, requiring to start over. Wall art was not properly wrapped, at minimum I asked to fold wrapping paper around paintings. Furniture items were not shrink wrapped fully - only the dressers so the drawers were not sliding out. Sectional couch, leather ottoman, beds, bar, other items was not wrapped at all. Third, move from storage unit to my renovated new house was on Aug. 15th. Late again, a different 3 men crew came despite a request weeks prior to have the same crew leader and more experienced movers (original crew leader was the one to take my furniture apart and I was moving into a 3 story townhome). The new crew came with too small of a truck- required to go back to storage complex an additional time. The new crew came without any tools to reassemble furniture. I provide what tools I had, they are now stripped out. My newly renovated home is severely damaged - 1st floor concrete floor suffered visible drag marks / scratches; gouges, drag marks and holes in the new hardwood floors on 2nd and 3rd floors. 1st floor concrete has to be refinished, stairs leading to 2nd floor and the 2nd floor hardwood has to be sanded down and re-stained, 15+ wood planks have to be replaced on the 3rd floor. The stairwell walls from 1st to 3rd floor have to have drywall work, walls and trim re-painted from holes and drag / dirt marks from furniture being smashed around, other room walls damaged from items stacked against them unprotected. Furniture items all suffered light to severe damage - cracked and missing pieces of wood from furniture, paint stains from hitting walls, scratches / gouges on all furniture legs and tops of desks / dressers from being stacked badly, missing bolts and screws for reassembly, etc. The cloth sectional couch has greyed from being unwrapped requiring upholstery cleaning. I am missing 2 large glass top cocktail and end tables. My fridge (disassembled for the move) was not properly assembled - the freezer door is misaligned, door handles not screwed in, visibly dented on all the sides, the fan does not sit right and randomly whirls / clicks loudly, ice accumulates in mounds on freezer drawer / inside. The fridge water line was not properly reattached, trim and hardwood floor nearby suffered water damage. My great-grandmothers stone picture was broken in half (irreplaceable). For the past three weeks I have attempted to contact the claims manager at A-1 All State Movers. This manager is elusive and is not returning any of my attempts at contact. Last time I contacted the office and spoke with the main office manager, I was told Well hon, you are just gonna have to send us an email. I dont know what to tell you. The A-1 All State Movers company office manager, has eluded that the issues Ive suffered is not their responsibility / concern. Per professional appraising company, I have $16,510 worth of damage/replacement value in my home. I have been ignored, treated unprofessionally, called names and told what has happened is my fault. My home was freshly renovated; my furniture was purchased new at prior home. The damage I have suffered with my household is due to A-1 All State Movers. The moving company is unresponsive and yet to claim responsibility / repair the damage.
