I honestly dont remember buying a car to be this hard, but it was a serious up hill battle. I must have been set down and held captive by at least 5 different dealers. It seems a tactic to convince you can get into anything you want just let them make it work. Then 2 hours later they come to the conclusion you had when you walked it. It aint gonna work. IN any case I began my car search with Subaru of clear lake. They had a Nisan frontier I was interested in, but sadly out of my price range. The sales man Matthew Hughes was very straight forward about, and I never even went to see the vehicle. I did however ask him to Keep an eye out for any others that came along. Thus I ended up at other dealers and the afore mentioned captivity. At some point I opened up to possibly getting an suv instead of a truck. Matt happened to call me and with that information he made several suggestions. Some of them I dismissed off hand but others caught my eye. Finally he convinced me to come see a Rav 4. I honestly never had any interest in that vehicle until he pointed it out. So I swing by sit in it and decided I was right... way too small. Thats when I noticed a gorgeous Jeep Grand Cherokee. I assumed it would be way out of my price range, but no it was perfect! Then came the real problem. MY Kia trade was well lets just say less than impressive. This would end up driving the cost of the Jeep up. Thats when Matt really got to work. After repeated request on my behalf he got them to increase the part of the trade in twice. Plus they found me an even better interest rate than the financing I already had lined up. So in a nut shell I when from car buying Captive to a truly happy camper. thank to Matt and the team at Subaru of Clear Lake. I honestly dont think I can thank them enough.
4 years ago I gave this place a 5 star review. Today I give it a 2. The last time I got my car serviced here I was told it would take 2 hours. Those 2 hours turned into half the day. Recently had a recall and brought my car in yesterday. Called Friday morning because my appointment was changed without my consent. Front desk said it would take the whole day and if I wanted my original appointment I would have to leave my car overnight and would not receive a loner vehicle. So I drop my car off and rent a car with a schedule pick up Saturday at 10am. I come to pick up my car at 10:30 only fo be told it’s not done and that I told them I’d pick it up on Monday so they stopped working on my car. My car went I. Did a recall, oil change, and a software update. I NEVER AGREED TO PICKING MY CAR UP ON MONDAY. There is no communication happening between anyone here. I drove across town because I genuinely liked this place and recommend it to people, but unfortunately will stop
Eric my service advisor was informative and kept my service on time and gave me service options and all the paperwork need for my State Registration! The car was returned cleaner than I left it (and vacuumed)! The gentleman in Parts (sorry didnt get a name) was helpful and found what I needed had to be ordered but gave me an approximate delivery date and said he would notify me when it arrived. Snacks were very Subaru, healthy but delicious!
Was able to get an appointment for today. Eric explained it would take about 30 minutes to check it out. About 20 minutes later he came and said it was reset and ready to go. Swift, courteous service in a short time. Very pleased. As usual.

I called for an appointment for a routine maintenance service on my Subaru. I was quickly provided with a very convenient schedule lead time. I was met by a very knowledgeable and capable person who was my representative for the service work. All aspects of the regular maintenance and computer checks were completed promptly. All of my questions were answered in a from a very knowledgeable service representative who handled my situation. He was very kind considerate and helpful it was a good experience.
I have been coming to this dealership for the past 5 years for general maintenance. Everytime they help me out with what needs to get done. If something looks dates they fix it no problem. They guarantee all work on the car.

I believe that in business clear & concise communication is important. When people arrive at a dealership, 9 times out of 10 they want to not only buy a car but test drive it BEFORE they buy it or even talk numbers. In the future I believe that it will behoove this company to text that the car is not able to be test driven before a customer drives 40 minutes PLUS to your location. I understand that business is business but I’m giving this company a 1 star because I for one don’t like to waste people’s time and I don’t like for my time to be wasted.
I come here for my oil changes although my free ones have expired mainly because I know Ill get great service and professional results. Plus everyone is so friendly. This is why I love the subaru tribe!

The Clear Lake’s service team is incredible. Their customer service was great, I was kept updated through the entire process & the the representative made himself available for any questions or further direction. They did their necessary research on recalls & other smalls updates but didn’t try to up-sale me on services I didn’t request. This is the third Subaru dealership in the greater Houston area I have gotten my lease serviced in & it was by far the superior experience. Thank you!
Great dealer, until it came down to customer service. I bought an extended warranty September of 2020. Now in August 2021, I brought it into the dealership yesterday, with hopes I could get it looked at. The warranty was 24 months/24,000 miles. Turns out was barely over the warranty (3000 miles), with regular oil change and maintenance done. I have already had to pick up the bill for a repair on 4 Wheel Drive issue ($600) no big deal. Never asked for a dime of the warranty money. Now im having engine problems that clearly developed while I was in warranty. They will not touch or look at it. Told me I was out of luck. I hope others can have a better experience than this.
Took my new Forester in for my first oil change. I was surprised when they also updated my audio software and changed my wipers without asking. I appreciate them taking the extra care and customer service. It was nice to feel taken care of!!! Great customer service!!

Eric and his team were amazing. From start to finish they informed me of what would be done to my vehicle, when it would be complete, and the pricing. When I picked up my Forester, Eric gave me a detailed description of what had been done once again. My car was clean, and all maintenance had been completed in a timely fashion.

Honestly couldn’t have been happier with my car buying experience here. I wasn’t sure if I even wanted a Subaru when I walked in, but Bradley was super patient with me test driving multiple vehicles and didn’t pressure me at all. When I decided on a Crosstrek the next morning I told him that I needed to come in on my lunch break for paperwork etc. He wasn’t working that morning but helped me get all of my stuff submitted before coming in and another sales associate, Tyler, had the car and paperwork ready for me when I came in an hour later. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes with my keys in hand - pretty sure that’s some kind of record!! Obviously inventory is super limited right now but I’m absolutely in love with my new whip and Bradley and Tyler were awesome! You should buy here if you can.

Awful experience at this dealership. The salesman lied to my face, denying the negotiated price that was agreed upon days prior. The manager was unbelievably unhelpful and sided with the employee immediately rather than trying to explain or diffuse the situation. This eventually escalated to the salesman raising his voice and swearing at us. The manager stood by while this happened, saying to the salesman “it’s not worth it, etc”. This was a situation that could’ve been completely avoided had the employees communicated with each other regarding customers’ deals. This was a mistake on their part and they shouldn’t be patronized if this is how they treat their customers.
I recently purchased a used 2016 Subaru Outback Limited from a different dealership but, had zero records of the service history. However, Carfax indicated Subaru of Clear Lake performed some of the most recent work. So I called their service department and Dan answered the phone. I explained I was hoping he could help me understand what services still need to be performed based on his available service records. Dan was absolutely the best! Shortly into the conversation I explained I live in Utah and so any service needs would not be performed at Clear Lake. This did not deter Dan at all. He was 100% committed to helping me with every question I asked, he searched for additional information whenever possible and never once made me feel like he was in a hurry to get back to his real customers. I felt I was given expert advice... and expert information... and expert recommendations. His expertise and knowledge is powerful. Given what I want to know/understand about a vehicle, he is absolutely the best salesman I could ask for. I felt so good after talking with him versus the slimy feel that frequently follows a call like this. I cannot thank him enough. Its too bad I am not located closer because Dan is definitely the best service manager Ive ever talked with in over 30 years of extensive experience. I plant to keep an eye on this dealership for my future vehicle needs and will very seriously consider flying to Texas Subaru of Clearlake for my next purchase and have an enjoyable ride back to Utah in my new ride :) Thanks Dan!P.S. Courtney is the best salesperson ever!!! I have never experienced someone who paid so much attention to detail. Found out when we would be there, had the vehicle we were looking at ready for a test drive, even turned it on a few minutes ahead of time so it would cool off. We arrived at our appointed time and waited for someone to assisted us in getting our Forester serviced. A young man, Eric first assisted us and logged us in. Later, we were assigned to Michelle Cortez. She kept us informed of the service that would be done for our vehicle and the technician would address our concern about the errant “windshield washer” service light that was coming on erratically. After the technician’s review, we were informed by Ms Cortez of the plan of action and about other issues that were noticed and needed to be addressed concerning the brakes, wheel bearings and wheel alignment. We agreed upon the process that we needed to be completed during this service period and discussed the time needed to complete them. Since the repairs were going to take longer than expected and we had prior commitments, Ms Cortez arranged for us to use a loaner vehicle and we could return it following day when we pick up our vehicle. The customer waiting area was clean and comfortable, plus plenty of beverages/snacks.
Great purchasing experience. Donahue was no rush, professional, and knowledgeable. Service department is also on point and took care of us no problem 👌

Paul was my sales consultant and he is outstanding. I am young and have only had terrible experience with buying vehicles. Paul changed that for me. He helped my trade in my Honda fit for the Truck of my dreams. He did this in less then 3 hours. No hassle or stress, very relaxed. Paul even checked up days later to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. This dealership as a whole was very friendly and professional. This dealership has an amazing staff. Unlike other dealerships I was drawn to this one by the great deals on their pre owned inventory and their customer service. Earl was really helpful and answered all my questions. And Matt delivered my vehicle since I live in San Antonio. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
*WARNING* Do not sell your car to these guys go to Carmax or sell privately.Was originally told payment would be issued to be in 2 days when my lender got back to them. Then to be told it would be 10 days after the 2 had passed . 10 days passed and was told it would be another 4-6 weeks till the state issued them the title. They are quick to buy your car and rush you out the door, but will take advantage and are not quick to pay you money owed . Save yourself the headache and sell private or to a different service. Seeing how they’ve handled this I would be apprehensive to even buy a car from them either.
I love my Forester and Subaru of Clear Lake is always great. From the time I ordered my vehicle online, through delivery and now for routine maintenance, I’m always impressed. Everyone is friendly and my car is always sparkling clean after a service appointment. It’s easy to book online and texts keep me updated while waiting in the welcoming and comfy lobby. Customers come first and you feel like family.

I would give zero stars if possible. I sold these people my 2020 Jeep Wrangler rubicon on June 12, 2021. They said as soon as they got the title they would call me for my equity check. After 5 and a half weeks I hadn’t heard anything and called. Come to find out they had the check for over a week. Trying to make thing right, they over nighted the check. The following day I went to deposit that check and IT BOUNCED!! 6 WEEKS LATER IM WAITING FOR $26K AND THE JEEP HAS BEEN SOLD FOR WEEKS!!!!! 0 stars, 2 thumbs down, would not recommend!!!!

Stopped in to check out Subaru’s new 7-seater, the Ascent. Didn’t quite have time for a test drive but the car looks fantastic. I am a regular customer of Subaru Clearlake. Every time I take my 2019 Outback in for service I have been treated with comfort while I wait, knowledgeable discussions of procedures and processes, speedy service and great results. I thank Subaru and especially Eric for guiding the process for me and keeping me informed.
If I could give 0 stars I would. These people failed to properly secure one of my tires after a tire rotation which caused both the tire and rim to come off my car. They blamed me and said that my tire was too big and was “bound to happen”. Tires don’t just come off. 5 bolts don’t just mysteriously come loose from the tired being too big. I’ve had the same tires on my car for almost a year and have had my tires rotated at different Subaru service centers and this has never happened. I will NEVER bring my car back to this location as they do not take responsibility for their mistakes. Someone could’ve been seriously hurt due to their negligence.
My husband and I recently moved back to Houston and were looking for a vehicle quickly. After visiting multiple dealerships and leaving unimpressed, were glad we landed at Subaru of Clear Lake! Our salesperson, Robbie was extremely helpful and found us exactly what we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable about the car and its features and walked us through everything. The car buying process was so easy! I highly recommend the dealership and working with Robbie!
Did an inspection at the service department and paid for it.Went to renew my registration and they told me an inspection was not done. Called service and after being on hold for an hour they tell me that they have it on the receipt that it was done, but their machine shows no record of it. They offer to have me drive 45 min and they will do another inspection for free. Did yall forget I already paid for the one that never happened?Pretty unacceptable. Wasted a total of 4 hours of my life.
In terms of buying a car, it was a great experience. The dealers here are personable and make the process as easy as possible.However, if you are requested to bring your vehicle in for a necessary recall, do not go to this location. If you are forced to go to this location, SPECIFICALLY tell them NOT to do any sort of courtesy inspections on your vehicle. They are going to take the opportunity to claim there is a problem where there may not be one. They are a typical dealership. I went in for a routine recall and was later called being told that my vehicle was in bad condition and needed several things repaired on it. I work on my own cars. I knew something was going on when they called me with this since that specific car is extremely well maintained.They sent me a $5,000 estimate which I immediately rejected. They were essentially charging $4,000 in labor and the rest in parts. Anywhere else could do this for cheaper with the same OEM parts. Do NOT entrust your vehicle to this location for any repairs or tune ups. ESPECIALLY following a courtesy inspection that you didnt ask for. ALWAYS get a second opinion if you believe something may be wrong with your Subaru.

Although we didnt end up buying right now, we will definitely be going back to see Noel at subaru in a few months when we are ready to buy.
Bought a truck in March from Subaru of Clearlake. I thought I was doing business with a reputable dealer, but I am very disappointed. Within a couple of months, the brake pads and rotors are metal to metal. I needed to replace my front brakes and rotors. Okay, it was a pre-owned vehicle. Upon further inspection of my rear brakes, the technician finds absolutely no pad life on my parking brake system that looks to have been rusted together for years. Not only a safety concern for my family, but seems to me a blatant neglect for safety by not reconditioning this vehicle. What is disturbing, either they never looked at the brake system or someone saw it and did not care.
OK people, when you walk through the door ask for Bradley. Thats all there is to it!! He will answer every question you may have. His sales approach is laid back and NOT pushy. From the moment he assisted me on the review and purchase of the Subaru of my dreams, I felt very assured of the product and service I was investing in. 10 months after my purchase he still is available to answer my questions and occasionally will drop a text to just follow-up!!! So give yourself a gift of no hassle buying. Be sure to ask for Bradley - you wont be sorry!!!
We’ve owned a Subaru for years so when it was time for me to get a new vehicle, we knew we wanted a second Subaru. We’ve never had a bad experience at this Subaru when it comes to maintenance of our old vehicle, and buying a vehicle was just as good as an experience. I was actually dreading buying a vehicle but it went well! Whenever I walked in, I was immediately greeted and Noel asked if I needed any help. We test drove the vehicle I was interested in and he told me all of the features. As we were talking, he made sure that it was right for our lifestyle. I never felt like he was trying to add anything on or change what I was getting, he was just trying to make sure I was getting the right vehicle for me. I wasn’t really planning on getting the vehicle that day, but I liked it so much that I went ahead and purchased it! We got the Outback 3.6r because their 2.5i is much slower to accelerate and we wanted to tow a kayak trailer.Noel made the process quick, easy, and enjoyable. The next time we need a new vehicle, we will probably go back to Subaru... again.

I called Tyler to confirm if he still had a truck on the lot for purchase and he had it right up front for us when we got there. Tyler was great during the whole process. He made it quick and easy for him and us. Came back the next day because we needed to get our paperwork and had an issue with the radio but it was well taken care and he sought to it. I did my application online and I make sure I had a CO signer So they said yeah good everythings good They should check properly To top it off they try to corner me into just buying a certain vehicle Thats what these guys try to do Corner you into getting what they want you to get. I only dealt with the salesman Ive been to better places where the manager comes out and greets you and what not Believe me this is not a good place to go
Bought a Certified Pre-Owned Ascent here yesterday, and the wife and I couldn’t be happier with the service and care that was provided to us. Our salesman was Earl Balitaan, and we really liked him a lot! He was knowledgeable, kind, conversational, and showed us everything we needed to know. He even helped us get a much better interest rate than Amoco offered. I would 100% buy from him again. Super impressed. The gentleman in the business office where you sign the papers (his name escapes me), was also very helpful in laying out coverages. We went with the extended gold package thanks to his advice, and he also helped make the deal by working with us on the interest rate. If you’re interested in a Subie, this place is worth a visit!

I have never had an easier car buying experience. There was no pressure. I purchased the car from my easy chair, at home. I wanted a special car and they went to great lengths to get it for me and I absolutely love it. The car is a small SUV that drives like a sports car! What more could you ask?
I bought an Ascent from Noel Daniel at Subaru of Clear Lake a few months ago and he was very patient and attentive. We had lots of questions and he put absolutely no pressure on us. Also, it was the least amount of time Ive ever spent in a dealership when buying a car. We were probably in and out of there within an hour and a half. Noel was awesome during the process and continues to follow up often.I absolutely love the Ascent! in September I drove it to Colorado and the only issue I had was locating it in parking lots filled with Subarus!
Bought a crosstrek a little over a year ago. Sales team did great getting me what I needed. Manager did great and I enjoyed working with the team. Ive waited to write the review until I have had to get service done and I have to say service department did great. Ive had terrible experience in the past with dealerships and there service departments but subaru of clear lake is honest and had integrity. Bought a vehicle from them a couple of years back because they offered the lowest price, and after my first service call, I’ve been back ever since. The closest dealership to me is 10 mins away. I drive 45 just to get to Clear Lake bc they’re some of the best I’ve worked with.
Drove over an hour to come buy a car i had scheduled a reservation to see. Walked through the door and after talking to one of the salesmen he informed me that the person i was there to talk to went home early and they had already sold the car. I didnt receive a phone call, email or anything and on top of that the salesmen felt the need to remind me how nice the vehicle was that i was going to buy. Vary disappointed with how unprofessional they were. I will never buy a car from here.
For the smoothest car buying experience, walk straight to Robbie D’s desk. After about a month of car shopping, even from other Subaru dealerships in the Houston area, I was shocked that the car buying process here was pleasant, easy, and hassle free. Robbie was kind, knowledgeable, and competent. It’s obvious he loves his job and the product; spend more than an hour with him and his humor is unmistakable. As long as I choose to drive a Subaru, this will be my spot to buy.

Went to Subaru of Clear Lake to purchase a pre-owned vehicle for my daughter and found a 2011 VW Jetta. Our sales person, Matt helped us get the vehicle at a great price and we were able to drive it home the next day. A slight problem with the vehicle was discovered afterwards and Matt, his manager Taylor and Landon in the service department went above and beyond to get the vehicle fixed and back to us almost a week sooner than originally thought. I will definitely recommend this dealership to anyone.
I had a wonderful car buying experience thanks to James Rutledge. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. I really enjoy working with James, this is the 3rd Subaru I have bought from him and he help in getting my mother in-law a Subaru as well. James worked with me to get the best deal on my trade and on my new Ascent. James even offered to set up a time at a later date to go through all the features with my wife, who was otherwise occupied when I picked up the vehicle.

After I got in my wreck on January 1st I went here a week later just expecting to look and not thinking I had enough money to buy yet due to me still waiting on the insurance claim. They worked with what I had and came up with a deal I couldn’t pass up! Installed my tow package and a few days later I went and got my very first Subaru Outback which has been my dream car for a years! Took it to get serviced today and they were all so helpful and nice and did a great job!

Drove here from Louisiana to purchase my daughter’s first car - It IS Worth the drive ! Will Holderfield was the best - he was knowledgeable about the specific features of our vehicle . Naza, the Finance manager worked out the details of accepting 4 different forms of payment from 4 different sources . We had the pleasure of meeting Taylor, the used car manager, and someone in the detail department touched up some scratches ! We were a lot of moving parts and Clear Lake put them all the parts together in a package just right for us !
I had been working with Andy Hollister for a couple months trying to find the perfect used vehicle. I had high expectations on a vehicle. I texted Andy and a car had just come in. I test drove the 2011 Subaru Outback on Friday and came back on Saturday and bought the car. No haggling, made our offer they accepted and out the door we went.
