Booked online walked 3 miles to the place and the guy said we just refunded you for it. we un-booked our other because of the price. I said we don’t want our money we want our car. He just shrugged his shoulders like he did not care and he really did not. Horrible little place disgusting man you could tell he hadn’t showered in a very long time. Buyer beware here STAY AWAY!

I rented a Chevy at this location… All through the car kept giving the service airbags alert on the dashboard. When I called them they said American cars keep throwing it so don’t bother. Seems they knew it but are still renting this car. Someone needs to goto the authorities some day.

LIED about the price. I called & went over 5 minutes later. When my wife asked for the price they added an extra $30 to the original quote! 😠The Car was dirty inside & out. The manager/ owner talked with me because I asked him about his pricing and he gave me attitude.There is no parking near by. Yes, the surrounding area is nice but the people and the way they do business is no good.How they stay in business is based off supply & demand, when all cars are gone, you can rent from here but BEWARE, this is a shady business.

No return email, no return phone call. Got to HI. Left us stranded. If you’re going to run a business, by all means do so. Don’t bother trying to rent here. We have $400+ for our reservation but no car, no people. What a joke

Complete con job. They rented me a car then took my money and I followed up with them the next day and they inform me that all reservations have been cancelled for the next 5 weeks. Unfortunately they did take just under $1000 of my money and have yet to see it returned. They also had no plans to inform me and I was just supposed to show up and find out I had no car.

Made a reservation about 2 weeks ahead of time just to come down and find out that they refunded my money. No one contacted me directly about what was the reason why and are whole vacation was ruined. I dont recommend this company I hope they get shut down soon.

Hmm I don’t think this place is more competitive than any national chain rental companies like enterprise or budget. Not a great deal. The only pro is it is close to where I stayed so easier to pick up and return.Make sure to take your deposit back ( bank temporary authorization). I have to call my bank to log a transaction dispute because the merchant took my deposit and posted the transaction. I was charged twice. One is for the rental fee, the other is for the temp authorization. The merchant assured me that the bank will release the temp authorization However, I saw both charges being posted later.

Disgusted over this facility. This man threatened my husband when he asked for his money back. Extremely shady business practices as preys on the good nature of folks on vacation.

Absolutely awful customer service. Guy hung up on me. They wont take bookings in advanced and will cancel your order if you try! Dont go with these guys you will regret it.

Would give zero stars if I could. We confirmed and paid for a rental in advance only to walk miles through town to their shop and have them tell us they dont have any cars left and have yet to receive a refund. Dont know how this place stays afloat considering the other reviews. AVOID

Next time we’re back in Oahu we’re only renting a car from this company. They were incredibly nice and we LOVED our Jeep. If you come to this island you are silly not to rent a car ... would recommend this Car Rental to anyone

Just made a reservation online and it took my payment. When I called to ask for email conf they said all online reservations will be canceled. When I asked about my payment - they said it will be credited. The call clearly went to india - THIS IS A SCAM!!

WARNING, MUST READ to anyone who is considering them. Horrible from the start. Their website says they have cars for like $21.95. We walked down there and wanted to rent one and it was $125. I told them their website said otherwise. They told me I had to book it online. Their website will not allow online booking as it says “CALL for info.” I told the guy this and he said you have to go into the comment box and put it in an email and they will email back you a quote and he has to go of that…which was completely diff then what he previously stated. LIE #2. So I actually did that and i never got an email back with a quote. Its been almost 2 weeks and I still don’t have a quote. That place has SCAM written all over it. Glad I never actually rented from them.

Unprofessional service and most of all, VERY dirty car. Also our tire went flat half way into our trip! You can see they DO NOT take care of their cars! We had to struggle to find a close by gas station to pump it up, overall not a pleasant experience and not worth the $20 saved comparing to a legit company we could of rented from.

Renting through VIP was hassle free and the rates truly were the best on the Island I could find. Furthermore, even though I returned the automobile a day late, they did not charge me a full day (only half), which I felt was rather cordial, since I did sign the agreement stating I would have to pay full price. The vehicle rented to me was a late model Nissan Maxima, with slight interior wear, but the vehicle ran like a charm and allowed me treat my mother to a grand tour of Oahu without any issues. Since, I have recommended VIP for those needing reliable transportation on a budget. Thanks guys.

We rented a car for three hours and got a $25 charge for having some sand on the floor and an extra day charge for having the seat a little wet.

DO NOT RENT YOUR VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY! When I called the man on the phone told me a mini van would be $69 per day, when I arrived he didn’t talk about the price and just charged my card $1,100. When I received the alert to my phone I questioned the price and he said $169 per day! Very rude and unprofessional people!! PRICE GOUGING ALERT!!!!

Holly cow. Dont rent from these guys. I dont know how they stay a float. Everyone leaving bad reviews must not have checked them before hand. Myself included. They would not honor pricing in hotel flyers. The cars a serious crap. Fuel tank was beyond empty. I was told to just bring it back empty. We were lucky there was enough to even make it to the gas station. Keep telling the wife if it runs out we will just leave it and find someone else. Very very rude. We should have walked a way but we didnt. Car was rough and seemed like it could have blown up at anytime. It made it to another day to blow up on the next guy. Next should have enough gas to get to the station because I could quiet get it empty. Left a 16th left by mistake. Would never ever go back and hopping I dont have further problem following with my card charges. Mark my words. DO NOT rent a car here.

Exhaust leak into vehicle. Went around part of the island but came bank early. We are all sick to our stomach and have headaches. We had to have the windows down the whole trip. Cheek engine light on and the breaks were marginal at best. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!

Easy to find. Had a car available on last minute on a busy weekend. Desk person was nice. Over priced as car was really beat up and old. BUT it got us to where we were going.

Been using VIP for YEARS. I will be honest. You WILL get a junk heap of a car. Yes, One car DID have cockroaches in it. But they have always run just fine. And it DOESNT SREAM RENTAL CAR. Thats the beauty of renting from VIP. We go all over the island in what looks like a local car. Dont have to worry about getting broken in to. Never, ever had a car break down on us. And when Alamo and National and Budget are all out of cars, VIP will still scrounge up a car for you. Cant beat the price! It IS run by locals, so as long as you are chill and dont have attitude, they are very nice. But to be honest, if you cop a touristy attitude, however, they might not be so nice. Check your car completely out before you sign, and ask all questions first. Also, if you are in a big rush, dont come here. It doesnt take long, but it wont be super fast. If you are OK with a junker car, this place seriously rocks. And you can get a less junky car for a little more money. They have ALWAYS been really nice to me. I always go to the location inside Aloha Gas station on Kuhio. Cant vouch for other locations. But Kuhio street VIP is awesome.

Very unprofessional, Unpleased with their service, charged deductible and without returning that they charged another unknown, unnotified fee. Very unresponsive, were not willing to work with us, and tried to harrass my wife and I and for telling them the truth. Definitely do not reccomend. Literally zero customer service.

MJ help us with our car rental. Very good price and he even showed us on the map where all the good attractions are on the island. We got a car that was just return and wasnt clean yet but MJ waved the cleaning fee. We got the Nissan Versa which was great on gas and easy to get around in. Another staff member help us when we return the car and was quick and painless. Thanks MJ and we will tell all our friends about you guys. I was treated like a VIP!

Terrible, horrible- do not use this agency. I was given a car that has no functioning car horn, and when I called to let them know, offered to pay for two days instead of one week, no refunds was response. Trunk safety latch doesnt work and discovered roach hotel under seat😳

Rented a vehicular from this establishment that was in poor condition. Owners do not speak English well and are very rude and attempt to nicke and dine you at every opportunity. Not any cheaper than Alamo around the corner. You will likely lose more money to these con artists than if you went to a real car rental establishment. Wish I had read the reviews seriously and not dismissed them as the few disgruntled past customers. Now you have been warned. Please see the Yelp reviews as well.

I sent my guest to VIP car rental on Beach walk, after he examined the jeep, without the top on, he went ahead with the contract and charge but when he asked the guy where the top was, he was told there was no top. My client said that he thought there was a top but had not been put on yet, so he told the guy at VIP that the car will not work for him without a top, so within minutes of signing the contract, he cancels but he was still charged $20 cancellation fee. When I asked VIP why they did that, he replied he was taking to long to decide and some people were behind him and walked away. My client was told that he didnt have a choice and the fact that they had his credit card #, he was afraid to fight the charges. I asked if he was punishing my guest for losing a customer? of course, he replied no.At another time, VIP told me that they were beating the other guys prices, so I go there and after executing the contract, I found out that I was paying more than AVIS and BUDGET....

We had a very bad experience. You rent the car because of the low fares but look carefully at everything the contract says and don´t get any dirt in the car or they will charge you very high charges.

Unfortunately left my iPad in one of the most suspect/questionable cars I have ever been in. Gross negligence on my part. Was back within an hour, but was told car had been rented out already, and the trunk had not been checked (suspicious). Stalled a few days and told to call back once I had left for home, and 99% sure we will get it back. No surprise, it didnt show up. My mistake aside, there was either deception/dishonesty on their part, or they dont do their job completely (check the trunk, lost and found).

My family (8 of us) booked a rent car from here when we got there he was signing the car to someone else even though we had previously booked it and were waiting there in the line. We had all gotten up at 6 for a day trip that ended up being a waste! Very rude and dishonest people!
