Avis Desk is in the middle of International Marketplace. Drop off of car is 24/7 (park in garage on 5th floor in Avis spot), BUT you must return the keys when the office is open. I wish they had a simple key drop box. I parked the car at 10pm and had to return the next morning at 8am just to return the key. Process was easy enough.
Excellent service from Bonnie -thank you!We rented a car for the day to explore the North Shore. Booked online to get the best price. Quick and easy pickup in the morning (8.00 am) and easy drop-off in the evening. The office is open till late (9.30pm) so there’s no rush to get back.Convenient location on the ground floor of The International Marketplace directly opposite the Outrigger Waikiki.
The car was great but the customer experience needs some work. Cars are located on the 5th floor and they dont tell you that you need to take a picture of the mileage and bring the parking voucher down when returning vehicle. I had to go back to the car 5 floors up to get this info for them. The rep (Anne) acted snotty and rude when I told her I didn’t have the mileage or ticket.
Great customer service and the counter reps were very polite and friendly.
Another great place 🐱
After reading the reviews I was turned off from renting from this place but decided to give it a try when we needed to keep the car till later since its open till 9:30pm. Most car rental places in Waikiki close at 7pm. Excellent, quick and informative service. The lady at the desk was so helpful and gave us all the info we needed plus recommended sights we should visit. I honestly regret not renting from here from the start since the night before we were rushing to return the car at 7pm. We didnt have the time to fill the tank and so we got charged extra by the other rental place. Do yourself a favor and rent from this place, at least because you get some extra time for sightseeing.
If you rented at the airport and returning here, the process is not clear. Go to International Marketplace parking garage. Park in an Avis space (or anywhere else if all spaces are taken) on 5th floor. Then record mileage and fuel level with a photo and go to first floor. Attempted to contact location by phone to figure out where to go, they never picked up. Valets helped me figure out where to go.
CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!! If you have flight delays or questions and need to call this place..... sorry, they do not answer the phone. I’ve tried calling for three weeks..... every day. I finally called the mall office where this Avis “desk”is located and was told that there is no other phone number available and that it is a common complaint from customers trying to call this Avis desk. My airline has changed my flight times and I am unable to contact this desk. I called the main Avis number and they tell me to call the “desk” where the reservation is made..... and of course, no answer. I have made backup reservations with Enterprise in case this questionable Avis rental “desk” does not work out. This alleged desk is located at the International Marketplace in Honolulu.
Brother Dennis and all the aunties at Avis international marketplace was a huge help. They’re always looking out for the customers!
Cannot find the location.
They gave us a decent car, but Annie/Anne the lady at the counter was so rude. Me: is the car cleaned up? Her: I do not have a x-ray that goes 5 floors to tell you that. Another lady at the counter seemed much nicer.
I’d give them zero starts if I could. My husband and I went to this location to rent a car and the lady at the desk, Anne, was extremely rude. We kindly asked her a mere question of whether we were at the correct place to rent a car and she responded, “Oh no, I am just here to have fun”. Why would an employee respond in such a condescending way? This is a touristic place visited mostly by people who are not familiar with the area, the minimum expected is that they’d be be somewhat understanding of that fact. How disrespectful and disappointing. We will not be coming back and will share our experience with everyone we know.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Very quick service and had no issues at pick-up and drop-off
Lived up to the reviews, lady behind counter was horrible. If you are trying to return a car here you go into the parking structure, floor 5, look for Avis spots, keep your parking ticket, and remember your mileage. Their desk is on first floor by escalator. If you don’t do all of that, the lady behind the desk will make snide, sarcastic comments under her breath
Bonnie was a super star!! Really nice and helpful made sure we were set for an epic adventure thanks Bonnie!
A friendly reminder: if you choose to return your rental car to here, then you will need to drive up to the 5th floor, then take a picture of your mileage and gas tank, and bring the car key and parking ticket down to the 1st floor where Avis staff are - they are right beside the elevator. The staff were very friendly though.
Go to Alamo. The car was as described. But it was dirty. You have to collect on 5 floor and I thought everything will be fine not the end of the world. But in returning the car we return our bags to the hotel then went to return the car. The contact was not on us when we got to the counter. They said you need the contact you cant return without it. Not interested in helping. So went back to hotel couldnt find contact when back and they spend around 2 mins looking in the computer and found it. I wasted 45 mins when it took them 2. They also were Laughing at us for not having it. And threatened us a 50 no contract fee. Go to Alamo.
That staff were slow and rude. No benefit if you’re a preferred member.
Car was new, clean and ready to go. Staff were well organised.
Very confusing location to find, but once you locate the actual rental office (inside a mall), no problems.
139 for the whole week
The desk is hard to find. If youre on kuhio facing south their desk is at the customer service kiosk just inside the mall entrance.
Rating will change if you answer the phone. I have called 3 times now
We were told we get charged full day if you dont return the key by 3:30 pm. The avis staff told us to return the car by 3 to return the key at the front desk before they close (it used to be anytime) return to the 5th floor and just return the key at the front the next day)I saw my credit card they held 250 credit on my Amex card. The earliest you can pick up the car is 8:15 cause the desk opens at 8 am then you need to return it by 3. Better to rent a car somewhere else! Also the avis didnt even tell us to take a photo of mileage so my husband returned the key but had to go back up to 5th floor to take a photo and get in a long line again. Worst service. We had been renting cars Hyundai was making weird noise when turn and smelled really bad….If you do not return it by 3:30 when the reception is over, you will be charged $ 250. I was credited with credit without permission. My uncle told me to return the car to the garage at 3 oclock because the reception ends at 3:30.I used to be able to return to the 5th floor at my favorite time and return the key the next morning, but maybe it changed in Corona. Considering the traffic jam in Waikiki, it is not possible to return by 3 oclock.
I cant rent a car
