Going from really long hair to really short was a major decision for me. After doing some research, reading reviews, and asking around for recommendations I decided to go to Top Shelf. After a brief discussion with Laura on what I was hoping to achieve, she carefully lopped off my ponytail so I could send it to Locks Of Love, and then she got down to business. A short while later I was presented with my new do, and am very happy with the results! Top Shelf has a new regular client - unless I decide to grow it out again.Super fun and casual atmosphere makes for a relaxing time.

Best place around! If you are sick of the impersonal atmosphere of Great Clips/Sports Clips like I was, I highly suggest giving Top Shelf a try. I have had both LC and Jordan cut my hair and they both do a fantastic job! Clean, friendly, well-run business!

Best Haircut Ever!I am new to Holland, and I researched Google for best local barbershops. That’s how I found Top Shelf - and what a find! Jordan provided an outstanding haircut and shampoo at an excellent price. My wife said my cut was the most professional that she had ever seen. Will definitely recommend this shop - and Jordan - to others.

I have been coming here for over two years now and have loved my experience. Every haircut is perfect. The girls are so easy and fun to talk to and brighten my day every time I come in! They are so welcoming of the LGBT community and I have never felt judged. I will continue to come here every time I need my haircut!

Best cut in town full service if you need it. Reasonable prices and the girls are all friendly here. They also have a hope college discount for the starving student types.

I came from out of town for a wedding, and searched Google for the best barbershop in Holland. This one came up, so I gave it a shot. Most people rush through my haircut, and the results show. I was extremely happy when Justine took her time and did a great job cutting my hair. She provided a great shave as well. I will be sure to stop in for another haircut next time Im in town. Highly recommended!

Its a small shop and the employees are pleasant and friendly. I get a pretty simple haircut so I cant really attest to how skilled they are, but theyve never messed my hair up. Prices are good and its a good atmosphere. Simple and pleasant place to get your monthly cut

Laura and crew always go a great job! I have been coming here since they have opened. It is now a bit of a trip to get here but you cannot be the quality of their work.

It was clean and the employees were nice the prices were not bad. The lady that cut my hair didnt do that great of a job. In my opinion i would not go back for a haircut. They were really nice people tho.

These gals are rough an stuff an spot on. My hubby only gets his hair cut here 9 years running an now living out of state waits until we roll in for a clean up an great laughs. These gals are real. No holds barred. An now our little age 5 is loving the best cuts with thesews gals too. On a whim I had mine chopped an loved the style given. tradionally a barber, but I was more than happy. keep up the great work ladies.

Top shelf is fantastic! I was a devotee back during my years at Hope College, and if Im planning on visiting any time soon, Ill typically let myself get a bit more shaggy than I normally would so that I can stop by and get a top-quality cut.Price-wise (plan to spend around $20, because they deserve a tip), youre better off coming here than any of the other expensive salons around Holland, plus youll have more fun. The girls are great at what they do, theyre funny, irreverent in the best way possible, and they have your best style interests at heart. They talked a 19-year-old me out of a number of dumb cuts that, in retrospect, would have caused me to wear a hat way more often.5/5, love this place. Im coming back in a few weeks.

I asked for a specific haircut, a layered stack, at a specific length. The stylist was apparently appalled that I would choose that length, and I let her convince me to change it. It shouldnt have mattered as Ive had that exact same haircut at a variety of lengths and as long as its layered, it turns out well. Once my hair dried, however, it was obvious she was so thrilled at her victory of changing my mind, she ignored the LAYERED part of the cut. I waited a week or so trying to get used to the big puffy non-layered mess before contacting them to see if there was a charge to get the haircut fixed, and Ive not heard back. So now I have to go somewhere else and pay to get the haircut I specifically asked for and the stylist chose to ignore.

Just an awful experience all around, I have no idea why it has so many good reviews, the haircut was average and the lady who was helping me would second guess my preference for MY haircut. I know how I like my hair done so please keep the comments to yourself
