We highly recommend Captain Chris and the 3 hour shark fishing tour! We are going to plan another Hilton Head trip and next time we want to do the longer 4 hour trip! This was the highlight of our vacation. Chris is fun, nice and informative. He puts up with all my crazy Mom questions. He teaches the boys about fishing which was so much better than any other charter weve been on where the guide casts, hooks and just lets you reel it in. Boy boys ages 15 and 13 loved this trip. Chris is probably the most knowledgable fishing guide you will ever find. We caught at least 20 different things including 4 kinds of sharks, a sting ray, croakers and some other little fishies. Started the day with him showing the boys how to cast a net for live bait. The spot he takes you to is absolutely beautiful too! We literally could have stayed there all day, but we had to share Chris with other families! THANK YOU and we cannot wait to come again.

We had a wonderful time with Captain Chris. We booked a 3 hour kids fishing trip and spent about an hour or so boating around and hearing about the history of the area. Captain Chris was very educational and entertaining and taught us how to look for bait and we even saw dolphins feeding. Once we started fishing, Chris was able to put us on some fish, including a very nice red fish that just about wore out our 11 year old daughter. It put up quite a fight. We saw Nick the dolphin very close. Captain Chris was on time and very respectful to us and to nature. We plan to book a longer fishing trip with him next and plan to make this a yearly thing. I would highly recommend him and his services.

Captain Chris was an amazing host! He takes time to get to know your family, what you’re interested in, and will tell you all about it! This was the best dolphin watching boat tour that Ive have EVER been on!! They were able to fit my family of 5 on with only a few days notice. Chris, our captain, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the sealife. He was able to get us close to numerous pods of dolphins. We even managed to see a baby that was just born. Chris was also very thoughtful. My grandparents, who are in their 70s and 80s, were treated with respected and consideration. We recommend Captain Chris to everyone who visits Hilton Head! He is a Master Low-Country Naturalist and his fishing/crabbing/adventure tours are phenomenal. We went on a tour with him 5 years ago and that was amazing! This time was even better. Both trips were the highlights of our vacations! This time we caught 5-6 different species of sharks, a few different species of crabs, red fish, and all the different species of bait fish. Completely astounding! And he made it SO enjoyable for our kids, giving them extra information in a way that kept their attention and left them amazed as well. It was awesome! We can’t wait to go again!

We went on a boat tour with Captain Chris yesterday and if youre in the area do NOT miss out on this chance to do so as well! The captain is SO fun to talk to and hang out with, hes incredibly smart and quick witted, the way he drives his boat is like second nature to him, plus his passion for nature, wildlife and educating people is truly inspiring. My 2 kids, husband, and I went on the 3 hour in-shore shark fishing trip with Captain Chris, and it was the best part of our trip to HHI. Seeing the dozens on dolphins, catching croakers, 2 black tip reef sharks(about a ft long), and an almost 5 ft fine tooth shark is something we will never forget. Captain Chris navigated the boat to 2 different locations so that we could make our catch. The ride wasn’t rocky, which was great because we were worried about getting nauseous. We went at 7:45am and the weather was perfect. Captain Chris was very knowledgeable and made the whole trip entertaining. It’s hard these days to keep 10 and 11 yr olds entertained enough so that they don’t want to be on electronics/phones (🙄) and this adventure definitely made them forget about them!

This was our second trip with Captain Chris. We love how engaging he makes it for the kids (ours are 8 and 11 yo). We like hearing all his knowledge of the natural area we pass through. We’ll keep coming back!

I looked into to several different fishing trips before deciding on Capt Chris, I really liked that is was a one on one experience instead of 100 people on a big charter boat! We had never done a fishing trip so we didnt really know what to expect, Capt Chris went above and beyond any and all expectations! It was my kids ages 4, 7, 10 and my husband and I on the trip. It has been 7 months since our trip and my kids have not stopped talking about it! Every fish my 4 yr old caught he named George, he still talks about all of his George fish! They caught several fish, sharks and even a stingray! While we were on our way out, Sandy the dolphin swam right beside the boat and it was so amazing for her to be that close. Capt Chris was so patient with the kids and so knowledgeable, we could not have ask for a better experience! We are looking forward to our next trip and have already said an excursion with Capt Chris is a must do every time in Hilton Head!!

As city slickers, we were in great hands with Captain Chris. My son and I had a fantastic time out on the water, learned a lot about the ecology of the HHI area and - most importantly - caught fish that we could make for lunch. My son is ASD, and Chris was wonderful with him - encouraging him as he reeled in a black tip reef shark. As soon as we were back on dry land and headed home, my son asked how soon we could go fishing again with Captain Chris. If thats not a ringing endorsement, I dont know what is. What an awesome day! I was visiting with my Sister, niece, nephew and Mother. Chris made everyone on the boat feel at ease. I have been fishing on boats for years but it can be a bit daunting for people who aren’t used to it. No worries, Captain Chris has it covered. I learned so much while he was teaching the kids. We saw countless dolphins and learned how to catch baitfish in a net. The real treat for me was catching a beautiful Redfish/drum! Three hours passed so quickly. Would love to go back on a fishing charter at some point.

Highly recommend scheduling your fishing charter with Captain Chris. Great communication before and after scheduling the trip. We caught a bunch of different species of sharks and Chris told us about each. Had a 16, 14, and 10 year old on the trip. Our 10 year old is typically extremely shy talking with new people...by the end of the trip they were like old pals. Chris is a skilled fisherman and guide...but also has a great attitude and personality.

We just went on a 3 hour kids fishing trip with Chris this morning. He was so great I had to get on here right away and leave a review. My husband had booked the wrong date accidentally and Chris was able to fit us in his busy schedule last minute so my 6 year old could still experience a fun fishing trip. Chris was very knowledgable about all of the wildlife as well as some of the history of Hilton Head and surrounding islands. He was very patient with my shy and quiet 6 year old. We all had a great time and would definitely go out with Chris again next time we are in town!

Amazing experience with Captain Chris! We saw so many birds, lighthouses and dolphins including the dolphins feeding in the intercostal waterway. What is really nice is that you are so close in his boat versus being in a large boat high above the water. Truly a one of a kind experience for our family!

We had an amazing adventure with Captain Chris! He was entertaining, helpful, and very patient with my 6 year old son. Having grown up in HHI, Captain Chris is knowledgable about the area flora and fauna and very respectful of the wildlife. We saw several species on our trip including several types of fish, jellyfish, dolphins, and even a stingray; experienced the ups and downs of fishing (never say off when a shark is on the line!); and got to collect some souvenir seashells. Well definitely be booking again on our next trip.

July 6 We booked a tour with Captain Chris and our grandkids and WOW what an experience the kids had, Captain Chris taught the kids had to fish and fetch fresh bait, it all paid off as the kids caught fish and each landed a shark. He was amazing and I would highly recommend Island Ace Adventure Tours. A bonus Captain Chris introduced us to Nick the friendly Bottle nose dolphin :)

Captain Chris provided an amazing experience for our family. Our boys (12 and 13), as well as our 4 year old daughter were able to all learn by being hands on. He was extremely patient, explained the whys of everything he showed us and gave us historical information of the island. I am forever grateful for these memories and experience. We booked a 3 hour shark fishing tour on Thursday June 27 during our vacation at HHI.Captain Chris was a fantastic captain and fishing guide. My father, my 11 year old son and 13 year old daughter had an absolute blast. We all caught some big sharks as well as some other smaller fish. We never went more than 5 or 10 minutes without some yelling fish on! My son even got to be the boat captain on the way back helping steer the boat. Captain Chris gave us an amazing experience that exceeded our expectations. We booked a 4 hour fishing tour for myself, my 8 year son and my father in law. Communication was fast and efficient. This experience was authentic, and catered to us. We learned so much about the area. We started our trip by catching some bait fish, and enjoying all the wildlife around is. Once we had some bait we were looking for the big ones. We fished several different ways and areas and caught a wide range of creatures, both the adults and kids got to fish and Chris did all the dirty work. Chris was amazing with my son, taking time to show him the how and why of fishing. He left a big impression on a budding fisherman. It is rare you find someone who is so good with kids. We will be looking Chris up next time we come back for more adventures

Highly recommend Chris for a dolphin tour! It was February and we wanted to see dolphins. Chris knew where to find them. Taught us all about the locals vs migrants, their feeding patterns, and how they hunt. Toward the evening hours we watched them hunt in the creek, working in pairs to herd the fish close to the shoreline. We had a fun day. We had our 3 kids with us. Chris was great with the kids, and they all had turns driving the boat. Chris was very knowledgeable and I’d imagine he does great fishing tours also.

I brought my two kids (13 and 9) wanting them to have a great time and they did. He kept us on fish and kept the whole trip entertaining. We will definitely repeat on our next trip.

This boat tour was the highlight of our vacation. Captain Chris was great! He was awesome with our two young kids and knows the area very well. He created a unique boat tour for our specific request - shark fishing, dolphin watching, and beach-combing tour. Since it is a small company and being busy season, we had to follow-up with setting up the time, but we were able to do so through text and email. We highly recommend this company!

Great trip with Captain Chris. He is knowledgeable of the area and teaches the kids about fishing. Very informative and great with young ones. We did well fishing. Caught several reds and showed the kids how to catch bait. Only slight issue is nailing down the trip. I had to call and email several times. Once you are locked in it is a great time.

Ive been out with a lot of boat captains and I must say that Captain Chris was at the top! I went on the 3 hour shark fishing adventure and it didnt take long to get the first one on the line! We caught several and had a great time. The only thing that may have been better than the fishing was the conversation. Captain Chris is very knowledgeable of the island and a great guide!

Captain Chris took a group of us out and not only was it fun, but we learned so much about the lowcountry waters and the life that lives here! It was a perfect work outing! Our family of four had a great time with Captain Chris. My kids caught croakies, sting ray, sharks, spot fish, and a huge red fish. The time flew by and Captain Chris was knowledgable and worked well with the kids.

I called 2 months before our trip. I had tried to email and never got a response. Called again and he finally answered. We talked about the kid package because we have 3 children. Then he said adults do not fish on that package, so we went up to the 4 hour inland tour. So I gave him credit information and asked if it would be billed. He said no it was just for a deposit to hold the time. He asked about a back up date in case of bad weather. I said that would be the only time we could go due to traveling the next day.I tried calling this week to confirm appointment because I hadnt heard anything. No answer and never returned my calls. I called this morning as we were trying to find the location because the one listed on website was not the physical address. He said we didnt have anything booked and then continued to be rude saying he remembered our conversation and that it wasnt a good conversation. I asked if he had anything available and he said no. I told him that I remembered giving my credit card information because I had asked if we would be billed that day or if it was just to hold the spot. He said he didnt have anything on file. He then said that sometimes he gets a feeling about who he doesnt want to take on his boat. So instead of him admitting to forgetting to hold our trip, he became insulting and rude. Glad that others had a good time; we never even got to have a time!

Ive been out with Captain Chris for a number of years for repeat trips and my kids love going out on the water with him. His boats are clean and he really knows how to have a great time. STRONGLY RECOMMEND CAPTAIN CHRIS!

My boys (age 13 and 6) and I went on a fishing excursion with Chris today and had a GREAT experience. My sons had never so much as picked up a rod before 2:00 this afternoon. I hadn’t fished since the early Reagan administration. Chris did a wonderful job of showing us the ropes, explaining tips & tricks of fishing, and generally being patient with three novices. We also learned quite a bit about local wildlife from someone who has been a HHI resident for years. My sons caught a silver perch, a redfish, a lady fish, and a whiting, and a baby Atlantic Sharpnosed Shark. They were thrilled! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was a fantastic trip... my wife was very uneasy about going... she had never been saltwater fishing before. We got out there and started fishing I went stright to fishing like Id done many times and he spent the time to show her how to fish and when she caught her first fish he took the time to explain what kind of fish it was, and his character never changed during the whole trip. Captain chris donent do it just for the money he dose it for the preservation of the wildlife. I will never fish with another fishing charter on hilton head captain chris has my business for a life time

We had a tremendous time with Chris on the 3 hour dolphin/beachcomber tour. This was the highlight of our week vacation to HHI. Chris knew all the key spots to go to ensure we had the best experience and my kids (9, 6, and 2) all learned something while having a lot of fun. Once in a lifetime viewing of dolphin pods strand feeding in the marsh, collecting shells and sand dollars on the vanishing island, and he even took some time to show the kids how to cast nets for bait fish and shrimp. Awesome tour and I highly recommend his business.

We wanted a fishing trip geared for kids & this was perfect for our 5 & 7 year olds; Captain Chris was great & they actually caught several sharks, one almost as big as the 5 year old which was a highlight of our vacation! We have booked another trip with Chris again this summer & cant wait!

I have been out with Capt. Chris several times and each time is a unique adventure! He offers custom adventures tours which makes his boat tours great for all ages! Capt. Chris is a true naturalist and is very knowledgeable about Hilton Head Island and the wildlife seen there. He is able to identify a huge variety of shore birds, fish, and marine mammals which call Hilton Head home. Capt. Chris is able to provide tours including: beachcombing, trips to the sand bar or Daufuskie Island, dolphin watching, birding, inshore fishing for kids and families and many other custom boat tours. Practically anything under the sun is possible!Recently, my family and I got the opportunity to go out with Capt. Chris. My family opted for a Dolphin/Nature tour with a boat ride to Daufuskie Island. There were six of us total and ages ranged from teens to mid-50’s. Capt. Chris is a very personable guy and has stories for all occasions. He is very entertaining and knows how to keep the conversation rolling! He is very good with kids! On this particular trip, my family and I really wanted to see dolphin strand feeding, a dolphin feeding behavior that is unique to Hilton Head. Capt. Chris was optimistic about our chances due to his knowledge concerning dolphins, the tides, and bait fish. Before too long the captain had us in a narrow creek within the Calibogue Sound with lots of muddy banks. As if on cue, the dolphins whom we’d been watching started herding the fish onto the shore, stranding themselves in the process of scoring a tasty meal! We watched the dolphins from a safe distance as to not interrupt them. Capt. Chris was very good at describing the behavior and for keeping my family calm while we continued to watch the dolphins and take photos. We watched the dolphins practice the behavior maybe 7-10 times! Needless to say, we were thrilled to have had the chance to witness such a magical experience. Simply breathtaking. After my family and I had our fill of dolphins it was off to Daufuskie. Part of my family lives on Hilton Head but less than half of us had made the trip to the smaller historic island off the coast of Hilton Head. We had a nice lunch on the island and enjoyed our time there. It’s been many months since this particular trip, but my family is still talking about our time with Capt. Chris! It was a great experience and will stay in our memories for years to come! Well worth the money!I have also used Capt. Chris to charter several inshore fishing trips. While you aren’t likely to catch huge great white sharks, the possibility of other varieties of shark are possible and if you like catching Red Fish, Capt. Chris is your guy. He has a ton of inshore fishing experience and is very knowledgeable when deciding where to fish in certain seasons or tides, where to find the proper bait for whatever fish you are targeting, which rods and reels to use, etc. I am an amateur when it comes to fishing, but Capt. Chris was able to guide me in catching my first fish! We caught several nice Bonnet Head Shark and Red Fish among other varieties. The captain was able to fillet the fish right on board and put it in our cooler for a nice dinner later. Capt. Chris is also very patient when it comes to fishing with kids. He is able to guide them and captures their attention very well. I highly recommend booking with Capt. Chris for any of your inshore fishing and boating needs!

I emailed this charter about making a reservation and gave several dates as options. He got right back to me and suggested one of the dates. I emailed back asking about payment. He emailed back responding and asking for a phone number to which I emailed a response. I went to the website to get the address to meet him at the date and time he suggested and 2 days later when we arrived that morning (3 kids in tow for the kids trip) I called to confirm we were in the right location but he said he hadnt confirmed our trip and wasnt coming. I cant speak to his charter ability as we didnt get to go out with him but on the subsequent charter with a nice captain who picked us up at the last minute, we heard it wasnt the first time he stood people up at the dock.

We had fabulous experience with Captain Chris. We highly recommend him. We did the three hour fishing trip but it was so much more. It was also a nature tour. Chris is very knowledgeable of local birds and other animals. Captain Chris was great working with our teen. We loved out trip. Plus everyone was successful fishing.
