I just wanted to send a shout out to San, our leasing manager/consultant. He is the NICEST person ever and was super easy to work with. He was quick to reply, very honest, very understanding, and was there each step of the way during the leasing process and answered any questions/concerns that we had. I can tell that he really cares about his potential tenants, listens closely, and is very attentive to their needs. Also, the apartments themselves are gorgeous. I love the greenery feeling in the middle of the city, the grounds are kept clean and are beautifully landscaped, and the units themselves look amazing. I am so excited to move there soon and I love the location! I feel like I found gold/hidden treasure in Hillsboro. Thanks San and Team :)

My partner and I took a tour of this beautiful place and looked at one of the units. I fell inlove right away. I love the apartment unit. We’re currently staying in another apartment complex and our contract is soon to expire and we have no plan to extend our stay here. I really want to move in to Commons at Verandas but unfortunately their price went up. Would there be a probability prices will go down in the next 3 months? 😢

Just have to say, this leasing team is wonderful to work with. Even with the Pandemic, Kaci, Rachel, San and the rest of the office are friendly and kind. They get back to any of my emails prompt with information I need/ask for. Always happy to help with our packages, and be patient with us as we needed an extra day to move out.Our family moved in right when Covid first shut down (2020). Our apartment was beautiful and easily the nicest place we have ever rented so far. Great neighbors. The grounds are kept nice all the time! The roofs have just been redone looking good!We lucked out and rented a unit near the dumpster and recycling bin. Yes, there is only one area but those moving out or getting rid of furniture and other household goods leave them out on the concrete sometimes. You could always find nice freebies once in a while! LolGreat location to go to parks, go on walks, workout, go to restaurants, go to a dog park, and shop! We lived near just about anything.Pools were clean when they re-opened this year. Our two children enjoyed swimming with friends who lived next door.Loved that rent and utilities were always one price and you can view it online to pay. So easy!We didnt have any huge issues in the apartment, maintenance requests were slim. Like replacing a heat lamp light bulb for a restroom or fixing the garbage disposable for us. The only one that happened a bunch was pantry/laundry/bathroom doors slipped off the track. But not a big deal to us.We enjoyed our time there, though Covid kicked out buts financially over the last year. And at renew we couldnt afford our rent increase. Had to move out and find another place.Thank you Verandas!

I’m in building 23, lived here a few years now and I’m very happy with management. Especially within the last few months. They seem to have really stepped it up. Extremely professional. All of the staff from the office to maintenance to grounds keeping are exceptional. They are very friendly, explain things well, professional, and prompt. Any emails I send are always answered within a couple hours, and the phone is always answered between 3 and 5 rings. My maintenance requests have all been resolved within 2 to 3 days of submitting them, and my only urgent request was handled the same day. The grounds keeping here is outstanding. Everything is always very well maintained and orderly. Even the trash area is well upkept. There is never overflowing trash, or debris near the trash area. The apartments themselves are quiet, and it definitely lives up to the parkside living they claim. The craftsmanship in the apartments is also very good. We dont have any complaints about living here. I have lived in several apartment complexes in 3 different states, and this is the first time I have truly enjoyed where I live.

Im currently up for a lease renewal and am disappointed that my current renewal offer is at a rate higher than their current advertised rate for new residents. I thought a pandemic or prior rental history would be a consideration to match their advertised rate, or at the least be given the ability to submit an application for the lower rate unit... But I guess I have no options...**update - thank you Kaci for not raising my rent during a pandemic but offering new tenants lower rates.

Have lived in lots of apartments over the past 25 years and have never felt moved enough to want to write a review for any of them until now.My apartment is gorgeous. Hardwood floors, my bedroom is gigantic, my ceiling is fifteen feet tall and my bathroom is so big I could almost lay down twice in a row and still fit inside of it. I also love all the storage space - I have seven closets / storage spaces total in my one bedroom apartment! I mean where can you find that? Really!? Its awesome. I have a walk-in pantry and a walk-in bedroom closet and a storage closet in my bathroom and on my balcony that are bigger than my entire bedroom closet at my last apartment, a coat closet by the front door and another closet by my dining room. I probably would have needed a storage space but because of the space in my place I was able to save that money. The water pressure is great, the appliances and condition of my place is perfect and new or like new, the sound insulation which is very important to me is amazing. The management are awesome. Tandem property management is notorious for shuffling their employees from property to property after just a month or two, but I havent found that to be the case here as most of the onsite staff has been here the entire year I have, and they rock! Tandem should read this review and give them a raise or do something really nice for them - after all, if they are taking care of your customers well enough to prompt me to write my first review of any place I have ever lived in twenty five years then they are taking care of your company so if not a raise maybe a fabulous catered lunch for them or something eh?! ;-)Changed from five to three stars when they ripped me off and sent me to collections saying I ruined the carpet that looked exactly the same as it did when I moved in there. I even called right after I moved in and talked to them about it saying what bad shape it was in and how I wanted it noted that I called how bad it was and wanted them to come look at it which they never did.

The ambiance was very serene as well, with a lot of trees surrounding our building. Being walking distance from the Tanasbourne market area was a plus as well :DAlso, the office staff members, Hailey, Carly and Kaitlin, were extremely friendly and professional. I do not live at the Verandas apartment, but have visited all of the local Apartment Complexes numerous times. The verandas offer many apartment choices and variations, all of which are relatively new and recently built. They are pretty spacey I have seen up go four people live in an apartment. I would imagine for mosst of their apartments anything over 3 is a little close to comfort. But then again thats up to your culture, preference, and opinion. Some of them stack quite nicely on top of each other, better fluidity compared to others Ive seen. I have not met anyone who has complained about this complex, also they have a very socially active clubhouse from what Ive seen.

The apartments are very nice and roomy and area is quiet and clean. Management office is very nice and helpful. The only thing that is a bother is that the garbage disposal is not close by and we have to drive with all garbage and recycling to garbage disposal area (there is only one for whole apartment complex). I understand why so they can better control smell and quantity of it, but we just have to deal with it. I lived at this apartment complex for a year and the overall experience was a positive one. There were few inconveniences that bothered me personally (may not for those doing research):- The walls were thin so when its dead silent outside (mainly in the evening), I heard my neighbors conversations, washing machine, TV, and music. Tough to ignore once I started noticing it, unfortunately.- Car parking was very challenging after arriving home from work.- The one dedicated spot for trash/recycling was out of the way but doable, it was something I needed to plan accordingly like taking them out while on my way to work as an example.- Like the previous reviewer, the gym is minimal. It has treadmills for cardio but very limited resistance training (only 4 machines).- I often have friends/family over to visit me so I often had to get guest passes so my friends/family could park their car in the parking spots. My experience with Verandas office staff was amazing. They were very friendly and I felt very welcome. Also, I did not have issue with the maintenance staff, although there were few days turnaround when you place a request for help/repair.My move in and move out were also positive. I received majority of my deposit back after moving out. Only thing that was obligated was carpet cleaning that had to be deducted. I often cleaned my apartment to ensure I would leave the place like when I first moved back in.Thank you for your time in reading my review.

This is truly the worst place I have ever lived. We paid a full months rent and a pet deposit (over 1500 dollars), and they straight up lost it. When we moved out they charged us 1300 dollars to replace the carpet. Which they claimed had pet stains in every room including ones the pets never went in. This complex is huge, and the office staff cant keep track of anything. There are plenty of apartments in the area, and they are all better than this one.

I stayed there for about 2 years. It was a fine stay. But towards the end it felt like they wanted to drive us out, to get new tenants. It kinda left us with a bad taste at the end. The trash dumpster is faaaaaaaaaar away. You cant leave anything out in your patio. Then why do we have it? lol. Eventually, they will lose out to newer apartments in the area like 206 etc, which provide lot of amenities which Verandas will never have. A little unfriendly staff in their office and they just look for an opportunity to overcharge you, during move out cleaning etc. Tenant satisfaction is very low on their list.I came to know many of their apartments were unoccupied (2018 season) after they drove many existing tenants out by rising rents just for the sake of it. One of my friends moved into the apartment I left and supposedly they only took it because they got it for

We moved here from another Tandem complex under a very attractive deal. We have four young kids making the use of the tiny outdoor area available they call a patio during the rainy days (a lot recently) required for everyones sanity. This company does not allow us to keep a few child toys outside for that purpose. I feel like they are intruding into our privacy by itemizing even the few we thought would be OK that they could only see by walking the 5 feet on the grass toward the patio and over the bushes. This place does not care about our safety or maintenance of the apartments. We will be leaving as soon as we can.

I have had good experiences with people in the office which lead to my decision of signing a lease here. Unfortunately after my experience with the regional manager, my boyfriend and I will never recommend this property nor will we renew our lease. We are only in the second month here, how unfortunate is that? She did not realize that I was a resident when I called because I represented myself over the phone as someone who works from a business. She rudely rushed me off the phone because she insisted that she did not have time considering she had people sitting at her desk already before taking the call. My question is why even answer the phone if you have current or future resident in front of you? Also why retaliate when Im calling you out on poor customer service? The regional manager did not address the issue of being rude to me, in fact she turned it around and called my business to say that I was being disrespectful for coming in (while off the clock) and addressing the phone call experience as I did mention that I am a resident. Its just really unfortunate because I have had people tell me horrible experiences they have had here and I decided to give them an opportunity to change my outlook. I think whats even worse is the fact that when they contact my business which is nearby, we are always treating their request as urgent and give them a helping hand even if it doesnt benefit my business.

Would leave zero stars if i could. If youre considering moving here, DONT! the miscommunication between management in the office is horribly unbelievable. I get a different answer each time. Their screening process is a joke. Even if you have proper paperwork and meet all of their criteria ( no criminal background, no evictions, proper income requirements etc)they will eat up your application fees and tell you to wait 40 days for thier screening company to review your dispute because thier company, yardy, is not diligent and thorough enough during thier original screening. Meanwhile they put your apartment back on market and raise the rental price while you wait on them to get THEIR stuff together. What a joke! The apartment does smell like curry. parking was not good. Nothing mangement can say will excuse my horrible experience with this apartment complex. My husband and I lived in the Commons at Verandas Hillsboro for 3 years.Pros: good location, maintenance was timely in our experience, and have decent amenities.Cons: Apartment staff consistently turned over, there are always new people working whom do not know what theyre doing. We had numerous problems with our packages being lost or they would show up a couple days later and staff is less then accommodating in this aspect. If you have noisey neighbors there is literally nothing you can do about it. Staff leaves passive notes on your door rather then sending emails or giving phone calls (even when its important like rent - lets hope that passive note doesnt blow away in the wind or gets soaked in the rain).Speaking of rent - we set up automatic payments but out of no where shut off even though the website said it was still working. No one let us know until almost 1.5 weeks later our rent didnt go through then tried to make us pay late charges.. fortunately we kept a copy of our lease since it was our first offense we were able to wave those fees.Definitely keep a copy of your lease and READ it. We have had a few instances where even the office didnt realize something that was in the lease and saved us from whatever fees.Other then management and not getting help from the staff the aparements themselves were fine to live in.

If you are living in these apartments, be wary about going on vacations, as they will find a way to add fines to your tab while you are out. Thought this would happen and made sure to let the front office know before I left for vacation, but still racked up fine. They chose to ignore it and now they are questioning when did i give them the notice (learn from mistake, keep it in writing always).A dried up plant for them is qualified as a trash. Hard to believe but excuse they found to call it trash is that the plant is not grown in a pot, rather in a bigger plastic box, which i have unfortunately done so to give the plant more breathing room. Not sure why that is not categorized as trash when i am actually present all those months in the apartment!! Also i never signed any addendum that says to only grow plants in pots...

My rating just keeps getting lower and lower. It started at a 4. The staff never seem to be on the same page. Different staff have told me different things on different occasions that are conflicting. Ive been in arguments with them on multiple occasions on what I was told and what I was now being told. This is very annoying since it has costed me time and money. It happened when moving in. One staff member told me one amount I got there and the amount was 10cents off. They would not accept my payment over a dime. I then had to drive all the way back and refund my money order for a new money order and drive back again.I was also reported for not having outdoor furniture on my patio. However, the two chairs I have were found in the Target outdoor furniture area. Are they not outdoory enough? One thing that frustrates me the most is the parking. It is limited. After 8pm it is very hard to find a spot near your apartment. I looked into getting a garage and covered parking however every single one was taken that was near my apartment. What good is that? Much of the covered parking is not being used, but according to their records it is. Something strange going on. I also believe that they limit the regular parking in order to force tenants to buy their overpriced reserved parking. This place has central garbage disposal. Unless you live next to it the disposal is far away. All of the old existing garbage areas are no longer used. They can make each one of these into two or three more parking spots. Yet, they are to busy looking on patios for violations. These are not luxury apartments. Do not be fooled by the pictures everything is as cheap as you can get. The microwave would not fit my square plates.New policy states you can no longer have window air conditioning. You must now fork out the money for one of the inefficient portable ones. Those cost more and dont cool as well. Dont they know that they are increasing electricity costs? Now they arent being reasonable with wear and tear on the apartment after I moved out. I hung a TV on the wall and it had some holes. Also a small section of a corner the paint is not perfect because my couch bumped it. They patch holes and paint anyway so what is the issue. You can see how everything is smothered in paint and the terrible patch jobs their maintenance crew does. They apparently dont know what sand paper is. After all this is normal prep for next tenant yet Im being charged $25. I know what is involved in fixing this. This place is pathetic. I would avoid all tandem properties. They also charge no matter what for carpet cleaning. Nothing will save you from this. It is in the application read it closely. They also do not accept any form of online payment after you have left the place. I was informed I owed money, but I needed a check or money order to be sent to them. Also by the time I could send it and it would get to them they submitted it to collections anyway. I would have paid the measly $90 if they would run my card. That small amount of money isnt worth it.Isnt it 2018? What is there problem?Just search tandem properties in google.

Make sure you ask a LOT of questions and be willing to do a lot of footwork yourself if there are any speed bumps, they barely communicated with me at all. I ended up having to do most of the screening process myself!Youll be paying a $10 fee for garbage, but you just have to hope youre near the compactor, otherwise expect a long and arduous walk. The little dumpster sites near the buildings arent actually used for disposal, I dont know if they ever were. Ask about this when you do the initial viewing cause they leave that part out if you dont ask, I guess. Its $50 for each key card to the gym, although it costs nothing to program them, regardless of how many tenants there are. Ive seen one complex that does this as well, and one that doesnt, so its a choice on the part of the company. No big deal if you live on your own or if youre the only one of your roommates who would use the gym.$30 for water is not bad for a full house - the water heaters are very small, so plan your laundry, dishwashing, and showering accordingly. Water pressure is good though.A lot of people dont like the staff it seems but my experience with them was fine overall. They were just as confused about the screening process as I was it seems like, although they did argue with me a couple of times instead of taking my advice, until I forced the issue and proved I was correct. You have to really lay it out clearly and go the extra mile there in cases like that. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, the apartments are really nice, the carpet is great for being barefoot - a lot of apartment carpet is that super short pile budget carpet - and the closets have lots of space. If you walk or use transit youll need to do some planning, the two closest grocery stores are about a 20 minute walk, and the 48 and 47 buses are hourly most of the day. Close to two parks, so if youre an out-doorsy type youll like that.Walls are plain white standard apartment walls, if you want to not go insane (white walls are clinically proven heighten stress responses) then feel free to paint but the lease states not specific fee against it on moving out, just as billed, which means they use a contractor so expect it to be a hefty fee. Thats a matter of taste and resources, and common to the mid-range apartment communities. That its on the lease is tacit approval to paint, though, and a lot of places outright forbid painting the walls. So its a net plus if white walls drive you crazy. All in all not a terrible move in experience, though it was crunched into a day due to the screening process that dragged on for two weeks. Im happy to be moved in now, and were fortunate to be in a building near the trash receptacle. Should be a good year.

Recently Seperated from my Fiance and I needed to find an Apartment in the Beaverton/Hillsboro Area and Did some online Looking, I found Commons @ Verandas and Really enjoyed the reviews I read and enjoyed their facilities along with the Luxury type feel of what I was after, I sent in my application Via Online Payed the App fee and a way they went.I was Contacted By one of their Leasing agents CJ and she was more than helpful! She did everything over email with me because I work too damn much to physically walk in and apply in person, I faxed or emailed over all the necessary documents they needed and CJ made it the easiest most no Back and forth experience Ive been in thus far for Apartment Applying!I recommend anyone who is also looking for an apartment in the Washington Co. area go see The Friendly helpful staff at Commons at Verandas!CJ was amazing!!!!!!! Treat this place like the plague and stay away! Worst place I have ever lived, and I have rented a lot of places in 6 states and 2 provinces. The management is the worst part of it so that will let you know what living here can be like when you have to rely on these people. Save yourself the headaches and look elsewhere before it is too late and you find out the hard way. And the condition of the apartment, and complex, dont justify the rent amounts, which also just went up again to cover the cost of having to fix supposedly remodeled apartments so that they will pass a simple housing inspection, which apparently they would fail right now. Current construction and associated intrusion into our lives has been ongoing for a couple of months and is still being done. So much for moving into a luxury remodeled apartment. And now that maintenance just came in to put cosmetics on this run down building in an attempt to upgrade it did nothing but leave dirty shoe prints everywhere including my bathroom rug and left the door unlocked. No sense going to the office to let them know because they certainly arent going to give a damn, especially when they have been known to lie right to your face while feigning caring.

Outside Hallways are always a mess, garbage, lent and other items and no one comes to clean it. When I have guests over they always mention this and are surprised considering the area. Submitted a maintenance request for a new washer, days later a new washer came, new instructions left inside and washer wasnt working. You would think they would test the new washer before issuing it to its residents and not leaving instructions inside. Im dont know how to install washers .
