Schwartz and Nagel is an excellent full service automotive shop.Ive been using them for years and have found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Had 4 new tires installed at Schwartz and Nagle four days ago. This is the only tire and mechanical place I take my business to and been doing it for a number of years. They are professional and excellent at what they do along with being trustworthy. Unlike many other services, Schwartz and Nagle is always looking out for their customers needs. I could not place my 1998 Lexus GS 300 in better hands than Matt and his crew. My Oakhurst Lexus dealer failed me and was both insulting as to why I wanted to repair my beloved car and strongly suggested I give up on repairs.I could not find a better place to care for my car than Schwartz and Nagel. Thank you for your outstanding service! They arranged for towing to their place and even drove my car back to my place after the repairs.

Schwartz and Nagle provides the highest quality work in a timely fashion. My car required a part that isn’t made anymore and the piece failed. Josef the manager took care to obtain another part and called me when it arrived. No inconvenience at all. Then they stood behind their work and did not charge me for the 2nd repair. Typical of their commitment to top notch service. I value this business in Highland Park.

Ive been having my cars serviced here for years. As many reviewers have said, they are honest, friendly, fair, and competent. What I like the most is that when I have a problem, they explain it well, and work with me to find any cost effective alternatives if there are any. I also get my tires here:). I really appreciate Ricks customer service approach. He has set up a very nice waiting room with a TV that you can mute or change. He supports the local artists by hanging their work in the waiting room, which is a nice touch. You will not be disappointed when you bring your cars here.

Really great services and super accommodating staff! Always there to answer my questions honestly and very great at communicating. Brought my car in to get my tire pressure checked without an appointment and they took my car in right away, checked everything and even replaced my air caps for free.Love getting my oil changes here and feel comfortable getting any other work done to my car here as well.Will continue to go here as long as I live in the area and will refer many car owners here as well.

Ive brought my car there 3 times in the past six months all for different problems and each time I was thrilled with the service I received. They are honest and reasonable, and the issues were completely fixed. One of the times they even referred me back to the dealer for something that was still under warranty. They could have easily fixed it themselves and charged me for it. I know youll be pleased when you bring your car here. Weve been customers for well over 10 years.

Rick and James were both a pleasure to deal with. Rick has a lot of knowledge of his equipment and was very informative on how it works and what things to look for. Prices are beyond fair, I came in for a tire rotation and a road force balance and was expecting $100+. Ended up being $66 out the door. James kept me up to speed with any issues they found on the car and made his recommendations. Overall will be returning when I purchase new wheels/tires.

Great service, super friendly staff. My fiancé and I have been taking our many cars here for years and they have never failed to diagnose and fix any and all problems. They are always up front about pricing and transparent about what repairs are necessary versus cosmetic. What finally prompted me to write this review was James going above and beyond this morning to save me money and time. He was so helpful and honest when discussing major issues with my vehicle’s engine and I really appreciate his tact. Brian also gave five star service this morning and it is good to know my car is in capable hands. The waiting room is pleasant with free coffee, water, and a remote to the TV and service is fast. We love Schwartz and Nagle and trust them wholeheartedly with our cars.

This was my first visit to this repair facility and Im extremely impressed with the level of service you receive here. I had my repairs completed in no time at all and at price that fits my budget but that did not compromise quality. The best thing is the level of interaction that Rick and Josif have with you, from beginning to end, they keep you updated on everything including exact work needed and pricing and timing. They even saved me quite a bit on something that I swore needed to be done, but didnt! Its a neighborhood shop with neighborhood qualities, which is extremely rare these days. I have been a customer at Schwartz and Nagle for over 25 years. They have always provided great service and competitive prices.There are a few instances where the folks at Schwartz and Nagle have gone above and beyond your typical service station. About 15 years ago my husband, a soldier in the US Army, and I, were stationed in Italy and our Plymouth Voyager needed a new starter. There were not many internet sources for car parts back then, and none were willing to ship car parts to our APO address. I called Schwartz and Nagle and told them my situation and they went out of their way to find the part and ship it to me in Italy. I then had our local on-post garage install it for me. I was good-to-go within about 1 ½ weeks. This would have taken over a month through the normal channels!More recently, I needed new tires for my Toyota Sienna. We are back in the States but we live a little further from Central NJ now so I tried buying them online, thinking I would get the cheapest price. The few places I searched were out of the Michelin tires I was looking for in the size I needed. I contacted Schwartz and Nagle to see if they could help me out. They did, and the tires were no more expensive than buying them online, and I had them installed within a week.Schwartz and Nagle is an honest, reliable automotive shop. They have been in business as long as I can remember, which is saying something all by itself. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing any type of help with their car!

I went in for a brake inspection, after another local mechanic told me without much explanation that my front brake pads and rotors needed an urgent replacement. Believable, given both my cars mileage and the fact that the brake warning light was on, but I wanted a second opinion before moving forward.These guys did a thorough check up, test drove my car, and not one but two of them came back to me to explain in detail what they had found out, concluding that no replacement was needed at that time. They resolved the brake warning light by topping off the brake fluid.They put in easily 30 minutes of work, which they charged me *nothing* for. Considering that they knew what the other mechanic had said to me before, I could not have hoped for a more honest treatment. Unlike some of their competitors, they are also very courteous in person as well as responsive via email.

I never review anything but I had to review this place - super friendly folks over there and they make sure to talk you through anything that needs to be done to your car. I felt super comfortable and well taken care of. Thanks guys! Im gonna keep coming back!

Been going here for several years for my 2004 toyota and my 2001 lexus. The staff and owner are friendly and helpful, and they are honest about the urgency of different repairs and maintenance issues, which i have appreciated as my budget is usually tight. They have a wall of thank you letters and local accolades, and are clearly loved by the local community. I have even checked the cost of certain repairs against other AAA recommended centers and their prices are competitive. They also offer rides home after dropoff whenever they have the staff available. I definitely recommend them.

Im a HUGE fan of this shop for a handful of reasons:1) They have you ready when they say they will, and you can call ahead for an honest estimate of when theyre available.2) Good prices. I went in because my AC stopped working (while 90+ degrees out). After reading horror stories, I was sure I was going to need to replace something worth a couple hundred dollars and hours of time. They didnt try to screw me over by claiming it was more than it was. It ended up being a faulty circuit and they had me in and out in an hour and a half.3) They dont waste your time trying to upsell to you.4) Very friendly customer service. Both times I went, the owner was working the desk and he was all smiles.5) Wifi for guests so they can get their work done and Ice cream parlor right across the street doesnt hurt.As long as Im in central Jersey, Ill keep giving them my business!

I would strongly recommend to avoid this shop. I brought a car to check for intermittent starting failures and the check engine light. They charged me 148$ for the diagnostics, and the car doesnt start at all after they worked on it! The mechanics told me that the wires and comfort control module are soaked in water and corroded and offered to fix it for 950$+tax. I refused, pulled up the carpet and the wires and the module are completely dry, with no faint traces of corrosion. Now the car also shows the check airbags light. On top of that they were shameless enough to tell me that Id better come with a tow truck to pick the car up.

Not recommended, the technicians there will waste your time and money! I spent $500 and went to there 5 times, but I still have the same engine error code.First, the technician didnt find all the problems related to the error code in one time. The same error code came out again after I drove only 8 miles and spent $500. Then the technician told me there is another big problem which may cost me another $500. Actually the technician promised me the error code can be fixed before I confirmed them to go ahead.Second, I went to there twice because of their careless. One time they didnt even put my engine cover back before they return the car to me, all the wires connected to spark plugs were naked when I opened the hood at home. Another time I found that they left one device inside my car...

First time there - I took my vehicle in to have the brakes looked at. They could have sold me an expensive brake job, but instead they told me my brakes are fine, and I just needed an inexpensive adjustment. The shop seems honest, and how often can you say that?

Apparently they dont try to rip you off, but they charged me $125 for a used tire on a Hyundai SUV. They are lucky my spare was also blown and I was far from home, or I would have SKEDATTLED. Friendly people though.

Ive been to this garage several times. In my experience, they have the three things that you want: they correctly diagnose problems, they do the work in good time, and they do the work for fair rates. Recently, I had a squeaky wheel for a while. They diagnosed the problem as worn out brake drums. They replaced the drums, and now my car is gliding!

Pls do not go to this place at all. Very bad service and highly priced. I had to go here two times since I live 2 blocks away from this place and had a flat tire. They made me replace my tire the first time, and second time they told me itw as not tire, it was my TPMS system. I was charged more than 130$ each time(for a flat tire!!!). I dint take their service the second time, and informed them that I am a mechanical engineer and I do understand some of these. Then they were ready to offer me some deals and discounts which I turned down because I was sure these people were there only to cheat and loot money from people.I strong discourage anybody from going there unless you have deep pockets and ready to be fool out of!

Went for a power steering repair for my VW Jetta and the mechanic manager accepted the repair but wasnt able to complete the job. Charged for parts and labor for repairing the wrong solution. Ultimately had to transfer the car to the dealer without a refund. Poor poor experience.

The guys here are great I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata which stalled out on the parkway found out that the engine is seized and they recommend going to Hyundai and later the engine was replaced by Hyundai for free because of the recall I couldnt have done it without the help of the guys from Schwartz and Nagle
