Everyone was clear and accurate as to their services; estimated costs, how long the work would take. Our service person, Amish did a very good job of explaining our repair needs. Amish has communicated frequently through the process and has been extremely courteous. Were happy we found D&R!

We were going through Chicago and experienced a catastrophic engine problem with our SUV that was towing our camper. Chris got us in right away, helped us figure out what our best options were by pricing an engine replacement, and went above and beyond in so many ways. Then he only charged us a very reasonable price for the diagnosis and nothing more. (We had to pay for the tows of course, but that was a separate company.) These guys are honest, aboveboard and exceedingly kind.

I was in a crazy accident (not my fault!), and D&R is a AAA tow site. Boy, did I luck out having my car towed there! My tire was shredded (there were some other under-car things that were messed up as well). D&R helped me tremendously dealing with the other drivers insurance company. They were patient, professional and updated me regularly. Once the insurance thing was worked out, the work was done quickly and well. They even alerted me to some issues with my car that I wasnt aware of. All in all, they were super nice, very helpful and did great work.

I found the car that I have wanted since 1995. The manufacturer no longer makes, or has in inventory, replacement parts. The engine leaked fluids like a sieve, the transmission and clutch needed rebuilding, the a/c was a mess, the speedometer and odometer did not work. All problems fixed at a price I was happy to pay. I was notified on a timely basis as the job progressed, and I was billed less than the estimate.I have found my new go to garage.

Prior to taking my car to D&R i went to a dealer and other local shops which I questioned the parts that are being recommended to be replaced. Check engine light was a recurring issue for almost a year. Finally I went to D & R Autoworks, they diagnosed the issue called and told me the problem and after we discussed the situation they fixed it. They even went to the State of Illinois emission testing facility to have my vehicle tested, it passed.

Theyll get my business to repair the non urgent items in the future because of that forthrightness. Also very convenient that they have pickup and drop off service, and if available loaners as well. These guys have a very clear process of evaluation and execution. You pay for it. And if you value it, its a great experience. I limped into D&R with battery light blazing and thermostat pushing overheat. I was charged $62.91 to assess the extent of damage. Once approved, the essential work was done. I declined a passel of work and recommendations. But I appreciated getting a total assessment of the health of my geriatric minivan. I got the work I needed done quickly. And I got a sober evaluation of the risks of keeping this vehicle. Overall, good value.

They provided me a picture of my engine filter that was clearly dirty and needed to be replaced. Made the choice to have it replaced very easy. Usually, Im very pleased with D and R, however, this time a I was a little annoyed that I got charged $3.50 for washer fluid when my wipers were replaced. I have a whole bottle of washer fluid at my house and would have preferred not getting charged for that. Other than that, they are fine.

My battery died today and after getting a jump, was advised that the batter is dead. Called D&R immediately and they got me in, same day. Quick turn around,. Great price.Really appreciate having this in our town and so close to home.

I have counted on D&R Autoworks to service the car my kids drive. (My other car is still under warranty or they would service it, too.) They have always done excellent work and they offer loaner cars, which is most appreciated. Not long ago the car started making a lot of noise in the front wheel on the drivers side. It sounded like a wheel bearing had failed. After confirming the noise on a test drive they put it on the lift and removed the wheel. They examined the situation and could find nothing wrong, so they put the wheel back on and torqued the lug nuts to spec. Another test drive revealed the sound was gone. The hypothesis was that something small had gotten stuck to or near the wheel and it fell away during disassembly. When I picked up the car I was charged nothing and they returned it washed. My experiences with D&R have been nothing but positive. They are pleasant to deal with, do excellent work and are scrupulously honest in a world full of automotive repair shops that cant make that claim. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

My family and I have been taking our vehicles to D&R for years, and we enjoy the quality service we have received. They are reasonably fast for all service, minor and major. All jobs are competently done, and at a reasonable price (far better than the local dealerships weve used in the past). Their new location is convenient to get to, they have a nice waiting area, and the complementary loaners & shuttle are very convenient. D&R is just about the only place I trust to service my vehicles, today.

My car failed to pass the emissions test and I got these guys name from the DMV web site. Turned out to be a great choice as D&R was able to diagnose a slight crack in my emission system, which in turn tripped up the cars sensor. They were able to fix it and actually took the car to get tested themselves, saving me anothet trip to the testing site. Everyone was courteous and professional and the cost seemed reasonable. Give D&R a shot, they really know emissions.

It was too far away for me to have it towed to my local mechanic, so the tow truck driver recommended a couple of local mechanics. I contacted D & R Autoworks, and every step of the process was professional, helpful, and inspired confidence in their ability. They also emailed me pictures of the damage with notes on what was wrong and how they intended to repair it.
