I was laid off on May 3. It’s now June 25 and I have not received one payment in unemployment benefits. It took me weeks to finally get my benefits even started. There was a problem with their online system and no one would answer the phone. I finally got someone on the phone at the one 800 number to get me started. I’ve submitted at least five claims since then. When I called the toll-free number it tells me there’s an issue with my claim. I try to call the local offices, they either don’t call me back or it says the mailbox is full and hangs up on me. This is absolutely asinine

They never answer the phone, their voicemail box is full, And they dont allow walk-ins. This place is worthless, a waste of taxpayer dollars, and an insult to everyone struggling with unemployment. This is what he should be shut down and everyone who works there fired. They do not do their jobs. They are paid to do nothing.

I have called both VEC numbers at least 150 times over the past week and it always tells me the representatives are busy and try again later. Theres never a later it is ALWAYS NEVER. I am going to attempt to drive to the office for answers but im in tears almost sure it wont help. I actually was approved and recieved 2 weeks worth then all of a sudden they say my pin is invalid when i have used the same pin through this entire time and have never changed it. But everyone I have actually gotten thru to have all told me that the only place i can get it fixed is if I talk to someone at the 2363 or 6323 or whatever that number is that I mentioned above that I cannot get thru to. I have gotten so desperate i have looked up the president and vice president of the VEC and have tried emailing every single person that had an email listed that worked with the VEC and NOTHING. I understand they are backed up and very busy but at least have a freaking system that will take the persons phone number and at least call them back within 48 hours. It is absolutely ridiculous to just tell hundreds and thousands of callers to keep trying to call back later when its obvious by all the similar reviews that something more professional and humane needs to be done. Were all Americans and citizens and we have our bills piling up and if the government is actually going to help us with a little relief the VEC can AT LEAST make sure we have a freaking fair shot at at least talking with someone. I am in tears as i type this because i have tried so freaking hard just to talk to someone about my pin. That is all thats stopping me from claiming and its so freaking ridiculous to be this stressed over something so little that would literally take 5 mins to figure out and I have spent hours and hours listening to the damn automatic system to the point I know how to bypass to get to the main menu part to select 2 to connect and ALWAYS to busy and to call later !!!!!!!! I need my money!!!! Oh and by the way.... The numbers posted on the pictures for VEC harrisonburg are all BS also they tell u for questions to call and they tell u to leave them a message and they will return your call and the mail box is always completely full

They send me a letter that I received on June the 2 ndto contact them before June 3 Rd I tried all day yesterday and they even had my number to call me back so I tried again today and they just throwed my claim out I couldnt contact them no earlier because I didnt find out anything till yesterday its not my faught the mail cant get our mail to us on time Ive been trying since Nov. To get my unemployment calling in every week and just now find out there was a problem with my claim does anyone know who I can contact over this Ive worked my life and pay in just to get screwed over when I need it

Have been trying to get in in touch with someone at local unemployment office. Mailbox is always full and nooone ever answers the phone. The prompt on the phone tells you to call the 800 number and it says everyone is busy. How are you supposed to get any help? I have been trying for a week.

Ive been waiting 3 weeks come this Sunday for unemployment benefits since my job is unavailable due to covid 19. Ive been told 3 different things to why I havent been paid. Today, I get another story after thinking it was finally being worked on and cant get a human on the phone. Ive called the 866 number Ive been given over 175 times to get no representative and just hung up on. I understand the are being overwhelmed with calls but peoples bills dont stop coming because of that. I guess my weeks will just be adding up because I dont know who is telling me the right story on what is wrong on how to get it fixed. Being a mom of 4 and no work... This is a nightmare for so many of us waiting to be paid. However, their is a really nice lady at the Fisherville, VA VEC. She cant really help but she was sincere and has sent over my message to a representative but told me their a day behind in returning calls. Least it was a caring, heartfelt employee.

Not one answered call in 4 weeks,system simply hangs up on me every call!!! No benefits even though approval letter was recieved 4 weeks ago!! No option to em as il,no option to leave message,no option to stay on hold for hours!!! Nothing!! You OUGHTTA be ashamed of yourselves!! Absolutely disgusted and will be driving 2 hours to you this week to get answers!!! God help whomever I run into first! They will get an earful!!

Working to fill position hundreds of positions for multiple employers over the last several years, I have received exceptional support from the team at the Harrisonburg VEC office. They have assisted in posting open positions, collected applications from qualified candidates, and have always been very respectful when I call or visit the office. i have seen this service provided for a number of employers, including the facilitation of on-site job fairs. They also provide a great service to military veterans, helping them get positioned in the local job market when their time serving our country comes to an end. I am very thankful for the resources and personal touch they provide!

This is the worst possible thing! Also the unemployment number they give you is also extremely useless! I have emailed, called a million times and nothing. Terrible horrible service.

I recently relocated to Hburg and have never been to VEC.On February ninth I visited the Hburg VEC office and the male at the information window treated me with the utmost disrespect.Not only was he rude,he belittled any question I asked.He treated me as if I should know all about how the job seeker service operated.I thought their job was to be helpful to job seekers.I can only hope that this one employee is not a reflection of the professionalism of the rest of the office.Horrible experience!!!!
