They helped us keep old cars running past 200,000 miles. I remember them advising us on buying a used car for our daughter. She drove that car for 14 years thanks to their wonderful service. For many years I have used Smith Davidson Goodyear’s services. They have maintained many vehicles for me including my company vehicle. Each time the maintenance/ repairs were completed on time at the cost I was quoted. If a problem was noticed, they would call me right away and give me the option of a repair or not depending on the severity.Communication has always been great to let me know my vehicle is ready or needs additional service. I have enough mechanical skill to understand their recommendations. My trust in their recommended repairs is excellent!

This place completely wasted my time. I called to get a quote for a few repairs the dealership said I needed. They wouldnt give me a quote for those repairs over the phone as they wanted me to come in first so they can look the car over. I told them such a task is a waste of both of our time if I cant get a ballpark on what I would be charged (I told them exactly which repairs needed to be done, the exact model, etc.). He wouldnt budge, but because of the reviews on this site, I thought I would take a risk and take off 2 hours from work to drive over there and wait for them to check out my vehicle. Before doing this, I specifically told them on the phone that Im not looking to pay dealership prices, and asked them if they are typically under those prices. The man on the phone assured me that they are almost always better than the dealership.Fast forward, I bring the car in and have them quote me for the 4 repairs that were needed. The quote ended up being 20% higher than the dealer! Every single item on the list was more than what the dealer is looking for! Absolutely outrageous and a total waste of my time.On a positive note, they were very friendly (the added star) and professional. But beware, for those of you who go here, based on my experience, I can only surmise that you are probably getting ripped off.

Pulled in late afternoon with a flat. Had to replace tire due to puncture being in the sidewall. They were able to get new tire and also replace the brake pads to get me on my way before closing.

My mechanic recommended Smith-Davidson to me a few years ago, and I recently got my 2nd full set of tires from them. I am beyond impressed with their customer service. They gave me a loaner vehicle to use while they worked on mine. And their technicians did the best alignment job I have ever had. Really good work. Top notch service. Discount Tires might be a little cheaper, but they won’t treat you as well as these guys. Crystal at the front desk is friendly, knowledgeable, and cute too! Glad to support these guys.

The team at Smith-Davidson made my automotive issue less painful and I’m very appreciative. This was the first repair I’ve had to deal with on my vehicle. Sitting just shy of 100,000 miles (on a car I love) I was hoping for a simple repair but preparing for the worst. The guys in the garage took their time and did a thorough inspection and ran some tests to figure out the problem. With a husband deployed and kids to juggle, I wasn’t in a position to have anyone pick me up while they did the work. But Smith-Davidson loaned me a vehicle while they worked on my car. The situation turned out to be more complex than what was originally thought but the team kept me updated and explained everything along the way. I appreciate the open and honest lines of communication with very reasonable pricing. It was also nice to have them follow up days later to make sure we were happy. Great customer service!

$89 dollars for EACH tire sensor? I purchased all 4 sensors for $28 dollars online....YES thats $7 dollars each.....now after spending 800 dollars on tires I have to go elsewhere to get the sensors installed...I dont think thats fair or reasonable at all....Imagine paying 360 dollars for 4 sensors that are made in china.. maby 360 pesos not American dollars

Brought in some tires to mount on some forged aluminum rims for a show car. The way the tire mounting equipment was used, it dug into my rims, on the inner surface where the clamps mount to (see picture), and they dinged the front on multiple spots. Id suggest finding a different place for any high value rims. They did offer a refund for the mounting but would not cover the replacement of the non repairable rims.Update to follow as legal actions are considered.Update 19 may 2020-- In business it is often said customer loyalty is best built not by how you perform normal business but how issues and mistakes are handled. The owner reached out to me and has been extraordinarily understanding both explaining what this could be linked to but also what we can do to remedy the situation as well as make sure it doesnt happen again. Ive dealt with many businesses over the years and few will take the time to do with this business is doing with this issue.-- Ill be sure to keep an update as things progress as well as an appropriate ranking.Image is the rim damage at all contact points on the tire mounting machine. Normally this is avoided by the use of external clampers or with plastic protectors on the clamps to avoid metal on metal contact especially on black rims.Update 1 June 2020-- It was determined the rims cannot be repaired and would need to be replaced. That being said this business was not willing to replace the rims they damaged. They were kind enough to refund the cost to mount the tires but that really isnt the point now is it. My family has lived here for almost 10 years and almost exclusively go to this tire dealer. Unfortunately a careless mistake by a tech and a owner unwilling to accept the consequences of the actions of those who work for him has ended that relationship. Im sure the run of the mill car owner will have no problems here but I would not bring any rims or cars of value here.

I have been taking my car to Smith Davidson for a few years now. The work is always done right the first time and they are very friendly. They are also very honest. I went in thinking I needed new tires last year and instead of just selling me a new set they actually recommended an alignment to deal with uneven tread wear.

These guys rock! They were genuine, completely upfront, and did not try to up-sell me and my wife on stuff we didnt need. Their communication was spot on and our car is running like a dream now (they replaced our manual clutch). We are new to Greenville and very thankful our friends recommended us giving Smith Davidson a call for this work. We will absolutely be returning/loyal customers. Oh! Theyve always been honest. Ive gone back and inspected parts that needed repairs whenever theyve said there was a problem and always found it to be true - no unnecessary or fake repairs. They also charge a reasonable price. They ask before performing any additional repairs. Theyre the only shop I use. If they keep being honest and charging fair prices, I have no reason to go anywhere else.

I cannot say enough about this customer service and the integrity of Jim Davidson. I was in town visiting a friend when I had car trouble. I brought my vehicle to him on good Friday of Easter weekend. He promised to have it ready on Saturday so that I could drive home on Monday. Unfortunately, the work that he did, replacing spark plugs and coils, did not resolve the problem and the car had to go to the dealership. He knew that the dealership would not fix the broken computer part unless they change the coils so he removed the coils he had installed.Not only did he NOT charge me for all of the work he did, but he provided advice as I dealt with the dealership.If you need a trustworthy, friendly and helpful mechanic, take your car to Jim.

I had a flat tire and I work just down the road from this place. I called during lunch hours and he said his techs were at lunch but I could come get the portable air compressor and pump my tire enough to get it to his shop. After I pumped my tire and got there, it took them maybe 15 minutes and he told me I was good to go! He didnt charge me a penny. I could not be more grateful for his kindness. I will definitely be back!!!

I want to be sure we solve your problem because what you’re asking might not solve your problem.”Turns out they were right, they did a better diagnosis on my problem than I had and they fixed it correctly, unlike the last mechanic who created new problems after working on the car.Their receptionists are polite and professional.My car runs great now and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

The only negative: $45 to pull a code seemed ti me a bit excessive. Beyond that, all service was reasonably priced and completely quickly. I left confident in their diagnosis, service, and honesty. They will without a doubt be my first choice for all repairs.

Ive taken multiple vehicles to this store before and the quality is mostly acceptable. They installed the wrong battery knowing it wasnt right. I returned the next day for the right one and they had to order and picked it up off-site. Prices could be improved. Ive had friends encounter issues with this shop damaging other systems that could have been avoided. Overall I would go to this shop for simple maintenance/repair only.

Dropped my truck off for an alignment Monday afternoon before they closed, 9:30AM Tuesday they called and said it was ready. I honestly thought the alignment was too far out of whack to be corrected without replacing a few things but its straight as an arrow now. Very professional customer service and very speedy service. I have been using these guys for over a decade now. I have a Corvette with big fat tires that are hard to mount and they go the extra mile for me every time. They are the only shop Ive let do a four wheel alignment on my ZR1. Doing an alignment right on my car is extra work, but they get it right the first time.Finding an HONEST, fair-priced shop that is competent and has the tools and experience needed is tough, but Smith Davidson is the place to go.I can, without reservation, absolutely recommend them to you and know that they will live up to my recommendation. They are that good!

The folks have taken care of all our family vehicles for more than 15 years. They are honest, ethical people who understand customer service and provide outstanding, high quality work with reasonable pricing. I understand that some repair shops push unnecessary repairs but I have never experienced this behavior at Smith - Davidson. With my children driving older character cars, I depend on the folks at Smith - Davidson to provide safe and cost effective approach to vehicle maintenance.

Smith-Davidson provides excellent service at reasonable prices. After taking our cars there for a while now and going to other mechanics around the area I get the sense that they do not overcharge us or do extra, unnecessary work on the cars just to get our money. I have no hesitations in recommending them especially since finding a good mechanic is hard. As an aside, everyone Ive talked to at work that has taken their car there has great things to say about them as well, which confirms our experience.

My first experience with them was over the phone after another business close by to them wanted me to pay almost $1800 for repairs. I called them, explained my situation and they worked with me to give me a guesstimate of what we may be looking at before I got my car towed to them. I am glad I decided to let them handle my car because they got the car in and out the same day and saved me over $1000! They are always nice and polite when I call and when my reverse went out I made a simple call to let them know I was bringing my car and they had it ready for me before I got off work, same day and affordbale for fantastic work! I recommend them to everyone!

They were extremely courteous from the initial call and gave a price for the work (replacement front wheel bearing) without me even asking. Service went quickly and price was exactly as quoted. Great people and great service. Have been bringing my car here for years and tell all my friends about it. Got my tires here and convinced my buddy recently to bring his Fiesta here to get his intercooler installed. With the new hours of no longer being open on Saturday when Im not working I sadly wont be able to come here as much anymore, but if you are able to work around that then I highly recommend Smith and Davidson.

My old mechanic could not fix my 1990 C1500. Even after 4-5 times back, the best they could do to “fix” my stalling issue was to adjust the idle up, but she still ran poorly.Now I have a new mechanic. Smith-Davidson fixed my rough idle and stalling problem the same day I dropped my truck off. I am also getting 18.5 mpg to boot, thanks to them also getting my idle back down.I am very satisfied. My 28 year old truck will keep having issues. It’s good to know that I have a good place to get it taken care of.
