My 25yo A/C unit went out on the hottest week of the year. McCown did what they could to get me up and running but the old unit was simply shot. Hugh walked me though numerous options and I feel confident that we selected a quality Bosch unit. Luckily the unit was in stock and the Install team was able to start quickly. I will be sleeping comfortably again tonight. Thumbs up to Hugh, the install team and the technicians for making this happen quickly.

The original drip pan that was installed by the builder was not large enough to catch all of the water that was dripping from the bypass. I called McCown and they sent out a service person who analyzed the situation then the company provided an estimate and I scheduled the work. Two service persons showed up to do the work as scheduled and completed the work by installing a larger and newly fabricated drip pan of much better quality than what was originally installed. They installed it in less than an hour. I also have an annual maintenance plan with McCown.
We signed up with a annual service where $195 was to cover any simple visits and cleaning and inspection, etc. On 6/7/2021 we paid the $195 as the inside unit was checked and cleaned. On 6/17/2021, a second visit included cleaning the outside condensor coil, checked refrigerant, etc. At that time no money exchanged hands. No charge was mentioned when the call was made nor any time during the visit. On 7/14/2021, a whole month later, they sent a bill for $79. If there was a charge for the visit why wait a month to bill us? Why not say before arrival or before doing any work? Or before leaving? At no time where we told this was an extra charge. This place is a rip-off.
They are very thoughtful and professional. They notified me each time someone was coming to my house and what they were going to do. They did their work and cleaned up afterwards. Everyone was polite and considerate, They came out to check to make sure everything was working the way it should. I would recommend them to my friends and family

Service tech stated the condenser coil needed to be replaced which would cost $3400 or I could buy a new a/c unit for $7200. Got a second opinion and the second company showed me that it wasn’t the condenser coil and showed me the copper pipe he soldered the pipe and the fix cost $348. McCown Company charged me $248 service charge and diagnosis fee. I called to request the $150 diagnosis fee back and was told the office manager would need to call me back. When I was called back it was an inspector because the office manager was too busy to call me (so basically they handed me off to someone). The inspector told me that the $150 was charged because the service tech used nitrogen for the misdiagnosis. Still haven’t received a call back from this office manager. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Today we had our annual checkup on our heating system. Randy was our technician and he is the best. McCown Company Heating &Air Conditioning is the best company for heating and air. We have used them about 7 yrs now and have never had a problem. They are the best. Also the office staff is great and helpful.

I had McCown out to replace my upstairs heat pump and air handler. From quote to install, they took care of the whole job within a few days. The office was very responsive (thanks, Alexis!), the initial rep, Cole was very professional and answered all my questions. The install technicians Roy and Craig could not have been more courteous—really great guys! We had just painted and I was worried they’d damage the walls taking the old unit out and putting the new unit in. They were incredibly careful and didn’t damage anything. Chad was able to integrate the new system into my existing security system and control pads. Craig stayed to make sure the system was 100% working before leaving. He was great. The whole job was seamless from start to finish! They took such care and the York unit works like a champ. Absolutely choose McCown!!!
Dont hire. do your homework and find trustworthy companies that dont try to fleece their customers.I had an issue with my furnace early in October because the heater stopped working. I was told by the tech that it was the thermostat. I trusted his knowledge and I felt he was trustworthy. I got charged $350+ for the thermostat and the work. I later learned that the thermostat was only about $50 because it was an older model. It was sold to me higher than the cost of more advance thermostats with wifi control and multi room programming. I understand contractors and vendors add a markup to their parts but 5 times the cost of the part they installed is not right. It is just plain wrong.The worst of all of this is that the thermostat doesnt even work. I set the temperature at a specific degree and it always stays at 78 degrees so if I leave it on it is always hot. If I leave it off then I have no heat. The company is not to be trusted neither tech.The owner responded giving me this breakdown. The tech did not spend more than an hour and there was no wiring done. He just snapped on the thermostat. The owner also claims I did not make a call to let them know of the issue. I did posted my experience in writing and he did not answer.And, why would I hire them again to come after they took advantage the first time? I dont want them to sell me repairs and overcostly parts for issues that dont exist?He very conveniently replies to those that meet some bias criteria I guess.

Dont use this company. They try to take advantage of customers and will make up issues and suggest repairs that are not needed. They are in just for the money.
I have always been impressed with McCown but this weekend they really helped me out. My air went out two hours before a lot of company was due for the night. I called McCown and the air was back on before he company arrived. They also charged a fair price for rapid weekend service. I’d recommend them to everyone.
Heres the text I sent so I dont have to retype it ..I dont know what you guys have going on but theres a reason people dont over book, and if you all are not over booking and your crew should be able to handle this workload then that needs to be addressed. If its neither one of those its time to look at management.What I want to point out is you told me that you would come to my house and look upstairs, you didnt show up, I had to text you and ask if you were coming after you told me you would be here. We stayed home all day on our day off to be told you werent coming. The next time I spoke to you, you rescheduled us stating that you had many people out of heat (which I dont believe you should over book when you have previous appointments. Maybe tell them you are booked that they may need to contact someone else instead of pushing people who hired you to do a job around over and over ) and rescheduled my time for the first appointment date that we set. To the following day which you then contacted me stating that you need to move my appointment again.We scheduled for 1-3 and I took a little over a half day off so that I could be here for your guys. I was here waiting. Your guys called me and I sent them a link to the address since they couldnt find it. Which is fine. Im glad they called and didnt just come because they couldnt find it!They were fast and efficient.Friday I received a text to call the office and pay. I text back asking if the float was on. - no reply so I called.You stated that they wouldnt leave without putting the float on (they did) so we scheduled to have them come Monday.No one came and I didnt get a text, call or anything until today, replying to the text I sent Friday. Thanking me for understanding and bearing with you. I left work early to make sure Id be here because you told me they would be here late in the afternoon. And stating that I need to let you know if my house was unlocked (I had told you they cant come unless Im here)I texted you at 6:20 pm asking when they would be here since the afternoon was over and it was now night time. You told me they were on the way. And they showed up at 7:49 pmHow is that late afternoon?Why cant you make a schedule and stick to it?Why is my money and appointment not worthy of getting done?And why is it ok for me to miss my money at work and waste my personal time?Who is going to make up for my lost wages because you cant be bothered to communicate or BE HERE.Im understand youre sorry but there is no excuse for the way this situation was handled. If this was my company Id want to know that this is going on.

So I called these people to quote me on foam insulating a 3 bedroom ranch. I took 2 hours off work to meet the tech. They ultimately quote me $23,000.00. Yes you read that right, 23k. Of course Id already received multiple competing quotes in the 4-5k range. I ask the tech if they do a lot of foam he says almost never. Despite the fact that its right on their website as one of their primary services. Dont waste time with these people.
A technician by name Ryan came to inspect the air conditioning unit. The diagnosis was not done correctly because other technicians after him came out and looked at the unit and it was something different that needed to be fixed. The technician from McCown Company did a wrong diagnosis and gave us a wrong quote and did not refill the frion refrigerant at time of visit while he could have done so. He did not do an honest job because he also gave use a sheet saying that the insurance company would contact us to give us approval or denial knowing they had already told him his diagnosis was denied for insurance coverage. Very dishonest person and poor quality of work done.

After having a horrible experience with a different HVAC repair place. We called these guys and immediately got help over the phone twice and on a Sunday! The employees that work here are absolutely amazing! I didn’t catch the guys name who helped us but My wife and I have pets and a 1year old and being without heat isn’t something that we can do. They understood that and helped us right away! We are looking at buying a new unit next summer and will 100% be giving them our business no need to shop around when you get service like this. finding people who care is hard to come by these days and finding someone who knows what they are doing is a plus!

I had a water leak in my heating system at 5:30 in the morning. I called and left a message and Chad called me back around 7:30am. He already had a job first thing that morning but was able to get dispatch to to reroute him to me since it was an emergency. He got the water leak stopped but the part wouldnt be in for two days. Came back to install and had a heck of a time getting the radiant heat back up. It was not an easy job and not many companies will not work on my gas boiler system. Chad stayed over 3 hours to get everything back up. Dont know what we would have done without McCown and Chad. They are our go to for sure.

We were simply tired of all of the allergens and dust in the air and with Flu season coming up, wanted our air germ free as well. AJ was professional and did the job right! The company installed a humidifier, but the technician didnt check to be sure that the unit was working properly. Two days later(a Sunday)there was too much humidity with moisture accumulating on the walls and ceiling. Chad was on call and able to correct the problem with the unit. The company repainted the ceiling and walls to our requirements and installed (at no charge) a new humidistat and tank. The unit is working fine now and because of their response to the problem, I now have a service agreement with the company.

AJ came out to give me a second opinion on our AC unit. The previous company had told me I needed to replace evaporator coils and it would cost $2300 to fix my leak and charge the unit. AJ did a thorough inspection and discovered I had some seals missing and replaced those and then charged my unit. All said and done - it was $135 and my airs blowing as cold as ice! McCown has earned a lifelong customer for their honesty and professionalism! Thanks AJ!

I mean these guys are amazing
This company has been out to my home twice now. They go over and beyond to find the issue and solve it. The first time they came out same day within 1 1/2 hours. The next time they came out on a Saturday and didnt charge me a premium for weekend hours! They tell you exactly what the problem is and solve it. One of the reps even had a thermal camera and showed us where we probably needed more insulation in our attic. The last few companies I have called have been dishonest and just kept overfilling my AC with free-on. Luckily the rep found out it was overcharged and it has helped our AC tremendously.

Terrible people, terrible products, terrible service. Entire brand new Furnace rusted out in 5 years and they refused to replace it. Parts malfunctioned each year due to poor installation and maintenance (which I paid the annual contract for) and still Hugh McCown refused to replace the unit. Had to have entire unit replaced at my expense after only 5 years. This company should be out of business. Do not do business with this company! Buyer Beware!
