I have a gray market CAT excavator and a service manual written in Japanese. I knew that finding the right parts for this machine would be a challenge. However, the customer service and parts folks at Michigan CAT were great. They worked as a team and employed some serious investigative chops to track down exactly what I needed. Every person I talked to there was extremely nice and went above and beyond to help me. I will be back often as I continue to maintain my machine, as well as recommending to other friends with excavator businesses in residential and commercial construction industry. Special thanks to Dan Mills for all his help.
Huge place, by the time I found someone who knew anything the office was closed so they refused to release the machine I was supposed to pick up. Was told quite frostily to come back tomorrow blew away half a day
Good place nice people to work with. Lots of room for semi trucks.
Had all I needed, parts helped getting my meds
I have had a wrong part or two given to me but the customer service I have received is impeccable! After hours service and parts when needed. Cant remember the gentlemans name tonight behind the main counter, but he should probably be given a raise. Superb service.
Good for hoses
Good day,I reached out to Leeboy late last week on a problem I have with one of your dealers. I brought my 07 Leeboy 7000 paver to GR Michigan Cat. I called Tuesday evening spoke with Nate the service manager. I told him my auger had stopped working and I was finding silver bearing balls on the ground. Nate said drop it off sounds like an auger bearing probably cost $500-$600 to fix. I dropped my paver off Tuesday around 4:40p. Wednesday morning I received a call from Nate he said my machine barely limped in and I needed like 5-6 different things to fix my machine. ( just rambled them off). I asked how much to fix the entire list of what he claimed was wrong. Nate said It would be a couple grand. I specifically asked how much is a couple grand!? Nate said funny you ask (with a chuckle) Nate said in between $2000.-$3000. to fix everything he just talked about. I said Nate if you can keep it closer too $2000. I want the entire list done. Nate said as it gets closer to $2000. he would call and let me know what was left to fix and see if I wanted to move forward. I told Nate right there if it was gonna hit $2700. I would still want him to do everything on the list. (mind you this is Wednesday morning and no official quote??) I then received a call Thursday morning from Nate stating it was gonna cost another $2000. because Leeboy didnt bhave some individual parts and they had to order a whe unit costing more money. After hearing all of this I starting calling people from Michigan Cat in the higher office asking why this is happening like this and why my prices keep going up and my machine is not getting fixed. Ive reached out to Mac Allister Machinery I believe they are the owners of Michigan Cat and I have not been able to get anywhere. with them as well. I was told by Michigan Cat they would put my machine back the way it came in and I could come pick it up this Tuesday 10-27-20. Nate gave me a price to fix a list of things Tuesday about 5 or 6 things and Nate said he could do all of those things for in between $2000.-$3000. We had finally received a quote via email sitting in our junk mail from 6:33a Friday morning we only found it after texting Nate (around 2p) asking where our quote was he send he sent it that morning. No call to go over the quote or anything again Im expecting a quote in between $2000.-$3000.?? Can I please get someone to reach out to me about this problem? Thank Dan owner of Elite Asphalt Maintenance LLC
I arrived with my Freightliner Truck with a CAT pulling our 5th Wheel at 5PM on a Friday....Truck would not go over 45mph.Eric and Chad were so eager to help....hooked up their computer, power washed the motor, replaced 3 parts and fixed my truck.....best $500 I spent.
Jeff is always anxious and ready to assist with parts issues.
Common sense parts people. They know the equipment, not just part numbers. Very large inventory. Its rare they dont have what I need.
Fast
I myself have a half n half opinion about the guys that work there, some are great and others are very rude, I get it we all got jobs to do. Most times I can just walk in ask for parts and be out.
When they rebuilt my motor and got my engine fan to cycle on an off on its own they unhooked other wiring I had going to my toggle switches and shrink wrapped the ends of the connectors. I went back because when I hooked to my trailer I had no running lights or tail lights. The switch I used for my trailer lights didnt have any wires going to it. The manager asked was this the first time I hooked to a trailer and I said yes. His reply was he has a picture of my truck hooked to a trailer just a few days ago on Facebook. I was really lol let me see this pic! It was a picture of my truck hooked to a trailer I reposted from last summer when i was in California. Told me they werent going to warranty anything on my truck because they see a post on facebook of me talking about getting my truck turned up. Nothing like having the shop manager Facebook stalking their customers!!! They have forever lost my business!
Very helpful and all parts in stock.
No thrilled with the service. To each his own
Stopped in to purchase some merchandise, but after walking around inside a few minutes not being acknowledged by anyone I left.
Rude and unhelpful. Money is there concern not customer service. Read the other reviews and take your truck somewhere else.
