Great group of people! We hired them to install central air, and every time Ive dealt with them theyve been awesome. We have a duplex, and they showed up with a team of people and were in and out.Before 1:30, both sides were completely installed, cleaned up, and they were gone. Everyone that showed up were really kind, courteous and professional. Whether you get Nigel, Mary Clare, Mike or Daniel, youll be in good hands!Dont expect that theyll always show up with a whole team of people though. Our service technicians Mike and Mary Claire recently installed a new furnace and AC unit in our home. They were timely and professional, and took care to be neat and tidy w/ their supplies. They were also *VERY* patient w/ our little boys, who observed and asked questions the whole time they we’re working :)We’re very pleased w/ the Comfort Care units. We’ve already seen a significant reduction in energy use compared to last May. Our old AC unit was from 1988! We like how our new unit provides a steady, constant “trickle” of cool air vs. the abrupt on (at a blast) and off, as the older units operated.

Put in new wall box and water supply to washing machine. Same day service, knew what he was doing,explained it very well. A great company from the phone call to the tech doing the work, yes I will use them again. I will tell my friends.

Prompt and professional, courteous during installation of new AC unit, even on a rainy morning. Very clean install. They took the time to clean everything up and left no mess. Even registering the product with the manufacturer. I had to reschedule twice due to personal matters but felt they understood my situation and worked with me on an agreeable date for each of us.

So glad I found these guys! Nigel was great. I needed a water heater inspection to rent my place, so I had a deadline from the city. We found the entire Lake Michigan Mechanical team who worked on our new boiler install project to be very professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Eli, Mike, Nigel, Mary Claire, Daniel and Kyle were conscientious in their efforts to protect our newly carpeted areas and freshly painted walls while the old boiler was taken out as the new one was brought in and installed. Cleaned up during and after the job was done too.Always responded quickly. I was impressed to receive a written estimate the same day as the quote appointment. Especially when two out of four other companies came, but never even followed through with written estimates!We also hired them to switch out an electric stove with a new gas stove at our cottage. They converted it from natural gas to LP. Eli did a very thorough job!

Had water heater stop operating on a Thursday night. Called up LMM on Friday morning to schedule repair and they were at our home on Friday. Old unit removed and new one installed by 5pm the same day.Tech (Eli) was very informative and explained several repair/replacement options. I was in a pinch on Friday night when I came home from work with no heat. I called LMM and they sent Nigel. My furnace couldnt be fixed so we scheduled installation for Monday morning. They brought me space heaters so I wouldnt freeze. The temperature outside was in the single digits. Monday morning they started the job on time and finished before I expected. Did a great clean up job and Im comfy cozy with my new furnace. I also am having them install a new a/c in the spring. I am very happy with the care these two took, the price and the job the team of Nigel and Mary Claire did. I will definitely use them again if needed.

Charged over 600 to unclog laundry drain and plumber was unsuccessful. He said he was 95% sure he could unclog it and if not we would talk about lowering the price. Long story short got a pipe cut and a drain snake stuck and still got charged over 600. I removed the drain snake and found out it was the sump pump which cost 70. Always check the sump pump for a similar issue and save hundreds. They were unprofessional by charging over 600, unsuccessful, and not having a clue about the sump pump. Research before using a plumbing place like this.

Eli was a pleasure to work with. He clearly explained what he was going to do in advance of completing the work. He arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work in a timely fashion.

Called company because they had good reviews… was very specific that we needed someone who knew Viessmann boilers. They sent us someone who was not knowledgeable… we know this because he was on the line 1with either his coworker or Viessmann the whole time he was there, replace a part that didn’t need replacing, took advantage of our inexperience with how long time was actually needed to replace the part ( Viessmann rep later told us it should have taken 1.5 hours max and he charged us 3.5 hours at what equates to 200 hr which our Viessmann representative told us that she had never had rates that high come to her desk). We ended up hiring another technician who did know what he was doing… never needed to call Viessmann and fixed and cleaned everything up in 1.5 hours that this company’s guy couldn’t do in the 5.5 that he was at our house. We called to complain and got 200 bucks off our price which I guess enable us to put it towards the company who actually had the expertise. Lessons learned.

We put in a second bathroom in our basement, so this was a from scratch start. All new sewage, toliet, shower and vanity water hook-ups. We had 5 different estimates and out of the 5 Dan was the only one to actually leave a business card! Their estimate was in the middle of the road, but we liked their responsiveness and answers to many of our questions and believe me there were many, but Dan was always there to pick up the phone. Eli and Mike were the awesome men who came out for 3 days and labored hard cracking up cement and digging up through the hard packed sand, not to mention running all of the sewage lines and water lines. My husband and I are more than pleased with this work and the amazing, professional employees that we have dealt with. We would not hesitate to use Lake Michigan Mechanical again for any of our plumbing needs.

When it comes to boilers it can be difficult to find good, reputable companies that still even work on them. LMM is top notch. Ive called on them multiple times to replace old pipes, assess leaks and replace our boiler. Nigel seems to catch the brunt of these nasty jobs I task them with in my old house but he always comes in with a great attitude and has a passion for the work he does. Hes always very quick to answer any question I have regarding our system. When you have a company/employees you trust you continue to call on them and thats what I do with LMM.

I was having an issue with hot water flow for the bathtub in our new home. There was an anti scald valve that was the issue and I called to just have someone come out and remove/bypass the valve. Kyle arrived on time and accessed the issue. He gave me an on site quote to bypass the valve and a second quote because he thought there may be a small filter inside the valve that might be plugged and may take care of the issue. I told him to proceed and he looked first for the filter because it would require less labor and therefor would be less expensive. Turns out that there was a filter and it was totally plugged up with pvc shavings from the tub install. He cleaned it out and the flow was what we expected. I appreciated that he took the time to look at options to save money instead of just remove the valve as I had requested when I called.Kyle was very friendly and cleaned everything up before he left.

We purchased a new tankless hot water heater from LMM and they were great. Their team was professional and with Covid took care of us well. We were having some issues with temperature situations and Dan sent out a technician to troubleshoot and found it was another plumbing issue not related and didnt charge me. Responsible for sure and professional. Sometimes when busy takes a little bit to respond but always follows up.

I sump pump system that didnt rely on power, a back-up battery, or motors – basements flood when those items fail. LMM installed a water-pressure based system and now I dont have to worry about power outages or dead batteries because my basement will stay dry no matter what.

There arent enough words to describe how great Daniel and his team at Lake Michigan Mechanical are at their jobs. They are conscientious and capable. They have performed tune-ups on both my air conditioner and furnace this year.I was astounded by the amount of debris they found caked to my air conditioner condenser less than a year after a different service company had supposedly tuned up the unit. The layer of junk and fuzz was thick and choking out any efficiency I might have hoped to have.I loved that I knew exactly what I was paying for and how much it would cost before the LMM team began their work. We can’t thank Eli Wyman enough for his professional expertise! We have a 65yr old home & the main pipe was almost completely clogged with a rock like build up to where our drain in the laundry room was flooding! Eli broke up the cement, replaced all the old cast iron pipes with new PVC, laid new cement & we are back in business!!

They said they were done but the work is not completed and I told them work is not done, and than they want additional money for that.
