I worked here 5 years ago. It is a very good place to work and have a family meal. The portions are large and the food is delicious. This place is often visited with children. Children are interested here. Feeling that you are in the wild. Many animals. There is also a souvenir shop. I can recommend!
They out did themselves with this location! Just a short walk from the beach. The food and drinks are not the best. (Specially the portions, we had to get our 7yr olds 2 kids meals $$ each, our 2yr old ate all his kids meal) the experience is very fun. They have a ride that we did after our meal and our kids loved it. It was about $6 per person. The staff was great and our visit went great.
This place is always wonderful every time I visit it. This time was no exception when I took my daughter and two year old grandson. We had a long wait ahead of us but we lucked out and got a seat in the bar and we were able to order dinner from there. We only ordered appetizers so I cant be more specific about their food but the appetizers were great. Its always a fun place to visit no matter what. Pictures are from several years ago with my granddaughters, same place, same froggy frozen lemonade and same yumminess.
The Rainforest Cafe is great place to visit for families. Our family had a wonderful experience the food is good but not anything special. This location has a water ride, gift shop, bar, & restaurant. There was a professional face painter who works for tips. He was amazing!According to my kids “the food won’t be memorable but the rest is amazing!” I believe the restaurant is geared towards kids two thru twelve. I would even venture to say teens will enjoy a trip. They might not be overly excited though. The water ride was low impact and great for kids of all ages. The river ride last about 10 minutes. You will only get a few drops of water on you. It contains lots of cool lights and sounds like you are in the jungle.
Reservations were booked two weeks out when I checked this place the night before we wanted to go. After reading the reviews, I called the restaurant and whoever I spoke to was very helpful and told me that it shouldnt be a problem to get in line about 30 minutes before they open so we wouldnt have to wait to be seated (you know, after the 30 minute wait in the sun wed just done). Once we were let in and got to the podium, we were seated immediately. The food was good and came out super fast; our waitress was outstanding; my sons little face when they came up with the volcano dessert was worth the whole wait - second only to when the restaurant darkened and we experienced our first thunderstorm. Then we took the jungle ride and headed home. Not including the ride or the tip, our lunch was $113 (An appetizer, 2 adult entrees, one alcoholic drink, a kids meal and dessert). The picture I took was at 10:39, about 10 minutes after we got in line, and the place opens at 11. We also got to see the volcano erupt while we were waiting, and I didnt even know it could do that.
Food was good, ambience fun and exciting, great theme restaurant. Get there early or plan to wait. The animal balloon guy was fantastic, i recommend you get some fun balloon hats or other things, he works for tips so give to your means. The restaurant lacks foresight on how overwhelmed it gets during dinner rush and the first time we tried to go we waited in line to try to get a table only to find out after waiting 15 mins in line to put our name in there was a 2 hour wait, BUT they were not taking any more names.. The reason for the star lost, we had to make another attempt the next day.
We celebrated my son and my nephews birthday. You have to pay for their birthday cake volcano, which was 17-18 dollars. Staff was amazing, and we happened to get a server on her first day. She did really well, and I would have never known she was new except that she has a really awesome trainer with her. He has excellent suggestions and assured me the pastalaya was popping in all the flavors. It was delicious, but it came out dry. Luckily, mixing up the pasta myself fixed that. The Mai Tai was delicious. There was a 2 hour wait to eat, so we all went on the ride. I will say there is a vulture that got one in one us...in the ride that at first, we swore we were hearing a man pleasuring himself while on speaker, which made things very awkward. We all broke down laughing when we finally made it around to see that it was supposed to be the sounds coming from the vulture. On our continued wait, we ended up with 2 build a bear dinosaurs, and a build a bear rainbow lion. We also got two geodes. There is plenty to do.
My kids love it here. My little one freaked out when the thunderstorms began but he loved it after he got his (Thors hammer/God of Thunder)balloon! I loved that they didnt even give me a hassle about my dog, they just let us in. I didnt have to show my letter for my dog! That was so awesome. The people who make balloons for tips were great as well. Everyone who worked today did an amazing job to make my kids and dog have a great time. Thank you
This is a good place if youre a tourist looking for to eat somewhere with a fun atmosphere. On the pro side, plenty of sights, sounds, colors and animals. The kids will love it and its even a welcomed break as an adult. The place is pretty clean and spaced out pretty well. On the cons, the food is probably what you would expect from a big chain. Not great, but okay. The service was pretty good, but the prices are kind of steep for what you get.
Food was just okay. Way over priced. The service was good. Atmosphere was great. This place could easily be a 5 star if they put a little more effort into the food.
Brought my bother in law and his family here for my nieces birthday and we had a blast. I got my niece and I matching bears from Build A Bear, ate some of the best food on the island at the cafe, and then took a leisurely ride through the rain forest on the Adventure Ride. Be ready to spend time here because before you know it youve spent hours doing all the stuff they have available.
Holy cow! I waited almost two hours to get in and was it worth it. Other than sitting next to the elephant and its noise everything was perfect. Our waiter was efficient and attentive, taking our orders bringing our drinks, refills and check. Food came out within 15 minutes of ordering and it was spectacular. The ribs, chicken fried chicken and fish tacos were all a delight. I am extremely satisfied with the service and quality of food. I would highly recommend. Also there was a guy with a yo-yo doing tricks, weird but okay.
The Rainforest Cafe has a cool theme but that is about it. The cost for a plate of food is twenty to thirty dollars and tastes just ok. There is a lazy river type of ride that kids under ten will enjoy, but you might be wasting your money if your kids are older. The crown jewel is the wait can be two hours plus, so I would pass because there are better options for less money. With all that said, I would like to say that the staff was very friendly and were outstanding at handling such a busy place.
A thematic experience like no other! The food was great, and you especially wont want to skip the volcano for dessert! The ride was so fun, and our kids had a blast.
Ordered the coconut shrimp. It tasted burnt and tasted like burnt grease. We told the waitress and she said would you like us to redo it? I said just not this. She left and did not ask if I wanted anything else. It was taken off of the bill. Prices are to high for the quality of food and service.
We loved sitting in the bar area while we ate our lunch and drank cocktails! The waiter was friendly and professional and the food and atmosphere was excellent.
Perfect! Service and food was great. Grandson was amazed and he enjoyed the experience and that is what it was all about! Hamburger was huge! Fish tacos were a little spicy. Kids meal with milk was perfect. The Volcano dessert was the perfect ending. Grandson approved!
My wife and I had a great experience here! I ordered the Taste of the Sea, which is one of the more pricey dishes, and it tasted absolutely phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My wife ordered a hamburger and it was also very tasty and was cooked well. The atmosphere was fun and enjoyable, and our waiter was very friendly and attentive.
Too pack, I went present my VIP card and told me in 1 hour and half I will be called. But after 1 hour and half I went back and asked for an update and the previous staff did not put my VIP info and I was told I have to wait one more hour and half. My toddler was not very happy as me. So I went to another place after waste almost 2 hours waiting. The only good thing was the souvenir store... Very nice.... Staff from the restaurant please remember costumer services skill and smiles... I know is hard that is why I did not make a drama, and I was not rude even if I was upset... But the staff was not very friendly.... after they complain about costumers.... They need a better training with costumer services skills.
We went to the schleterbaun in Galveston then to Rainforest Cafe and what a great ending to my daughters 13th Birthday !
Enjoyed every moment of this place. Kids were amazed with all the animals. The ride after the meal was fun too.
The service and kind people were extraordinary, Ill hopefully continue my tradition coming back next year!
Food was great. I highly recommend the ribs. Service was great had to wait a little for the food, but was well worth it. Very interesting, but comfortable atmosphere. A little higher on the price range, but hey why not every now and again. Definitely add it to your visit to the island.
Rainforest cafe in Galveston’s is amazing. I love that they have a ride it is so cool. The food personally I’m not the biggest fan but it a nice place for kids and the fact that is all about the rainforest is awesome.
The best Rainforest Cafe weve been to!Ill start by saying it is absolutely imperative that you GET A RESERVATION! We attempted to eat here the first night of our stay and the place was SWAMPED! Hardly any room to walk through the gift shop and the wait was over two hours...So we left and made a reservation for a day later in the week. When we arrived on the day of our reservation the place was packed, but we waited about 10 minutes to be seated (and we checked in about 30 minutes before our actual reservation time). The menu consists of Cafe food, and plenty of great choices for kids (obviously 😂). The wait time for food after placing our order did seem a bit longer than your average restaurant. However, they had face-paint and Ballon guys walking around and offering entertainment for the kids... as well as the expected Rainforest atmosphere of animals to enjoy. Our food was warm when it arrived and looked delicious. I thought the club sandwich was great! After eating we checked out the ride underground... its definitely worth the additional cost and adds extra entertainment for the kids. I wish more Rainforest Cafes would add this in!We finished our trip with a build-a-bear (yeah my kid is spoiled to get the whole treat, but hey its a yearly vacation splurge). Full BAB experience youd get in-store.All in all, I would say this is a must have stop for parents and kids! Be sure to set aside some money for this visit and save yourself the headache by making a reservation!!
Very fascinating for younger children! My 20 mo grandson just loved it. But it was so exciting he did not want to eat much. The kids chicken n shrimp would have been perfect but the shrimp was off. He did eat the chicken and some mac n cheese. Everyone tasted the shrimp to see and it was nasty. All our food was fine. To be honest, the prices are high for the quality of the food. You are paying for the ambiance and experience.
Hostess was too busy having a conversation with her friends to attend to my husband and I, we probably waited a total of 3 minutes standing in front of her for her to acknowledge us. We were then seated at a huge half circle table when it was only 2 of us (there wasn’t many people here). Server was friendly. Prices are pretty high for the quality of the food. Overall just not a good experience!
Cons:- Two hour wait- Food wasnt exceptional- pretty priceyPros:- They handled my wheat allergy amazingly well. Immediately sent out a manager who talked me through my options. I settled on a GF burger and fries.I felt confident eating my dinner. A manager brought out my food separately. I GOT TO EAT FRENCH FRIES FROM A RESTAURANT! This is huge for me!The food was not to die for but the fact that they valued my well being was more than enough to earn them 5 stars. Thank you so much for taking allergies seriously.
Food is pricey BUT taste great and the whole experience is worth it!Party of 11... and the waitress was awesome!Make reservations online a week in advance or expect a 2 hour wait! We got there at 2pm ...seated at 330pm...food by 415...out by 530!
Beautiful atmosphere but what really makes the difference is the service, friendly, quick and efficient.
I really liked this restaurant it was so interactive and interesting but the wait was so long we waited for 2 and a half hours but it was worth it the coconut shrimp were delicious matched with the pineapple sauce it was delicious I would really recommend reserving if you don’t want to wait that long
This place is so great for family fun. The wait was 2 hours, but it was the weekend. They have a fun little water ride you can go on while you wait that feels like you are floating through the jungle. There is also a massive gift shop. The food was delicious, and the portions are massive. I have a whole second dinner left over. I definitely recommend coming here.
Awesome awesome awesome family time.Great food and friendly staff. Raft Ride was amazing. .
Our waiter was the absolute best. The kids loved the atmosphere. But the food was awful. My 6 year old refused to eat the pizza. Im thinking how can you mess up a cheese pizza. Then I tasted it🗣️ cardboard. I told the manager how disappointed I was he quickly reacted to rectify the situation.. but by then the damage had already been done. By the way these are pictures are after we ate.
I tried booking a party for my special needs son for his upcoming birthday. He loves Rainforest Cafe and enjoyed the water ride on our last visit. I went online and filled out the party form where someone was to reach out to me with more information. Our reservation was for around 30 people. I never received a call. I waited a couple of days and reached back out where I spoke to a gentleman who assured me that Melissa would call me the next day. Melissa did call the following day and said she would email me what they could offer for the party. I never received an email. I called back a couple of days later to let her know I never received anything. I called the restaurant 6 times where I was hung up on 4 times and the other 2 times there was no answer. I asked my husband to call on his number and immediately the phone was answered... by Melissa. He told her we never received the email that was supposedly sent. She said she would resend, but her attitude suggested like she didnt want to deal with us. Our patience grew thin with all the back and forth and he told her we would take our business elsewhere. Its unfortunate that all this time was wasted. If a party of our size couldnt be accommodated, then simply say so. Melissa mentioned we would not have our own private room and we would be amongst the other diners, which was fine. She also mentioned that they couldnt take our reservation anymore, but we could go online and book it with Open Table in advance. All in all a waste of time.
Rainforest cafe!! I forgot how much my kids loved this place!! Heck, I forgot how much this kid loved this place, and still do!!! Great food, wonderful wait staff, they really treat you well. Who can complain about their volcano ice cream stack! Wow 😋!!! Now, this location is special! It has a small ride around a Disney style river raft!! What fun! This ride has it all, spooky, mystery, intrigue, but most of all, good clean fun!!! Enjoy 😉
We love this place. And we will continue to come back.
Food was great. The staff was friendly. Cool place to go.
We made reservations and it was really quick, the food was limited but pretty good! I think every dish we ordered it was enormous that we couldnt finish it, thats a pretty good sign. I would say the price of everything is in par with Disney, but thats what you get for a vacation destination.
Fun place for good food and good drinks, especially if youre out with kids...but who are we kidding? Adults dig that water ride! The service is great, the atmosphere is exciting and the servers work hard to get tables seated, served and bussed, as their dinner rush is no joke!! They do a great job with birthday celebrations, as well. Also, you can take home a complimentary glass if you order one of their special drinks. Win-win!
Fun scenic place, wasnt much to the menu. Gift shop had some nice things(expensive). Platter was good, different varieties of yummy finger foods.
I love this place! It is one of my favorite restaurants. The sparkling chocolate lava cake is great for celebrations! The kids love roaming the gift shop. One thing though, if you are visiting during summertime make sure to make your reservation a few days in advanced for even 2 people because the wait time is insane! Two hours! But like I said it is one of the best! 😁
Great place and food.
Awesome place to eat, my daughter has celiac and the chef came out to make sure that nothing that we ordered for her was cross-contaminated with gluten.
The atmosphere is fun with the interactive rainforest theme and the gift shop. The food is kinda pricey... expect to spend $20-$40 per person. General consensus of our party was that the food was good but it could have been great for the prices.
We had so much fun! I love That build a bear is in here also.
We were seated quickly, our food was good when we received it.. our waiter was not good. He took along time to come to our table, get drinks, get our orders. He cut us off repeatedly when we were talking and asking questions about our food. We had to request things 3 times. After not receiving them we tried to flag down 2 waiters and than got up,, walked up to another wait staff to ask for our items we needed. For the cost of the food and experience... our experience should of been better. Sadly our experience was frustrating dealing with poor staff.
It would have been way better if we hadnt waited until Saturday night!!! We left when we heard the 3 hour wait but the inside was even cooler than the outside!!!
Ordered the MOJO Bones 1/2 rack ribs, fries, and coleslaw. Very good seasoning on ribs and tender. I would definitely order again.
Fun place. Great location.
My son loves this place. The river ride is always an enjoyable experience. The decor is somewhat dingy, but still fun. The food was actually better than what Ive had in the past from here as well, and the waitress was very sweet to my son. Its almost two hours to get there for us, and my son doesnt like long car rides, but even for him it was well worth the trip, even if we only make it once a year. Definitely worth it just for the location and the river ride! Would recommend.
The food is fine, you can share all the main dishes (they are HUGE). The real reason to go here is the atmosphere, the animitronics, thunderstorms and giants aquariums are awesome! This specific location is our favorite that Landrys offers. It is shaped like a volcano, and it erupts! There is a short ride the is 7$ per person. If you have the money do it. If not you are not missing much, but it is alot of fun!
Definitely be prepared for a wait, but don’t let it discourage you. For me the wait was definitely worth it. Are waitress was absolutely amazing. She helped with any questions we had about the menu and was great with the recommendations. The food was excellent. It was the perfect combination of ingredients. I highly recommend doing the river ride. It was tons of fun & the family loved it. The price for that was a lot cheaper than I thought too, which is always a plus.
Line was insane so ate at the bar and it was phenomenal! Bar tenders were very attentive, drinks came out in minutes and food was fast. Really good food as well!
This place is designed to opportunistically maximize profit out of cheap products and offerings.Employees seemed downtrodden and overworked in a heavily top down environment. They seem trained to squeeze money and not give in to customer pressure. This is exemplified by the manager who made a big deal about cheap ice cream sandwiches that we refused to pay ($8 each), since they were given as a compliment (after spending over $300 on the ride, build a bear, pictures, souvenirs and a dinner with drinks). The manager was insistent, but when she finally conceded, she seemed angry still and wanted the name of the server responsible for the miscommunication, probably for retaliation.I feel bad for people who work here and for any customers who attempted any sort of reparation with managers and leaders.Their focus is on high season volume over quality of service.
I absolutely love the food, and ride. I am so happy with the service and I will come again when I have a chance. The wait is a long time, but I know the reason is because the food is good. Thank you for the good experience, Rainforest Cafe.
Great place to visit. Very cool employees. Nice gift shop. I would have given more stars but the prices are very very expensive. But the water ride was great, not to expensive. The gift shop wasnt to high. But the restaurant was very expensive. The food was just Ok. Nothen I would want to go back and eat. We spent 250.00 for just 4 of us. But my kids loved it.
Amazing atmosphere! It Can be a little overwhelming to younger kids. With moving robot animals, and thunderstorms and the aquarium theres loads to look at while you eat. Theres a great diverse gift shop and a river ride too! This place is pretty great. The food is a little pricy but the atmosphere makes up the difference.
Its a fun, family friendly atmosphere. A bit over-priced and not as good as it used to be.. Great for special occasion dining.
Was pretty crowded but my son loved it!! Food was good so was the ride!
Food was better than we were expecting. We went for the experience and were blown away by the ribs! Service was top notch waiter even asked for feedback at the end! He wanted to know how he could do better honestly he was great but after that question I was just so happy to see his desire to give a great experience. I left our pictures on the table on accident went back and they reprinted them for me! I am so mad at myself for not making note of the names of your staff but out of all the places we dined this trip your staff were the best by a long shot!
Lets be Honest, this place is Amazing! No one goes to reviews to read Good reviews, we want to see the negatives.1. This place has a pretty timey wait, but if you want FAST Food, then go get fast food. PERFECT For a family outing!!After our TIM3LY wait, the food came out STEAMING HOT AND SIZZLING! I was out of town on this trip, and this meal made my family and I feel like we were out of town!!2. Waiters are extraordinary!! TIP TIP AND TIP!My wife ordered the Ribs, I Ordered the Fajitas and boy oh boy was I pleased with their results! Wasnt too pleased with the kids meal though, the kids Pizza was not eatable looking, and the vegetables that came with it wasnt tOo appealing either.3. Parking is not the best, but the location for the festivities are AWESOME!!!4. If I had to rate this Wonderful place i would rate it an honest 1000/100!But enough of my review,GO CHECK IT OUT YOURSELVES!! AND REPORT BACK HERE!WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!LETS GO RAINFOREST, LETS GO!I give them five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
Best place ever!! Food was exceptional and so was the price for the amount of food you received. Service was fantastic.
This place here. They close at 9 in the middle of summer on a beach. Let that sink in. Then they stop taking names at 7 for tables when they are busy. I mean really. Laundry Select Member? Yep. They dont care. What a horribly run business.
Great place. Great atmosphere. And probably one of the best meals Ive ever had. Seriously! You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not go here if you are in Galveston.
Galveston, TX: We tried to go yesterday, but had a two hour wait. Tried to book on line this morning for a dinner tonight, wasn’t able to. Went to restaurant around 2:00 and mentioned inability to book online. Was told they don’t do online as they are too busy. We’re told 1.5 to 2 hour wait. We ran an errand and came back…wait time was about hour and 45 minutes. Service was terrible. Asked for extra glass of ice when I ordered, but didn’t get it. Asked for it a couple times and finally got it. Husband had to flag down waiter for his refill. Food eventually arrived, 45 minutes later-COLD. We were starving at this point and ate it. Burger was mediocre at best-certainly NOT worth $20. Granddaughter’s pizza was very salty. To wait over two hours and pay $24 for fries, a burger and a tea, it better be good. All-in-all, not worth the wait or the money.
Very very fun experience!! The wait was WELL WORTH IT!! Ive never been to a Rainforest Cafe before, and I am SO GLAD we chose this to be the first one we visited! Looks super cool on both the outside and inside as it is rainforest themed. Theres a gift shop you can go in and shop as soon as you walk in. Our waiter, Tyler B. was the nicest guy with THE BEST personality! He made us laugh the whole time. Food is pricey and not as good as I hoped, but not bad either. Every 30 minutes they do a little thunderstorm show which I thought was SUPER COOL! I will recomend them place to anyone who asks! Thank you guys for the best experience!
Its too cute here! We did the ride through the rainforest twice which was so adorable. The staff at the bar was nice and chill. Everything was a great experience.
Beautiful restaurant. Family friendly. Amazing food. Great bartender.
Food was great, service was great, and the energy of the Rainforest Cafe, was magnificent!!! But the seating needs a little work. Other than that it was wonderful!
The kids absolutely loved this place! They especially enjoyed when the thunderstorm happened. My fish tacos were okay. I got the fish grilled and it was a little bland. I will try blackened next time. The river ride that they had was really fun and entertaining for the kids. My child really liked their mac and cheese and she is very particular about her mac and cheese. The face painter and ballon animals were a nice touch.
Its a great experience if you have small children. Just hated the wait time. And be prepared to spend a lot of money, cause the food is not cheap!
Great experience for the family. Rather pricey in my opinion- portion sizes definetly need to increase for the price. Otherwise great experience. The drinks are WEAK!
This place is good for the kids the atmosphere and such. And our server was awesome. But the food is over priced garbage. Your dont know it exist and they dont have to. Dodge this tourist trap and save yourself about 250 bucks.
Our first time ever eating here and even though the food selection wasnt what I had pictured, it was still good.
Loved it great food and awesome customer service! Lots of fun too
First time going and such a amazing time I had.. will be coming back
This is one of my favorite Rainforest cafes to go to. My advice is to make reservations if planning a trip to the area, like we did. Many people were waiting last night for 2 hours for a table. The food was good and our service was great; despite how busy it was. And of course, the kids loved it.
Staff was great. Food was ok. Chicken in my pasta was rubbery, ribs you couldnt even get off the bone and the cheese sticks were hollow on the inside. Went for the ride and half of it was shut down employee stated we dont open the ride fully during slow days. Food was pricey as well
Its great, and fun! Service is a little slow do to how busy it is. Server was great! Its just so packed out. Everything else was great. Such a fun experience for me and my family
Awesome food but $20 for hamburger is steeply priced.
This place is always a great spot to bring the family. The ride is awesome and the food is always good. If the weather is right and not raining, it is always fun to stand outside and watch the volcano erupt. They have people walking around to do face painting and balloon animals. Good times for all ages.
This is the coolest place!!! The food is wonderful, so is service. The bathrooms are clean. The staff is so kind, and work together. Their management is awesome and works beside their employees 100%, they were always going to tables asking if anyone needed anything, and would go and get it themselves, very friendly family oriented place. Will definitely go back. Thanks for the awesome time
This is my favorite restaurant to bring my family. The kids absolutely love the ride and the food is amazing! If you ever come.... make sure to leave room for the volcano dessert. My kids absolutely love it and it is big enough for the whole family.
Never lets us down. Waitstaff is very friendly,Love the gentleman that go around and face paint and make balloons for the kiddos! Reasonably priced, got the spicy pasta and it was amazing.
Love the themed restaurant and this location has the water ride experience! Great food and family fun for sure.
Great place for kids and very nice atmosphere..downside is the food isnt that good..would come back for drinks though
