The office/management doesnt seem to care about your very fair, reasonable needs. Melissa cant be bothered with any extra work so if you need anything done, be prepared to fight. I attached some photos of the condition we received our apartment in when we moved it. It hadnt been cleaned since the last tenant moved out months before we step foot in it, and they had a cat... I could tell because of the hair. Had to chase down the front office to clean the apartment, at first sent out an older gentleman who was nice but didnt clean everything, and didnt clean it as well as a professional company would have. Another three emails later we FINALLY got Cedar Court to send a legitimate company to clean our apartment two months after our move-in date. Filed multiple noise complaints about our unruly neighbors with Cedar Court and nothing happened. After another two months of waiting to see if anything changed, we decided to call the police non-emergency number like Melissa instructed us to do if we had any issues and only then Cedar Court distributed a reminder to quiet down because a City of Gaithersburg employee was now involved and holding Darnestown Management Company accountable for actually taking action. Overall, fellow tenants are loud and leave trash in the hallways, constantly. Also be mindful that quite literally over 10 times a day trains will be running RIGHT ALONGSIDE the parking garage attached to Cedar Court. Through the night, too.Mario the maintenance guy is wonderful and I wish him the best because he always was friendly, accommodating, and got the job done correctly.TL;DR: This place was not worth the money at all and pretty much sucked all the way around. Other tenants suck, management sucks, and the train horn is beyond annoying. Please take your money elsewhere. Park Place Apartments across the train tracks has better amenities, tile floors (not vinyl like Cedar Court), and almost identical layouts for the same amount of money.
We lived there for around 6 months in a 2bed/2bath apartment. It has good and bad things, but be aware of its utility costs! Its really high especially Water/Sewer and Electricity. I am now living in Alexandria, VA, and I can assure you that we pay one fourth to one third those utility bills in comparison to Cedar Court. And it might not be because of Gaithersburg as I found that other communities pay much less than us for their utilities.
This establishment is dishonest when it comes to getting your deposit back. They expect you to write a letter 2 months ahead of you moving out, and when you leave, they expect you to pay for the days that you no longer lived there as well! I didnt have any complaints while living in the apartment, but the way that they ended things left a sour taste in my mouth!
Repeatedly had mice problems. Melissa was very rude and didnt seem to care. They sent out Walkers past control who literally were idiots that couldnt fix the problem. I had to argue with the landlord to break my lease. They still wanted my children and I to pay for a mice infested apartment even after we werent living there anymore.
