Customer service is superb and you know you can trust Terry. He will tell you what really needs to be done and not do any work just to get your money. Hard to find a mechanic like that anymore. It’s pretty busy so be patient but who cares waiting a while in order to get peace of mind 🤔

Been going to Terry for a couple years now. He always fixes my car in a timely fashion and I NEVER worry about him ripping me off. He’s honest and professional which a rare quality I’m the car repair business.

It’s a very nice locally owned mechanic shop. The owner, Terry, was very professional and my mechanic, Will, was very fast and efficient on my tire repair. Overall, great service and I’ll probably go back next time my car needs any type of repair.

My car was brought in for an oil change and a free tire rotation courtesy of a coupon from a local magazine. I had no problems with my oil change but when I brought my car home and took a closer look, they never rotated my tires.I know this because I labeled my tires as A, B, C, and D prior to bringing my car in because I have always had problems with car shops saying they did the service when in reality they did not. Arriving home, I checked the labels and found that they were in the same spots as they were in before.Im disappointed to say the least with their business morals as I was hoping I could use this shop for future appointments.

Mr Terry is awesome!!! Ive been coming here since 2005. Hes saved me several times when my car broke down. I wouldnt have made it through nursing school if he didnt fix my car when it died close to the end of my last semester!! Hes honest and always tries to save you money by telling you what things need to be fixed now and what things need to be monitored. He also serviced my Mercedes ML350 and saved me a fortune!! He also offers towing to his business. Ive always recommended him to my friends and family. Hes continues to be blessing! Thanks Mr. Terry for all that you do 🙌🏾

Terry is great. I remember one time I went in for something but they couldnt find anything to fix, and let me go without even paying a diagnostic charge. It really spoke out to me on his reasonableness.

They charged me $220 for labor and $14 for the part to replace a cracked radiator flush tee. This is a maximum 10-15 min process. They knew that I had to get it done, because I wouldnt be able to drive the car without coolant. They basically took advantage of the situation, their work ethic is disgusting, and very dishonest.I asked 2 other places later, their prices were $45 and $60.

Id been a regular for at least 2 or 3 years,seemed really nice guy,his help would switch out several times it seemed someone different would be there each time,I began wondering what kind of help he was hiring,but it never effected my over all feeling if the place...UNTIL in December last year, went in for my regular oil change,and what I got back was a broken door handle,and a cracked windshield....and the door handle they asked me about..like I wasnt aware I had a broken handle..only it wasnt broke when I turned it over to them with my key...trying to blame me for braking my door handle..they fixed the next day, along with the cracked windshield they never told me about either...i say be careful of scams getting you to return to pay them more money and not needing to.

Very honest. It’s difficult to find an honest mechanic. But Terry’s is a great place to go. I didn’t know what was wrong with my car I thought it needed an alignment or something else. It turns out all I needed was air. I’ve gone to mechanics in the past who wouldn’t have told me the real problem and charge me for whatever work I thought I needed although it was a lot simpler. Terry is not one of those people who will take advantage of you. I will definitely be recommending this shop.

Im not sure what some people are talking about in here. I have been coming to Terrys for a very long time and not once have I had a bad experience. Terry always recommends whats best for my car, and if it wasnt for him, I would have had to get a different car a long time ago. Prices are decent, but I value customer service more than anything, and for their customer service, I wouldnt mind paying a little extra if any! I highly recommend this family oriented shop. I have tried many shops in town, and Terrys tops them all, especially in their exceptional customer service!

Terrys Automotive was recommended to me by Discount Tires. Thankfully, I took the suggestion and went to the right place. The splash shield of my car at the bottom of the engine was broken and it was coming off. They took care of the problem right away. The best part is they didnt charge me any money for the service. I was really impressed by their service and generosity. Surely, Terrys Automotive will be my first choice if I face some new troubles with my car. Till then, probably the least I can do is write a good review about them and express satisfaction as a customer. :)

Needed a new alternator installed, went to AutoZone on archer, Terrys installed promptly and professionally. Honest people who do good work.They allow you to bring your own part and skip the 300% parts markup that happens at most places in town. I highly recommend Terrys Automotive.

Very dishonest shop. I gave it a try because of good reviews online (most of which I think is fake now) and its close to home. I had an engine cooling problem and I knew the connection of the fan wasnt very good. Went in the shop for a diagnose, was told that I had to pay for more than $500 to fix, the replacement fan would cost $250. I told them to hold and looked up online. I could get the fan for less than $90. Called Terry and said I would pick up the car WITHOUT repair. Next morning, Terry told me the fan was replaced and had to charge me more than $500. I clearly told them not to replace the fan and they just did it without my permission. They ordered the fan while I was thinking about it, which means they wanted to force me to buy the service from the very beginning. THIS IS ROBBERY! From the previous reviews you can see this is how they do business, trick people into paying far more than they should. I am turning to legal assistance to fight for myself. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

Ive been going to Terrys for a couple of years now and absolutely love this shop and its team. My prius and I have frequent here with regular oil change to bigger issues like my hub assembly going out on both front tires or wiring issues I had with my headlights due to a ballast going out. I generally ask Terry to diagnose the issues I have and ask for a break down of whats wrong, what cost of parts are and labor is. Terrys has no problem with using parts I bring for them to use in my auto repairs. Terrys has been a great help with my mechanical issues and advice for the repairs I decide to do myself. Otherwise, if I can spare the money, I rather have his crew do the work. If they find an issue I didnt complain about, his team takes the time to show me the issue and explains the severity, if any, the issue may be. His team is by far my favorite of any shop Ive been to in the past. You just cant pay me to go any where else.

Ive owned a lot of cars and been going to these guys for a few years for different, primarily minor repairs and maintenance items. I find them to be very courteous, reasonable in price, trustworthy, and can often take things on with a short notice (but you better call them first!). I feel good about supporting them.

My selanoid went out on our 2003 Murano--While my 84 year old Mom was in the hospital !!! A Church Friend of mine told me that this place was Honest & Reasonable. So I called & the next mornin I was there a few minutes after 8a.m. Not only did the mechanic(Lee) fix the Murano, the price of parts & labor was so reasonable, I actually had a lump in my throat as I tipped him when he brought the Murano around front to me.I will NEVER take the Murano anywhere else. My Loyalty is for TERRYS AUTOMOTIVE.

Discount Tire recommended I have an alignment completed at Terrys. Excellent experience. The least time Ive ever spent at auto repair shop: 20 minutes. Ill be back.

I recently changed the thermostat on my Nissan Sentra at Terrys and they charged me at least $50 to $60 more than what a couple of other places told me they would charge. I dont think Im going to go there again and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

One of the sweetest and most honest people I have ever mett in the automotive business.

I called ahead of time to get a quote on labor only I was told a certain price I already purchased my parts took them with me and I dropped off my SUV. I was never called so I called the next day to check the status on when I would be able to pick up my SUV. I was then told that due to wear and tear a part broke, but I never received the call prior to me calling telling me a part broke (unprofessional). When I asked more into detail of what part broke and since they broke it why was I charged for it the front desk clerk was rude, obnoxious, and became very loud. Instead of arguing back and forth, I asked for the total price of my SUV because I thought that the customer should not have to argue back and forth. When the total price was given to me I question the fact that it was very expensive way more than quoted including the part they broke that I had to pay for then I was told about the taxes that was included with the labor never were the taxes mentioned when I got or received the quote. So when I picked up my SUV I paid for my bill actually I test drove it first to make sure the noise was now gone then I paid my bill I received one part back, I brought in a total of 4 parts to be used on my SUV so I should have received two parts back to return for a refund to the store I purchased them from but I was told I only brought in three parts which was a lie they kept my part.Personally I would never do business with them again due to the fact they have terrible customer service they keep parts that dont belong to them and they dont give you the total amount that you would have to pay prior to accepting them as the service mechanic.

Had a tire issue driving to Gainesville with my teenage daughters. Terrys was recommended by the lady at the front desk. Fast, friendly service found a loose valve stem. Final cost, $13, and they checked the other tires and replaced the donut. Very satisifed. ☺

Dropped off my sister-in-laws car for bad breaks. It was a crazy time in our lives and she was visiting from out of town. Terrys took great of us again. Will be back

I think seven of the nine reviews being two/ one star reviews says something about this company. Save yourself some time and go to smittys auto repair in NE Gainesville. They have thirty reviews above four stars.I went to Terrys for a simple job and had the part in hand. I needed spacer adapters placed on each of the four tires. I would have done it myself but I recently had my hand operated on and can not do that type of work yet. Took them twenty minutes and he charged me $100... I expected maybe $15. I would suggest that Terry take the time next time and explain to customers that his prices are what they are. If he would have done that before the job, I would have smiled and said thank you and gone somewhere reasonable instead of being a pissed off customer who was charged five times what he should have been for an in and out job. He could avoid bad reviews if he would explain his priced before hand, like the review under me. The bottom line is that they are slow and expensive compared to other mom and pop shops in town.To Terry, im not the first customer with this problem after going through the reviews. I suggest you inform your customers of your prices before you touch their car.

Ive went to Terrys a few times and was pretty happy with them so I even recommended them to my boyfriend who is very protective of his truck. Once, I came in to have my tires changed and Gary even told me after checking them out that they were so bad its a good thing I came in and I felt like they really cared about their customers. I even had an axle replaced when my car started making grinding noises when turning and was happy with the price.When my transmission started going out on me I got worried and took my car to Terrys the day before a long weekend since they were going to be open on the Monday holiday thinking that would give them a few days to work on it or at least give me a verdict. I knew beforehand that my transmission wasnt shifting into 4th gear just by driving it and was hoping they could fix it or put in a new tranny. After I dropped my car off after hours, I forgot to call and let them know my car was there until I remembered around midnight. I called to leave a message to let them know it was in their lot expecting a voicemail (like other shops Ive used before have) but was met with an angry sounding man because I had woken him up; I felt bad since it was pretty late and beat myself up about it but seriously? Why do they not have a voicemail for people to leave a message after hours? I waited until Monday afternoon and still hadnt heard anything back so I called and asked what was up. They told me they ran a diagnostic and it was possibly my tranny and the 4th gear was possibly the issue (which I already knew just from driving it). Then they told me to make sure, they would have to take my tranny out, put in their tester tranny, test it to see if that fixed the issue, then order a new one for my car if the test solved it. WHAT?! I was so annoyed I just told them I would pick it up in 20 minutes. When I showed up, I had to pay $50 essentially for nothing; in their words it was for diagnostics but that test told them the same thing I did. I know Im a woman but Im not an idiot when it comes to cars. I was so disappointed since I had pretty positive visits before but after this last visit it made me even question if they hadnt sold me new parts just to cheat me. I have since gotten a new car and I have no intentions of letting them near it or my wallet.
