My car was having some brake issues. Fishers got me in quickly and took care of the problem. They were able to pinpoint the issue and take care of it. Im really impressed with their honesty as they could have told me they did basically anything to fix the problem. However, they told me exactly what they did and did not charge me since it was such a simple fix. If I have any automotive issues in the future, I will be back to Fishers.

Dropped off vehicle to repair one thing and they broke something else, then they made all kinds of excuses and misdiagnoses. What they fixed is working great, but what they broke is still not working. To make a long story short: a few return trips later they started blaming me for something they broke - which was working perfectly fine before taking it in. Very nice at first, then they got extremely rude and bad attitude. Now I have to find a different mechanic to fix what they broke. Too bad, they came highly recommended by several friends, whom Ive warned now. They seemed honest at first, but youre either honest or youre not - you cant be sort of honest. Worst repair experience in my life. Why would I go back there or recommend them? I wouldnt.

The bill was exactly what they said it would be and not a penny more. When I was looking to buy another vehicle (used). Chris told me that any car or truck that I was thinking about buying bring to him and he would look them over at no charge before I bought it. He kept to his word when I showed up, he looked them over, gave me his honest opinion at NO charge. EVERY visit that I have had there has been great. Ive been to a lot of places over the years in Gainesville because either a mechanic forgot to reattach a plastic cover or the prices were too high. Never because a place wasnt friendly enough. Gainesville is full of friendly.Fishers is friendly too and the prices are comparable to everyone else in Gainesville so no issues there.Fishers doesnt standout but thats okay. Not every business needs to in order to make you glad you went there. The lobby is small but is clean and tidy and they have a fenced in property to keep your car safe after hours and theres a bench outside if you want fresh air while you wait. Its walking distance to The Clock restaurant if you want to eat while you wait or just because food, yes I like The Clock (its old fashioned and the food is good (not amazing 😉)).I recently took my Murano in for what I knew was an expensive job (catalytic converters getting clogged after 100k miles). The best price I could get was more than I was comfortable with (over $2000) and Fishers understood that and didnt complain when I decided to not go ahead with repairs.A few months prior to this I had them troubleshoot the engine cutting out which led to them replacing the alternator because I didnt have time to do it and they did a fine job for a reasonable price (approx $500). Ill go back to Fishers when I can for everything else but Im replacing the exhaust myself, if you cant do it yourself and you can afford it then Id trust Fishers to get the job done right. 😇

I have an ancient rustbucket of a car with constant issues. Ive had to visit Fishers Auto Repair a few times, and during each visit Ive received excellent service. The employees were always patient with me, even though I know nothing about cars, and took the time to explain exactly what they were doing and how much I could expect to pay.They even kept my car for a day and a half to run a diagnostic and charged me nothing---I couldnt believe it, though I am deeply appreciative! I wish I could have paid something! Great business if you need your car serviced in Gainesville. Ill definitely go back when my car inevitably needs more work.

We started coming to Fishers because of the glowing online reviews. We were having issues with my wifes battery and just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. We brought it in and they diagnosed the issue quickly and sent us on our way. The experience was positive, so when we had another issue we knew just where we were going. Should have gone somewhere else. Initially the staff was very professional, albeit busy, and they took in my car to get looked at and left me with the impression that the issue would be diagnosed within a few hours. When I returned to check on it they informed me that they would not get the chance to look at it that day, which was fine. I knew I needed to get new tires from the place I had originally gotten them because the warranty was going to cover the replacement, so I brought my wife’s car and asked them to remove the damaged tires. They gave me a hard time but ultimately agreed to remove one, the more damaged one, and sent me on my way to get the replacement. After getting it and returning they put it on and told me that they were sure my car was fine and to just take it home even though they hadn’t gotten a chance to look it over. As soon as I started to drive my car I could tell that it definitely was not fine, and since I felt as though they didn’t want to be bothered by me any more I decided to take it elsewhere. Turns out the control arm was bent and needed to be replaced. Had they bothered to keep the car to look at the next day it could have been taken care of but wasn’t. I understand being busy and stressed but I don’t feel like it should be taken out on a paying customer. Even if you think they’re asking too much, remember they’re dealing with the stress of fixing an issue with their car.Oh yes and the owners reply is completely fabricated, own up to your mistake. There is no excuse for a full service auto repair not to check for damages after being asked to and telling the customer its safe to drive. No body shop or insurance claim was ever mentioned because the mechanics assume there was no further issues.

Always had good experiences here and many friends and family use them, too. They are honest, fast, accommodating, and reasonably priced. We travel frequently between Wisconsin and Florida, and try to time visits so that these guys do the work on our cars. Never had an issue.

Highly recommended friendly and practical family business. I was referred to Fishers by Southeast Car Agency. I normally change my own oil, but couldnt get the drain plug loose on my new Jeep Cherokee. Fishers was happy to help out and used the new oil and filter I had already purchased, topped off my fluids, and charged me minimally for the labor. I arrived at 7:30am and was off to work by 8. I will certainly go back for my next service need.

Another big name mechanic in town told me I needed new shocks for the rear of my vehicle. I did a lot of shopping around town; I made maybe 10 phone calls to different shops. I chose Fishers because their price was $100 cheaper than every other shop I called, and the reviews on Google and Yelp were all very, very good. I can attest that those reviews are correct. I felt that Fishers gave me fair and honest pricing for labor AND parts. They also work very fast: I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Their office was very clean, and they have a cute front porch with a rocking chair, which is where I sat while I waited for my car. Their honesty and workmanship definitely earned my trust AND my business. I will be back!

Great folks! I came in with a bumper issue with my 2012 camaro and Elvin was kind enough to help me patch up the issue free of charge after several shops said I needed a new bumper. He was very generous with his time and gave me several local options for a long-term fix. I definitely recommend this shop.

Great experience at Fishers Auto Repair. I brought in my car when I noticed a change in how it was running. I was quoted over $100 at a local dealership just to diagnose the issue but Chris diagnosed the issue and gave me a fair quote on repair. Additionally, he gave me recommendations on car brands and local dealerships as I was in the market to trade-in my current vehicle. Chris informed me that he would do a free inspection on any vehicle I was interested in purchasing. Superior customer service!

Wonderfully honest people! They gave me a free diagnosis on my car and walked me through exactly what was wrong with it. I could tell they sincerely cared about getting my car back running and making sure their price was the lowest possible. They even checked to see if the part I needed was available at junkyards! 5 or so years now and hands down the best mechanics my wife and I have ever used. They are honest, take pride in their work, wont try to sell you anything you dont need, perfectly affordable, and explain things to keep an eye on. Weve referred dozens if people to them and have yet to have anyone else report a problem. Make an appointment, they usually will see your vehicle within a days notice.

I love Fishers Auto and have gone to them about five times now. As a young single female, it is so difficult to find good car repair companies that treat me respectfully and fairly and Bridget, Gary, and Chris have all been wonderful. They take the time to explain what needs to be done and why, the prices are reasonable, and they make the effort to squeeze you in in an emergency or on my day off. As a young woman I feel at times men at auto repair shops are trying to take advantage of me. I went to 5 different auto shops in Gainesville before finding Fishers Auto Repair. Ive been taking my car here for 2 years and cant imagine taking it anywhere else. I cant make sense of mechanic jargon and thankfully theyve never tried using it on me. They give concise easy to understand explanations and never tried to up sale me. They only recommend what my car needs and when I compare it to my mamual mileage recommendations theyre usually spot on. They have convenient hours. Even when I didnt have an appointment, I needed my break light fixed and only had a brief window of opportunity in the morning before work, they squeezed me in. They got my light fixed in minutes. I cant say enough about how much I appreciate these guys.

I was needing someone to evaluate two used cars from two dealerships that I was looking to purchase. Even though I was out of town and was not a previous customer they still were 100 percent willing to help. Spoke with Chris and others on the team and they did a very thorough job. Found a few areas with struts, transmission fluid, tires, spark plugs and such but I was especially appreciative that they found a needed repair that would have cost me between $1000 and $1500 dollars! So that was a big no-go on that vehicle! They also printed it out so that I could show the details to the dealer. This was a HUGE help! I used this for the one vehicle I decided to purchase. I went to the dealer and because of the info they agreed to purchase 4 tires and do a transmission service. Plus, they went $1300 lower than the tag. In return I plan to use them when I can for future repairs!!!

Great small auto repair place. I went in for an inspection needed on my car, where my dealership was going to charge an outrageous amount, I left and ended up here at Fischers; where I was charged the minimum, done in a short time, and had great company. 10/10 would recommend to friend.

I have now brought my 1997 Ford Explorer to Fishers twice within the past year, and both times they completed the job quickly and for a good price. Ive even asked them to check on what I thought was a battery issue, and while they could have told me that I needed a new one to make a quick extra buck, they said it worked fine and there was no need to change it out. I appreciate their honesty and fast turnaround time. I feel fortunate to have found a honest and reliable place in Gainesville. I will continue to go to them and recommend them to friends and family.

Mr. Fisher was recommended to me by my brother-in-law when I experienced transmission problems. The work was reasonably priced, and the turnaround time was good. I was told this company would do the job right, treat me fairly, and that it operates with integrity and honesty. I felt that was all true, and I will definitely use them again.

NEVER USE THIS SHOP I took my car here for fuel issues and they replaced parts that where not broken. They broke my fuel gauges and tried to blame water damage so I got two different opinions and they both said there is no water damage and that the parts that are causing my fuel issues are still bad and where never touched when I came back to fishers to ask for them to fix the correct parts or refund my money they gave me lies and tried to talk down to make me sound like I was in the wrong even after getting a big dealership diagnostic and an inspection by my insurance company. I heard them be rude to two other customers while I was there dropping off and picking up my car and the manger Chris kept giving me some like about him having to pay his bills so I guess they are only worried about there bills and not there customers I recommend finding shop with a better view of there customers: (post owner answer) thank you for yet again showing you are a lier and should not be trusted I will do my best to spread the word you cant just say a bunch of BS that might sound like car stuff and get a free pass you are a the if Im so glad my credit card company let me take my money back so I didnt have to let a like cheat like you keep it I hope you business fails so noono elas will get caught up in you web of lies

I have been going to Fisher for 15 years. While Gary Fisher was running the business. It was great!However now all new employees with uniforms and staff. Now it all changed terrible repair service they leave the nut and bolt loose and they know how to create more work on your automobile that will no longer work properly. (Beware)

Started having noise and vibrations from my front end. Called Monday morning, they diagnosed the issue and provided a quote that afternoon, fit me in first thing Tuesday morning for a 4-5 hour repair, and I had my car back good as new Tuesday afternoon. No squeaking, rocking, or creaking now. The thing drives so straight now I could turn on cruise control, close my eyes and take a nap on 39th Ave. There was no waiting on parts, no we can fit you in in 2 weeks, they just helped me as quickly as possible. I expected to pay twice as much at the dealer and feared going to a shop to be given a laundry list of issues. Not at Fishers. They dont nickle and dime on shop fees, materials fees, diagnostic fees, storage fees, coffee fees, its hot in Florida while I work on your car fees, etc. like you may expect from some places. Yea, it cost money to fix your car. Get over it! If you want it done right, go to Fishers. Gary and his son Chris run the place with their reputation on the line, and it shows. Top notch service.

Some of the nicest most honest mechanics I have ever dealt with! I went in for a diagnosis, knowing beforehand that I had many and potentially expensive issues going on with my older car. JT and his team diagnosed everything, gave me a breakdown of pricing per repair and also told me honestly which repairs were essential and which were non-essential but still priority to fix soon. At the end of him assisting me with everything, I decided to not go ahead with any repairs because I felt at that point would be better to either sell or parts out my car due to its low value. JT was very kind and understanding and didnt even charge me for the time him & his crew spent looking at my car, which most places would have. 10/10 experience here.

I needed my passenger side mirror replaced and they did it for far less than what others were charging around town. They were great, quick to the point and VERY informative when answering questions. Only place Ill take my Jeep to in Gainesville. ALWAYS honest, up-front, accommodating. My estimate has always been what I walk out the door paying. I made the unfortunate mistake of taking my Jeep to Pep Boys for a major repair (head gasket) and its completely shot. I should have gone with my gut and just let Fishers spend the extra time on it to get it right.

My son recently took his 2010 pickup to Fishers for an $800 repair to his evaporator core.Later that day after the truck was picked up it overheated and quit running. The truck was parked on the side of the road and the next day towed to another shop (Fishers was closed) for diagnostics.Upon inspection it was determined that Fishers had NOT attached the heater core hoses, allowing fluid to be lost. If that wasnt enough it was also determined that Fishers had broken the passenger side door as well.The truck was towed back to Fishers with request to effect repairs and for a refund of the towing fees and a portion of the work. Fishers refused to pay any portion of towing nor refund anything paid.Do not go here for repairs as they do poor work and do not understand customer service.

Ive been here twice now. First, my ac stopped blowing cold and I feared the worst. They found it was merely an O ring crack and fixed it for less than I could have hoped.The second time I came here I brought a vehicle that I had a 7 day trial for after purchasing. They did an inspection for free found the car to be unsafe and gave me a ride home. They even stored the car for free. Theyre amazing.

Chris even took the time to talk to me about the situation even though he was clearly swamped with work. you dont typically find that kind of attention to detail in an auto shop.After dealing with a horrible situation from Mike the Mechanic and his shity white bus and redneck ingenuity I was told that these guys could help me out. They came through with flying colors. Fixed the caliper that was installed backwards. And then they only charged me labor because they didnt have to fix any parts. They also gave me an estimate on my brakes which they said didnt need immediate attention but would require changing in the near future. I love the shop and will bring my car back here again and again when I have a job that needs to be done. Dont forget to show any skeleton tattoos to the lady hanging out up there, shes a character.

Most honest shop in town. Theyve previously fixed my 1997 Saturn for a very fair price for all the work done (fuel pump, filter) and now theyve done some checkup and checkout work on my 2008 toyota. Everyone is really nice, very forthcoming and take things one step at a time. Theyll be honest about what you need to fix NOW and what you can wait and watch or save up for and fix when it works best for your budget. After many years of terrible mechanic service in South Florida and here in Gainesville Ive finally found a mechanic I can trust to get the job done and offer me advice.

Had a vibration in my car. Tires plus said they looked at it and it needed a tune-up for $600. Took it to Fishers and they diagnosed it as the vibration from the AC compressor kicking on in the car. The internet corroborated this issue for my car. Never going back to Tires Plus ever.

One of them the transmission after they looked would only go into 1 gear that cost over 2,000.00 to fix and then they some how messed up another car after all that damage they said it was going to be well over 3 thousand to fix. just think it is old when we do a test run to see what maybe wrong with a car it is finished off by them. I think the dog out the cars to make the problem finish off right there. Crazy... My husband now knows never to bring them anything again for it might cost us more if he does. they are nice people but even we all know there are snakes hidden in gardens of pretty flowers. Sorry they lost us as customers.
