Bought a nice Subaru in October 2020 here and only had it for three four months before it started having problems, it didn’t start right, had an old battery in shakes a lot when it starts, AC acts funny and shifts funny, so i decided to wait to see if it was going to be okay later because it was driving okay so when i did decide to take it in recently after a few more months and have them keep it for a few days then they told me it’s fine and nothing didn’t seem wrong when it’s clearly got huge issues they completely missed whatever is wrong with it and sent me on my way, I will never be back and will be trying to refinance with another dealership from the loan and mess I already got into with them for a better vehicle

My daughter was in last week and agreed to purchase a car pending a pre-purchase inspection at different auto shop. They agreed to the inspection and said that they would fix anything that came up in the inspection. Well, the inspection showed that the front struts are leaking and when she showed Cutting Edge the inspection report they said that she would have to cover parts! They did not even give her an estimate but the estimate from the other shop showed over $600 in parts alone! Unfortunately, I was not there and she signed the purchase agreement. They are already asking way above blue book and will likely get a kickback on the financing. So, why did they not keep their word on fixing the items? The pre-purchase inspection showed a couple other items that needed attention, as well.

Cjay and Kevin are fantastic to work with! They spent hours with me working on pricing, throwing in requested repairs, driving the vehicle over for a second inspection (which came back great) and answering questions. I was extremely nit-picky about any potential issues and feel 100% comfortable that I am getting a great ride and a great deal. They were patience, kind, and enjoyable to work with. You wont regret buying your next vehicle here! Especially knowledgeable about Subarus :)

This place is a disaster! They promised to fix my car for over two years since they sold it to me without it being able to pass emissions. And guess what never happened? Also, they kept fumbling around with the paperwork meaning I had to come back several times to sign something AGAIN. A friend of mine also tried to get a car from them, and it broke down not even after 3 months of her driving it. It’s bad news, and bad quality.

They were so kind and accommodating to me this morning when I had an engine scare in the middle of my road trip. And friendly to my cat 😻

Just moved to the area last year and I’m really happy I found this place. My wife and I both have used foresters and I previously owned 3 WRX’s, all of which have needed some kind of work. Of the multiple shops I’ve dealt with in the past these guys at cutting edge are the best. They are super helpful and a pleasure to deal with and they are now my go to shop.

We bought my son a used Impreza from Cutting Edge back in October. Within days of the sale there were a few issues with a misfire and associated check engine light, which prevented us from getting the emissions done and the vehicle registered. Not only did they take care of the issue, but some time afterward we had another issue with the clutch and because it had been such a short time after the purchase, they repaired that as well. I realize it sounds like they sold us a car with mechanical issues, but when buying used suabrus you never know. What we DO know is that they stood behind their product, they took care of my sons car, and did so with courtesy and professionalism all the way. 5 stars.

About buying a car right before such a huge adjustment in life with a new baby, Covid, a car lot i never dealt with before-especially used... but it was PAINLESS and they were so kind. I drove 16 hours a week after in the car and not one thing has gone wrong or caused an issue. They also took extra time getting me a new key fob after I left and the one I had didnt work and they made sure to take extra time with me working on literally EVERYTHING. Go to them, THEYRE HONEST and will make your experience worthwhile, thats coming from a 23 year old, 8 months pregnant, that had absolutely not a single mental breakdown during the new car buying experience . Great experience. These guys had us wait a couple of days to get the car we wanted up to their mechanical standards before we could pick it up, then they encouraged us to take it for an independent inspection. We had the car checked out (it was given the thumbs up by an authorized Subaru dealer) and we felt completely confident when we completed the transaction. I run a small service business, and I can recognize when people take pride in their work. We are Subaru car owners and wanted a decent used Subaru Outback, This place had more used Subarus in one place than any place I have seen. They replace the notorious Head Gasket problem as they have a mechanic there to do so.Upon my test drive of an Outback they fixed some of my concerns and was very happy.What is good at this place is that you can speak to the mechanic about any car on the lot and what he fixed on it.Great place!!

I have nothing but great things to say about the folks at Cutting Edge! I bought a Subaru Outback from Cutting Edge in January (2018), and the car has been outstanding. The purchasing process was low stress; Kevin was patient in answering my questions, and I never felt pressured to buy. Additionally, Kevin was highly professional and worked/talked with ME (a woman) despite my husband being with me. This was refreshing, since other places we went to defaulted to talking to my husband, despite the fact that I was the one purchasing the car. Kevin also replaced (for free) a malfunctioning part in the car after Id bought it. Overall, an excellent experience, and a really fantastic car.

My Sons girlfriend moved here from California and had very little money, or credit. The salesman that sold her the cheapest car on the lot said that he was thinking of buying the car to get to work and back with to avoid the mileage on his primary car. He had said they checked it out and should run fine for the next year or so, especially just to work and back. Sounds good, its a Toyota, although dented and dirty, usually reliable. Cosmetics aside, its a $1400 car. It had several problems the first couple of days, which they fixed. About 2 weeks later if broke down with a $2000 estimate of repairs from the shop. Car sold to junk heap after 2 weeks of driving. I feel bad I recommended this dealership to her, and wouldnt recommend them again to anyone else. They definitely live up to the shady used car dealer stereotypes. A cheap car is a cheap car, but this car was NOT worth $500. Girl had to quit her job and take one closer to home with less pay so that she could walk to work. I think that car should have been scrapped and called a loss, not sold to someone who could obviously not afford the overpriced scrap metal.

Bought a Subaru Forester from these guys. It was a great buying experience. No hidden fees everything was clearly laid out. Very happy with my car and was able to make numerous trips to the slopes after my previous car died. They are super quick with servicing and quite affordable. Very friendly and always a pleasure doing business with them. Its nice to be able to buy used cars from people who actually know the mechanically quality of the car they are selling. Revoking a good review because somewhere this place went terribly wrong in the last year. Had a good experience but it doesn’t make up for the terrible one we just had. Won’t go into details but they WILL mess up your car and lie to you about the work they have done on it. DO NOT buy from here or go for repairs.

The staff seemed friendly, and showed me a few Outbacks that I tested out. Everything is fairly beaten up, and it was hard to find anything that didnt have some major cosmetic issues (inside and out). I finally settled on a car, which was priced about $2000 over blue book. When I mentioned this to the salesman, his only reply was we dont haggle. I noted the poor condition of the cars and he said that that isnt our niche and went on to explain that they fix all the mechanical issues and that is what you are paying for.They have an interesting business strategy: Fix the mechanical issues known to Subs, including the gaskets and whatever pressing issues arise. Charge way over blue book for this service alone, which is done inexpensively in their own shop. Give no price break, even if the car has massive cosmetic issues that will affect its resale later on.I ended up buying a nicer car with all all the same mechanical updates for $1800 less after a bit of leg work. Based on the reviews here, they clearly have some satisfied customers, but it just wasnt for me. I cant see paying a 25% premium on a vehicle that is so readily available here in Colorado.

I should have bought my car from Cutting Edge. But, I thought I was getting a great deal on a car that I found online. Sure I saved money. The purchase price. I have spent four times what I saved in repair costs. I now take my car on a regular basis to Cutting Edge for repairs. The guys there have been wonderful and have really helped me so much. Last Friday (right before Labor day) my car died in the middle of an intersection. Had car towed to shop, didnt get there until afternoon and they fixed it while I waited. Needed an altinater and battery. Very honest, and helpful. I highly recommend for repairs and purchase.

All the routine maintenance was done all I had to do was change the oil. After taking our 06 outback xt to a Subaru dealer they recommended a new valve cover gasket due to a leak. After a high price fix it still leaked and now the power steering was leaking and they recommended another high cost repair. We had Cutting edge look at the car and after completing the work correctly and recommending a simple inexpensive power steering fix the engine does not leak fluids! We are very happy with Cutting Edge and the honest, professional way they do business.

Just purchased a 2005 Subaru Impreza from Cutting Edge. I had never heard of them before buying this car. Kevin was my salesman and he was so easy to work with and he applied no pressure in trying to get me to buy something. Cjay is the owner and although I only met him briefly he was good to work with also. He is very hands on both on the lot and in the shop making sure his customers are being taken care of.I would like to say that Cutting Edge will go over and beyond what a typical dealership does when buying an older used car. Cutting edge not only sells Subarus, but they also specialize in working on them right there on the same lot. They replaced several preventive maintenance items that needed to be done at 100k miles (timing belt, water pump,head gasket, spark plugs, etc) and any other things I found or they found as they went over the car. This is why I bought the car because of their willingness to make sure the car was in great shape and reliably sound.My previous used car buying experience at a couple of the big dealerships in Ft. Collins, the salesman flat out told me they didnt know if any timing belts were changed or not and the car is sold as is! One even had a bad wheel bearing and leaking valve cover gasket they refused to fix.... So if you need a Subaru that will be in good shape and ready to drive give Cutting Edge a try.Jeff

I redacted my previous negative review due to the fact that I believe a neglectful previous owner was at fault for the vehicles issues and not Cutting Edge. I did already have to replace the vehicle with something more reliable but I take responsibility for not having the car looked at by an outside shop. The guys at cutting edge were great through the buying process and when I had a problem CJ was quick to contact me but I sold the vehicle shortly after the contact.Thanks guys.

I purchased a 96 Legacy Outback about two months ago. The buying process was painless, I didnt feel pressured, and overall it was a smooth experience. They even replaced the clutch and fixed a few minor problems you find with old cars. A few days ago the fuel pump died unexpectedly. I had it towed in Friday afternoon and they had it running by 10am the next day for a very reasonable price. These guys are fantastic!

They work with extreme skill and knowledge, with over the top personal service. Lucky to have them here, almost hate to write this review because I would hate to see them grow too much, or move up and out. Lucky to have them in Fort Collins.

I bought my outback here about a year ago and was very pleased with the customer service provided. It was the first time I bought a car not through a personal sale and they made it a very easy experience. As a woman I sometimes encounter people that think they can take advantage of me in the car industry but these guys are very fair and upfront about everything. Even when there was a mechanical problem (I did get an older car) shortly after purchase they made it right in no time. I also went back to them last week just for an a/c fix and they were superb yet again. I highly recommend buying or servicing your car here, Cjay is a great owner and all the employees are great too! I know Ill be going back when I get to upgrade to a newer car!

Purchased a Subaru Impreza from them. They were to put in a new battery, fix broken tail lights and the trunk was leaking. I had to keep on them three times to replace the battery with a new one because they would replace it with one year newer, starting with a 2010 year battery and they put in an 11 then a 12 year telling me it was a new battery. Three times to get a brand new battery and was told multiple times that they did just that. Upon picking up the car, there was a hose broken and reglued on the air box. The trunk leaked, they didn’t replace the $40 seal with a new one as promised, just used black sealant but I didn’t find that out till later and I moved out of state. I really love my car but I wished I didn’t go through them to get it because of the hasle I had to deal with.

Great experience and service before, during and after the sale. Kevin and CJ were great to work with and did not pressure us but were very patient as we asked lots of questions. Learned a lot about Subarus from these guys as they are more than just salesmen, they are mechanics whose passion for fixing Subies really shows. We needed a dependable car that our kids would be using too and it was piece of mind to know that the engine had so much work done on it. Very thorough. First let me explain that I come all the way from the Black Hills of South Dakota to do business with these guys. They are unique group. There are a lot of jokes about me on how many cars I go through and I have bought and picked up vehicles from all over the country, private party and dealers alike. This place is the first of its kind that I found. They have many Subarus which first drew them to me. And if you dont know Subarus are wonderful cars but requires some very specific maintenance that is always required at certain miles. Well here no matter what u get new timing belt and waterpump but while they are in there inspecting the vehicle they will replace anything and everything it needs prior to letting it leave their lot. That includes things like HEADGASKETS, axles, CV joints,brakes, rotors, everything! They will treat a high mile car like its a high profile Mercedes and they will treat an under $10,000 buyer like a high profile new car buyer. If you are reading this review please take it for me, a guy with a lot of experience with car lots, THIS IS THE PLACE. Its well worth the drive. Its also nice that the owner (Cjay) is always happy to directly communicate with you... No hoops to jump through to get to main authority. A+ all the way!

Update since my last post: Cjay did contact me and I have to be honest, I never contacted him back due to frustration with previous encounters. I just thought I would rather deal with someone else. My car finally broke down, unable to travel over 20 mph without horrible shaking and wheels on their last tread, etc. I broke down and called Cjay. In tears and probably barely audible (mind you, I am six months pregnant, so emotion is out of my control) Let me just tell you, he was so nice, understanding and open. He listened to me and asked questions, then told me to bring my car in when I could and it would get taken car of and made right! What?! I was amazed at the openness and willingness to make things better. So, now my car has been fixed, cleaned and with a couple of extra just to be nice things done to it :) You often hear and experience how business want to make things right and then its the complete opposite with bad customer service, the problem getting blamed on you and frustrating product correction but Cjay and his staff made this a great experience and I couldnt be happier with Cutting Edge. So, once again, I have great things to say about Cutting Edge Auto and will continue to trust in their product and work ethic. Thanks again!I usually have great things to say about Cutting Edge Auto and this is my second car to have purchased from them (and my last) in this last year but I have to say that the quality and service has gone down quite a bit! This last vehicle was not thoroughly checked through or cleaned, I had a bug infestation in the seats which has taken multiple cleanings and I am still dealing with the bugs when they hatch on warm days. There was molded food that had been tucked inside the seat, as in, the upholstery around the seats upfront had been unzipped and food put inside and left! I couldnt figure out the smell for months. I came in for my arranged IOU, drove an hour, to get my key less entry remote replaced and fix a bumpy ride (the car shakes when you get up to 60), it was supposed to be brand new remote but all they did was reprogram my old one and it still didnt work. I called to tell them it didnt work and they told me I was doing it wrong! How can I press a button wrong! They also decided to charge me for an IOU! I left with nothing accomplished and a really large bill if I wanted things fixed! I called and had complained about not being happy with the purchase and everything I had been dealing with and was told they would get back to me but they never did. It has been an ongoing pain in the you know what! Super frustrated with this purchase.

Purchased an 02 vw Passat with 126k miles for $5200+tax. Needed it to last 5 years as a good car for going to high country. Salesman said it was a great car and with regular maintenance this vehicle would definitely last. Not even a year later (10 months/10k miles) the engine is having one catastrophic failure after another. These people are hacks. I called to address the issue and they offered to do any work the car needed but it will cost me parts and labor. These are the worst kinds of people. Expect any car from this place to break down and break your wallet. Just got the Passat appraised for only $500. I absolutely hate these SCAMMERS!!!!! Buying this car has ruined my life. No exaggeration I am financially ruined with no prospect of improving my situation.Update 10/26/15 your dealership is trash and so is your inventory. Liars and thieves.

Feb 1, 2016 UPDATE: My Outback alternator was failing and I just barely limped into the shop, and do you know what CJay and his boys did? They installed another on the spot, charged my battery and got me on my way in time to make it home before a blizzard really set in, I wouldve been stuck without them. I am still floored that this shop rewards loyalty so richly when it seems to mean little to so many other businesses these days. I cant say enough good things about Cutting Edge, if there were a sixth star, I would add it!---------------------------We bought our Outback from CJay nearly 3 years ago & I wrote a glowing review then, but apparently reviews expire, so allow me to update. Weve lived in the region 20+ years, mostly in the mtns. Weve tried all the local Subaru specialists, & none can hold a candle to these guys. When we were buying ours, I had driven a dozen Outbacks & knew exactly what I wanted. CJay listened & found literally everything I asked for, plus more: its a limited with decent mileage, manual transmission, high-end stereo, & now that weve driven it 60K miles, I know its a gem!Cjay & his guys have also done major work on both our Subarus in the last year, & I have zero complaints. They are my Subaru mechanics from now on. It may be sad for the ONE reviewer with a bad experience, & it doesnt surprise me that CJay fixed numerous issues for free close after purchase because thats the kind of person we know CJay to be. But its even more shameful that someone would take advantage of that & still grill him here. In short, I wouldnt hesitate to send anyone I know to Cutting Edge, period.

Id say you can really trust these folks. Ive dealt with them twice, and theyve been honest and fair.
