Terrible experience. As a Gold Plus and Presidential Circle member means nothing whatsoever as I had reserved a car weeks ago and I am told on the day I was to pick up the car they had none and never called me back to let me know later in the afternoon if any came in or not. I called back multiple times but no answer. Great way to start out a vacation ! So much for loyalty to a company. This has never happened to me before and I rent from Hertz almost every week for business.
I saw a lot of these reviews and was hesitant to go here and exchange the defective Hertz car that I got at the airport. However it was either five minutes to this location or an hour back to the airport so I decided to give it a shot.In short Hertz has a problem with a lot of poorly maintained cars and it took me three tries but I finally got a decent car with the features I needed.The reason, A manager by the name of Sebastian. Who just took over this location a week ago. He worked with me and we looked at different cars to meet my needs he made sure it was clean.I know Hertz has had a hard time getting back on the horse after bankruptcy but they need more people like Sebastian to get them there.The only reason I did not give it five stars was the condition of the cars that we looked at.Thank you Sebastian!
Friendly staff. Smooth check in. The agency is hidden inside the Marriott. The car was dirty outside and inside. I found hair and other thing you wouldnt expect to find in a Hertz car. Probably the least clean Hertz car Ive ever rented, and I am a very frequent Hertz renter.Kept on receiving an error a out the front sensor being blocked. Annoying.I tried cleaning the front bumper myself but gave up after seeing all the dried bug guts. Gross.
I wish I could give zero stars. If you don’t have the vehicle for someone, don’t wait until that person is picking up the vehicle to tell them. Or better yet, don’t book the reservation to begin with. Hertz is grossly incompetent and don’t deserve your business whatsoever. Please read Through the reviews before you even open their site because they are absolutely not worth your time. We had driven almost an hour to pick up our much needed rental and three minutes before pickup, they called us to tell us they didn’t have any. Do better.
Not a great experience… first know that this hertz locations is buried inside a hotel with 0 signage inside our outside to help you know that you are at the right place or where to go. When you do find the office, it is messy and cluttered and doesn’t not have a professional appearance. They young man that fretted me seemed kind. When he informed me that they didn’t have the size of car I reserved, I understood, then he told me that I’d have to step down a class/size. I wondered how much cheaper that would be, and he said it wasn’t. And that it would still be the same price. I laughed a little, it took me about 5 minutes to convince him that his logic was flawed and we recalculated to a lower rate. Then when he escorted me to the smaller car I mentioned that it wasn’t clean, as there were hundreds of bigs stuck to the front, headlights and side mirrors. He assure me it was cleaned, but the bugs were “hard” to get off. Imagine that… cleaning cars is hard work. By this time I was late and needed to go. Off I went in a smaller filthy car than I reserved. Also the gas was at 1/4 tank… so I had to stop at the gas station also. I’d recommend hertz look into who is running this location as it isn’t being managed well.
I had a reservation and confirmation and then paid for an uber to go pick up the car. They said they were sorry but didnt have any cars available despite my confirmation. I walked out the side where they keep their cars and there a ton just sitting there.This isnt the first bad experience I have had with Hertz unfortunately, but sometimes its whats available...or in this case falsely so. I would give them a negative if I could.Of course I do admit that it could be location based as well.....but last time I had to try to call their emergency roadside assistance which had me on hold for 35 minutes, only to have the lady hang up on me because she couldnt understand meEither way there has yet to be any redemption from Hertz.
Since zero stars isnt available, I guess one star it is....even though negative stars is more appropriate. To clarify this isnt fault of the poor kids sitting in the repurposed janitor closet of a rental office, this is 100% on the shoulders of Hertz as a company. Abysmal customer service, inventory, accountability, follow up, you name it theyre terrible at it. I feel bad for the poor folks sitting at the desks because theyre caught in a constant onslaught of p***ed off customers and theres nobody above them to help. Theres not even a dang landline phone in the office, all of them have to use their cell phones to do business.. laughable. At this point it would be easier to steal a car, run your errands, get caught, thrown in jail, post bail and go on about your life than rent a car from them.
As others have stated they did not have enough cars. The reservation was made weeks in advance. They called 10 minutes before the reservation time on a Friday at 3:50, didn’t provide any alternatives and it was too late to find a rental elsewhere. I’d highly advise you look elsewhere if you actually need a rental car.
Valerie Metzger was an absolute dream to work with. She made the entire renting process smooth and streamlined. She made sure to disinfect the car well per their COVID policy and made sure we had the best experience possible. I would highly recommend them as the best rental in Fort Collins. One caveat is it’s located inside the Marriott which can be quite confusing to locate. But once you find it, you’re in good hands!
Im confused why the reviews are so horrible. I had the absolute best service both upon pick-up and return at this location (Fort Collins). I wish I could remember his name, but the man who helped me pickup my vehicle was amazing (use to work for 107.9 the bear). I was in an accident and had to bring my car to the repair shop. I work very inflexible hours, which made picking-up of the rental car work with the time of the repair shop very difficult. This Hertz fellow worked with me to pick me up from my repair shop on my lunch break (with less than 20 minutes notice to him) and got me checked out as fast as possible. He was extremely accommodating. Dropping off was equally hard with timing, but the woman at hertz desk Fort Collins just let me know that I could return anytime before midnight and I could just leave the keys with the front desk of the Marriot hotel. This experience has made working through this accident process so so SO much less stressful. The people at the Fort Collins location are amazing. Im AAAColorado insured so they paid for my rental (only until learning my car is totaled), so I cant speak to that aspect.I will say Hertz customer service overall absolutely sucks if you call their general number. I just kept trying until I reached the Fort Collins actual location and was helped right away.
Like the many others I wish I couldn’t leave a star. They should just shut this location down if they continue to not be able to have cars for people that reserved them. We were told we would get a call in a few hours for an update on cars, but they never called. Apparently they called us from a random number from a different state to let us know they didn’t have a car, but we ignored it because we thought it was spam. Of course they didn’t leave a voicemail. The call was made hours before our reservation. They ruined our vacation plans and didn’t even care if they did it. Do not rent from Hertz!!!
I rented and prepaid for a car from @Hertz today, upon arrival to pick it up I was told no vehicles were available, none. I left and two young ladies entered and rented a car, when I asked the manager about it he said they paid over $900 so it was a better deal for @Hertz to rent to them and not me.Then the manager said he could get me in a Yukon for the trouble, ok great but he wanted to charge me $2,000 extra for it. So he lied on multiple occasions and then told me straight out he wouldnt honour my reservation because he could make more $ from other customers.
Never again will I use Hertz. This psuedo rental location (just a desk in the hotel) obviously has no clue what customer service is. A one-person operation with cars who knows where and poor planning around a storm. Not the first time that Hertz has let me down with a reservation, but it will be the last. Plenty of other places to rent a car from, use one of them

I would give zero stars if that was am option. The so called manager was no help while my daughter was broken down on the highway for 3 hours. She was told theres nothing they could do without a work order from roadside assistance. The problem was roadside assistance never answered the phone.

Horrible company. I forgot fill up tank. Which o understand is my fault. But they charged me 112 dollars to fill up tank and also took 50 dollars has a deposit. This is a horrible company and I only had to use them because the insurance company provided it. Enterprise at least lets you prepay the gas and its a reasonable rate. Also the place is way understaffed and I wasnt offered to prepay the gas. Im so angry.

Understaffed to the point I felt bad for the guy running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Not as bad as I felt for myself after my experience. Originally I was patient and willing to wait as long as I get my car. Before I go any further I must say that I am well aware rental companies prefer credit cards. However I have been to many countries and I have done business with many rental car companies including Hertz and there is always a work around. At the end of the day money is money and they can take a debit card. Usually they will agree to take a debit card if you purchase one of their insurance coverages or if you leave a larger than normal deposit. Both of which I am fine with, however first I was told it wasn’t possible, and when I asked what the work around is I was told “making a reservation at least 24 hours in advance”. Huh? Making a reservation only ensures there is a car available for you when you get there. It has literally nothing to do with the finances involved unless they have to give you a more expensive vehicle at the same reserved price to hold up their end of the deal. Literally zero affect on whether they can swipe a debit card or not. In the end I waited patiently for this man I felt bad for only to have my time wasted.
Dan was a very agreeable fellow to work with. Great service and rate for my vehicle. Reserved a van to take the family up to Rocky Mountain National Park for the day and the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica was very comfortable and clean.No complaints with the service I received, but staffing of one at the time seems unfair to the lone guy manning the desk. I would definitely do business with this location again, but would block out 30 to 40 minutes for the transaction due to light staffing.
I reserved a car and prepaid. I called to cancel the next day ( 26 hours) because I booked in the wrong city. I was charged a $100 cancellation fee. So incredibly ridiculous. My reservation was in September.
TERRIBLE SERVICE. Do not rent from here. Of all of the rental experiences I have ever had this has been by far the worst.
Extremely fast and courteous, I called them one morning after Enterprise backed out on a reservation and Hertz had a car out front ready for me within 10 minutes. One thing I liked is though they were more expensive with insurance and roadside assistance (which doubles your rental expense), the Sirius radio and a few other premium features are included for free unlike other rental companies like Enterprise that charge a daily rate for each little thing. They also take pics of the whole car before they give it to you so you aren’t standing out in the cold inspecting the car before getting which I have done before at other companies. The service was excellent and dependable even at literally the last minute. When I need another rental car I will gladly go with them again!
This location is really great! I have rented from the twice now and each time has been fabulous! The staff are friendly and helpful! Both cars I have gotten have been the newest model or very close to. Cars are always inspected and very clean! I would highly recommend this location.
I didnt get have a good experience with Hertz south college Ave. First, the car which we got had some brakes issue which we started on the first day of rental. We had to get the vehicle exchanged at Denver international airport as other locations were closed at that time. Thus wasted around 3 4 hrs of our trip. The customer representative at DIA was very rude not only to us but to all other passengers. He started arguing with other co representative and manager had to pitch in to resolve the issue.The other vehicle which I got was good and customer support over phone was good as he guided us and listened to our problem and quickly generated the case number.In fort Collins, south college Enterprise is the best place for rental if you are looking for hassle free experience and good cars.
Fantastic staff! I was picked up from the repair shop as a courtesy. Kyle was extremely helpful and put me in a Nissan Versa which was perfect for my commute to work. I will not hesitate to use this particular location again!

Horrible service. Go to Enterprise in Fort Collins if you want to have a good customer experience. This hertz stole my money for several weeks because of an employee mistake. Then denied my claim because of another employees error. For those counting, thats two employee errors which hertz justified taking my money and keeping it for months. I eventually got it back, but I will not ever use hertz in any location ever again. Great job guys!
Why make an appointment, call ahead to verify pick up time for the employee to disappear in the back for a full hour, no joke 1 hr. Will never use this business again. Poor service, long wait, and extremely unprofessional.

Chris did an outstanding job with my rental car and contacting the insurance company to bill them.
It took a week but I was refunded after a worrisome extra charge of $200. I guess that was a standard procedure. Other than that, they were timely and efficient which I appreciate!
I just called today and the person on the phone was awful. I made a reservation online for renting a Chevy Suburban for one month and it said it would be $2,373.99. But then I got a confirmation email saying the price was $23,739.86. I know they made a decimal error because I never would have made the reservation if I saw it would be that much. I called to ask for help and the person on the phone was not helpful at all. He said that was the actual cost for renting a Chevy Suburban for a month. That makes no sense because I could buy a used Chevy Suburban for that much! I ended up going with Budget instead because they let me rent a Chevy Suburban for $4,600, which is double what I originally planned on paying - but at least it wasnt 10X the price which is what the person on the phone said it would be! I will never use Hertz again.

Was taken care of here after somebody hit my car and I had to get a rental while it was being repaired. GET THE INSURANCE/PROTECTION PLAN. The reason I docked a star was because I wasn’t impressed with the selection of vehicles that you could choose from.
Get ready to wait. When you are done waiting get ready to wait some more, then continue waiting. Once you get a car, wait some more.This place is massively understaffed. Do not expect them to have anything ready when you arrive.
