AWD tuning was a very enjoyable experience for me. Im a gearhead and into cars. Keith did tuning on my G37 and he did an outstanding job. Car run so much better. The sheer volume of neat cars alone was worth the visit. Cant say enough about the work done. And who doesnt like seeing their car doing full pulls on dyno?? My face hurt from grinning so much.

This is a great company. Very friendly and helpful people. They have answered questions for me (in person and email), I had my heads serviced here, and they have provided me with a couple head plugs I could not find. Solid tune thats been holding for years and I still use it on a new engine rebuild. Tensioner failed, not a tune issue at all. I think their pricing is competitive and fair giving the work and specialization. Great company. Its tough dealing with customers, especially ones that have had a car break down. These guys handle is all so well. I always take the time to give them props when I speak to other automotive people. Nice shop, nice area.

These folks are down right focused on customer service. I was introduced to them by my favorite auto parts store (OReillys on Justin Road in Flower Mound/Highland Village). Because I have a Subaru AWD, it made sense to get them to troubleshoot something I have been struggling with over a week.....within 10 minutes, they diagnosed and explained all that was happening with the vehicle. They are Incredibly knowledgable and equally courteous. I will certainly use them again in the future should the need arise and I definitely recommend them, especially if you have a Subaru....they are well versed in this arena.

Keith and Mary were awesome to work with and they definitely stand behind their work. I had my engine built over a year ago and recently ran into a issue while traveling up north due to elevation and cold weather and Keith stopped what he was doing when I called down there from Utah to help me. He remotely sent me a modified tune and walked me through how to resolve my issues. That is text book customer service and them standing behind their work that was long since closed out and paid for.I literally cant say thanks enough for that and you definitely wont regret doing business with AWD Tuning.

Great Tuner and a great shop, took them my 04 wrx to have a turbo, bcs, fuel pump, injectors and a tune done and i will say they did great work and cleaned out some odds and ends in the engine bay. Ran into some bumps but you always to with older cars and they handled the situation great. Im happy with the build and would recommend them!!!

Careful with this place.. I had a AOS, and exhaust installed incorrectly. They didnt even connect the exhaust to the hanger bushings. Had to find out when someone asked why it looked so low.

Amazing Staff!! I called to get information about a tune. Being new to the performance game, I just gave my impression of what I use my car for and wasnt sure if a tune was needed right away. Kirby gave me a lot of great and what I felt to be honest information. If and when I get work done on my WRX, it will definitely be here!

I thought this would be a great place to take my STI Hatch, I drove an hour to get there. Reviews seemed great. But these guys could care less if I took my car there or not. Left my dipstick on my radiator and charged me 110 bucks for basically nothing. I’m sure they know what they are doing but if your not part of a car club or a friend of theirs. I wouldn’t even bother with this place.

I went in for an evaluation and the guy helping me didnt seem to really care much that I was their. Its kind of down an alley way and has a sketchy feel but some of the people look like they genuinely care and are passionate with what they do. You can get a great machine out of these people.

They did what they said they would do in the time they said they would do it. To me that says everything. If Collin, Mary, or Keith said they would do something they did it. They were honest insightful and gave me a realistic idea on the power I could expect. Just got the car back today... The did a stage two engine build. Everything is good so far!

Ive been using AWDTuning since 2013 to get my 370Zs track ready (oil cooler, brakes, tune, etc), and they have earned my full trust. Keith and his guys are capable and always completely professional. While I havent required engine builds or complex service, Ive seen Keith and Marys attention to detail and his commitment to spend the time to get things right (especially in doing my tune). I just wish they had more parking.

Great shop. Went there a while back to get a tune and Keith is awesome. He is easy to talk to and pays attention to detail. It took a a few hours to get the tune done but I know it’s because he was taking his time to get everything right. Great shop and I highly recommend. Car runs strong and has had no issues. I moved a few states away and I called them recently to see if they had a certain part in stock. They did and I received it at my doorstep in 2 days. I have been to several shops around Texas and this is by far the best shop and crew Ive worked with. They have a full machine shop in house, where they machine, sleeve and build their own engines (they are also Darton certified). Their engine builder does an excellent job and is always happy to answer questions as he has passion for the racing industry. The owner and tuner does excellent work and he can also support certain tuning needs over email (break-in maps, tune adjustments, etc). There are other shops much closer to where I am, but there is a reason why I will drive 4.5 hours to AWDTuning - great people and excellent quality of work!

I have been an AWD customer for a long time and I can honestly say that I love these guys. My build is approaching 3 years and 30k miles of daily driving and I still love driving it every day. Having been a customer of these guys since I bought my car in 2012, I keep coming back for more and more to this day. From helping me with the smallest thing like installing a turbo heatshield, to installing inlets, suspension components, or anything else you can imagine. These guys are top notch with all the work they do and the way they handle their customers. Mary will take time out of her day and explain to you everything you need to know and beyond that. She will do anything to make you feel welcome and I can wholeheartedly recommend these guys to anyone for any type of work they need done to their Subaru. Keith will also take care if your car and make sure it is tuned safely and always, always gives you a notice if something is off and doesnt feel right, which is an amazing thing in the long run, mainly because its your vehicle. AWDtunning has great customer service and quality of work! Ive had three different tunes with this last one actually being a whole lot more extensive. From the moment I contacted them in a time of need till today when I picked up my baby, they have done everything in their power to help, reassure, and educate when need-be. This is hands down my go to shop. I originally went to another shop when I first got my sti (used to be Cobb) and the service was so bad I just walked out. Brought the car to AWDTuning and Kirby took the time to go over my goals and write up a build ticket not to mention answer numerous questions through email. When my rack and pinion went out I had it towed here and they not only fixed it but also installed all my build parts and tuned the car within 5 days. ($6500 build) Keith and Mary are awesome and some of the nicest people. Keith stayed well past closing tuning the car on the final day and even sent over a few tweaked maps a few months later to deal with a failing ethanol sensor.Seriously wouldnt take my sti anywhere else.

This shop has done quality maintenance work on my car, with greater apparent care and at lower prices than dealerships. They can install factory or aftermarket performance parts, and they definitely know Subarus well.

Ive been working with AWDtuning since I got my 2013 FRS on release. They have been a great group that walked me through the process of what I needed to not only make power, but to make reliable power and keep my own expectations realistic. I would recommend them to anyone and I still am a loyal customer! I even take my non modded cars to their shop for routine maintenance and oil changes! They do it all!

Brought my car in with a grinding noise, they diagnosed the problem and i picked it up when it was done, every pull down the road still making the same noise.... how could they rightfully give back a customers car saying it is fixed when i am now $320 down the drain and trying to find another shop to bring my business too. Very unpleased with my service here, all i want now is a re-diagnosis of my cars problem so i can take my business elsewhere. Not to mention they said it would be a 1hr job and simple fix as they would pull it in first thing in the morning and for sure have it done by noon. As noon rolled around i called and they told me one hour, all said and done my car was leaving their shop at 3PM with no excuse of why it took all day for an hour job 🤔

Scheduled an oil change with Mary on Thursday for Saturday at 1:30. Got there at 1:20 and no one was in the office. 3 different people cycled in and out of the office multiple times and not one person asked if I needed help, etc. So after 20 minutes of waiting and petting their dog, I asked if the owners were here as I guess they are the only ones that can do any administrative assistance and they said they were out and wouldnt be back for 30 minutes. The guys still didnt ask if I needed anything or had an appointment. So I left as I didnt want to wait longer and what could be a couple hours for just an oil change. Will be going to Cobb from now on for any car related installs, maintenance, tuning, etc.

I shall start off by saying that I would strongly recommend this shop to anyone looking to have their performance (or any) vehicle worked on, whether it be service, modification, or tuning.I recently drove down from central Arkansas with my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT to AWDTuning. I was having a larger turbo and supporting mods installed, as well as the car tuned. During the process, a number of hurdles were encountered (issues with my car, not the shop). They went above and beyond, working WELL into the night to make sure that the car was finished, and finished correctly. The staff is friendly and honest, and makes the safety of your car/engine a priority. They will help you set realistic goals and a path to get you there. I will definitely be taking my vehicle back for the next round of modifications.

I looked for a shop to tune my 2018 WRX STI for a while and was directed to Kozmic. I bought my AP from them and had an odd experience from a customer service standpoint but everyone vouched for them so I reached out for a quote to have some parts installed and a pro tune. At the suggestion of a good friend I also hit up The Shop Houston for a quote. Not only did The Shop Houston get back to me in a timely manner, but they made me feel like family. I spoke at great length with both Kaina and Vaughn about the path I wanted to take with my car and they were very upfront and honest with me. They told me what their biggest suggestions were and even told me some of my plan was unnecessary for my end goals. The fact they talked me out of spending money I was going to spend because it wasnt necessary shows just how customer focused they are. They showed me around their shop and told me about each car they were currently working on and I met some of the other customers as well. As far as the tuning is concerned, Keith from AWDtuning in Dallas entrusts the shop to partner with his shop for Subaru tuning. That says everything I need to know right there. Keith dialed in my tune and was very thorough to the point he had me test drive the car and give my input and he tweaked it because he thought he could make it a little more precise. While waiting on some final adjustments there were other customers there that shared their experiences and projects with The Shop Houston with me. After everything was done, Vaughn made sure to see me off and invite me to come by any time to hang out and reminded me that I was a part of their family now. When I told him I would see him again in a few weeks when I have more parts to add and to refine the tune he told me, “Man, come by before then and just hang out with us, I mean that.” The Shop Houston exceeded my expectations and earned my business from Kozmic which I was actually only a few days away from pursuing. Any shop can install parts and have a quality tuner. However, this type of business isnt just about what you can do under a hood. The Shop Houston beats out the competition under the hood and face to face in customer service. 10/10 and I will definitely be back once I have my next set of mods to install as well as any time I just want to be around a great set of gearheads and talk shop. Cant say enough good things about AWD! I traveled all the way from Kansas City, Missouri with my STi to get some parts installed and a full tune. I dropped my car off on Friday and it was done as planned on Sunday! The install on all of my parts was flawless and my tune from Keith was smooth as silk! He set me up a 91 tune and a couple diff options for E85 and each one pulled smooth all the way to redline. They planned on the car being done Saturday night but with typical Texas tornado weather they werent able to make that happen. So they let me hang with them at the shop while they worked on my car (late into the night), took me to grab some food then since it ran into the late hours they let me borrow one of their extra cars to go to my hotel for an extra night so they could wrap my car up on Sunday (even though they are closed). All in all everyone there was on point from the time I set foot in the door until the time I left! Pricing and customer service was right where it needed to be! Nothing but good things! Thanks guys.

Had a motor built, received it with loose bolts, double their time estimate and double their estimated cost. Had 2 misdiagnoses before they found the issue (told me no issue and spun rod before telling me 2 days later they had blocks/owners confused and mine was a loose bore. did not break down entire block prior to quoting me upgrades, resulting in mandatory parts. Charged for the same part twice. Had to call from a different number to get an answer twice.Poor record keeping, a tech (not Frankie) that did not check his work (on a $6700 motor), and poor customer service, even after admitting they messed up.

Fair pricing, great atmosphere and very professional, this is how a real tuning shop should be.

I was doing a full service and suspension build in 2010 with coilovers, brakes, wheels, tires, etc. I had a 2004 Subaru STi and I also wanted to get the hubs swapped from 5x100 to 5x114 to get a better wheel selection. This required switching out a sundial gear and changing out the axles because of the splines. After reading glowing reviews about AWDTuning, I chose them. I asked the owner during our emails if they knew how to do this and I was assured that they knew what they were doing. Ill give Keith the benefit of the doubt and assume that he really did know how do to it. However, when you take your car to AWDTuning, you may not have Keith or an experienced Subaru mechanic working on your car.I had all of my parts shipped to them right before I returned from deployment and they had advance notice for when I was bringing my car in, so they should have made sure someone experienced was available for my car. When I brought my car in, their shop was absolutely packed with Subarus and Mitsubishis and they were filling the lots outside. At the time I thought it was really cool that they had a couple of rally cars that they were prepping for Pikes Peak, but those cars would turn out to be my downfall. After my car was completed, my excitement for the build died within the first week as I was left stranded by the work done by AWDTuning. My radiator hose had a hole rubbed in it because whoever installed it left it rubbing against the fan-belt pulleys. Luckily I had a friend that drove me on a 2 hour round-trip to Austin, which was the only place that had a hose for my car in stock on such short notice. Once the hose was replaced, I took my car to another mechanic friends house (known on the iwsti forums as scby_rex) and thats where things got really interesting.Upon closer inspection, there were countless issues with the work that was done on the car. There were bolts across the engine that were loose and pieces like the reservoirs werent even attached. They were just hanging free. The coilovers were also installed incorrectly. There was even a trailing arm bolt that was finger tight! If that bolt had come off, I couldve been in a serious accident! If that wasnt enough, my differentials began fighting themselves at low speeds because they installed the hub swap incorrectly. Keith offered to fix the car if I brought it up them again, so I did. I made the round-trip from Fort Hood to Plano, TX to give them one more chance and I was having the same differential problems within a week of them working on it. I had to take my car to another shop just to undo the work done by AWDTuning.I cant prove it, but I suspect that an employee from the Mitsubishi shop worked on my car instead of a Subaru mechanic because they were massively overloaded and trying to push those two rally cars previously mentioned out the door in time for Pikes Peak. Regardless of who worked on my car, the negligence that they exhibited in their work was beyond unacceptable and outright dangerous. I paid them over $2000 for the supposed quality of their work and what I got for it was far worse than if Id just done it myself.If you choose AWDTuning, youre rolling the dice on your car. You might get Keith and have an exceptional experience. Then again, you might have a Mitsubishi mechanic, the secretary, or whoever happens to be standing around at the time working on your car. If thats the case, be prepared to receive a car that was thrown together as quickly as possible with absolutely no professionalism or consideration. They wont verify their work and theyll let you drive a dangerous car away like they did in my case.Since you dont know what youre getting with AWDTuning, I would recommend anyone planning a tune to stay far away from this business.

I brought my 02 WRX in for an engine swap and tune at the end of January. The car was still driveable, and was my daily, but definitely needed a swap. It is now nearing the end of June, and I am only now finishing the fixes needed from taking my car to this shop.At the end of March, two months after dropping my car off, I finally got my car back, on just a basemap. The entire month of February that my car was there, it was untouched. Never once did the shop contact me, and each time I contacted them I was told that it should be in the next week. When I would contact them and get the vague next week/soon/a day or two response, Id ask them to go ahead and give me a call once it did get into the shop. It wasnt until I finally drove 40min up to the shop that I found out my car had been in the bay for two days - and I had simply never been notified. A month after that, I finally got my car back, though in the process of my car being there for two months, a couple parts that I had in the back got lost.I now take my car to another shop that I found out can competently work on Subarus, which has been a breath of fresh air in comparison, though Ive had to take it there quite a bit to fix a host of issues that were either caused by AWD Tuning (such as a bolt on my engine mount simply falling out because it was never tightened), or simply were not fixed as they were supposed to be. They left my car on a basemap, but Im honestly not sure if its any different from when it was running the previous owners tune with the EJ205 vs the EJ207 they installed. After another month or two of waiting to get my car dyno tuned, I simply canceled it, and the car is now getting tuned elsewhere just a couple weeks after setting up a tune date.All throughout, my experience at this shop has been the single worst auto service experience I or anyone I know of has experienced. The pricing is not competitive, the customer service is severely lacking, and the quality of work has definitely been sub-par. I honestly would not even want or trust an oil change done at this shop.

From day one, AWDTuning has been the best shop Ive gone to, hands down. The first time I had work done at the shop, I initially came in just to run my car (2016 WRX) on the dyno to get an idea of where I was from a previous e-tune. After seeing some of the issues that occurred on the dyno, I decided the same day to take the plunge and get a full tune in-person, and I can definitively say it was one of the best choices Ive made regarding my car. The team at AWDTuning was very helpful and responsive from the start, setting appropriate expectations, along with answering every question I had (and I have a tendency to get fairly technical). I scheduled the tune about a week out, and I can say that while its not a quick in and out process (Im pretty sure no good tune is), it was the best experience Ive had at any shop, largely in part due to the more relaxed atmosphere; it felt less like your typical white-walled florescent lit sit here and read a magazine style shop, and more like I was with a group of friends. I also had a (very minor) issue afterwards, which was sorted out almost immediately by Keith (tuner) with no drama involved.Eventually I ended up purchasing several parts later on, and I can say their pricing on parts and labor is on-par or better than other shops, even matching (or beating) online pricing. Given the consistently awesome experience Ive had with them, and the fact that they go the extra mile, Im pretty much sold on their shop, and I can say without a doubt Ill be going back from now on.If youre looking for a good shop and youre not quite sure where to go, definitely give them a try -- you wont regret it.

Let me start by saying that I have read reviews from around the net on AWD Tuning. Let me add that you can research ANY shop in the world and find people that are unhappy with them (some justifiably and some not). My dealings with AWD Tuning were not without some communication challenges, some surprises, and some set backs. When all was said and done however the end result was nothing short of amazing. My 2015 STI had only 8,000 original miles on it when I lost 75% compression in cylinder 4. I had been running a COBB stage 2 tune, with a down pipe and Cobbs 20g turbo. My engine always felt like it was on the hairy edge. After AWDs engine build and tuning, the engine feels strong all the way through the power band. I had them add alcohol injection and I am not even sure I needed it. My car is way faster, smother and stronger even before the injection kicks in. The tuning is amazing and the car runs perfectly in every gear, and every situation. My gas mileage has also gone up over 8mpg!!! I also had them install a new clutch, shifter, air oil separator, and tail lights. All jobs were done professionally. Having a vehicle worked on is a trying experience. It never gets done fast enough or cheap enough. The bottom line is that Keith and Mary are good people and they seem to honestly care about people as well as their cars. That is priceless these days.

We are sooo Fast and Furious after taking our WRX to AWDTuning!! Fast to sell the car after they repaired it and furious because we had no choice but to sell it. This is by far the worst business venture we have ever pursued. We paid $9,000 for a mediocre engine build. We dropped the car off in the summer, and didnt get it back until the winter. When we got the car back it had missing/loose screws, heat shields and brackets; an empty coolant reservoir and our car battery, which they said needed replaced, was just thrown in the compartment. They misdiagnosed a wiring issue and in the long run the wiring issue magically disappeared (which ended up supposedly being the battery instead). The price also had gone up 18% and without notice for necessary repairs. Mary (one of the principal owners) said she was handles the authorization calls to customers and she failed to call us to authorize the repairs because she was dealing with personal family matters. Our motor heads were sitting in a queue AT ANOTHER SHOP (even though they tell you they have a machine shop in house) for two weeks so there was no intention for them to call us. They are apologetic over the phone and admit fault, but all is forgotten in person. They are not very personable and VERY unorganized. Their files are just in stacks on the floors/desks and it took them 20 minutes to locate our paperwork we asked for a copy of. Our build was mistaken for another customers and they never had their stories straight. We thought it was all over but after about 3 months, the car started leaking oil. We still had warranty so brought it back up there and apparently it was the power steering system that was leaking which they said they do not even touch during an engine overhaul. The power steering reservoir was always full, but the motor had to be either bleeding or burning oil. We had to put motor oil in every 3 weeks to keep it filled. At least while it was there, we had them put the shields and brackets back on and they threw in a battery tie free of charge. I had other shops tell us that the motor was leaking oil, but AWD stated otherwise. The short block they built did look solid with no leaks, but the work on the refreshed heads is questionable. According to Mary, they have gone through 3 to 4 different shops for head work and it makes us wonder why? As stated above, they advertise an in-house machine shop, but if head work is needed, it cannot be done there. They are quick to reach in your pockets to get more money, but they take no ownership in there workmanship, nor do they care about their AWDTuning brand. I am sure they are capable of building a 10 second car, but it will probably take them half a year to build it with plenty of misdiagnoses along the way. We cut our losses and sold the car in fear it would fail. The limited liability form they ask you to sign protects them from any wrong doing whether they are at fault or not so if you do business with them, I highly recommend you have them WRITE OUT the terms you decide on or take your business elsewhere. They over-promise and under-deliver. You have been warned.

Keith at awdtuning is the easily the best Subaru tuner in TX.

I recently bought a Subaru Impreza WRX and had problems with it.I can make it short and to the point.Keith,will,Mary, and the rest of the team are the best. they will treat you like family. when I have a problem Mary makes time for me and tell me to just bring on up there and we will take a look at it. if youre looking for a tune,a simple oil change,or have a problem with your Subaru awd tuning is the place for your Subaru.

AWDTuning treated me like family, and not just a paycheck (like another tuner in plano). I have traveled to AWD 3 times in the past year, just to visit (its over 3.5 hours away). All the workers are professional and friendly. I have seen many of their builds and have met the owners of said vehicles (who have turned out to be nice as well). If you are are taking your car to another facility, I hope your mother does not know about the bad choices you obviously make. Save yourself trouble, money, and heartache. Go with AWD, you will not be sorry.

These people know a lot about subarus! I had a Turbo fail in El Paso and they helped me by referring me to people who could fix it, shipping me parts directly, and by giving me ways that I could prevent Turbo failures in the future.
