Today we had a schedule tow pick up for my daughters vehicle. We were notified that Smittys would be there within a 90min window. Then after an hour we were notified by the tow truck guy that he would be there in just a minute, an hour later still NO tow truck!!!!!!!! We contacted Smittys dispatch and the dispatcher tried to contact the tow truck personnel to find out what was going on. The schedule tow truck was unresponsive to dispatch, and would not answer or return our direct calls either. After several attempts, dispatch notified us that they would not service our request. I am extremely LIVID at the lack of professionalism they presented to my daughter today. Left us sitting there for over 2 hours. We will NOT be using them again, and we have also notified the warranty service and dealership that was on this request. And they also will NOT be using them. Absolutely horrible to conduct business this way and extremely poor customer service!!!

I called because it was the closest Tow shop to where I got my flat tire. When I bought my car it didn’t come with any tools to change a flat. Except for the spare I called him and told him that I didn’t have any tools and I just needed my spare took it off and put on. He told me he would be here in 20 minutes took him 45. And when he got here he just told me that he couldn’t do it because I didn’t have the tools. And he was really rude about it and I’m already really upset. He made a point out of telling me that he’s a good person. I’m pretty sure if you’re a good person you don’t have to tell people that...,Edit: I just called another tow place A-One Towing of Flint!! They laughed when I told them the guy did not have the tools. And commented how dumb that was. Also $10 cheaper!!! 🖕🖕🖕🖕Kevin!!

Kevin is great! He was quick to arrive, knowledgeable and professional. I have used Smitty’s several times over the years and they are now my go to when I need a tow.

I called 3 other companies before them and was treated horrible and quoted outrageous rates. I then called on Smittys. From the person that answered the phone to the driver they were awesome. They towed my truck off the side of US 23 without me there. They were polite, punctual and extremely affordable. Thanks Guys!

THIS COMPANY PERFORMS INSURANCE FRAUD. ONE OF THE DRIVERS TRIED SCAMMING US AND OUR INSURANCE COMPANY BY LYING ABOUT THE MILEAGE. He then got extremely aggressive and wanted to leave one of us behind. He was dirty, unprofessional, yelling (with spit) and had no mask on!DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY FRAUDULENT!!

Front staff was very rude. Supposedly it was the manager and an older lady that I spoke too said the owner was out of town on vacation and that they couldn’t talk to him about what we been told. We were told that we weren’t being charged for certain things and then they charged us for what we weren’t supposed to be charged for. I can see why it’s a 3 out of 5 stars. Won’t ever recommend them to anybody. Go somewhere else. You will save your self money and a headache and won’t have to deal with rude people

Driver got there quicker than quoted! He got my van pulled out and me back on the road. I live out of town and it was late. Driver was friendly and professional. Truly appreciated his help!

Absolutely too expensive! they charge a hookup fee of about $80 and then they charge you $4 per mile and that can get rather pricey If you have to get your car or vehicle someplace farther away. Thats when you call a Flat Rate Towing service.

We were hoping the guy could help us change my moms flat on her truck. He was trying to use the key to get to the spare and told us it wouldnt turn and my mom grabbed the key and it worked right away. Naturally we were skeptical when he told us he couldnt get the tire down, but we had to trust him. He was not terribly courteous.

I find it very disturbing when the city of Burton has one toll facility that they use for all of their impounds. there are plenty of other tow companies that would be willing to share the work and the wealth. I didnt find Smittys helpful at all.

Locked keys in the car. They came out within 20 minutes & had my car unlocked before i could finish writing my address on the bill! Best rate too!

(Let me say as a impound lot where my car got towed against my will)..Did not answer the phone to tell me if they had my car. Says open 24hrs but if you want your vehicle you need til the boss decides to come to work. Maybe 8:30am (Maybe) later. Only accepts cash which nobody told me until my 2nd trip there. After I spoke on the phone to someone and in person to a driver, no mention of cash only until I was handing them my debit card.

We broke down just south of Flint. Called AAA and they sent Smittys out. While waiting I looked up reviews and gasped. I was in for horrible service! Needed a tow of 100 miles at 11pm on a Sunday night. No other options. The truck arrived right on time. The driver was quick, knowledgeable and seemed friendly. I was told by AAA upfront that they only accepted cash after hours and that if I did not have my card present I would need to pay the hook up fee and submit for reimbursement. The driver was very polite when verifying that AAA had correctly communicated their policy. We ended up spending over 2 hours in the cab driving with him. He was pleasant, nice to talk too and seemed like a nice person. Arriving at our destination, he quickly and efficiently let my car down into the spot perfectly, wrote up receipt for the exact amount I had been quoted and wished us a safe trip the rest of the way home.As to the pricing, $4.00 per mile for after hours service call seems to be well within the normal range. I was made aware that I must have my AAA card to avoid the hook up fee, not only by the agent but when I started using AAA.Overall I was extremely satisfied by the service received and would use them again at anytime. Our driver was John. I hope others arent put off by the previous reviews as I was originally and hence I made sure to put up this one ASAP.

The person who answered the phone was extremely rude.It was within an hour of their closing time, and while I do not like to hold people up, what they said was inexcusable. They blatantly lied just to get me off the phone. I dont recommend this place at all.

Great Company!! I called at 7:15 in the morning and they had a flat bed tow truck out to me in 10 minutes!! Charged exactly what they quoted me over the phone, the driver was polite, courteous and very quick! Thank you so much for the exceptional service.

Called them to jump my car at home. He said an hour. In less than 15 minutes later, Sandy was here. Went out of his way to get it jumped - not easy as the car was in a one-car garage facing forward.The fee was super reasonable. Ive got Smittys bookmarked as the car service to call the next time Im in a jam..EXCELLENT

My son and his girlfriend broke down in Burton off I-69. Burton police called in for tow home which is Port Huron, Michigan driver showed up took $70 dollars and than towed them into Flint to Super-8 hotel and said he was to tired to tow them home to call back next day and he would come and tow them for 260.00 plus the 70 they already gave him. They have AAA but didnt have card on them so had to pay cash. I feel that one if you are to tired to do your JOB then dont take the call, two that you took advantage of two young kids because you thought you were dealing with kids but there is where you are wrong because you are dealing with parents and now will be dealing with attorney. Would never recommend this company to anyone and am reporting them to AAA.

They charged me more then any other local towing company would, regardless of what they promise in the office. Their quotes are not to be trusted. The tow truck driver was very rude and childish. He dropped the vehicle where he wanted, not where I told him to put it. Ill never deal with them again and I recommend you dont either!

They got here quickly and charged a fair price to tow the vehicle in for repair.

I called them and ask how much it would be to tow my car, and gave them the destination and where the vehicle currently was located. I was quoted for $88.00, the driver gets there and says it going to be $160.00. They would not honor the price they originally they quoted me but doubled the price. I would not recommend anyone use this towing service.

Girlfriend just had to call for being locked out of her car. Was told over the phone that VISA would not be accepted until 9AM, acceptable as she had some cash.the truck arrived approximately 25 minutes later, no issue with time frame, and opened her car within a few minutes.The drivers tone of voice was rude. She had 3 twenties and 7 dollar bills, he refused to go 1 dollar under She ended up giving him 60 as he insisted he did not have any change. If you will not accept card, change is necessary, dont know if the driver pocketed the rest or if thats just how they operate.If given an option I will not deal with these people again.

My insurance company enlisted this company for roadside assistance. Driver arrived 5 minutes early for the scheduled tow service. When the driver arrived he asked me a few short questions about my car and asked if Id pop the hood. After a few minutes he found out the problem was different than what the mechanic thought it was and somehow mostly fixed my car.The kicker is this exact problem has cost me over 700 dollars because it has happened twice before. Now I will likely be saving money, getting the real problem fixed, and this driver lost himself money because instead of a tow he only charged my insurance company for a jumpstart (even though I told him I was fully covered).The definition of above and beyond.

Driver came out hooked my car up I was told I would be charged 60 dollars from dispatch guy towed my car.....seemed upset after I paid him...let my car down from flatbed I was asked.....do u have good brakes and was told to get in it and put on brakes while he was letting it down when I paid this person 60 dollars he seemed upset.......he then waited five minutes later knocked on my door and told me that I had only given hon fifty.......when I called to talk to a manager he was very rude telling me that there was nothing he could do.......I know this person ripped me off.......I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!!

Worst place in flint. Some of my personal belongings were missing and when my car went in i had almost a full tank then when i picked it up all my gas was gone this place is a joke never use this company i will be reporting a fileing for stolen property. F**k you smittys.
