We signed up for a month of swim lessons, our two toddlers. We paid the whole month, and they decided to not tell us upfront that they were cancelling the last two sessions for the month. The reason is because the “instructors” were off. If I would have known this I would have signed them up somewhere else. I went to guest services and she was not friendly or helpful.

Beautiful facility and lots of amenities for the price, just wish I knew more about them. Unfortunately I walked out just about as clueless as I was walking in. We are completely new to the YMCA and walked in to inquire about a membership and what all was included. One lady at the membership desk was kind enough to go over the numbers with us and even told us about a possible discount based on our income. Unfortunately that’s about all she offered in the way of information. She didn’t give her name, didn’t offer a tour or to go over any of the amenities and classes offered, even though she obviously had a binder with such information when asked about it. I had to ask for a list of classes/amenities included with our membership and when I asked if we could walk around to see the place she jokingly said “I mean unless you want to be accompanied...” and that just made me feel like she didn’t care or want to go. While it was apparent this person is new to their position, they don’t seem to have any clue what they are doing or how to offer good customer service at a facility like this. The other lady at the membership desk who was helping another family seemed very chipper and was making the experience very personal for them, she even remembered the one girl was going to be taking swimming lessons there. They had just returned from a tour of the facility and were signing up for their membership and the entire time she was engaging with them and smiling with the kids. This is the type of experience I was expected from this facility based on word of mouth. I really hope my experience over the next month is better than the sign up process or, unfortunately, I may cancel my membership faster than I signed up, that is if I manage to figure everything out on my own in the mean time. ☹️The people running the check-in desk were kind enough to ask us how our walk around the facility was and how we liked things. We are happy to see a Subway in the facility that will help make some meals easier after workouts. The pools are good sizes and look well kept. I’m especially excited about the spin room in the gym area of the building and plan to try that out soon. This is a facility I’ve heard very good things about and hope to continue to find the hospitality the individuals at the front check-in desk had to offer.

This place is amazing and truly takes care of my daughter with special needs! We love the pools and the staff! It is always so clean and everyone is so accommodating. We actually drive all the way from the southeast side to specifically go to this YMCA. It is well worth the trip.

Member services misrepresented availability of classes when I signed up for a membership; spinning classes are almost always fully booked as soon as booking becomes available; swim instructor berated me because I brought my 5-year-old into the kids pool not realizing the entire kids pool was closed for 3 kids to have a private swim lesson and lifeguard. Finding any information requires navigating the app.

I was really sad that the YMCA took Covid as an excuse to stop offering services. No more free yoga classes, but you can take all you want for only $40 more per month is not protecting anyone. No more guest passes or visiting other YMCAs out of town, though the competition still has it. No more towel service, though the competition still has it again. The only indoor pool for kids was open, but not when they have an adult class, and it had classes about 75% of the time so kids werent able to use it, but zero classes were scheduled in the barely used adults only lap pool last I saw. They kept the outdoor pool open far too long since it got cold out, and kept the indoor pool for kids closed until the weather forced them. They finally reopened the hot tub (again, their competition didnt close), but too little too late. The music in the locker rooms was Christian (a plus for me), but they blasted sleazy songs over the outdoor speakers that I hope my kids didnt hear.I like the organization and original mission, but all told they quit offering about 80% of why I was a member (without paying extra fees) and happily kept their prices the same. Sadly, for about $8 more per month, the competition has nicer facilities, with all you could want & much more to offer that the Y never had.Sorry YMCA, but youve lost your way. If they go back to serving their customers, I will probably never know, as my family much prefers our new gym with nicer facilities that are open for just a few dollars more.

Before the pandemic, I went here 5+ days a week to work out, and Ive been really happy with my results. While I have been working out at home 6+ days a week, I miss a lot of the options that a gym offers, and Im itching to go back. This place has fun and friendly staff, several of whom remembered my name very quickly, which Im always impressed with, as Im not great at doing that myself. My kids love the indoor and outdoor pool and the indoor play area. The childcare area is really neat. Just went back 8-2-20 for the first time since March to lift, and was pleased with the precautions they are taking. They give each person their own spray bottle with cleaner in it and a towel, and try to keep people spaced out, which is admittedly hard to do in a gym, but I thought they did a fair job of it. Im a very cautious person, and I wore my mask the whole time, but I felt very safe being able to clean everything off and not having to feel dumb doing so, since everyone is.In summary, if you have a family with kids, I think this is a great option as far as gyms to go to in the area (at least, when there isnt a pandemic going on).

The night staff at the Play & Learn center all deserves raises! THEY ARE THE BEST! I have a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter that I trust them to watch while I workout and you can tell that they truly enjoy my kids which greatly helps ease my mom guilt in dropping them off in the first place. We also use the drop off service from time to time to go on date nights. The Child Care staff just truly makes this place. The staff that is there from 5pm-8pm is THE BEST! Love them. My complains would have to be that the basketball courts are very rarely available to play on because there seems to be other classes going on in there (volleyball, karate, gymnastics, etc.). There really is not any space just to stretch before/after working out. I really enjoy the beginners yoga class but the issue with that is it ends at 8:15pm which is the exact time play & learn ends so I have to sneak out before the class is over. The kid’s pool is so great; my son absolutely loves that he can walk right in. I see reviews saying the Subway staff are rude…I have never experienced that. Overall, I love this place and so do my kiddos.

Family-friendly, all-in-one fitness place. Child Watch is huge, well-staffed, and kids love it. Subway sandwich shop inside makes it easy to grab a bite. Personal trainers are excellent. Class offerings abound for all ages, including summer camps and kids sports held at locations throughout Fishers. Our family has held membership here for 10+ years, and love it.

Love this place ... tons if classes and way to get a group workout in. My kids love all the gymnastic and swimming classes they have done. The child play area and babysitting are nice. Have had a few instances of my kids being bit or a diaper not being changed, but otherwise, great Y!

Wow - a prayer team was offering prayer when I was leaving. We prayed together for our mens group at church which is fasting from a bunch of things for 90 days (Exodus 90). Thank you so much! We really appreciate the prayer! Two years ago:Very welcoming to people new to fitness / gyms.Building is clean, up-to-date, and inviting.Handy wallet, phone, and keys free lockers in case you arrive already dressed to work out.Plus, theres a Subway shop, an indoor pool, an indoor hot tub, and more.

So, I joined this place and I really like it, I do. But there are no times that are reasonable to use the pool with kiddos. Swim lessons are going on the entire time from the time you get home from work to the kids bedtime, with open swim usually starting back up around 7:30- too late.

Let’s say this I just joined the Y recently and took the time out to visit 5 locations. This location is by far my favorite.I’m glad you asked - because not only did I feel they had the best equipment but everyone was so nice and overly helpful it just made me extremely nauseous...Just Kidding very happy that I took the time to visit before settling on one location.

The pool is great. I love the size and different pools that make this place so family friendly. However, they can often be busy and have programs going on, and, if this is the case, you either dont want to swim or cant. And, sometimes they have maintenance issues (i.e. chips of hard pool paint in pool floor that have cut people, chlorine problems, water overflow, etc).

Switched to a local fitness center thats further away from home than the YMCA. Its crowded, employees are rude, and it doesnt look clean. We pay $40 a month more at a new fitness center but I think its worth it. The Y needs an expansion and a major remodel if they want to keep their customers.
