Put In Danger. Their mechanics did not tighten calipers enough after changing brakes, and about 200 miles after it came loose on the freeway. It could have been life threatening, rather than just a 3 hr wait for a tow truck and another $300 to get it fixed. I will never go back here because you shouldnt have to check if they did their job correctly.

Guys charging over $450 to change headlights is ridiculous! Bought them and changed them myself from Autozone...total cost $58. They obviously knew I was a lil naive with cars and they took advantage. Customer care is friendly but this scamy behavior is bad for business!

DO NOT TRUST these mechanics. Went in for a check engine light because I was worried, ended up getting lied to about my suspension and steering column. After I committed to the work already I messaged my dad a couple days later and he quickly informed me I got screwed. Also dont trust their price quotes for the parts or labor THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN A DEALERSHIP MECHANIC. Please save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

I have an oil change every 4 to 6 months.I recently moved to Fed Way and needed to find a new place. I came across this shop and made an appt. My car seems to run better after having my oil changed here. Not sure what oil they used but I definitely feel a difference in my car. Im taking it back for a recommended fluid flush. My car is an 07 so Im sure it needs fresh fluid.

I was extremely unhappy with the work that was done on my car at Mechanics Northwest. Although I took my car back several times and an additional diagnostic test ..I was clearly lied to..even to the point the last time I took my car back due to my do to my turn signals working properly. I was told the owner was looking at my car which was a blatant lie ..I could see my car in the cameras while waiting in the waiting room ..I know who the owner is and the owner was not on the property. And there was no second diagnostic test done on my car. What a waste of $500. Come to find out they put the wrong part in my car.

Ive been taking my Toyota Corolla to Mechanic Northwest for the last 4 years, and I really like that they always explain with details the service that my car will receive. Also, when there is any big maintenance service that needs to be done, Arnulfo always tells if that big service has to be done immediately for the sake of my car, or if the service can wait for few more miles without damaging my car. Car broke down Christmas morning and we towed it to Mechanic Northwest. The next day I learn my car needs a new transmission, and before doing anything else they lay out several options including the different pricing, labor, etc... All in all they were so easy to work with, extremely patient and helpful, and even bought the car from me saving all sorts of hassle. I highly recommend this place!

A word I hate to use to describe anyone, is Millennial. But I can not deny that I fit the bill, so as you might suspect, I stopped learning about cars after I knew how to drive.When I have car trouble, the only thing I am confident in is my ability to call a tow truck or at least have AAA do it for me!I drove a 98 Jeep Cherokee for the last 5 years, and soon came to learn what Jeep stands for, “Just-empty-every-pocket”.So I had many mechanics over the years, in Georgia, Wisconsin, Montana, Oregon & here in both eastern & western Washington, none were of higher quality than the good people at Northwest Mechanic!Choosing a mechanic is a scary thing for folks who know nothing of the inner workings of autos! When I needed new brakes, I was scared for many reasons, but a combination of the knowledge, care & true passion for helping people at NWM quickly put me at ease.About a month later my dear Jeep died & after I brought it to the shop to check it out, the had pronounced it DOA (without new engine) but what was truly astonishing, was they sent me “thank you for your business/sorry for your loss” card & BROWNIES!!!!!!They cared so much, they sent me brownies, y’all know jiffy lube does not operate in this manner!I tried to get a new car, took it to NWM for inspection & they revealed it had 5k$ worth of issues and advised against purchasing it & guided me on steps to give it back to the shady dealership.Without their knowledge, I would currently be paying for a loan on a car that was not worth fixing.TL:DR?Are you scared of where to take your broken car? Do not be! Northwest mechanic is where you want to go! Amanda & Arnulfo know their business & care about the people the work with.

Genuine Customer Service is an understatement. Since the very first time I brought my truck in with a simple emissions failure I have received utmost hospitality from Amanda and her team. Four months after emissions and a rebuilt transmission from Mechanics Northwest, I found myself on I-5 with a flat tire that turned into the death of my starter. When roadside informed me, they could do nothing for my starter, I called Amanda right away for help. She had a tow truck to me in 15 minutes, the starter waiting for me when I arrived, and got the team right to work in less than an hour. Amanda and her team have treated me with hospitality, respect and have not wavered in honesty and I hope to return the favor as a customer.

This mechanic shop is really good. They already worked on three of my cars. I had my engine overhauled and I was really happy with the work. My other car needed suspension work and it rode really smooth after that.

I recently took my truck to Mechanic Northwest to get an overhaul my truck is now running smoothly and using less gasoline. The staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly, I will definitely revisit this shop.

I took my Honda Civic in for a basic oil change, the next day I was driving and could hear a weird rubbing sound so I stopped my car to look and a big piece was hanging on the floor. Mind you I’m a girl with no idea what to do. My dad called them they took responsibility. The mechanic came to my job in Auburn from Federal Way to make sure it was secure and told me to bring it in so they can make sure it’s ok. That to me is loyalty and I will continue to take my car. They were very nice people.

I take my cars to Mechanic Northwest, they are excellent. They have worked on my BMW, my Silverado and my Blazer. They did a fantastic job.

I was very disappointed. They quoted me an electric diagnostic $150 after having the car for 2 days and spent two hours working on the car and then call me asking me for an additional diagnostic fee. What a RIP OFFand still didnt find anything wrong😐

Went this morning with my 300M because the wheel was wobbly. Asked them to take my hub cap off and check and tighten my lugg nuts. They told me it was more serious and for $40 they will raise it on the lift and take a better look. Im glad I said no because low and behold the nuts were loose and I tightened them myself. Such an easy job for them to do but theyd rather try to take me for a couple bux

I needed a transmission and these guys went above and beyond to get my car done the same week I brought it in, in time for my weekend camping trip, and provided a spare vehicle to drive while my car was in the shop. They were honest and had the best customer service.

I am in the process of working with this shop. They changed my water pump on my BMW x3, charged $900 plus $173 for original diagnostic. Then after getting it back my car started overheating really bad. My husband took it back to them, they ran a pressure test and it showed that it was not leaking from anywhere so they gave us a piece of paper telling us that either the radiador cap or thermostat now needs to be changed. When mechanic shops change water pumps they know that they are suppose to change the thermostat and radiator cap as well. They did not do that, and my car was not overheating before. They refused to change it. So now we bought a new radiator cap and installed it, it is still overheating. We are at Autozone right now purchasing a new thermostat, when these are things they should have done. Well see if this resolves the problem. After paying more then $1100 total, we feel that our cars coolant system should be in working condition, as they said it would be. Also, we are in the process of seeing if they actually changed the water pump or just used some sort of StopLeak, because there are shiny chunks now in my coolant. My mom helped me to pay to take my car to this shop, she is now in process of talking to the Better Business Bureau and an Inspector about our options. My car is in worse conditon now then when we brought it to them. I will post an update.Update:Amanda from Mechanics Northwest just called me asking what could of been done to change my review to 5 stars. Upon talking to her she devulged that they actually did not change the serpintine belts. Which is funny, because they lead us to believe that within the $900 + $173 cost they would change the serpintine belts. When were in the shop dropping off our car, the Mechanic Arnulfo alslo explained to us that at no additional cost they would change the serpintine belts. My reciept states Recommened serpintine belts be replaced, no additional labor. So we were under full impression they had been replaced, however she just made me aware that they did not replace them. Im astonished with this place. They do not live up to their word.Update: They responded to my review with false information. First of all, one of the first questions they asked me was if my car was overheating, in which I responded No. Because my car never overheated, it simply had a coolant leak that I needed to get fixed. Also, payment was never an issue. Amanda took payment over the phone from my Mom. They know what they did was wrong. I took it to BMW of seattle and got a diagnostic of previous work done. The results came back that they did pour stop leak down my coolant system. And when mechanic shops change water pumps they are suppose to change the thermostat and radiator cap as well. These are things they did not do. Let alone, my car started randomly shaking as soon as I got it back. Came to find that the stop leak they poured clogged my coolant system. We called them and told them these things and all Arnulfo and Amanda were concerned about was getting more money out of us, the 1 year warranty they give, meant nothing. Come to find out that they did not change the serpintine belts either, which Amanda says if we would have payed for parts they would have. Thats funny because they charged us $1,100 and Arnulfo told my husband and I that he would change the serpintine belts at no addditional cost. Additional cost? Haha, they charged $1,100 for a water pump change. They illegally poured stop leak down my system. This shop is husband and wife ran and they have no dignity nor respect for their customers, they try and portray a false image, and they have horrible communication between each other. Long story short, my car is ten times worse now then when i brought it in. And if there was anything else wrong with it besides a water pump, well thats why we paid for a diagnostic.

Terrible experience with this guy!! ArnulfoI leave my Chevrolet van to fix the transmission and he he didnt fixed as he say. He send the transmission to rebuild from professional shop and he install the transmission but he leave the transmission leaking and the 3rd shift dont work as well.I leave my 2002 Mercedes benz because he supposed have all equipment for alignment and balance and next day I found my Mercedes in les shwab and he do overcharges instead of be honest and tell me I dont have the rigth equipment.Why I dont send my truck to les shwap?Because I want to give work to our Spanish people but they dont see that way.Next time I send my truck 2004 chevy to fix my oil pump and he give me back my truck all shackling and with low oil pressure and he tell that was like that when it wasntThen from hes shop people around, I dont know who but they stolen my tool box and he didnt want to pay anythingThe give you a sheet that he say that he is not responsible for any stolen items or any damage and I never sign that paper so that place is not saveIf any of you guys who see this message I recommend to go straight to any professional shop that you trust if you want to try this shop think about itThis was my experience

I usually go to pep boys.. but the customer service there has gone down A LOT. They quoted me $1100 for what they thought needed to be done. And if I still liked pep boys I would’ve paid that but then I thought I better give my money to a shop I actually like. I went to mechanic northwest and they were soooo helpful and nice and I can tell they weren’t trying to take advantage of me or overcharge me. Which me being a young girl is usually what happens at mechanic shops. They were so transparent and kept me in the loop the entire time. The lady even took the time to explain everything and show me videos of what was done. If you’re tired of big corporate chain mechanic shops, give these guys a try. I love small family owned businesses. I ended up paying way less than what pep boys was going to charge me And my car runs great! Also I had just taken my car to pep boys a couple months ago and paid $1700 and they said I should have no more problems.. just to end up with my car having trouble again after 3 months. So yea it was time for a change. I highly recommend this shop!
