I attended a wedding on 7/17/21 and there was NO A/C. The bride and groom were reassured that there would be working air on their wedding day and that did not happen nor were they able to get in contact with anyone day of or since the wedding in response to the situation. I’D STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO NOT BOOK WITH THEM !!! They are DECEIVING and completely UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
First time there very nice it was just a little too cool. But really a very nice place. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
I was a guest at a wedding. The venue was beautifully decorated. The size is comfortable for about 60-80 people in my opinion. One feature that I loved was that the bride came down the stairway. One negative was the heat was not working properly. We had to wear heavy coats the entire time. They brought in heaters to help but it was still cold. This was a few days after snow so I can understand having some issues with heating while doors were constantly being opened. Regardless of the cold it was a nice venue for a wedding.
I heard its nice
What a place. Went to a wedding there and it is awesome. Not sure when the elevator will work hopefully soon but the bridal suite is beautiful and we well work it out and it is still incredible and Courtney is so funny and knows a lot.Cant wait. Check out our official page # coming.
Trying call this venue 5 times and left a message so I can make appointment for my client to see this venue. When we finally got through the person was very rude and could not answer questions about our special requirements within their venue. She became very impatient and kept saying we need to make a appointment with her to get details. I have been a event planner for over 15 years and never experience customer service like this. We decided to choose another venue. Truly need lessons on proper customer service.
Nice place
Visiting from Al. Some friends had prior tickets to sit for the jazz scene and I was able to accompany them. Great atmosphere and venue
For 7 years I have served the Fayetteville area as a DJ Entertainer and have worked with most of the venues within the Fayetteville area. After this weekend, I can no longer offer my services to the Metropolitan Room venue. After providing services to over 10 weddings at this location for different customers, I see and understand that this venue lacks proper customer services, lacks management of its building maintenance and operation and lacks a attention to detail to the outcome of its events. Within the last 2 years, I have witness venue representative showing up late, which had a impact on the wedding day, lack of customer service which had a negative impact on the bride and groom on their wedding day and just point blank being rude to the customer or guest. I have witness brides and grooms upset and angry because of the mishandling of simple task of not having key areas open or unlock for their vendors or bridal party and not performing simple venue task in a timely manner. In one case a wedding had to relocate to a different venue at the last minute because the management could not provide a proper commendations for a AC issue which has been a common issue for years. Their recommendation was to provide industrial fans that had a major noise issue. Anyone with common sense knows this could not work for a wedding environment with live flowers. The lack of just providing the basic customer services has caused myself and other vendors to have to work harder to make up for this venue shortfalls. When we as vendors are calling other vendors and venues to assist with saving a wedding day because this venue lacks organization, management and event planning skills at the venue level, it is time to discontinue providing services at this location. The primary success of any wedding day is the venue being able to provide just the basic customer services and this venue can not even provide that. If the venue representative can not be a team player and can not work with others, that person is in the wrong business. If a individual lacks people skills they should not be in event services. Most of the issues I have observed from most of these weddings at the Metropolitan Room is because of the venue representative lack of people skills and having the I dont care attitude towards the success of the event. No bride and groom should be upset on their wedding day, but the Metropolitan Room continues to have this impact on the last three weddings I have done at this location this year. So with that being said, my company will no longer provide services at this location until it is own by someone who cares about their customers and the successful outcome of their events.
That’s the rag dj guy that everybody is complaining about. Funny feeling about him didn’t use him for my wedding at the metro and they couldn’t have been more wonderful. Perfect except the elevator was out and the guy was late getting us into the parking lot. Beautiful place and corky did everything she could she is the best.
SHAW Scholarship Banquet. Excellent time, excellent venue. Getting into the building from each parking level was a bit difficult as doors were locked. I will return each year possible!
Amazing place to have any type of event! They have amazing bartenders available, the best event coordinator in the game! Over all great place!
I wanted to contact this place to check on a date and happened upon the post by Danya Devine with the spouse event. I was at that event and must say this place is beautiful and the girl who runs it is helpful and extremely understanding. I am not surprised Danya posted this because her event was a mess because she sold space she didn’t have and changed all the tables. I felt sorry for the girl at the Metro because she was running around like crazy trying to help any way she could. I will never participate in another one of these military spouse events but I’ll darn sure to use the Metro again.
I cannot wait to have my wedding here! It fits all of my guests (about 300), you can bring in your own vendors and the market house is right out of the door for amazing bridal photos. Cross Creek Park is the most beautiful location for my ceremony but I love that the entry can be used as my rain back up plan! Thank you Debbie for all of your help with my planning so far!!!!
So I can not say enough good things about this venue. 1 it is beautiful. 2 Corky is easy to work with and a great help. She helped me make the best of my event. If you have a wedding or event this is the place to have it. And they have free deck parking.
My friends wedding plans were totally thrown off by the extremely poor Management, who was more interested in getting their money, than providing quality services to the couple! Still no refund. Wedding was September 29, 2018.
Corky was on point!!! She made our superbowl event the best in Fayetteville!!! She gave me access to the venue during her off days!!! She was very friendly and exceeded my expectations? I will definitely use her and this venue in the near future!! Thank you Corky!!!
After reading the reviews of several other former customers of this facility, Im wondering how this place is even still open for business! Ive been to this location a few times myself and each time, there was an issue that occurred during the event that was brought up after the event by the host or hostess of the event. Either the elevator wasnt working or the manager was rude or there was an electrical problem that was not addressed prior to or even after the event was over. Now, I have to admit that after reading through the reviews, I found it quite curious that the current Manager put up a review of the Venue that currently employs her versus responding directly to the recent negative review from Mario Hardy (a DJ that Ive personally used twice and found to be quite Professional).I also think that its really interesting that right after his review went up, a positive review was posted by NCFAY making a negative remark towards Mario Hardy using his DJ name in an attempt to mask the target of their remarks. When reading online reviews of businesses, I find that the ones that seem much more believable are the ones that offer detailed information with exact and seemingly provable facts. Yet, in Corkys post, she seems more focused on attacking the character of an unnamed Vendor, insinuating that this unnamed Vendor was a non-professional (which should have read Unprofessional, grammar is important) with no integrity when she really should have been focused on responding to the laundry list of seemingly confirmable facts stated in both Mario Hardys review and the many other negative reviews posted. (I read the multiple reviews talking about a friend that had to move their Wedding at the last minute with not one response offering an apology or explanation.)Maybe, the next step in this process should be to focus on and address the obvious problems with the facility itself and the lack of Professional Level Customer Service being provided by the current site manager.
We booked a while ago and were nervous but we just met with the new manager and she is wonderful! She really delivers and knows what she’s doing. The room and view are awesome and the bar is very cool. Corky will even change the lights to match your colors. Thank you so very very much! Can’t wait!
I would not reccomend this venue. My friend has not received her refund after the ac unit broke and she was not able to have her wedding at this venue. It has been 3 months. The new management was impatient, self centered, and only nice to my friend as long as it benefited her. The manager does not look out for the customer and refuses to provide contact information for the owner so that situation can be resolved.
When your guest LIST outgrows your guest ROOM...The Metropolitan Room is the answer!Spacious and easy-to-access, this versatile venue can fill the bill whether you need something elegant for a wedding reception, plenty of seating for a business presentation, or a little of everything for a multi-faceted charity event.Weve enjoyed attending several events at The Metropolitan Room, and not a one has disappointed us.
I attended a Wake and the venue seemed very nice and spacious. It was not too big, but big enough to accommodate the amount of people present. The security and staff present were friendly
This place is beyond beautiful. Photo booths. Corky is welcoming, enjoyable and the place has a nice place for my daughter to dress and covered parking for Aunt June . Im new at this and little scared but she knew stuff we never even thought of .Of all the places – this one is it.
I would not recommend this venue and the new manager. Since Debbie left fair treatment towards the customers is no longer valued.
A/C and elevator broken. Management did not inform the couple. The couple found out on their own...7 days before their wedding! It seems that management attempted to hide it. Management offered no solution and not even an apology...other than setting up several fans during the wedding & reception. The couple has to find another venue less than a week before their wedding.*Aug 2, 2021 - 3 years later and I just read an ABC 11 wtvd news article of a couple who had the SAME A/C ISSUES. Metropolitan Room did not correct the problem. The wedding was ruined with extremely HOT temperatures and loud FANS! These people are horrible and need to be shut down!
Decor was nice; however elevator was not working and it was a little warm in the room.
The negative comments posted by the friends of the unhappy couple were not done because of constructive criticism, but rather out of anger because they were unaware of all of the facts.Up to this point I chose to ignore these posts however many fellow vendors and venues who have been subject of this type of exploitation have urged me to set the record straight. The Met will not embarrass the unhappy couple by posting the whole story.Rather the reader should know the couple postponed several times months prior - and ultimately chose one week prior to their event to cancel. The hurricane and resulting building issues although timely had nothing to do with it.
No air
Our McCoy Hollingsworth 40th Family Reunion was a success. My family loved the venue, the Vault Bar was a hit.Customer Service was excellent, very friendly She went far and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed or maybe left behind for set up. I highly recommend this venue for any event. The view was also nice.
The Metro room fit all of my needs. The Event Director is great to work with and very helpful- she had accurate answers to all of my wifes questions. The parking deck took out the hassle of downtown parking.
Roomy, but catered food was cold
Great layout, accessible, easy parking for guests very nice facility in town for mid size events.
The new management sucks. They have horrible customer service, the AC was out and they had no clue when it would be fixed. The couple had to find another venue within 7 days of there wedding. I wouldn’t even recommend them to my dead dog.
Beautiful place....was there for an October Breast Cancer Awareness affair!
Great place to rent for a event ...
Debbie is such a joy to work with, the room is STUNNING! Perfect for any occasion, big or small.
Great venue!! The view is awesome. Thank you Debbie for all your help.
I cant brag enough about Debbie at The Met. I had SEVERAL hickups during planning and she was there every step of the way with advice and assistance. Due to the storm and 2 ceremony locations falling through at the last minute we needed to use the Met for both ceremony and reception. Debbie went above and beyond to help me not only before but even the day of my ceremony. She proved to be an even bigger resource than I knew she would....even down to running to get food for me and my wedding party once she realized that we hadnt eaten. I wisely chose to hire her to do my linens and centerpieces, probably my second best decision (2nd to picking The Met) and she did an awesome job. Our guest went on and on about how beautiful everything was and this was all thanks to Debbie. The only regret I have is not hiring her as my wedding planner (which didnt slow her down one bit). We are forever grateful to Debbie for everything she did to make our day (and planning) move as smoothly as possible. I could go on and on about all the things she so kindly did but I will just say if you are looking for a space with a helpful staff and on a budget this is the right choice!
I was highly disappointed in the way my friend was treated by management in preparation of her wedding day. I would not recommend this venue or management.
New manager simply wonderful - she is wonderful. Handled past problems and proposed new services. Had parties there and will be back because of her.
Great venue! The space is large and all of my guests loved the bank vault bar!
Lovely, historic place. Staff is great too
A family had their wedding there. It was a nice inside, the outside it so lovely.
Had an all day meeting there, its nice, good location - actually great location. My only complaint is the chairs were not comfortable at all.
Nice place. I like the food they serve on occasions.
Debbie Bender works for the Meteopolitan Room in fayetteville, she had set up an appointment with my wifes unit back in February for an event they were planning in April. She showed up to pick the venue and the menu. She promised linens centerpieces and even a table layout and floor plan. Slowly Debbie stopped talking to my wife and her coworkers, then eventually ceasing contact with her all together one week before the major event. Once my wife left reviews on Facebook and Instagram then Debbie sent a threatening text to my wife claiming harassment and even slander. Unfortunately rather than apologizing for her errors she chose to hide and finally text my wife about the negative review rather than addressing her lack of communication and failure to keep up her obligation to this unit. Its sad when businesses are allowed to delete their honest reviews and try to present an untruth. Please think twice about working with this person and business. An apology is warranted to my wife and her unit which I feel will never come.
Nice but not spectacular or impressive
Nice venue great for having a upscale event.
Just came from a wedding very nice room
Great time at the Chair-ity Auction
Our initial meeting was to take place with Lenora at 3 oclock p.m. on February 13, 2010. My wife, Sameria, works and lives in Virginia. She took time to drive and make it in on time for the meeting and when we reached the Metropolitan Room, the doors were locked because Lenora wasnt there. We called Lenora and she stated that she had never missed an appointment in ten years and was deeply sorry. Shesaid she was still at home in Dunn, NC and was in route to theMetropolitan Room. We found that the service door by the ATM was open and the decorator for the Valentines ball, which was scheduled for later that evening, showed us around the parts of the facility she had access to.Lenora then suggested meeting at a later time that day, so we agreed that 5 oclock p.m. would be sufficient for both parties because she was still out of town. We arrived back at the Metropolitan Room at 5 oclock and Lenora still wasnt present. She arrived about 30 minutes later. She was flustered and could not find the contract or get the correct date that we already reserved with the $500 fee in the monthof January 2010.We sat through roughly 20 minutes of her explaining her day instead of conducting the business we came to complete. There was never an opportunity to go over the contract in depth or discuss the business at hand; because she was telling us that she had to hurry to unlock the rest of the doors and get ready for the ball that was going on that night. Since she did not have the papers together, we agreed that heremailing the papers would suffice (but she never emailed them) and we would meet at a later date. After a failed attempt to meet with Lenora and get the contract; I, Phillip Z., suggested that she fax the papers to me. She said that would be ok and because she had been so busy and not in the office it was actually better for her. I received the papers on a Friday and after going up to Virginia on the weekend to meet with my wife and go over the contract I returned to Fayetteville and attempted to meet with Lenora to return the contract. To no surprise, Lenora was unavailableto meet with me. I proceeded to meet Lenora on three different attempts in the months of February and March with no luck. So, I faxed the contract back to her and she called me stating everything on the contract looked good and we set March 17th at 12:30 p.m. aside as the date and time to meet for the remaining payment. On March 17th, I arrived at the Metropolitan Room to locked doors. I called Lenora on her cell phone and on the work number and got no answer. I was on my way back to work, because the meeting time was scheduled during my lunch hour, when I received a call from Lenora she asked if I could come back. She stated that she was out trying to get the internet back on in her office, when I asked her about our scheduled time to meet, she asked meto just slide the final payment under the door of the office, a check in the amount of $2,010.00. This is not logical, I asked her how would I receive a receipt and she replied Itll be alright she would record the payment. I called my supervisor and asked for an extra 30 minutes to finish handling business. When I came back and gave the check toLenora, she said that everything was good and she had everything she needed and said, Ok, Mr. Z well see you on April 17th.Two other attempts were made on 28th of March when she stated she had a funeral to attend with unnecessary information (there would be over 1000 in attendance etc.) another attempt was made to meet 7th March. I finally got a message the 3rd of April to call on 5 April the meeting took place 12 April which was schedule for the 12p.m. but did not arrive until 12:30pm.There is more to this account but not enough room to continue...
Outstanding.
I would not recommend this business.
Lovely venue for a small wedding
What a wonderful place for weddings
Great atomphere!
Need a lot of work but it served its purpose
Very nice place
Amazing venue
Just Beautiful

GREAT VENUE
Kenya and Kayla these young ladies have no integrity. Their word means nothing and both of them are liars. They have no work ethic. This reflects on Doctor uba who I have tried several times to contact.
Good room for events
